% symbol in report

Hi All,
I have to calculate one percentage in my report...(sales-costs)/Sales. I am doing this by using a formula variable. I am getting the pecentage value in my report with this formula but I have to show the percentage symbol(%) also. For Ex:
NOw I am getting the report like this:
Gross Margin
0.9
1.2
3.4
But I want this to be like below:
Gross Margin
0.9%
1.2%
3.4%
Can some one let me know how can I add the percent symbol in my report.

hi,
try formatting the cells, i mean right click the cells, click Format(alto), click cells(ctrl1), then select the number tab, there u select Percentage and click ok. now u will report willl display numbers with % at the end.

Business Requirement:
Want to see Actual and Headcount in same column along with currency.
currently we have separate column for headcount and Actual as below. (Actual and headcount will not come in same row.)

To display both in same column , I have used NOT function in formula and displayed the report as Below.

I have calculated the above column using NODIM, so we are not getting $ symbol in report.
But business want that symbol to appear along with Actual value ($ 1000).
Please suggest if there is any way to do this.

Hello Jay,
I think Koen Hesters is right. If you use you currency from your unit-dimension you will be able to get currencies in a separate column but not with the figures attached.
The only thing is that you will get # or not-assigned for the headcount values. If you are using BO tools on top of this BEx report then there is a chance to display currency also in the same column for the Actual values.

Hello Experts,
My requirement is need to "Update SELECTION TEXT and text symbols for report J_1IEWT_CERT".
1. As I want to change text sysmbols for 006 to "Run in preview mode". Currently it showing "Type of output". Issue I am facing here is that whenever I deleting aur changing the same it throws an error : "Text symbol 006 is an original text and cannot b
deleted or renamed". How can I do the same.
2. Secondly I have to add two selection text also i.e. ZFATHER and PREV . And delete two selection text i.e. P_PDF and
P_SCRIPT. In this Tab there is only a Icon of deleting not an Addition button .So How can I add two more selection text.
Above are Manual Activities which is written in note 1486147. We already taken an acess key and it shows in editable mode but
not able to add/deletin/modify selection text and text symbols.
Please provide the solution as it is critical requirement.

I want to show the quantities with the currency symbols in my reports. Its properly showing $ but franc symbol is not coming. I tried hard coding the symbol , its not even getting pasted in the column formula (coming as inverted question mark).

How to bring new rupee symbol in reports

Dear Gurus,
We have a requirement that in all the exixting reports we need to show the new rupee symbol as $ comes doe USD.

Solution
We recommend to postpone usage of the new character INDIAN RUPEE SIGN until the character and its code point have been formally released with Unicode standard 6.0.
When you decide to use INDIAN RUPEE SIGN before it is formally released, make sure, that your input methods and fonts use the code point U-20B9 for the INDIAN RUPEE SIGN and that the official layout of the INDIAN RUPEE SIGN is used.
Using a different code point for the INDIAN RUPEE SIGN will cause future problems with data consistency, data communication and searching.
SAP currently does not provide input methods or fonts which cover the INDIAN RUPEE SIGN nor has any suggestions, which input methods or fonts can be used.
INDIAN RUPEE SIGN cannot be used in Non-Unicode SAP systems.

% Symbol in report after calculation

Hi, I have two key figures in my report. I want to calculate the percentage of KF1 to KF2. Say KF1 is 20 and KF2 is 100. My KF3 is the formula and it should 20 %. I am using the %A operator and it is just returning the value 20 and the % Symbol following the value 20 is missing. Can someone please suggest me how to get this value in the report?

It sounds like you have turned on the "Display Scaling Factors" option in the Query Properties screen. If this is not needed for another key figure, you can turn this off and the "%" will not appear in the header.

Remove symbols from Report Painter Report

We have a report painter report. The amounts in the report are displayed with a " * " symbol, probably due to the amounts being added.
We would like to remove the " * " symbols from the columns. How is this possible.

Hi,
I guess the column size is too small to display the whole amount. Enlarge the columns in the layout options in report painter.

Different currency symbols in report

Hi All!
Can anybody show me how to create international reports. I need to show different currency symbols in the same report but for different clients.
I try to use set_nls function, but no luck.
Any suggestions will be appreciated!

Deleting "#" symbols in report lines

We have financial reports in BEx which use field "Name" composed from 3 fields "Name1" "Name2" "Name3" (because restrictions of lenght of the field), in reports we compile one field "Name" using Visual basic. We are moving from BW 3.5 to BI 7.0, and faced such problem, when one of the fields is empty (for example company name is short), its filled automaticaly by symbol "#", and therefore in report we have "ABC###" instant of "ABC".
Now, we have only one decision - delete "#" symbols using Visual Basic. Does somebody faced this problem?

How to render special characters (math symbols) in report column headers

I want to enter the following characters in a report column heading: ng &frasl; μl
In text items they render correctly when I use the following codes:
ng &frasl; μlbut in column headings they render as
Ng / Ml
Anyone know a fix?

Paul,
I used it in my Report i don't see any problem, you might want to check it again
i have seen using Μ gives 'M'.
so make sure you are using lowercase 'm'
another solution: use this "ng / µl" directly on to the column or to the header it works,
if you get anything like this "¿", then copy the "µ" symbol from Microsoft Word and paste it, i did the same :p.

As SAP doesn't maintain any such table, you need to hardcore it in the program or create a ztable for maintaining the known currencies by looking at TCURC.

# symbol in report-field

Hello Colleagues,
We are getting # value for a field in BI report. When i checked in the update rule(Data field calculation) of that field it is taking value from source filed.
Scenarios is that data loading from CRM system->BI system. In CRM system for this particular opportunity id the source field is having value but not getting populated in BI report.
For some opportunity id's we are getting values, for some we are not getting.
Please check and help us in resolve this issue.

Have you checked at bw target, particular opportunity ID have value.
if yes then try debug your report RSRT and see it. from where its picking #. Normally if its blank in that cases we may see value as #.

Add symbol into report column

Hi
In BI 11G, I have created up and down arrow for Total Orders depends upon the Air Date.
but i want to put the up and down arrow depends upon the Previous total order value. if the first value is high, the symbol should be up arrow. if the second value is low, the symbol should be down arrow.
How can i write condition in conditional format?

Hi kavitha,
is the previous order value stored in a separate column? If so you can write a case statement accordingly.
eg:- case when order>5000 then 1 else 0 end;

iam not sure that can be achieved.....is it t do with arrows only.
Why cant you try GAUGES and give ranges to it and colour formatting when decreased then it is easily understandable and presentable.something this way
case when order between 10 and 20 then gauge(red colour)
when order between 90 and 100 then gauge(yellow colour) end
