Sync Archive fails for CRSs on LMS 3.1

Hi, I've been trying to collect the configuration of some CRS-1 4-slot but it keeps on failing. These are the only devices I'm missing (out of 2,000). I've tried to tweak the timeout values but it makes no difference. The actual values are set to:
     SNMP Retry = 6
     SNMP Timeout = 90 sec
     Telnet Timeout = 120 sec
     TFTP Timeout = 60 sec
The protocols I'm using to retrieve the configs are SSH, Telnet, and TFTP. Telnet is disabled on this devices, they use SSH v2 instead. What I get from the job details is:
*** Device Details for 9R_MCO_NEXTENGO ***
Protocol ==> Unknown / Not Applicable
Selected Protocols with order ==> SSH,Telnet,TFTP
Execution Result:
CM00139 Could not archive config Cause: Action: Verify that device is managed and credentials are correct. Increase timeout value, if required.
They are managed by RME, indeed and it has been able to collect their inventory. This CW is installed on Solaris 9. If I try to SSH from the console it prompts me for a password, but if I type in CW server's account password it won't log me in. Then I need to specify my username and I'm able to get access.
     # ssh 10.255.0.41 -l CISWORKS
Does this looks like an SSH issue? Then it should be able to collect the configs by TFTP. Or are CRSs not fully supported on LMS 3.1? This devices are running IOS XR 3.6.2.
Thanks in advance.

This sounds to me like the credentials are misconfigured in DCR.  Go to Common Services > Device and Credentials > Device Management, and re-enter the username and password for this device.  Then see if you can archive the configuration.  The CRS-1 4-slot chassis is supported in RME 4.2.

    Hi,
    Sync archive fails for some of my devices.
    This is the message :

    CM00139 Could not archive config Cause: Action: Verify that device is managed and credentials are correct. Increase timeout value, if required.
    Check device credential is OK (Telnet + SNMP V2)
    This device is Cisco Systems WS-C6009.Cisco Catalyst Operating System Software, Version 7.4(3). (sysObjectID : enterprises.9.5.39)
    I have modified the "Maximum time to wait for Job Results per device (seconds):" to 240.
    What could be wrong?
    Thanks in advance

    Resolution Summary:Checked the dcmaService.log and found the following recurring statements.
    com.cisco.nm.xms.xdi.pkgs.LibCommon.common.CommonUtility,getMinSupportedVersion,406,Descr = 12.2(50)SE
    [ Tue Oct 26  15:58:45 CDT 2010 ],DEBUG,[main],com.cisco.nm.xms.xdi.pkgs.LibCommon.common.CommonUtility,getMinSupportedVersion,405,suppSysId = .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.927
    [ Tue Oct 26  15:58:45 CDT 2010
    Checked that the device IOS was well above the version specified in the logs, so thought may be an issue with the device packages.
    Checked the mdf version was 1.25 which came as default when we install LMS 3.2, so upgraded the mdf version to 1.45.
    Still the issue didn't got solved, so upgraded the RME device packages and now the archive job was successful.

  • Sync Archive failed LMS 3.2 using TACACS

    Dear All,
    Iam using LMS 3.2. In short, there is 2 type of router, 2800series and 2900series.
    These device already join to TACACS server. When I try to sync archive I got:
    - failed on 2900series
    - successful on 2800series
    I have doing same config (credential, snmp, protocol for sync archive), for those device on ciscoworks but why I find the error??

    Usually it is essential to configure the $NMSROOT\objects\cmf\data\TacacsPrompts.ini file. As with tacacs+ Auth you can also define custom login username and password prompt, hence this file is important to be configured, only in case of Telnet not SSH.
    So just check the login prompt you get in your device when you try to do telnet and mention the same in you
    TacacsPrompts.ini file.
    Example:
    >Following is the content of TacacsPrompts.ini :
    [TELNET]
    USERNAME_PROMPT=
    PASSWORD_PROMPT=
    > Following is the username and pasword propmt for my device :
    > As per this please modify the file as :
    [TELNET]
    USERNAME_PROMPT=Username:
    PASSWORD_PROMPT=Password:
    Just save and try to run the job again for failing device.

