Sync between two different music libraries

Hi everyone,
I synced my iPhone4 on my music friend library on his computer, now I'm trying to import that music to my computer signed with my apple ID but iTunes wont let me do cause the music synced on my iphone will be erased, I tried to select the transfer purchases but when I did the back up didnt contain that music and I lost every thing then when I restored from the back up,
Any idea on how I can do it over without losing that music?

When you copy your friends music, then you are stealing it.
When you, or anyone buys music ( on a cd/download/etc), you are buying the right to your own persohnal use of the music.  It is not legal to distribute this music to others.

  • When syncing between two different iTunes (work and home), can I copy ??

Can I copy from the iPod to my work laptop iTunes Library?? I'm a little worried because i think my home desktop is crashing, but I've got 15 gigs of great music right now on my iPod. When I'm "Managing files" myself on the work laptop, can I somehow import from the iPod to the laptop... so they are effectively copied back onto a hard disk???
Please help, I'm fretting that these songs are going to be lost!!! Uggg!!

You can't sync or drag your music back directly from an iPod to iTunes, the transfer of music is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward.

  • ITunes playcount syncing between two different machines (9.1)

    Hi
Home share is almost perfect but it does not allow me to sync my playcounts within my iTunes library. I have a imac which is the main guts of my network, but I use a laptop for bits and bats. This includes occasionally downloading or playing music. It annoys me that it does not sync the playcount. My apple TV does, my iphone and ipods do - why not the laptop.
I have a network, and have considered putting the itunes library on a shared drive with my airport extreme - is this efficient? I'm imagining that it will take a while to fill the library etc over the wireless network. I was hoping someone may have come up with a script to deal with this issue, but nothing so far....
    Anyone any ideas?
    Thanks

  • To synchronize two different music libraries on two different harddisks

Hi, how can I save and synchronize my music library or the imported audio files in two differents repertories on two differents extern harddisks.
For instance: I have two harddisks, one for my desktop (with XP) and another for my Macbook pro.
I'd like to have exactly the same music library on both disks at the same time and synchronized. So when one song is on disk 1, it's saved also on disk2, when both disks are of course connected on the same computer.
When I download some Mp3 or when I rip audio cd I want them on both disks.
Another solution would be one common disk between desktop and notebook but I need also my audio files when I'm on my way, by another place.
    Thanks for help

But even doing so, there's only one Calendar on the phone (which would now contain a combination of both Calendar folders on the PC, assuming you only synch in one direction in order not to also mess up the PC's Calendars).

  • How do I Sync my itunes music between two different computers

Can anyone tell me the step-by-step instructions for how to Sync my itunes music between two different computer.... one Mac at work and a second at home. I want to bring over all my work music onto my home Mac, some of which is the same but much of it is different.

Are you able to connect the two computers in any way? For instance is the work computer a laptop that you can bring home and network with your personal one? If the two devices are connected in some away there are a few utilities that can help you sync iTunes across different computers. You could begin your research by having a look at these for instance:
    TuneRanger
    SuperSync

  • Sucsessful sync between two libraries w ChronoSync?

I've read in various places that you can sync between two Aperture Libraries by using ChronoSync with "Dissect packages" turned on - the one major caveat is the sync can only be one way - which library has the newest information has to be written to the other - no two way syncing.
Anyone have this working? It's not one direction sync as I understand it, but which ever direction you select, those changes overwrite anything done since the last time Aperture's database was updated, right?
    Thanks for any feedback.

WIthin my Aperture Library I have both professional and family related work. The way I share family stuff with family is pretty simple. I export the selected family pictures in a project as JPEG files. I import them by reference (don't generate a second copy) into iPhoto. From iPhoto, I have three paths to share: export to my Kodakgallery account, create an album and share on Mobileme and finally, once I have created an album in iPhoto I open iTunes and sync the pictures to my AppleTV. Other family members anywhere in the world can readily see my kodakgallery site as well as my mobileme account.
At home, when family is over, the AppleTV has become the absolute most favorite viewing station, live with music of my selection or theirs!
    Hope this helps.

  • Apple tv and syncing two different iTunes libraries

Is ist possible to sync - or better stream - contetn from two different itunes libraries.
I have an iMac sitting in my office and a amc mini in the livingroom (which was supposed to do the atv-job but failed due to tremendous fan activity)
i would like to connect the appletv to both itunes libraries, because their contents are different.
    Is this possible?

