SYFY movies via internet stop and start

Tried to watch (online) a movie on the SYFY channel.  The movie would play a few seconds, then freeze a while, then play, then freeze..... I tried again a day later with a different movie on that channel and got the same results.  Other channels seem to work fine.  Is there something different on SYFY that might cause this?.

Paui,
You can also do a soft shutdown, which waits till the active users/sessions are logged out (Draing out the sesstions) and no more new users are allowed to login during that time.
Goto SM51, select the instace/server you want to stop then menu --> Goto --> Server Name --> Administration --> Shut Down Server (soft).
Here you can also select a hard shutdown if the situation demands by following the same menu path.
Even though your question is answered but I still wanted to update you the options to select.

  • Internet stops and starts constantly

Every 2 hours or so my Internet stops working and about 30 seconds later starts working again anyone have any solutions?
None of the lights on my Bt hub change they all stay blue which is why I don't understand I was given one of the new hubs to stop this from happening but nothings changed.

Have a look on the hub logs and see if the PPP0A session is reconnecting. I had the same issue on one occassion and it was happening every 10 minutes, in my case it was down to a IP profile being stuck higher than it should have been causing too many errors and resetting the PPP0A connection without needing to resync.

  • Internet stops and starts ethernet Japan

    Hello,
I am currently studying abroad in Japan, just arrived yesterday. I brought my macbook with me (Mac OSX v. 10.6.8) to connect to the internet. In my dorm there is only an Ethernet cable connection. When I plug the Ethernet cable into my computer, it will connect, but then it will drop and restart, drop and restart. So basically the internet starts and stops. When I look at network diagnostics, the Ethernet, Network Settings, and ISP lights are green, while the Internet and Server lights go between green and red.  If anyone has any tips please let me know. Also, if you know how to reset Ethernet network settings, especially the ISP, please let me know!
Lastly, it seems to like whenever I use a japanese website, such as google.jp , it tends to stop if I use english websites, I don't know if that has anything to do with it but I thought I might as well write it.
    Thanks

  • Movies on iPad - stops and starts

Why does movie on iPad keep stopping?

Have you downloaded it or are you streaming it?
If you're downloading it, has the download finished?
The likely answer is either your download has not finished or you are streaming the movie.  Either of these would rely on having a fast, strong internet connection.  Movies are big objects that require time to download.

  • Firefox4 on ubuntu, after awhile when I click on bookmarks and then move the cursor down to a bookmark, the list of bookmarks disappears. A stop and start of firefox4 fixes the problem but what is the long term fix?

I upgraded to 4 and I noticed that after 4 has been up for an hour or so I click on the bookmarks. I see my list of bookmarks below but when I move the cursor down to select one, the list disappears.
The only way I have found to fix this is to stop and start 4. I can then move the cursor down to select a bookmark. This problem has not occurred in previous versions.
    ps.. no '''''delicious''''' installed

No, I see the three areas at the bottom of the Bookmark area that you refer to, but that also highlights an issue.  When I want to save a story to my Reading List and click on Share then "Add to Reading List" then go back to look at what is stored in the Reading List, my recently-saved item is not there.
I looked thru the History tab and the Reading List tab and have been in the Bookmark tab.  But even when I Save a Bookmark, that newly-saved Bookmark does not show up in the Bookmark area.
But then again, the next day (and actually just in the last half-hour) all of the functionality came back.  When I look at the Bookmarks, suddenly, again, all of the Bookmarks that are on my Safari browser on my iMac are now there, and I can now Save a Bookmark.
It keeps coming in and out and that is what is driving me a little nuts.
    Thanks.

That would indicate a network issue.
    Reboot ATV and router
Make sure DNS is set to auto
Ensure router is up to date, if on wifi try ethernet
Go to istumbler.net to get a report of the network, look for signal strength and noise

  • Stop and start the system via the SAP GUI

    ........ although I don't know the answer!
We have SAP running on an iSeries/DB2 format.
And we of course have stopped and started our SAP systems many times before via an iSeries screen.
One thing we have never had to do, is stop and start the system via the SAP GUI.
Is this possible? If so, how is it done?
Surprisingly difficult to find a solution online.

