Sync/async BPM test

Hi,
I'm trying to implement the sync/async bridge BPM example.
I've created a web service adapter (SOAP) as synchronous sender, and I thought I could use a JDBC adapter as asynchronous receiver, but it seems I need synchronous JDBC adapter to make a SELECT query and get results...
Does anybody know an adapter type I could use as asynchronous receiver adapter for my tests?
regards
Yann

Hi Yann,
it is easier!
make 4 steps in your BPM
1) recieve
2) send async
3) receive (response from step 2)
4) send sync
For step 2) in your integration directory create a receiver determination that calls your BPM (step 3)!
Thats the trick. You do not really need a ASYNC backend system.

  • Sync/Async BPM scenario : Problem at Integration Process..!!

    Hi All,
    I am doing Sync/Async BPM scenario.
    start ->Receive(Request)> Transformation(Responsemap)>Send(SendtoR/3)->Send(Send Response) ---> stop.
    When Iam trying to Activate, Integration process giving errors as
    Source parameter AA_Payment_Req | http://XXXXXXXXX.com/SAP_PI/DirectSales/Payment not set  Target parameter AA_Payment_Response | http://XXXXXXX.com/SAP_PI/DirectSales/Payment not set
    Warning: Container element Response is defined but is neither initialized nor used.
    But I am using them in the BPM. The same kind of scenario is working for another interface which is already running in production. When I tried to check that interface it is showing only Warning message as Container element Response is defined but is neither initialized nor used.
    I tried deleting and creating again and still it is showing the same error.
    Can anyone please suggest what might be the problem.
    Regards

    Hi,
    could you pls let me know how its solved, while i am trying the same i am also getting the same problem..
    could you pls explain bit more on this.
    Thanks,

  • Need help with Sync/Async BPM Scenario

    I have an R/3 RFC -> XI -> HTTP (to vendor A) scenario that is working fine.  It is a totally synchronous call event.  The Integration Directory pieces sit in a scenario named HotkeyOutbound.
    Now I need to create a process for RFC -> XI -> HTTP (to vendor Panduit).  The R/3 RFC is the same sender, but vendor Panduit only supports an asynchronous HTTP connection.  I followed the Sriram Vasudevan weblog on Sync/Async Bridge and created my BPM.  I am stuck on trying to determine what to set up in the Integration Directory.
    First off, should I be able to use the same HotkeyOutbound scenario as with vendor A so all hotkey stuff can stay together?  Or do I have to create a new scenario with a copy of the R/3 business system for the sender?  I moved forward with a new scenario (PanduitHotkeyOutbound).
    I also need to know how many config Agreements and Determinations to use.  The image at http://webpages.charter.net/kpwendel/keith1.html shows what I have so far.  Which are not needed?  What is missing?
    And I tried setting up an HTTP communication channel for outbound async to vendor Panduit and another for inbound async from vendor Panduit.  XI won't let me set up a sender HTTP channel.  Why not?
    Thank you in advance.

    I have yet to figure this out, and probably need to go back to my Integration Repository setup since my problems may start there.  This screenshot shows my Repository objects.
    http://webpages.charter.net/kpwendel/intProcess.jpg
    HELP!  These are the steps I took, with questions embedded.
    (1) Created data type and message type for xml document (note that same format is used for request and reply).
    (2) Created PANRequestAbstractInterfaceSync (abstract and sync) for first part of Integration Process.  Should the input message be the RFC or XML message type?
    (3) Created PANRequestAbstractInterfaceAsync (abstract and async) for 2nd part of Integration Process.
    (4) Created PANResponseToBPM_MessageInterface (outbound async) for interface back into XI from partner. Is this needed?
    (5) Created PANHotkeySync_to_Async_IntProc Integration Process to handle sync to async bridge.
    - Wondering why PANRequestAbstractInterfaceAsync is the only message interface available when I make container object (PANMessage)?
    (6) Created two Message Mappings to handle RFC data to XML mappings (outbound RFC-> XML and inbound XML -> RFC).
    (7) Created Interface Mapping that includes both the Request and Response message mapping programs from step six.  Source is the RFC and Target is PANRequestAbstractInterfaceSync.
    - Do I need another interface mapping with Source being PANRequestAbstractInterfaceAsync and Target being the RFC?

