Sync albums from multiple libraries??

Hi,
I use multiple iPhoto libraries to faster handle my photos with the app, iPhoto Buddy. Does anyone know how I can sync albums from different libraries with my iPod photo?? I'm out of ideas...
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I figured out a way to do it. For anyone having the same issue...
Create a main folder to store photos for your iPod-- ("iPod photos") and put it where you want it (I actually put it on the hard drive part of my iPod).
Create a folder inside that one named for any albums you want to sync.
Drag photos from iPhoto (select every photo in the album) into the folder you've created for that album.
In your iTunes prefs, set your iPod to sync photos with the new folder you've created, where ever it may be and that should do it.
First sync will take a while....
Hope that's helpful.

  • Fastest way to export Albums from Multiple Libraries?

I'm probably the only MAC user on the planet who has somehow created over ten iPhoto Libraries each with many many albums, containing about 25,000 photos -- many of which are duplicates.  I am using an iMAC with OSX 10.7.5 and iPhoto '11 9.4.3
GOAL:  I want to upload all photos to my external drive.  I don't want any of them ever to be in iPhoto.  I want to keep them organized by the ALBUM names.
PROCESS:  I've been opening each Library and selecting all photos from each album then exporting them to my external drive as maximum quality, full size, with album name sequential.  It was working for a while .....
PROBLEM:  Now, I get error message saying "Unable to create"  and yet some of the photos did upload.  I've tried this using all the different options and also tried uploadidng to desktop instead of external drive.  Nothing works!  Also, I want to keep the original date of the photo but it is changing them all to today's date as the date created!
    QUESTIONS:
    1.  Why does it upload some successfully then stop?  Is there a limit on the number of files I can export at a time?  Why doesn't the error message say THAT then, Apple?
    2. Is there away to keep the photo's original date when exporting (given the process is successful, ha ha)?
    3. Is there an easier way to achieve my goal?  I tried iPhoto Library Manager that claims to consolidate libraries by album name, but it did not consolidate them all, it gave me a bunch of empty albums and duplicate albums.  So now it is one more of my 15+ libraries.

When I export photos, the date changes to the current date.   Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
I'll guess neither. You're looking at the date on the file and that's not the same as the date on the Photo.
There are two kinds of metadata involved when you consider jpeg or other image file.
One is the file data. This is what the Finder shows. This tells you nothing about the contents of the file, just the File itself.
The problem with File metadata is that it can easily change as the file is moved from place to place or exported, e-mailed, uploaded etc.
Photographs have also got both Exif and IPTC metadata. The date and time that your camera snapped the Photograph is recorded in the Exif metadata. Regardless if what the file date says, this is the actual time recorded by the camera.
Photo applications like iPhoto, Aperture, Lightroom, Picasa, Photoshop etc get their date and time from the Exif metadata.
When you export from iPhoto to the Finder new file is created containing your Photo (and its Exif). The File date is - quite accurately - reported as the date of Export.
However, the Photo Date doesn't change. The problem is that the Finder doesn't work with Exif.
So, your photo has the correct date, and so does the file, but they are different things. To sort on the Photo date you'll need to use a photo app.
I'm not sure why you want to do this thing of exporting everything and moving them to an external, but the fact that the Finder doesn't understand metadata and is poor at working with Photo files is a factor you'll need to take account of.
    3.  AFAIK Library Manager does work with video.
    4. There's no simple answer to that. Varies depending on whether you're talking about the original, the preview or the thumbs. When you say "all over the place", where are you looking?

  • Sync photos from two libraries

How can I sync photos from two libraries? after syncing one of them I close that library and open the other and choose to select certain albums and the warning pops up that if I sync the current selection all others will be replaced with the current library. So it appears that you can't add to the ATV hard drive additional photos from the second library without losing the content you already have from the first one.Is streaming the answer, and if so how do you do that?

You can't sync more then 1 library with the apple tv. Your only option would be to sync with one and stream with the other. Just make sure on the second library that you set it to share and then go to computers on the apple tv and select the shared library. ATV will give you a code that you will set on the second library when you have itunes open. Put in the code and you will be able to stream

  • I cannot view/sync albums from iPhoto on my iPhone whilst iCloud photo library is on. Why? and is there a way of doing it.

I cannot view/sync albums from iPhoto on my iPhone whilst iCloud photo library (beta) is on. Why? and is there a way of doing it. It is especially frustrating given I have subscribed to more space yet I have to turn it off to view!

I found the answer in another discussion group, so I have just erased everything through settings on my new iphone and in Backups on itunes, I have clicked on restore back up. So it appears to be working.

