Sync 2 macbook pros / iPhone / iCal / Entourage

I can't seem to get the right settings. I have a work MacBook Pro, a Home MacBook Pro and an iPhone. The work MacBook Pro has Entourage on it. When I sync all these together I end up with duplicated iCal appointments. Like it will tell me 3 or 4 times I have the same appointment at 3 on Monday. How do I set up all the iCal, Entourage, iPhone and both macs so this duplication is eliminated. Thanks in advance.

The single download means that you won't be able to redownload it from the store without paying, either on a computer's iTunes or an iOS device - it doesn't stop you from copying the audiobook to your other computers or syncing it to your iOS devices, you just can't redownload it. (I believe that they are all supplied to Apple by audible.com, so I assume that it's them requiring the one-time download.)
You can download audiobooks on your computer's iTunes and sync them to iOS devices, you do not have to buy them directly on the device (if you do then you can copy them back to your computer's iTunes library by connecting the device and using the File > Devices > Transfer Purchases menu option on your computer's iTunes).
What you are doing to sync them should work i.e.
- connecting the iPad to your Mac
- selecting the iPad on your Mac's iTunes
- selecting its Books tab and selecting the audiobooks that you want to sync to the iPad and syncing/applying that selection.
You should then get an audiobooks option in the Music app on your iPad. If they aren't appearing there then do they show in Settings > General > Usage > Music on the device - if you have audiobooks on the iPad then they should be listed there under an 'audiobooks' heading.
By 'restart the iPad' do you mean a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
You could also try closing its Music app via the iPad's taskbar : Force an app to close in iOS.
And do a soft-reset and retry syncing.
I assume that music and other items sync ok ?

Facetime on MacBook Pro, Iphone and Ipad mini no longer works after years of working just fine. I get the message that I am connecting then it instantly just disconnects. Has worked fine for over two years with no issue until about a month ago?
I have investigated and tried things like re-setting apple ID and deleting the plist file etc, nothing works.
My Wife is having same problems in a different location so deffinatly not a problem with my wi-fi.

Today When I tried to open the app store on my ipad I found out that's the store is not working,,, It's giving me the loading screen like for ever without any error message. So I tried my Macbook and my iphone and it was the same,,,, I thought it was from the connection so I tried several different connections and It was the same.
Any Idea what is going on with the app store ?

The App Store app on your iPhone in your iPad is a different App Store than the app store app on your Mac. You use the same account for both app stores. So I would guess that the real issue is perhaps something to do with your Home Network. You might try rebooting your modem/router. Also, turn off any antiviral software, firewalls or apps such as Little Snitch.

Thanks for the thought. My Macbook Pro is running slow in all ways. I have done all the suggestions given to me in my previous question about "50 second startup" etc. including etrecheck (see below) with nothing helping.I have not reset my directory or typed "purge" in terminal. Should I do them?

Keeping mail accounts synchronized between MacBook Pro, iPhone, and iPad

I want to keep my email accounts synchronized between three devices (MacBook Pro, iPhone, and new iPad).
I use several Email accounts (personal use, business use, one for Internet purchases and newsletters, etc.)
My Email accounts include: MobileMe, Gmail, and two that are hosted by my telecommunications provider and these are POP3-based Email accounts.
I use Apple Mail as my primary Email program, and Gmail for the personal accounts. In Apple Mail, I make use of Folders to sort incoming messages.
I need recommendations on how best (and simplest) to keep everything synchronized between and among the three devices mentioned above. In addition, I can be more productive if I have the ability to use Folders/Labels for Email filing regardless of which device I am using.
I’m considering using Gmail as my primary Email program. It synchronizes easily with all three devices, and Gmail’s Folders/Labels do appear on the iPhone and the iPad. If I choose this route, I will need to find an effective way to back up Gmail, especially for my business-related messages.
I’d welcome any advice/recommendations from any of you. Thanks.

in pop there is a setting to leave the mail on the server ... I would have one main device that i used for managing .. ie. deleting email, and use the others for just reading. obviously the macbook would be the managing device ... but i have to say a laptop is not a great email manager because of the limited storage. alternatively you can start to use imap where all the email stays and is managed on the server, then your mobile-device-only lifestyle will work better and you do not have to worry about backups if your ISP takes care of that.
what i do at home is to have an iMac with a huge disk and store my stuff in the home directory, and then I can use other devices, that don't necessarily have to be apple, to read mail in the inbox. I just manage and archive on the iMac, or whatever would be the biggest machine. That way I also use time machine to keep backups in case I might lose something too.
your philosophy seems to be to stay mobile and light. i archive all my email forever ... at least anything I think is important or personal. just a different workflow i guess. in future i will move my mail folders to a readynas box with 12TB storage because of the size of multimedia is going to be getting bigger and bigger. Goggle's email already allows 20MB emails.

How do I sync MacBook Pro's old iCal calendar with iPhone 4?

I had MobileMe, which as you all know, was not a perfect program. MobileMe left me with duplicates of every Calendar but I am not sure which one to delete of each pair for fear of losing date. But it did sync my iPhone and my iCal on my MacBookPro. So when it was suggested that I move to iCloud, I thought: Great idea. Maybe this program will work better!
Well now I have no syncing between iCal calendar and iPhone iCal calendar.
Does anyone know how to use this thing?

Contacts and calender you can put on icloud then sync to your new phone when its setup to the icloud account. Not sure so with emails.

MacBook Pro runs OSX Mountain Lion. Pages is the program I use most often. Ordered an iPad w/ Retina Display and it will arrive Wednesday. Looking for tips and hints on how to optimally sync my devices. For example I would like to be typing a document in Pages on one device and have it shared with the other; be able to navigate back and forth as though I own two laptops. Safari Reader is another feature I use often. I would like to have it such that when I put an article on my reading list on one device it'll automatically be on the other. Any tips and hints would be appreciated. By the way my iPhone is a 4s but I am not all that interested in syncing it with the other devices all that much.

Syncing calendars between Macbook Pro, iPhone and iPad

Having trouble with this. The calendars were working fine but now they're not. I have three calendars - one on iCloud that I use for personal stuff, the others on two exchange accounts that I use for work emails etc.
The Macbook Pro is brand new (yesterday) but copied all setting from previous computer which is also having problems as of this week so it's not the new gadget that's the problem. The iPhone and iPad have always synced fine until this week.
Now if I put an appointment into calendar on one device, it sometimes shows up on one or both of the other devices - but not always. This is scary as I am getting double booked and forgetting to go to things so I am desperate! I considered deleting the accounts and reinstalling them but they might lose the data so this seems very risky. Any advice gratefully received - thanks in advance...

HT1386 I am trying to sync my iPod Touches calendar to my MacBook Pro calendar. I have been successful at syncing the events from my MacBook Pro's iCal to the iPod but haven't been able to sync the events from my iPod to my MacBook Pro. Is this possible?

I have an iPod touch that I often use to manage different events for work. I have been able to sync the events on my calendar from my MacBook Pro to the iPod touch successfully using wifi. What I really need to do though is sync my iPod calendar events to my MacBook Pro calendar. Is this possible? How do I set this up? It would be a huge help if I could transfer the events on my iPod calendar to my computers calendar. I currently have the wifi sync option on and have turned on the sync calendars option in iTunes. Looking for way to sync macbook pro calendar to calendar on PC

I have a macbook pro 2010 model and an ihpone 6 and a PC. Is there a way to sync my apple macbook pro 2010 and my iphone 6 to my PC so that all my calendars and contacts and such can be accessed on my pc as well as my macbook?