    Thank you very much for your time.

  • BPM Sync/Async Scenario:  error: "Timeout condition of pipeline reached"..!

    Hi,
    I am doing Sync/Async BPM scenario.
    -> Receive message and process and response back to the sender.
    Sometimes it will correct correctly. Sometime the message will come and stay in XI and fails with error

    I observed that the messages will stay in transaction "SXMS_SAMON" . and will fail after sometime.
    What might be the reason. ? what need to do to stop these kind of errors?
    Thanks
    Deepthi.

    Hi Praveen,
    Webservice <--> XI -->BW .
    BPM :
    start ->Receive(Request)> Transformation(Responsemap)>Send(SendtoBW)->Send(Send Response) ---> stop.
    Messages are getting struck in SMQ1 and SM58 at these three points.
    1. Message comes and stays in SXMB_MONI in status "Log Version"
    The messages are stuck in SMQ1 in READY status without doing any processing.
    XBQO$PE_WS90100002    WORKFLOW_LOCAL_100 1 READY 26.02.2009
    Once I push the queue by Activating/Unlocking, it will process.
    2. when it is trying to send the message to R/3 (Backend system) it is waiting in SM58 with below entry.
    WF-BATCH SWW_WI_EXECUTE_INTERNAL_RFC WORKFLOW_LOCAL_100 Transaction recorded
    Manually I execute LUW to push it. Once I done the message will go to R/3 system and Response mapping also complete.
    3. Again it is waiting at SM58 with below deatails while sending the response to sender.
    PIAFUSER  SWW_WI_COMP_EVENT_RECEIVE_IBF  WORKFLOW_LOCAL_100  Transaction recorded
    we are again manually execute LUW. Once we done the response message will go back to Sender.
    Any Idea to solve this..?

  • BPM Sync/Async Problem

    I am trying to setup the sync/Async bridge.Scenario is below.
    Receive (Open Sync/Async Bridge) --> Send Async > Receive Async> Send (Close sync/Async)
    I am doing exactly those steps which is provided in Pattern.
    Following are in the interfaces.
    Sync Interface to post message to BPM (OutBound)
    (This interface is exposed as WebService)
    Abstract Sync Interface used by BPM.
    Async Abstract Interface for Request Message used by Container.
    Async Abstract Interface for Response Message used by Container.
    Async Inbound Interface to receive message sent by BPM in Async Send Process.
    Async Outbound Interface to send message to BPM by Async Receive.
    All the configuration Sender agreement/receieve agreement/interface determination/Receive Determination looks fine.
    On posting soap data I get the following exception.

  • Need help with scenario BPM Http-RFC Sync/async bridge

    hi all!
    i've got the following scenario: HTTP-BPM(XI)-RFC synchronous both of them. for that, i'm using S/A bridge in the BPM, but i'm getting the error 'Timeout condition of pipeline reached'. i think the problem is that the process gets lost in the sync/async communication, because in the trace level shows CL_XMS_PLSRV_CALL_BPE-ENTER_PLSRV" and after that every message are 'wait time starting'.
    don't know the reason of the error. Maybe I missed something to configure?
    the BPM is like this:
    Receiver(Open Sync/Async bridge) -> Transformation (mapping from http request to RFC request) -> SyncSend (RFC request and response) -> Transformation (mapping from rfc response to http response) -> Send (Close S/A Bridge)
    the IR is configured like this:

    mt_cxml_request -> contains xsd of xcml request template.
    mt_cxml_response -> contains xsd of xcml response template.

