Sybase XA XAER_RMERR
Hi,
I am trying to get XA working with Sybase ASE 12. We have the XA license installed and working.
We're using jConnect 6, and get the following error when starting a transaction. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Do I need to tell Sybase that Weblogic 8.1 is the resource manager? If so, how?
<pre>
java.sql.SQLException: Unexpected exception while enlisting XAConnection java.sql.SQLException: XA error: XAER_RMERR : A resource manager error has occured in the transaction branch start() failed on resource 'tordevfire_scenario': XAER_RMERR : A resource manager error has occured in the transaction branch

Hi Supports,
I am using sapinst homogeneous system copy in Linux on sybase.
I stuck on the the step 27/49 "create Database".
I checked Firewall is off.
i got points in my sapinst_dev.log that "
1)The log segment in the target database 'SID' is too small (9216 MB) to accommodate the log segment from the dumped database (10240 MB)"
and
2)"Can't change the owner of the master, model, tempdb or sybsystemprocs database"
Do i need to increase "sybase/SID/saplog_1" ? because my "saplog_1" is 49 mb now.
if it is ! how do i increase in this stage.
can any one know about this error???
Thanks,
Aziz.Hi,
When i seen SID.log file so its showing deadlock and checkpoint occurring,
Is any solution ???
Is this because of networks?
we had 2 servers on this same IP. but i stopped one server and one is still running.
please find my SID.log file and revert back if any soltion.

Sybase Mobile Sales for Window Mobile
Mateus,
4. Qual a linguagem utilizada ?
6. Quais os cursos disponíveis no mercado ?
Como falado, SUP511 p/ desenvolvimento em SUP.
Ouvi falar tb de SUP611 para afaria, mas nao sei dizer se a SAP Education já está oferecendo.
7. Como integra com o SAP ?
O SUP pode integrar de 2 maneiras:
- lendo um data source SAP diretamente (há um "adapador" RFC no SUP, baseado em JCo); nesse caso, o staging é feito no SUP;
Abs,
Henrique.Dear siva,
Thanks for your replay.
which then can be moved to the devices via OTA or BES
I thought of that BES means BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
BES is manadatroy to work with SUP?
Can you pleas elaborate, what it means OTA ?

How can I Connect to SQL Server or other RDBMS like Sybase from Form 6i
I want to connect Connect to SQL Server or other RDBMS like Sybase from Form 6i. I kniow that I need some gateway product but I don't know the name of the product?Can i use some other technology to do the same like client software etc.
I need this help urgently?Check the following link.

On Sun fire v490 - Solaris 10 with Oracle 8.1.7.4 & Sybase 12.0
Hi,
We are going to upgrade our server with this configuration -
Sun Fire V490 2 x 1.05 GHz UltraSPARC IV CPU
8096MB RAM 2 x73GB local disk
2x FC 2GB Sun/QLogic HBAs
DAT72
On one machine we will have Sun Solaris v10 with
Oracle DB v8.1.7.4 & Second one will be Sun Solaris v10 with Sybase DB v12.0.0.6.
Now our question is - Sun fire have Hyper-thread CPUs will the O/S and databases (Oracle and Sybase) view the proposed system as a true 4 CPU platform? Will parameters used to tune the database such as Sybase max online engines still operate in the same manner as before?
Our old machine configuration was - Sun E450 4x400MHz CPU 1024MB RAM 2 x18; 8x36GB disksQuestions on Oracle and Sybase should be directed to a database forum, this forum is for Sun hardware support.
Here is a link to a DB forum I look at from time to time:
http://www.dbforums.com/index.php
The topic of tuning Oracle or Solaris is way beyond the scope of this forum, I have attempted to go into it before but didn't get any feedback and I would only like to spend lots of time on it if I was being paid!!! On the memory side, keep in mind that Oracle 9i 64-bit can address a maximum of 2 ^ 64 ( 16777216 TB ) memory, prior to that the DBA had to define memory parameters in init.ora. To be honest the last time I worked with a Oracle 8 database I shut a HP K class server down permanently that had been migrated to Oracle 9i on Solaris by an Oracle consultant and I can't remember all the tuning trick etc. -

Help on export sybase iq tables with data and import in another database ?
Help on export Sybase iq 16 tables with data and import into another database ?
Hi Nilesh,
If you have table/index create commands (DDLs), you can create them in Developper and import data using one of methods below
Extract/ Load table
Insert location method : require IQ servers to be entered in interfaces file
Backup/Restore : copy entire database content
If you have not the DDLs, you can generate them using IQ cockpit or SCC.

