Sync bookmarks + E90 = System Error

Hello,
i bought the "business phone" E90, but the business stops now.
I have the latest E90 FW and PC Suite. Windows XPSP3. I can sync all BUT not the Bookmarks. If I choose to sync the Bookmarks I get a "System Error" (Systemfehler) IN the phone.
Bevor 2 days I hardreset the phone and installed the backup back to the phone.
Where can I get the log-files or other business-related information about that error.
Is there a debug-mode or MORE Information about this error in the symbian os ? Or is it a business-black-box ?

Cannot sync to Ovi-system error on screen of 5800

I've been using Ovi sync very happily for weeks and now when I try and sync my 5800 it tries to connect,promptly disconnects and then displays a 'system error' message onscreen.
Is Ovi sync down?
I've gone into 'manage devices', removed my device and then set it up again from scratch (getting sync settings via SMS etc) but even with the new profile I still get the same error message.
Any thoughts?

I have the same problem. The problem occurred, but may be unrelated, after I noticed that my funambol sync client was no longer working. I then upgraded to a newer version (overwriting the old). However, it would still not work. So I tried it again, a different way (uninstalling the old, installing the new). Now Funambol sync client does not even connect, it just quits with technical error.
Using Nokia's native sync functionality results instantly in a System Error. I guess the problem should be sought in the accessibility of the contacts and calendar databases in the phone, rather than in any network functionality. But hey, who am I?

E90 - System error on trying to synchronise

My e90 has synchronised OK with Outlook contacts on my PC OK for over a year.
Last week I found a contact missing from the 'phone contacts. Checking carefully I found a "blank" record in the correct place in an alpha listing. I assume that the record is corrupt, and cannot delete it.
When trying to synchronise using PC Suite I get a sytem error - but the 'phone connects as it and the memory card can be browsed from the PC.
PC is running XPP SP2 & PC Sync is version 6.86.9.3

System Error while syncing calendar MfE

I get a system error when the device tries to sync the calendar I did a complete hard reset and re-installed 2.7 and still the same.
Roadsync works fine

Go back to the 2.5.5. version!
It works fine with Exchange 2007.

5800 can't sync-system error

Hi there,
I've just signed up for Ovi and have received and saved the settings for sync'ing from the Ovi message.
I browse to the sync app and each time I try to sync, i get a 'system error' message.
Do I need to do anything else? The help page on Ovi just says save the settings and you're good to go....but I'm sensing there is something else to be done.
Can anybody kindly help?

All sorted. My phone needed, in an unrelated bit of 'fun', a reformat. I then used a pc to log into ovi, remove my device and then add it again and resave the configuration settings from the new text. All working now.

N80 System Error on Sync...but only on one machine...

Hey all,
I just started getting the dreaded "System Error" when syncing my N80 (up-to-date firmware) with PC Suite (up-to-date) on an XP box. I've read all the posts on this topic I could find, and in the past, I've always just shrugged, formatted, and gone on with my life...
But this time is weird - this time, it happens when I cable sync to my work machine, but NOT when I bluetooth sync to my home machine. Wah-huh?
Anyone have any advice on what to look for on the cable-sync (Nokia-approved USB cord) machine? I'd love to avoid formatting once again...

This is my problem to. I try to syncronize my N80 with Outlook. I have PC Suite 6.84.10.3 on XP SP2.
Syncronizing allways stops after 1369 elements, program displays "Waiting for Nokia N80..." while phone displays "System error".

N80: System error on sync?

I had a Nokia 6630 that use to work with Apple's iSync great until 2-3 weeks ago. All of a sudden, iSync would give an error: -
[phone name] Device is not available or synchronization was cancelled. Close dialogs and applications on the phone and try again.

I thought the 6630 may have got messed up somehow and was planning to do a complete re-install, but then was offered a N80 and went with that instead.
I realise the N80 is not supported by iSync, but bought the phone plugin mentioned on the net and being used with great success elsewhere and it almost worked the first time, but then it went back to the same error.
Any ideas how I might be able to fix this? I've tried resetting the phone, re-installing the 10.4.6 update - and I still get the same error.
On the phone, when iSync tries to connect, the phone switches to the Sync app and then comes up with a dialog saying: System error. This is on a new phone that has no issues otherwise. Are there any phone settings I nned to change?
Any ideas here would be most appreciated.

