Sync between logic pro 7 and mpc 2500

hello all. i am having a problem with my production set-up. i have synced logic pro 7 with my mpc 2500 (mpc as slave). the main problem is that logic is triggering a drum on the mpc when i press record. basically, the drum plays along with the click at all times. the only thing that stops this is turning of the drum kit, which of course makes it where i can't play it. i also have a problem with the mpc responding when i press play in logic. can someone please help me?

If you have set everything up correctly, the MPC should send a signal into the computer. To trigger sounds you set up a MIDI track and select 1A. Then open the plug-in/sound source and load a patch onto midi channel one. You will then hear the sounds when you hit the pads. Its exactly the same as setting up a keyboard, except now when you hit record on the MPC you can record the midi data and create loops. V Useful!!!

  • Difference between logic pro 7 and 8

I'm just wondering if there's a difference between the Logic Studio ($500), and Logic Pro 8..or does Logic Pro 8 simply come within the Logic Studio package? Is there a big difference between Logic Pro 7 and 8? Also, is it worth the $200 upgrade?

    Hi,
Logic Studio: Logic Pro 8, Soundtrack Pro and MainStage.
So yes, Logic Pro 8 is part of the 'Logic Studio' package, which also contains the two other apps.

Take a look at the Logic Pro 8/Logic Studio forum. There are mixed opinions on whether it is worth upgrading yet or not.
    Good Luck!

  • Logic Pro 7 with MPC 2500

There was a few post that I read on this topic but none didn't seem to help! I'm trying to sequence Logic's instruments into the MPC 2500, I had this theory that I can use Logic as a sound module, with Logic being the sounds and the Project Mix I/O being the box deploying the midi and audio. I have a Remote 25 SL connected to the MacBook Pro via USB, midi out from the Remote 25 SL to midi in on the MPC 2500, midi out from the MPC 2500 to midi in on the Project MIx I/O. In Logic there is a instrument track created in the midi instrument enviorment along with a multi channel instr., the port is assigned to "Project Mix Control". On the MPC I have sync out to midi clock, and when I press record + play Logic's grid turns blue and the bar moves; I trigger the notes on the Remote 25 SL but the MPC doesn't record the events, in the main screen on the MPC type is "Midi PGM is "OFF, and Midi "1A". Please help me figure this out, all inputs are greatly appreciated.

  • Difference between Logic Pro 9 and Logic Studio?

I have garage band and I notice that the instruments available are extremely limited, so I am looking to upgrade solely for the idea of getting more instruments and more features. Does the app store Logic Pro 9 have the extensive amount of official instruments to download for free? Or are there additional costs if you are looking to purchase the instruments for the app store logic 9?
I know that the studio version has mainstage, compressor and other programs etc, but what I am looking to find out is if there is a difference between what instruments, resources and materials found in the $210 Logic 9 and the Logic Studio version that you can't download for free from inside Logic 9?
    Thanks

The instruments themselves are embedded within the Logic application, with the exception of the sample libraries for the EXS24 and Ultrabeat. All of the content, including the various Jampacks and sample libraries are available to download

    No.... free

The "Studio" DVD's include the now defunct Soundtrack Pro, which had around 20G of loops, beds and sound FX. Some of that material is now available for Final Cut X.
A few utility programs are also missing (Waveburner etc).

  • Are there compatibility issues between Logic Pro 9 and Mavericks?

As the marker passes over the Arrange-window (when playing or recording) it leaves the space behind it black. Does anybody know why this happens and how to deal with it? I haven't yet had any other problems (besides the usual loss of some EXS-samples.

Only Logic Pro 9.1.8 is officially supported under Mavericks. So: update!