    hi all,
    i've removed the transformations from the BPM, and i've created:
    in IR:
    - interface mapping: im_xcml_request_to_rfc_request_sync_abs
                                    source interface: mi_cxml_request-sync_abs
                                    target interface: mi_rfc_request_sync_abs
    in ID:
    - receiver determination: |VW| mi_cxml_request_sync_abs
                                      sender service: VW
                                      interface: mi_cxml_request_sync_abs
                                      receiver: DES
                                      interface mapping:im_xcml_request_to_rfc_request_sync_abs
    - interface determination: |VW| mi_cxml_erquest_sync_abs ||
                                         sender service: VW
                                         interface: mi_cxml_request_sync_abs
                                         inbound interface: mi_rfc_request_sync_abs
                                         interface mapping: im_xcml_request_to_rfc_request_sync_abs
    - receiver agreement: |VW| |DES| mi_rfc_request_sync_abs
                                   sender service: VW
                                   receiver service: DES
                                   receiver interface: mi_rfc_request_sync_abs
    not sure these are the steps i had to do for mapping xml to rfc. but the result is the same error as before, the timeout.
    i couldn't test with RTW because i'm getting an error 401 unauthorized.
    i'd do it without BPM but the issue is that i wanted to add another step that would be to send the response from rfc to mail too once i got this BPM running. i mean, the response from RFC would be sent to http response and mail both.
    the only way i can imagine to do it is with BPM but i'm really fed up with it.
    thank u very much folks

  • Questions on async and sync's unit tests

    Hi All
    I write a API project and that have sync and async method.
    Then I also write a unit tests for them.
    What I want to ask is how to write them is better ?
    public abstract class ApiProxyBase
            protected async Task<T>
    GetDataAsync<T>(IRestRequest restRequest, bool ignoreSslCertificateValidation
    = true) where T
    : ApiResponse, new()
            protected T
    GetData<T>(IRestRequest restRequest, bool ignoreSslCertificateValidation
    = true  where T
    : ApiResponse, new();
       public class GameServerApiProxy : ApiProxyBase, IGameServerApiProxy
    async Task<GetGameRedirectResponse>
    GetGameRedirectAsync(GetGameRedirectRequest request) ;
        public GetGameRedirectResponse GetGameRedirect(GetGameRedirectRequest request)
        public class GameServerApiProxyTest : TestsBase
            [Test]
            public async void Can_Get_Game_RedirectUrl_Async()
                await LogIn();
                var response
    = await _gameServerApiProxy.GetGameRedirectAsync(new GetGameRedirectRequest());
                response.Url.Should().NotBeNull();
                LogOut();
            [Test]
            public void Can_Get_Game_RedirectUrl()
                LogInSync();
                var response
    = _gameServerApiProxy.GetGameRedirect(new GetGameRedirectRequest());
                response.Url.Should().NotBeNull();
                LogOut();

    I have an
    article on asynchronous unit testing. I'd say your async unit test method should be async Task and not async void. Other than that, it looks good. In particular, since your interface has both synchronous and asynchronous APIs, you should have tests for
    both of them.

  • Sync/Async communication in JMS adapter without BPM

    Hi,
    as of SP19 XI's JMS adapter offers this new feature for Sync/Async communication through JMS Adapter modules instead of using a BPE.
    Now I would be interested to know if anybody has already successfully used this feature especially using WebSphere MQ as a JMS Provider (preferredly in the mode JMS Compliant: WebSphere MQ (non-JMS)).
    I experienced some issues with the XI Message ID being used as the JMS Correlation ID which is then mapped to the MQ Correlation ID being truncated after 24 characters. So I don't exactly know whether this is due to wrong setup or some general issues with this messaging system.
    Please let me know if you have any experiences at all with this new feature (please do not just post links to the following blogs, which I have thoroughly studied as well as the How-to Guide concerning this topic)

    Hi Peter,
    we working on the same Problem. Using IBM Websphere MQ as JMS Provider for the new feature: sync/async bridge without BPE.
    we switched on a high level trace for the adapter framework and saw a problem in the receiving Object of the JMS correlation id. The notify bean receives the JMS correlationid in hex format. so the beans have two different correlations, which could not find together.
    did you have any solution to get this new feature works with IBM Websphere ?

