Sync Apps is disabled in my iTunes. How to make it enable and sync my apps to iphone.

I have the same problem!
And frankly on a 128gig air it is a bit of a pain, because sometimes i do run out of disk space while syncing
there is an option called "Automatically sync new apps" in the Apps Tab of the sync menue,
BUT i already have it deactivated and itunes still says: ~found new purchases on the iphone, do you want to transfer them~
i guess the only option is to deactivate the transfer of new purchases in general, but then if you buy music on the phone it will not show up on your computer

Can't make ipad sync apps to new computer's iTunes

I have a slightly strange problem. In Sept 2012, I got a MacBook to replace a Windows laptop. I transferred all my itunes music across and used 'transfer purchases' from my Ipod Touch to transfer all the apps to the itunes on the mac so I could keep all my apps. I then ticked the 'sync apps' box, and synced and everything works wonderfully, all my apps are still there etc and I can download them from the app store etc on the ipod.
However, when I did this with my iPad 2, it never changed from syncing with the old laptop. Under iTunes wifi sync on the ipad, music,movies,podcasts, books and tones are synced with the new macbook, and for some reason apps, itunes U and movies are synced with my old laptop. I can't download any new apps or music on the ipad from the itunes app/appstore app either (the buttons just don't do anything). Nor can I seem to, no matter how hard I try, make the ipad sync apps with the new macbook. The apps themselves work just as they ever used to.
I understand with itunes 11 the 'sync apps' button has gone, so I tried transferring purchases and then syncing, to no avail. All my apps show up in the corect position under the 'apps' tab, but they just won't sync.
I have some access to the old laptop, but it is 200 miles away and I can't access it for several weeks at least. There's nothing in the apps themselves that is absolutely vital for me to keep (although obviously it'd be annoying to lose all the data stored in them, such as game saves).
Can anyone help?

Edit: Strangely, I can now get it to delete apps, by deleting them from the apps tab on iTunes, it goes all the way through the sync, but finds an app to sync (generally just one), gets halfway through that then cancels the sync. However, it has deleted the app I selected for deletion from the ipad. I still can't downalod anything from the itunes app.

Oddly, I've now (through repeatedly trying to sync the ipad) got the apps to now sync to my ipad according to thw wifi sync menu on the ipad. However, the sync still cancels halfways through. It attemps to sync between 1-20 songs that aren't on my ipad (cause it hasn't been syncing) and then gives up and "cancelling sync" appears.
Each time the number of songs left to sync is fewer and fewer, but I can't deal with an ipad that can only sync 5 songs per sync cycle. There's no reason given as to why it cancelled the sync, and none of the apps sync.

I have yet to update my iPhone 3GS to the newest OS because of an on-going issue I have been having with syncing my purchased apps on iTunes 10.2.1. Despite having authorized my computer and re-installing both iTunes and Quicktime, every time I try to sync my apps, I receive an error message that says that it was unable to sync my purchased apps because my computer has not been authorized. Sync apps bought on Phone to iTunes

I bought several apps on my phone, and I am unable to sync them back to iTunes (I'm on v7.7, iPhone 2.0). They work great on my phone, but they have not copied to iTunes. I get a prompt on sync about "purchased items on your phone not in iTunes library", asking me if I want to sync. When I click yes, it just starts doing a back up of the phone, which takes about 20 minutes. I now have an Applications library icon in iTunes, but it's empty....

I've had a few applications say they didn't install, but they are there. I have a applications tab on iTunes full of aps now, and they are all on the phone. It took a few sync's for it to get actually syncronized, but it eventually did.
Not really a strong answer, but just kept syncing all day and at the end of the day all aps were in both places.
I also downloaded some aps in itune and let them install on the phone, that worked fine too.

Cannot sync app to iPhone 4S via iTunes

I purchase infinity blade 2 app for my iPhone 4 and do lots of in app purchase up to USD 38.73. Now I try iCloud backup for my new iPhone 4S 64GB Black unit but the iCloud backup is workless because it's says no backup available and ask me to use it as a new iPhone. Then I try iTunes Backup. It backup every single photo, apps, and device settings. But it doesn't sync my infinity blade 2 app. I try app sync up to ten times but the results are same and that is infinity blade 2 app failed to install. Now I'm so worried and sad because I scare I will loss all infinity blade 2 data and my in app purchase up to USD 38.73 it's a huge waste. It will download infinity blade 2 app to my new iPhone 4S at no charge but will it also restore the data on old iPhone 4 to this new iPhone 4S. I mean I can take back from where I left or I have to start from zero. Plus I ask Mac City, the authorised reseller of apple consumer products and they say iPhone 4 powered by apple A4 chip and iPhone 4S powered dual core A5 chip, so the data not compitable from A4 to A5. Is that truth? If it is what about my in app purchase?