  • Synchronization problems between Logic Pro 8 and Roland's groovebox MC-909

    Hi everybody,
I recently purchased a (used) Roland MC-909 and tried to synchronize it with Logic but the whole procedure seems too complicated.
Logic gets digital audio input (S/PDIF-RCA) from the MC-909 (through M-audio Fast Track Pro) and I've tried all shorts of adjustments (e.g. connecting Logic's MIDI out (through M-audio Fast Track Pro) to Roland's MIDI in port and the opposite with different master/slave setups etc.).
I can't get these two to synchronize.I suppose there is a logical solution for everything, but I'm really running out of patience...
I want to use Logic Studio to internally record Roland's (synchronized!!) audio output, avoiding sampling patterns from Roland and then transferring them to Logic (import audio file). After that,I would like to use these two combined in a live set.
I hope there are people out there having faced similar problems in the past...share any bit of useful info please..
    Thanks everybody!
    Mario,Greece

MIDI Out from Logic via the M-Audio interface.
In Logic's synchronization setup, be sure "Transmit MIDI Clock" is enabled and the port is selected.
In the Roland, set clock to external/slave, you may have to press play, the unit should now wait for, and sync to MIDI clock from Logic.
caveat... I don't have a Roland unit, but this way ---should--- (hate that word) work.

  • Conflict between Logic Pro and external device error in Logic Pro X./cpu problems

    hi Logic users,
    using a MacBookPro 15 inch Retina, 2,7 GHz intel Core i7, 16 GB Ram, OSX 10,8,5, Logic X 10.0.4.
i am wondering if you can help me out with the following problem i cant solve:
when starting logic x with a not too big arrangement, lets say using one third to half of cpu, i open u-he plugin Diva and the cpu is going up on full range and the following error appears: "sample-rate 39299 (number always changes) reconized. Check conflict between logic pro x and external device"
as external device im running a VirusTi and as audio-device Apogge Duet. when dis-connecting both devices, i have the same problem.
putting the sample buffer up to the highest rate, doesnt change anything.
same arrangements on friends computers dont show that problem, so it has to be something wrong in my set up.
    anybody has an idea?
would be much appreciated for your help,
    thanx-

Have you used Diva's preset Accuracy system to reduce CPU load?
    accuracy
Click on the Main button at the bottom of the window. To the right of the Master section are two selectors called Accuracy and OfflineAcc. In the current version of Diva these are global parameters i.e. they remain fixed across all presets, per loaded instance:
draft........CPU-friendly, but FM will sound rough and resonance is primitive i.e. NOT zero delay! fast......... Fine for older computers and/or when you need more polyphony in acceptable quality great...... The best compromise between quality and polyphony on high-power computers divine..... Top-quality zero delay feedback filters... but can your computer can handle it?
OfflineAcc only has two options – same or best (i.e. divine in the current version).
Some host applications may have problems rendering to audio at the selected accuracy, but the
better ones include an “inform plug-ins of offline rendering status” or similar.
I typically work in draft mode and then switch to Devine or best when freezing the track or bouncing the entire project...

  • Conflict between Logic pro 7.2.2 and DIGI002 using a macbook pro

    Hi.
I'm running Logic pro 7.2.2 on a macbook Pro using a DIGI002 rack as audio interface. I experience an extremely bad performance from my computer and keep getting these warnings: "conflict between Logic Pro and external device (digi002)" and the application runs VERY slow! I have updated all drivers but that hasn't helped! I practically can't use Logic at all, as it complaints when hardly running any tracks in a session. Has anybody experinced or heard of it before? It has really started to get on my nerves!!!!