System error when sync e-mail

Hello,
in the menue "Settings - Connectivity - Data transfer - Sync - Options - Synchronise" I get the message "system error" when I want to sync e-mail. The email settings in the sync profile are:
database in phone: ovi
sync e-mail database: ./e-mail/unfiled
Can anybody help.

PCSuite Sync - "System Error"

Recently I have started getting the message "System Error" on my N73 when synchronising with PC Suite. I notice from several posts in this forum that many other people have reported this problem, yet I am not happy with all of the suggested solutions.
I synchronise my N73 with two different PCs, one is Windows 2000 and the other Windows Vista (still waiting for my company to upgrade us to Windows XP!!). This has worked well for a long time, and allows me to have a synchronised calendar at work, home and everywhere I go. (Both PCs use Bluetooth to sync regularly when the phone is in range).
I have not updated either the phone nor any of the PC suite applications, so I can only conclude that the System Error is caused by a corrupt entry in the calendar, contacts or something else that is being synchronised.
*** My request to Nokia is that having reached the point where the synchronisation fails, can you highlight the entry so that it can be resolved by the operator?
I have over 500 contacts and over 6 months of calendar synchronised in my N73, therefore wiping all of the data in the phone is not an option I wish to persue. I can confirm that it is not low on memory and all software is up to date. Like I said, it worked before and I made no system changes.
The error message from PC Sync simply says "PC Sync was not able to send data to the mobile phone."
The problem first started at home, but now I'm getting the message at work too.
If anyone knows any other ways to resolve this, I would be glad to hear.

Hi,
If your phone supports create new sync support, click on create new sync settings while at the Finish option you will spanner icon for advance settings of Nokia PC Sync - It will Automatic Sync, Conflict Resolution, Direction and Sync profile. In that Direction is 3rd option.
BTW., which version of pc suite are you using? Which handset are you using? Connectivity BT/IR/USB ??

Error syncing bookmarks - can't merge

I apologize if this is somewhere else, but I've looked through post after post and don't see it.
Everything syncs on my iPhone except bookmarks. They used to and then stopped. iTunes says that it can't sync bookmarks because there was an "error merging data."
Any clues?

Try resetting the sync history on your computer.
If you have a Mac, this is done via iSync preferences with the iSync application.
If a PC, this is done via iTunes preferences.

If you get an error that says can't backup, try moving the existing backup file to a safe location and thry again. again. You can find the location of the backup file here:

iSync is for syncing contacts and calendars to third-party mobile phones via a USB or Bluetooth connection. iSync has never synced bookmarks and does not sync anything between computers.
Do you actually mean MobileMe Sync? If so, the forum for that is here:

Nokia n8-00 General system error appears? Email al...

Hey guys, last night my nokia n8 keeps getting a randomly appearing message "general system error" and only comes up with i think it was either back, continue or close. The strange thing is nothing happens, then after maybe half an hour it appears again, then a few minutes again after that and happened during random intervals.
Im now afraid of turning off my phone just because it might prevent it from turning on properly and i dont want to lose all my data, (my opera bookmarks, my apps, music, etc) What also happens is that my email wont sync properly anymore. Ive had to re add my account just to get it to resync emails again, works for a day then just stops.
After the general system error it doesnt even show emails anymore, not even ones previously received

Can you please provide the following information, so I can provide the proper steps to take next:
Look for the firmware version by going to Standby Screen> Call button> enter this code: *#0000# and the software information should appear. The earlier version should start with 11, newer versions are codenamed Symbian Anna, Symbian Belle, and Symbian Refresh.
Have you tried to backup the contents inside the phone? If not, you can do that by getting the latest Nokia Suite at http://nds1.nokia.com/files/support/global/phones/software/Nokia_Suite_webinstaller_ALL.exe using a Windows loaded computer.

Can not upgrade. "unexpected system error" [SOLVED]

I seem to have trouble upgrading and synchronizing the databases. I get this output when attempting 'pacman -Syu' and 'pacman -Syy':

I have tried searching for a solution here but it seems that no one else is experiencing this issue (unless I over looked a post). I see nothing about this in the news section of the home page so it might not be a common issue.

Is there a log file I can check to see what happened exactly or is there something that can be done for me to sync the databases again. Any help is appreciated.