Crystal report when created using sybase oledb, gives no appender error
I have a .net 3.5 application which uses Sybase Oledb to export crystal report 2008 to some file format.
While calling the function ExportToDisk, the console shows error as:-
"log4plus:error no appenders could be found for logger <com.sybase.dataaccess.oledb.iunknown.queryinterface>.
log4plus:error please initialize the log4c plus system properly"
This is not any exception I think, because it does not get caught into Catch block when i tried.
What is the reason this message is shown?
The code is as follows:-
ReportDocument reportDocument = new ReportDocument();
reportDocument.Load(reportFileName);
foreach (CrystalDecisions.Shared.IConnectionInfo reportConnectionInfo in reportDocument.DataSourceConnections)
reportConnectionInfo.SetConnection("10.253.59.214,5000", "OPS_UTUPG_Adp3", "ops_sa", "TstUsr#1");
//Function to set parameters of crystal report.
SetParameters(reportDocument);
string exportFile = @"C:\temp\ExportedReport.doc";
reportDocument.ExportToDisk(ExportFormatType.WordForWindows, exportFile);Hi,
Since your question relates to .Net with CR, you can repost it under ".NET Development - Crystal Reports" forum. -
The following is a bulk-copy operation, from a table in Sybase database into a file in Unix machine.
bcp view_name out file_name -c -U user_id -P password -S server_name
This bulk-copy utility is working fine when run from command line of a Unix machine, for any number of records.
But when I try to do it from a Java application for more than 1.84 lakh records in the view, the following problem occurs.
The file is created and from the view, 1.84 lakh records are copied into the file.
Then the program hangs.
The application waits for the bulk-copy process to be completed, which does not resume after copy of 1.84 lakh records.
No exceptions are thrown.
Even for just one record more than 1.84 lakh records, this happens.
The number of bytes corresponding to 1.84 lakh records many records are 11040060.
This is the bulk-copy portion of the application.
String strCommand = "bcp view_name out file_name -c -U user_id -P password -S server_name";
Runtime run = Runtime.getRuntime();
Process proc = run.exec(strCommand);
int i = proc.waitFor();
I am capturing InterruptedException, IOException and the superset Exception also.
Pls throw some light on this.Sorry to bother you, but I saw this topic you posted on the Sun Java Forum and was wondering if you were ever able to resolve it.
I am experiencing the exact same problem and was hoping to get it resolved soon.
Thanks in advance! -
How to control the number of rows selected from a sybase database table?
Hi, JDBC guru,
I'm working on project using Sybase 11.9.x database.We need to process a record in a table,first select it from the table,then do some computing,finally write it to a dbf file, if the above steps succeed,remove the original row in the table.Quite evidently, all these operation should be put into one transaction. But how can I select just a number of rows from the sybase database table?
Any hints?
Thank you in advance.

Sybase Unwired Platform - Error in creating a Blackberry Application
Hi Experts,
I am working in the development of Blackberry application using Sybase Unwired Platform and SAP as the backend data source. As a part of this I had created a Remote enabled function module in SAP which returns an internal table as the output. In the Sybase Unwired Workspace I had created an MBO with this function module and created the User Interface using Device Application Designer. When I test this application in the simulator BlackBerry Storm2 9550, It is showing an error which says
Encountered error while synchronizing package <package_name> and synchronization group "default", see logs for details : com.Sybase.persistence.SynchronizeException: com.Sybase.persistence.ProtocolException: deivce's protocol version is incompatible with the server's protocol version. (1>0)
I am using Sybase Unwired Platform 1.5.5 for this development and BlackBerry Storm2 9550 as simulator.
Can anybody help me to solve this issue?
Thanks and regards,
Rinzy Deena Mathews.Hi pradeep,
Application is connected with SUP because i tried a simple application using sampleDB.
But when i used to connect SAP to Application, that error generated.
I created SAP Connection successfully but its still show that "Could not initialize class com.sap.mw.jco.JCO in Sybase Control Center's Domain's log page.
I am not able to understand why that error generate because i connected successfully with SAP in Sybase Workspace.
I think that is the problem of 64 & 32 bit files problem.
I used windows 7 64 bit.
Please reply me.
Thanks & Regards,

Error while using sybase trigger with the CMP entity bean,ejb version 2.1
Hi All,
I am using ejb version 2.1 and using entity bean (Transaction required) ,i am trying to update data in sybase(ver 12.3) database table
I am using session bean(Transaction required) to update the multiple entity beans in a while loop.It is working fine .But when i am trying to run it with the trigger which updates multiple tables in different sybase databases on update of each entity.Then it throws NoSuchEntityException and it rollback the whole transaction.
My trigger has only few simple update statements and the trigger runs fine without my CMP entity bean.is the CMP does not support the update triggers in sybase or is it the problem with the transaction.
Please help
Thanks
AnshuIf you can have a look at a cmp example in the samples that ship with the server. My guess is that the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml file is missing the <persistence-use> element which for 810 would look like:
<persistence>
<persistence-use>
<type-identifier>WebLogic_CMP_RDBMS</type-identifier>
<type-version>7.0</type-version>
<type-storage>META-INF/weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml</type-storage>
</persistence-use>
</persistence>
I seem to recall that the elements might be slightly different in structure for the wls700 version of the DTD, so please check that (I cannot, I'm at home and don't have everything here).
Give that a try and see if it doesn't solve your compilation failure.
Also, the compilation should not be throwing a null pointer exception in a case like that, I consider that to be a bug.