    Hi,
I am running Logic Pro with a Digi002 Rack.My driver versions are:
    Digi Core Audio manager 7.1.1cs1
ProTools LE v7.1.1cs1 also the first Intel compatible version of ProToolsLE.
    Logic Pro 7.2.2
All of this works, and I even use the Digi002 also to playback audio from iTunes,iMovieHD,iDVD,and Quicktime Pro,without any problems at all.
Are you able to run ProToolsLE well,or is it exhibiting the same problems?
Are you using the internal drive as a record drive,or do you have an external firewire drive for audio? This is important.I would recommend NEVER using the internal drive for recording audio,it can make the drive unusable after a while.
It would be good to know if you do have the latest drivers for the Digi002,and are able to run iTunes etc... If that is the case then going and removing all of Logic Pro preference files, and re-selecting the Digi002 interface as the audio hardware might do the trick. Also, check Audio Midi setup and make sure it sees the Digi002 correctly.
Lastly, and this suggestion no one seems to give...is simply this:check ALL your firewire cables, and if they look even a little frayed, replace them. Also, please put the Digi002 in the following order,if you are daisy chaining multiple firewire devices:
    MacBook Pro
    \Digi002 Rack
    \\firewire hard drive(s)
\\\any external DVD/CDburners,ESPECIALLY if the manufacturer recommends this position for heir device.
\\\\any other external devices(cameras, printers, whatever)and have them OFF when running Logic or ProTools.
I hope some of this helps,
    Cheers,
    Nick

  • Does Apple allow functionality between Logic Pro and Airport Express

That's it... Does Apple allow functionality between Logic Pro and Airport Express.
If not, Why not. It seems like such a logical Apple type solution. I looked and find it difficult to believe nobody has asked the question...

  • Is there a difference between Logic Pro and Logic Pro X?

Maybe this is a stupid question, but is there a difference between Logic Pro and Logic Pro X?
    Already thx!

    Hi
    Short answer: No
    Longer answer:
Logic Pro X is the latest release version of the DAw known as "Logic Pro". Previous versions were: Logic Pro 9, Logic Pro 8 etc.
There was also a "Logic Express" (no longer available) which, though similar to Logic Pro, was missing a few features of Logic Pro in it's later versions)
    This might add more details:

  • Soundflower, Logic Pro X and Ustream

I broadcast a show on Ustream in which I play the saxophone against trax that I have
loaded into iTunes. I play the sax into an apogee USB mic. I also use that same mic
to talk to the audience while trax are playing, at which time I need to adjust the level of the track
and the mic. I’m working on a Mac Pro with Logic Pro X.
Up until now, here’s what I’ve been doing.
    In Mac Audio Midi Setup:
I set the output device in Audio Midi Setup to Soundflower (2ch).
I set the input device in Audio Midi Setup to Mic.
    In Logic Pro X:
In preferences I set the input device to Mic, and the output to
    to Soundflower (2ch)
    In Ustream:
I set the input to Soundflower (2ch)
    For monitoring:
I set the Soundflowerbed desktop app to route from Soundflower to Built-in Output which I then
listen to on my headphones as I do the show.
This works, in a fashion, but is extremely awkward, in that the only way to lower the music track levels when I want to speak on the mic is by lowering the slider on iTunes.
Here’s what I want to do, but can’t yet figure out, despite many attempts:
I want to route both the iTunes and the mic into Logic Pro X.
I want to be able to mix both the mic and the trax in Logic Pro X and then
output it into Ustream for broadcast.
I also want to be able to monitor the mix though my headphones.
I’ve tried creating aggregate devices and multi-output devices but can’t seem to get what i want.
The permutations I’ve tried and the problems are too numerous and varied to list here.
But I’d appreciate any ideas on how to accomplish running a system + mic input into logic,
mixing in there, and then piping the combined trax out through Ustream.
    Thanks.
    david

    serisony,
Make sure your router allows or has multicast enabled... as this is required..
    and..
Check if you have a firewall operating either on your Mac or in your Router... (On the Mac this also includes apps like Little Snitch... and not just the OS X firewall itself.)

Well, how have to determined no signal is being recieved to your mac?
Have you got something that shows the actual signal? Or have you just been trying to control a VST? What software are you using by the way?
I personnally went with a AKAI MPK25, because it's made already mapped for logic & ableton etc, so it just makes things incredibly easy.
I would suggest you return it if you can as a dead unit & perhaps look at something else a bit easier?
Otherwise, if you just want to get this working we can have a look a bit deeper.
    And driver? OS X driver?