You can only sync from one library but it also streams content that isn;t synced.
You can stream from up to four other libraries as well (or is it five? I can't work out if the one yuo sync from counts as one of the extra streaming libraries or not).

  • HT204053 Is it possible to sync calendars between two different users?

Is it possible to sync calendars between two different users?

    Hi
Installing the drive into the older machine may work, you WILL get a lot of driver errors and the unit may even fail to boot. The other problem is that the drives may not be compatable, the drive in the broken PC is a SATA drive, older PCs had IDE drives with very different connectors.
Your best option is to do as you suggest and obtain a USB caddy and extract the data that way.
Make sure that the caddy you get will support SATA drives (all new ones will).

  • How to keep playlists in sync between two computers?

I have a MacBook Pro and a regular desktop Windows 7, and I have all of my music on both of them. However, I constantly keep adding new songs to different playlists all the time, and this makes it hard to keep everything in sync with both computers and my iPod because I usually sync from my Mac.
Right now I export the updated playlists on one of the computers and import it on the other, but it's quite the hassle just to keep some playlists in sync. I tried using home sharing, but it just keeps downloading duplicates everytime I try to import, I would've thought it was smarter by just adding the new songs but appearently it isn't.
So, anyways, is there any easy way for me to automatically keep playlists in sync between two computers?

I am indeed subscribed to iTunes Match.  Are you saying that with Match, it will sync my playlists?  I will have to check this when I get home.  That would really be a nice surprise!
I sync my iPod to iTunes on my Windows 7 box, but use iTunes on my Mac for synching my iPhone 6 and iPad 2.  Normally, I'd be modifying a playlist on the Win 7 box, adding or rearranging songs.  However, occasionally, I might download a song to the iPhone while out and about.  Then, when I'm back at the Mac, I'd do a sync and add that new song to one of the playlists.  Should Match then be keeping the playlists on the two machines in sync?
As for the library replication, I had to do that when I first signed up for Match.  I was WAY over the 25k song limit, so I made a copy of the library, and in that copy deleted enough songs to get me under the limit.  Also discovered scripting and did some really neat things with that tool.  Still have the option when I start iTunes to use the old library, just in case there's something there I need to copy to the smaller lib.

I am looking for the best way (or any way) to interact between two different frames in the same indesign template as well as from one template to another. It's for a DPS app which needs to carry some button initiated data from one page to another and then present it in a table.

There is no simple way to do it, as itunes wont let you use it on another computer without wiping the contents first.
    However if you really want to transfer songs to another computer then you could try this;
    * make sure that your ipod is accessible as a disk drive (ipod options)
    * when you plug your ipod into the computer you want to transfer to make sure you select "no" or "cancel" when it asks to wipe the contents. Leave the ipod connected and quit from itunes.
    * go to "my computer" and access the ipod directly. You probably have to select "view hidden files" from windows. You will see a lot of folders with odd names like ZX838aff with similar named files inside.
    * copy these files to a folder on your computers hardrive. Now remove the ipod and start itunes.
    * import the files from the folder you made in the last step.
    * Now your music is on itunes, but with unrecogisable names.
This is the only way I have found to do it, but there may be another way, say with an application to do the hard work for you.

Copy it to his computer into his iTunes library and authorize his computer with the iTunes account used to purchase them..
You cannot tranfser items from one iTunes account to another. Purchased items remain part of the iTunes account is was purchased with.
iTunes account - used to purchase items
iTunes library - where purchases (and CD RIPs) go on the computer