  • What isa the best way to reorganize my photos from multiple libraries to a single library

I need to reorganize my photos from multiple libraries to a single library. What is the best way to do this?

The only way to do this while preserving all your metadata, versions and so on is with the paid version ($20) of
    iPhoto Library Manager

  • Sync albums from two iphoto libraries to iphone

I have two iphoto libraries set up on my computer. One for family photos, one for my professional work. I switch between them by holding the alt key when I launch iphoto.
When I go into itunes to select the the albums from iphoto that I want to sync to my iphone, only the default library shows up with selectable albums, i.e. the family library.
How can I get albums from two different iphoto libraries onto my iphone?
    thanks

    one20,
The iPhone will not sync from two different iPhoto libraries, but you can create a folder on your computer and just drag all of the pictures you want on the iPhone into that folder. Then in the Photos tab in iTunes, sync that folder to the iPhone. Anytime you want to add/remove pictures from the iPhone, you can just add/remove them from the folder without changing your iPhoto libraries.
    Hope this helps,
    Jennifer B.

  • Smart album from different libraries

    Hi everyone,
I have a some different iPhoto libraries, one for each trip I made.
In every library I created flagged photos album.
Now I'd like to sync these flagged photos album to my iPad.
How can I do that? iTunes makes me sync one library at a time, and every time I sync a new library, it deletes photos on Ipad!
    Thanks!
    Alberto

Well that's just one of the reasons why multiple libraries are very inconvenient.
Why would you create a different Library for each trip? iPhoto 11 can have up to 1,000,000 in any one library. I separate trip out by year and then album.
So, simply you can't do what you want. Your iPad will only sync with one library at a time.
If you have Aperture 3.3 or later and iPhoto 9.3 or later you can merge libraries with Aperture.
Otherwise the only way to merge Libraries is with the paid ($20) version of iPhoto Library Manager

  • Syncing albums from iPhoto to iPhone doesn't get complete albums

I am trying to sync an albums from iPhoto on a Macbook Pro to an iPhone 4 and I'm running into a problem where some albums are only partially transferred to the iPhone. Eg, there's an album in iPhoto that contains 9 images, and iTunes shows me that count, but when I (directly through USB cable) hook up the iPhone and sync, only one of them appears in the corresponding album on the iPhone. I think I understand the procedure, and I've pulled the images out of the Photostream to build the album, but can anyone think of why on some albums but not all, not all images in the iPhoto version of the album get transferred?

I do know there are different types of jpegs, exactly how or if that affects whether you can use them with a mobile I'm not sure. Use iPhoto to see if you can see some obvious differences between the photos.
All the photos are selected for sharing from the advanced menu I presume.

  • Syncing albums from iPhoto to iPad w/ new version of iTunes.

In the last version of iTunes you were able to select the albums that you wanted to sync from iPhoto and now I can't find it in the new version. Please help!

Have you enabled iCloud Photo Library Beta on your iPad in the Settings > iCloud > Photos ?  Then syncing Photos using iTunes Photo Sync will be disabled. If you want to sync your iPhoto Library using iTunes disable  iCloud Photo Library Beta on the iPad,  see:   iCloud Photo Library beta FAQ
Otherwise syncing photos from iPhoto and selecting albums in iPhoto will work as before.

  • How do I reconnect my masters from multiples libraries?

Spring must be coming early...I've decided to clean up my Aperture libraries!
I have multiple libraries, none of which are totally unique, and may have photos contained in other libraries (dont ask me why...)
I want to construct one library that has a total set of all the images across all my libraries
    Potential issues
1 - Probably need to reconnect masters - what is the best way when I have multiple external drives? (which may have been renamed since they were first created)
2 - Some photos are contained in iPhoto
3 - Some photos were held in 'Nikon Picture Project'
What is the best method of achieving my consolidated image library>?

Consolidate all Masters into each Library first.  Then merge the Libraries.  The weed out dupes, organize, etc.  The relocate Masters wherever you want.
The merged Library doesn't have to be on your system disk.  Any FW800 or faster disk will be OK for setting it up and housekeeping.  You could then -- just as an example -- relocate your Masters to the same external drive, and then move the (smaller) Library to your system drive.

  • Can't sync albums from new location

Hi I moved all my photos to a secondary drive (all in the one structure) and tried to sync them to iTouch and iPhone from there. From the old "MyPictures" folder I can sync that older and select whatever subfolders I want as albums but from the new location the only way I can get the photographs to load across is to sync from the album level which means I can only ever have one album - itunes just locks in sync mode (all night) and wont transfer.
    Any suggestions?

Why not? What happens when you try to sync?  Are you trying to sync with the same computer you normally sync it with or is this a new/different iTunes library?