  • How to stop and start IGS(internet graphic server)

    Hi Techies
How to stop and start IGS(internet graphic server) in Solaries
    IGS is 7.0 1patch
Is this the command to stop and start IGS
    stopigs and startigs
If this correct will there be any issues if i stop the IGS from the above command
    Thank You
    Haroon

    Hoi Haroon
On base 6.40 there were stopigs/startigs scripts, yes. When we upgraded our systems to 7.0 I encountered the same problem, the igs could be stopped, but not started anymore (externally). Can you check, if the startigs/stopigs-scripts are 7.0 or 6.40.
I then opened an oss and got as answer:
"To start and to stop the igs there's only the offical way by stopping and starting the sap system".
However I found a solution to start and stop:
    start:
    nohup /sapmnt/<SID>/exe/igswd_mt -mode=profile pf=/usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/profile/<Instaneprofile> &
    e.g.:
    nohup /sapmnt/P72/exe/igswd_mt -mode=profile pf=/usr/sap/P72/SYS/profile/P72_DVEBMGS01_migzmc10 &
    stop:
--> stopigs, therefore the 6.40-stopigs script has to remain in the exe directory.
    Hope this helps.

  • Stop and Start play from iPod - fine from HD library

I use an iMac G5/2ghz/1.5G at my office. I installed upgrades this morning for both iTunes and Tiger, and now, when I connect my iPod to play through iTunes, I get the stop and start stutter play.
I ripped files off the iPod and put them into the hard drive library, and those play fine, but anything that's playing through the iPod is stuttered.
FYI - it's a third gen 20G iPod, connected via Firewire, with v2.3 software.
This Mac is authorized to play everything on my iPod, and it was all working fine before the upgrade - so, any ideas?
(Please help - I can't stand listening to local radio with commercials, and the bandwidth police will close in on my for listening to streaming...)
    Thanks.

The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this atwww.speedtest.net.
HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps.

  • Videos stop and start

I've got a fast computer w/plenty of ram. I can watch videos from all other sources perfectly smooth, including Quicktime HD movie trailers.
When I try to watch a video in iTunes it slows my computer down so much that besides the videos stopping and starting, my mouse won't even move smoothly.
It worked fine until a couple of weeks ago.

    Phyllis-
One reason is that your internet connection is not fast enough to keep up with the video.  You may find that when it gets to the end of the video and has fully downloaded, it will replay without stopping.

  • WHENEVER i SURF THE WEB AND PLAY ITUNES MUSIC, THE ITUNES MUSIC STICKS AND SKIPS AND STOPS AND STARTS. i HAVE BRAODBAND COnNECTION AND AN ADEQUATE MODEM

WHENEVER i SURF THE WEB AND PLAY ITUNES MUSIC, THE ITUNES MUSIC STICKS AND SKIPS AND STOPS AND STARTS. i HAVE BRAODBAND COnNECTION AND AN ADEQUATE MODEM

I am experiencing the same problem, not being able to access internet at the same time as streaming iTunes music through an Airport Express.
Our configuration consists ot; an iMac G5 and an AirPort Express connected to a cable modem.
This problem first occurred using iTunes 7.0, now updated to iTunes 7.0.1, along with OS X 10.4.8
I have followed the Apple troubleshooting guide - without success to this point. The internet can be accessed (although slower than usual). However when the AX is set, using the AirPort Admin Utility to provide an AX provided IP address to the computer, the internet disappears, but iTunes can play over the network via the AX station.
I am suspecting a damaged preference file, or something of that nature, but am not sure what file(s) to be searching for.
Any help here would be appreciated.
    thanx

  • SSRS Report queries begin running slowly, have to stop and start report server to restore performance

We have had a production issue crop up twice now where reports begin running slowly seemingly at random.
When this happens we can see from running SQL Profiler that the report queries are taking an extremely long time to execute.  The same queries when run directly in management studio run quickly.
Initially I suspected parameter sniffing, and tried using OPTION (RECOMPILE) in the reports, as well as clearing out the particular query from the plan cache and running the SQL in SSMS to try and get a better plan etc but no amount of jiggery pokery by
me could get the queries to run any faster.
The really weird thing - is that stopping and starting the report server via the reporting services configuration manager instantly cures the problem.
I'd really love to know - why this might be?  Is it something to do with the report server closing and re-opening its connections to the database? That's the only sort of thing I can think of...any ideas? Anyone? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
    LucasF