  • Sync/Async brdige error in BPM

    Hi,
       I am working on RFC-TO-Webservice scenario(Synchronous) and I am using the BPM in this scenario.
    In BPM just I have used 2 steps.
    Receive - Opened Sync/Async bridge
    Send - Synchrouns step
    Send - Cloase the Receive step
    Send - Asynchrous send step (to send the response to the file...).
    When I sent my RFC message from R/3 I am getting following error.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>

    I am using PI 7.0 SP13 is why I am not able to receive the Sync message in BPM...I have created the abstract interface based on RFC...getting the first message itself Timeout error.
    I am trying to use Sync/Asnc bridge in BPM. First message itself PL_TIMEOUT error..bpm is not able to receive my rfc request...
    I need help on this...do I need to do any settings in WEBAS level..I did Timeout setting in SXMB_ADM.

    check this blog..and same thing I did in my scenario
    my scenario is RFC-TO-Webservice.
      Sync/Async bridge can't we use like this ...Receiver step(open sync/async)-> Send(Synchronous)-Send(Close sync bridge)....that way can't we use ...
    I am not able to receive the RFC request itself inside my BPM first step...getting the Timeout error.
    But when I use the RECEIVE STEP with Asynchronous mode..I am able to receive the message inside my bpm.Incase of Synchronous I am not able to receive the message..
    I am working PI 7.0 and SP13..did any body worked this version...

  • Call sync BPM from Async BPM - issue

    Hi,
    Outline: I'm trying to call a synchronous BPM from an asynchronous BPM in a PI 7.0 SP 14 system.
    When doing so i get the following error: Object CL_SWF_XI_MSG_BROKER method SEND_SYNCHRON cannot be executed.
    Now this is an oldie when searching the forums for this error message. I do however fail to see a solution to the problem.
    Note that the following notes (referred to in similar posts)
    - 710445
    - 718734
    - 830803
    are implemented since theese refer to older versions of PI.
    My scenario is very simple at present since i've startet from scratch again after getting the error. So what i do is:
    1) send async message to async BPM
    2) async BPM receives request
    3) async bpm transform request til sync_request.
    4) async BPM calls synchronous BPM
    5) sync BPM receives request and opens a async/sync bridge
    6) sync BPM maps request to response
    7) sync BPM sends response and closes async/sync bridge
    8) async BPM reveices sync_response
    9) async BPM sends sync_response to some application
    Now step 8 i never succesfully executed. Instead the error earlier described is triggered.
    For simplicity i use 1 and only 1 message type in all message interfaces. I have mapping between my synchronous interfaces outside of BPM.
    The synchronus BPM is executed just fine. The only issue is getting the reponse back to the asynchronous BPM.
    I am familiar with the following similar posts:
    - Object CL_SWF_XI_MSG_BROKER method SEND_SYNCHRON cannot be executed
    - Problem in posting the data in the syncronous mode
    but find them to be of no use.
    Hope someone can help.
    Best Regards,
    Daniel

  • Correlation issue in JMS adapter - SYNC/ASYNC scenario without BPM

    Hi,
    I am working on a SYNC/ASYNC scenario with JMS adapter without using BPM. My scenario is SOAP<>PI>JMS. I configured the interface as below:
    1. SOAP Sender channel
    2. JMS Receiver Channel writing to Queue A.
         Module used:      a. RequestOneWayBean
                   b. WaitResponseBean
         Correlation Settings:
                   a. Set JMS Correlation ID to "XI Message ID"
                   b. Store JMS CorrelationID of request (Checked)
                   c. Set JMS Property to "JMS Correlation Id"
                   d. Value = "XI MEssage ID"
    3. JMS Sender channel reading from queue B ( I am exporting the message from queue A and importing into queue B)
         Module used:      a. NotifyResponseBean
         Correlation Settings:
                   a. Set XI MEssage Id to "GUID"
                   b. Set XI Conversation ID to "Stored JMS COrrelationID of Request"
    I can see the cid in the message from queue A. But I observed thhat the header format of the message in Queue A is "MQSTR".
    ISSUE:
    1. While writing the message to queue A, below adapter log details(part b) concerned me:

  • BPM Design using sync-async  bridge

    Hi Arpit,
    Below mentioned is an overview of the process flow which we are trying to implement.
    1. A synchronous interface takes in the request
    2. After the mapping, a file is created
    3. Another file adapter reads this file and sends a message back to the sync interface. This step is to make sure that the file is created
    I'm using a sync-async bridge for this process, since file creation and reading processes are asynchronous and the request/response is synchronous.
    Can somebody help me by telling how to design the BPM. How many send and receive steps are required etc?
    Thanks,
    Sandeep

    Hi
    <i>>>I have to map the incoming xml from HTTP to another format before creating the file.</i>
    Ya then u can use the transform Step in between the
    sync Recv ---> Transform ---> Send to File System
    <i>>>Once a file is read, that interface has to send an acknowledgement message telling the status.</i>
    Wht type of acknowledgement msg telling the status.
    I think u can add another element in ur created file payload like <b>Status</b>: Created (ConstanT)
    Then u can map the payload of the readed file with tis payload having Ststus init.Fo this u need a <b>Transformation</b> Step.
    BTW i was searching some previous blogs and i got this and it is bit related to ur scenario.Go thru this

    Hope it helps.