  • Usage reports more free space, than iTunes but music sync update fails for lack of space

    32 GB iPod touch 5th generation IOS 8.3
    Settings -> General -> Usage (Storage) says Used 17.1GB Available 10.3GB
    itunes 12.1.2.27 says 6.15 GB free
    Attempt to sync a music update - results in message(s) saying
    "unable to add song ... not enough space"
    I can understand some free space is need for overhead but

    Connect the iPod to your computer and look at the storage used by the various categories as shown in the colored bargarph in iTunes.
    Come back with the results.
    An "other" larger than about 1 1/2 GB indicates corrupted files.
    What is the Other on my iPhone and How to Remove It
    What is "Other" and What Can I Do About It?
    Next, usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.
    To restore from backup see:

    To restore to factory settings/new iPod see:

  • Here's why iPhone sync is failing for so many

    One of the first things iTunes does during sync is try to connect to port 443 at iphonesubmissions.apple.com (that's the port for HTTP over SSL). Unfortunately, no server is responding on that port.
    So, it's nothing wrong with your phone, or your Mac. It's Apple's problem.
    This is why the workaround that many have suggested of disconnecting the network works. Whatever iTunes wants to do with iphonesubmissions.apple.com is not essential to syncing.

    Here's another way to stop the problem, more convenient than turning off the network.
    Open your home folder. Find and open "Library". In there, find and open "Logs". In there, find and open "CrashReporter". In there, find and open "MobileDevice". In there, you should find a folder named after your iPhone. It contains crash logs from when applications on your iPhone crashed. Either move this folder out of "MobileDevice" or delete it. You should then be able to run iTunes and sync normally until you next have an application crash on the iPhone.

  • Config archive failed for devices no longer on DCR

    RME reported 30 devices failed config archive but this devices are already removed from DCR but RME keep reporting this devices. how I can clean up thiese devices from RME?
    Thanks

    You can contact TAC, and they can give you the procedure to surgically remove these device records from the RME database.

    I am getting below logs,please advice, how to resolve the issue.
    Thanks.
    I am using LMS 3.2.1

    Yes you are right that we have restore from backup and since then this problem occurs. We have uninstall the CiscoWorks from c: drive and install it on e:drive, due to high disk utilization issue on c: drive.
    I have checked the
    RME > Administration > Config Management > Archive Management > Archive settings and setting is already e: /CIS~1/files/rme/dcma,
    Also from dbreade, by executing the sql "select * from Config_Device_Archive" in rmeng, I can see that some file location is C:drive and orther files location is E: drive, so I have run the below sql to correct it, although it executed correctly, by I can see that Config_Device_Archive table that still some devices location is c:, others is e: drive.
    update Config_Device_Archive set
    location=replace(location,'C:\\PROGRA~1\\CSCOpx','E:\\CAPCIS~1')
    Please advice, that how to resolve this issue.
    Thanks

    Action: Check if protocol is supported by device and required device package is installed. Check device credentials. Increase timeout value, if required.
    The connection to this device (ASA-SSM-10) is possible with SSH protocol with Putty and with SecureCRT. What has to be change in the LMS to sucess with Sync archive and later with changing the archive with the LMS 4.0. Thank you.

  • IPhone 3GS will not sync calendars because the sync server failed.   Just installed Outlook 2010.  Is there a fix for this?

    My iPhone 3GS could not sync calendars to the iPhone because the sync server failed to sync the iPhone.    Just installed Outlook 2010.   Is there a fix for this?

    I am simply lookig for some help not an argument.  I am not an RF specialist however have setup a few wireless networks in my tenure at Wynn Resorts.  I fully agree that wireless networking is an art and a science however the powers that be in Network Land have toughted wireless networking is the easiest and quickest way to get two computers to talk with one another.  As I previously said I have already turned one (1) MBP in for this problem and Apple decided to replace it because they could not fix the problem with my particular MBP.  This MBP was running Leopard when the problems started
    I am having a hard time believeing that there are several other devicces in my home that depend on a wireless network to operate and my MBP is the only one having an issue.  I took this a step further and decided to see what would happen if I tried to connect wirelessly via Fusion.  In Windows 7 I am able to print and scan to my hearts content without any issues.  I am able to browse the internet as much as I want.  I close Fusion and try to connect to my printer via wireless and nothing.
    In order to get Apple to help do I need to get a Network Analyzer and capture packets when I have these problems?  Out of the 1000 + posts is there a consolidation of which answer is the best?  BTW I am accessing the internet via a wireless connection using Fusion and Windows 7.
    In response to Linc's comments, I will look at the router specifications however I did not qualify that these devices are not using the wireless connection at the same time.  Right now I would guess there are maybe two (2) or three (3) at the most that are actively transmitting / receiving information. --  Thanks

    if i launch /opt/SUNWics5/cal/sbin/start-cal with this locale
    LANG=es_ES.UTF-8
    LC_CTYPE=es_ES.UTF-8
    LC_NUMERIC=es_ES.UTF-8
    LC_TIME="es_ES.UTF-8"
    LC_COLLATE=es_ES.UTF-8
    LC_MONETARY=es_ES.UTF-8
    LC_MESSAGES=es.UTF-8
    LC_ALL=
    i get the error described before. the i just reset LANG and LC_ALL to C and all goes well.
    thanks to truss for the inspiration.