When I sync my iPhone to iTunes over WiFi the app icons do not all appear. Some are lost or some are just displaying a 'A".
Any advice here on why this might be and what I can do to fix it?

Cannot sync apps to ipod touch from itunes

Hi,
Before I purchased my used Ipod touch 2g or 3g online I downloaded Itunes onto my laptop and also download some free apps. However, once I received the used ipod which had some apps and music already installed on it. I cannot sync (transfer) the free apps from my computer to ipod. When I click on application at the top tab all apps on ipod shows but I cannot do anything with them. When I tried transfer purchased from ipod touch to computer a message pops up saying I do not have authorization, yet I authorize my computer. Any help will do!

you can only use apps with one account. If apps where bought using a different account, they will not transfer to your computer using your account.

Syncing apps after changing computer/itunes library

I used to sync my iphone apps with computer A.
Then I reformatted computer A, and decided to stop syncing apps anyways on that machine (a laptop with very little disk space).
Computer B, which has always synced the iphone music, my desktop, is now running itunes 9 and usually I haven't cared to sync apps (why bother!), but itunes 9's app management screen needs me to sync!
When I select the sync box I'm told it will delete and replace all apps on the iphone with those in B's library. But B doesn't have anything! (I deleted anything it did have, again to save space).
How do I make the iphone start syncing apps with my B desktop, by effectively starting by copying-all-apps-from-iphone-first?

Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your phone to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your phone without syncing. Transfer your purchases as pointed out by Allan. When you connect your phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards. Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the phone for the first time.

Also when I select a particulcar app , in the app bar below it deletes al the existing apps \

Hey Steve,
I had this problem as well and found a way how to solve this:
You need to reset your iPhone by pressing the Home button and the Power button simultaneously until the iPhone reboots.
After it rebooted I unlocked the phone, connected it to my PC and ran the iTunes sync without any problems.

How NOT to cross-sync apps between devices?

I backup all my iOS devices to iTunes on my desktop iMac. I like everything about that except the fact that if I update an app, for example, on my iPad, iTunes then updates that app on my iPhone on the next Sync. For lots of reason, I don't want to do that- for example some updates I like on iPhone and not on iPad, or vice versa.
Sooooo, I'm looking in iTunes and trying to figure out which setting will prevent this happening. I'm looking at the Apps tab with my iPad connected, and I'm trying to figure out do I uncheck the very top choice "Sync Apps", or the one at the bottom of the list "Automatically Sync New Apps" And what is the difference? I get a rather scary Alert when I turn off "Sync Apps" that makes me think iTunes might not Backup my apps if I do that.

Open itunes, connect a device, go to the apps tab, select only the apps you want on that device, select sync app or they will all be erased. If you do not want every new app that you download to be added to your device, tehn deselect that option.
Each device will only sync what you select

I would recommend a few things here. If you havent already restart both your computer, and the iPad.

Restarting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesnt work then close all the apps that are running on the iPad with this process:
From the Home screen, click the Home button twice.
Tap and hold on the app.
When it starts to jiggle, tap the to close it.
Double-click the Home button and try opening the app again.

Syncing Apps from iPhone to iTunes and back

I've transferred my apps from the iPhone to iTunes by clicking on "Transfer Purchases" That's all good so now they both have the same apps.
I've installed the latest ver of iTunes so ultimately it allows us to re-arrange the pages of apps on the iPhone through iTunes.
When the checkbox "Sync Applications" is unchecked I can see my apps as arranged on the iPhone, when I check it everything is different. That's not what I want as it tells me my settings will be copied from iTunes to iPhone.
What I want is for it to recognise my latest apps setup on my iPhone and THEN allow me to re-arrange it from iTunes before syncing.
How can I do this?
Extra info: This is for my MBP, I've synced it with my PC and I think that has the latest settings I'm not too sure.

As already mentioned, you can only sync to one computer at a time. To be able to go back to your computer, disable autosync in itunes, connect your phone and right click on it in the device list and choose Backup. Transfer your purchases the same way after that. Then sync your phone. All media content will be erased during this process, but you can restore your phone from the manual backup you made before.