  • BPM - Receive Sync/ASync Bridge Problem

    Hi,
    I am creating a scenario for an inbound Synch request to be serviced by a BPM process.
    Here is the problem that I am facing while trying to configure the Receive Step
    - I created a Message Interface defined as Abstract Synchronous.
    - I created a process model and put in a Receive Step: Mode - Opens S/A Bridge, Synchronous Interface - defined as above.
    - I define a container with Abstract type. But when I try to locate the above defined Abstract Synch message interface, I cannot find it.
    - As a workaround, I create another Abstract Message Interface defined as Abstract ASynch.
    - I create a container with this Abstract ASynch message type.
    - I use this container in the Receive Step.
    But activating the Business Process gives the error:
    Message to be received and Synchronous Interface do not have identical types.
    Can someone give me the correct procedure to configure the Sync / ASync Bridge ? thanks,
    -Manish

  • Sync / Async Bridge without BPM

    Hi All,
    I was trying to implement the Sync / Async Bridge without the BPM. I am trying a HTTP to JMS Sync / Async Bridge. I have followed the following link and done exactly the same as shown in the document
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/EN/45/20d2b4c20a0732e10000000a155369/content.htm
    I have used a Java application which will poll the request queue and then place the message in the response queue with the same correlation ID frm the request queue.
    After following the above link the response message was not appearing, the message were going to deilvering status and after some time i found that they were cancelled without errors
    I searched in the forums for many solutions but what i found was this thread which stated that since the XI message ID is 32 bytes and Correlation ID is only 24 bytes its difficult for Modules to identify the response since the correlation is truncated.
    JMS: Synch/Async bridge - how to configure
    I tried changing the configuration in the reciver JMS channel to XI Conversion ID instead of Message ID and this also doesnt give me fruitfull results. The message was not being placed in the request queue, it gave an error saying that the conversion id was null. Though in the thread it seems to have worked for him.
    After this i planned to dynamically generate a Correlation ID (a dummy one) of 24bytes and i sent it to the request queue this time the message was retrived from the response queue only to find that the correlation ID this time has been converted to some other format
    Corrletion ID sent to the request queue: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWX
    Corrlation ID coming in the response queue : 4142434445464748494a4b4c4d4e4f505152535455565758
    Can anyone put some light on what i exactly need to do or tell me why the conversion ID worked for Daneil in the thread and it gave me an error saying that the Conversion id is null
    Rgds
    Aditya

    Hi Prateek,
    This is what was tried in my first case. I did exactly what was given in that link.But since the Message id being 32 bytes and length of correlation id is 24 bytes id is getting truncated.
    So its not working fine.
    @ke i am having a look at the note will update you on this
    Thanks for your response

  • Sync Async without BPM and JMS.

    Hi Guys,
    Searched SDN a lot but in vain...
    i have soap(Sync) to File(Async) synario...Soap response can have like this "PI system received message"..
    How can i, with out BPM?
    Thanks
    Prabhakar

    i have soap(Sync) to File(Async) synario...Soap response can have like this "PI system received message"..
    If the SOAP is mandatorily working in SYNC mode then the above solution wont work (SOAP --> XI --> SOAP)....this will be treated as two different calls for the SOAP and the solution would have worked for ASYNC flow.
    Why do you need PI system received message .... if i send a SOAP message and if it is successfully send from the SOAP application then I would get a 200 OK message which would indicate that everything was fine till sending the message to the XI/ PI system.
    If SYNC communication is needed then implement a BPM with a SYNC-ASYNC bridge.
    Regards,
    Abhishek.