  • Synching to Two Different iTunes Libraries

What are the risks and other considerations in using two different iTunes libraries to send photos to an iPad?
My iPad is synched to my home iMac. I have added photos to the iPad via the iTunes. After some experimentation, I have discovered that if I do not use iPhoto, I can only have photos on my iPad that exist in a singe folder on my iMac. While that is a painful limitation, I can live with it.
Ok, so now suppose I have taken my MacBookAir on vacation with my iPad. (Assume a foreign country with no 3G connectivity or hot spot.) I have taken a bunch of photos and uploaded them from my camera to the MBA, edited them in Photoshop and now want to share the edited photos with friends over dinner.
After overthinking the problem for longer than I care to admit, my "well-duh" moment arrived when I realized that all I have to do is to connect my iPad to the MBA via cable, go to the photos section of iTunes and select my newly edited photos.
I do not have the MBA synched to my home library.
What happens to my existing photos when I transfer my new photos? Gone, is my guess. What about everything else on the iPad that I have synched to the home computer, like music library? Also gone?
In short, is there a way to transfer these photos from my MBA to my iPad without wiping out the rest of what is stored?
I've wallowed around some and seen suggestions like Drop Box, Transfer etc. I'm not sure, but these probably require a wireless connection, and I won't have one. I do have the camera upload kit, but I have not experimented with whether I can transfer edited photos from my MBA onto an SD card for transfer to the iPad (i.e., I do not know whether the files have to be created by a camera, or whether edited photos will work).
Any strategies out there for doing simply what I am trying to do would be appreciated.

You're right; it's not the multiple folders problem I was unhappy about. It was having to put everything in the same parent folder and not being able to select individual photos or folders from other parents that was modestly irritating. Oh well. Maybe iOS version 5 . . . .
As far as photo transfer goes, the iTunes synch may be my only way. I guess I could set up a parent folder on my MBA called "iPad Transfer" and put everything I want--new and old--into it so that every time I synch I get everything.
I'm concerned, however, that the camera connection kit I bought may not be very useful to me. My digital camera is compact flash, so to use the card reader I will have to go out and buy an SD card at the very least. But since I have no device I know of to format the card for a DCIM folder, I think I'm out of luck. There isn't any way to format a new card with a DCIM folder if you don't have an SD camera, is there?
The only way I can think of to use the kit is to transfer shots directly from my camera. These would be unedited, and I'll have to transfer all of them. I'm pretty sure that it is not advisable to transfer edited photos back to a compact flash card, since the camera probably won't read them and will probably screw up the card formatting.
I did try to connect my Compact Flash card via my (non-powered) Lexar card reader and the USB connector that came with the camera connection kit, but no luck. The iPad says it won't work because it uses too much power.
Any other workarounds that you know of?

  • How do I merge different music libraries on the same computer. I have Iphone and an ipod

I have an Iphone and my wife has ipod nano. We both have different music libraries. Itunes on my mac doesnot allow the merging of libraries. Is there a way of doing so without lossing the music

You can have identical libraries (contents, playlists and related information) if you set each user's account to reference the same .itl file.
Have a look at this article in the Apple Knowledge Base for details on how to do so.
By using the Choose Library option and linking the accounts to the same .itl file, the libraries will be the same and changes made to one will be reflected in the others.
If you don't want completely identical Libraries but just access to the same files to build separate Libraries with, see this article .

  • How to transfer app data between two different game center accounts?

Hello, I really need some help.
I have looked all over the web for ways to transfer apps between two different game center accounts and different devices. Several weeks ago I started playing Campus Life on my relative's Ipad 2, therefore spending many long hours to get to this point in the game.
The problem is I just got an Iphone 5 and I really would like to transfer the data onto it, so that I would not need to start all over again.
My grandma has an account (Game Center) onto which the data has been saved and I would like to have it stored onto mine. On some forum someone said to sign into the account which has the data on both devices and to then open up the game on the new device. It worked. Then I signed out and logged in with my own account- the game started from scratch. I panicked. I went back on the other account, and the data reappeared. I have been going back and forth, the game changing as many times. I thought it would ask to back up my grandma's data on mine but I was wrong. I can not seem to save the game onto my new account, and I have even tried to back it up to Itunes and then copy it onto my phone after having signed into my own account. And I don't know how to properly use Icloud. I am a mess. I am completely lost and have found no help on the web. (All people seem to have to deal with is sharing Apple IDs with different Game Center Accounts for the kids and transferring apps from one of their devices to another.)
I am so worried I am going to mess up and will lose the whole thing completely.
I have just started another game with my own account but since I am using my grandma's, the data is erased. It's one or the other but I definitely prefer saving Campus Life. I do not like the idea of having to only pick one.
I do not know any technical terms, so if you understand or even have the slightest clue about what I am talking about, I applaud you.
This seems like mission impossible, so if anyone can help in any way, I would be really grateful.
Thanks in advance for your time and thoughts!

I meant to press on "This solved my question"... Sorry if you needed the points.
Thank-you and I will just go back and forth between the accounts.