    Hi LucasF,
In your scenario, usually we can monitor the execution log in Report Database. If you run below query, you can get the results how long the report takes to render (TimeRendering), how long to process the report(TimeProcessing) and how long to retrieve data
from Database(TimeData). You can check the starttime and endtime to know the total time for executing a report.
    SELECT TOP1000 *FROM[ReportServer].[dbo].[ExecutionLog2]
More details information, please reference to similar thread below:
Steps for troubleshooting a slow SSRS 2014 server
    Troubleshooting Reports: Report Performance
In SQL Server Reporting Services, a job will be created by SQL Server Agent if any of the following processes is underway:
query execution on a remote or local database server
    report processing
    report rendering
To cancel a job that is running on the report server, we can cancel the job directly or reduce the report execution time-out value in the SQL Server Management Studio and then will stop query execution. Please refer to the steps below:
Open SQL Server Management Studio, and connect to "Reporting Services".
Under the Report Server node, right-click on the "Jobs" folder and select "Refresh". Then, right-click on "Jobs" again and click "Cancel All Jobs".
Right-click on the Report Server node and open the "Server Properties" dialog.
Click the "Execution" option, and set the "Limit report execution to the following number of seconds:" to a much smaller number. After this issue is resolved, this configuration should revert to the previous state.
    Reference:
    Managing a Running Process
Setting Time-out Values for Report and Shared Dataset Processing
In addition, we can also use the KILL Transact-SQL statement to terminate a normal connection by terminating the transactions that are associated with the specified session ID. For the details information, you can refer to:
    KILL (Transact-SQL)
If you still have any problem, please feel free to ask.

  • How to stop and start MDBs to listen for JMS messages

Hello! This might be more of an architecture question rather than a technical questing, but I post it here, in the lack of a better place...
For several years I have been using Webster and Webster MQ to send messages back and forth to clients. The architecture for the middleware platform has been designed around the functionality of ListenerPorts. Listenerports is a Webster functionality that let you "stop" and start to listen to JMS messages for a given MDB either by admin console, or by JMX.
The arhitecture we used was something like this :
1.Client sends a persistent message to a queue. (order)
    2. An MDB pics up the order message, calls a SessionBean that "fronts" the IIOP back end system.
This is quite "out of the box" architecture, but we used the Listenerports to solve a stability problem for our back end system.
The backEnd system was quite unstable, so the EJB threw an exception (typically because of timeout or connection refused) back to the MDB.
The Listenerport was "defined" to handle 3 errors before stopping, so the MDB resent the message twice before the listenerport automatically stopped. The nice thing about this feature was that the client could continue to send orders, and was not bothered when the back end system was down.
When the backEnd system was up and running, we could start the listenerport and it was all back to normal state. We even had a start script that checked the state of the listenerport every 30 minute, and started it automatically if it was stopped, making the admin task of starting the MDB unnecessary..
Now.. Why am I telling this story..
I would like to know how this could be done using "clean" J2EE technologies..That is..Not using any technology that is not portable..
I`m playing with glassfish at home, and it struck me that there is nothing in the J2EE spec that defines the functionality described above ? Am i missing something ?
I Do not want to stop My application because the back end system is down? That is the only way (i know of) that i can "stop" to listen for messages..
I can put all the messages on an error queue when the backbend system is down, but that would lead to more code just to handle the error messages. Maybe the easiest way to solve this is to "move" (programmatically) all messages from the error queue over to the "standard" queue every XX minute, but somehow that sounds "wrong"
Can anyone give me some advice to how this problem situation should be solved ? I`m interested in the solution both from an architectural perspective and from a more technical perspective..
    Best regards
    Hans-Jacob Melby

Breakpoints, whether normal or conditional, are just meant for debugging of your code.  I had the sense from your question that the pausing you want to do is a part of normal operation of your code.  I would NOT recommend using a breakpoint for that situation.  It would bring up the block diagram showing the breakpoint when it occurs.  A user besides the programmer would not know what to do in that case.
Yes, both the inner and outer loops would have shift registers.
Putting a case structure with a small while loop inside the "Pausing Case" is doable.  It just depends on what you are doing or waiting for while the program operation is "paused".
