Sync bookmarks with Firefox

I sometimes run Firefox, but mostly I run Safari. I'd like to easily sync my ever-changing Safari bookmarks to Firefox. What's the simplest way to do that?

  • Synced bookmarks with firefox sync missing

    hi,
about a month ago i synced my bookmarks via firefox sync from my old macbook to my new macbook and it worked. hurray.
i sold my old macbook and now my bookmarks seem to be missing. because the sync seem to have worked, i didnt bother saving the bookmark list file. now i dont know how to retrieve my bookmarks, any ideas?

hello Cornan, there is no such concept as "private bookamarks" in firefox - you can only exempt bookmarks as a whole from being synced (under ''firefox > options > sync'') if you want to keep different sets of bookmarks on different pcs.
please either use https://input.mozilla.org/feedback for general feedback or if you feel that it's a missing feature in the browser file a bug at bugzilla.mozilla.org.

  • Syncing bookmarks from Firefox in iTunes for 3GS?

When you sync your iPhone it gives you the option to sync bookmarks from IE or Safari, but I use Firefox and this doesn't show on the menu... what am I doing wrong?

Firefox does not show as a browser to select for syncing bookmarks since syncing bookmarks with Firefox is not supported. You should be able to import your Firefox bookmarks with Safari on your computer followed by syncing your iPhone Safari bookmarks with Safari on your computer.

Is there a way to sync bookmarks in Firefox with bookmarks in Safari?

    There's always a catch
Check the two sites I mentioned - you should be able to specify the 'freeware' category when performing/narrowing down your search.

  • Sync Bookmarks w/ Firefox

Is there an app which will sync bookmarks in Saferi Touch w/ Firefox on an iMac?

Here's a work around for you as touch Safari will only sync bookmarks with the full version of Safari.
Open Safari, go to File > Import Bookmarks and import your Firefox bookmarks. You can either leave them in the same folder or move them around the way you want them to appear on your touch.
Plug your iPod in and allow it to sync. On the Summary page in iTunes, you will see a series of tabs. Click on the Info tab, scroll down, and click the box by Synch Bookmarks with Safari. Go back to the Summary page and click the Sync button. Your bookmarks are now in the touch.
BTW, if you haven't tried the Safari beta, you might want to give it a go. It is a really fast browser.

  • SYNCING BOOKMARKS WITH iTUNES RATHER THAN MOBILE ME

I used to sync my bookmarks with iTunes. Now it says that my bookmarks are being synched via the Web with MobileMe. But I'm not using MobileMe, and I have the Fetch feature turned off. It says that "over the air sync settings can be changed on your iPhone," but I can't find where that can be done. I want to sync bookmarks with iTunes and not MobileMe. What do I do?
    Thanks.

Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Select your MobileMe account.
    Bookmarks > Off.

  • I need to sync bookmarks between Firefox Sync and Seamonkey. Is this possible and if so how to do it??

I use Firefox and Seamonkey, both on the same computer and also on other computers. I would like to use Firefox Sync to sync bookmarks between Firefox and Seamonkey on all my computers, but I don't understand how to do this, since the browsers seem to use their own separate servers.
Is this possible and if so can you tell me how to set it up.
    Thanks.

    I understand the confusion!
I am not a Mozilla support person, but from my experience, Sync should be called Mozilla Sync, not Firefox or Seamonkey Sync.....
If you create an account in Firefox, that account is accessible to Seamonkey.
As per the Mozilla instructions, in Firefox you open "Options, sync, add device" and in Seamonkey "setup sync, I already have an account". The text here is a bit confusing because it should read "I already have a Mozilla Sync Account", otherwise you tend to think it implies a Seamonkey Sync account...
Then click "connect" and Seamonkey then supplies three fields of characters which you enter in the appropriate fields in the Firefox "add device" dialog.
I think it is confusing that in Firefox the server is called "Firefox Sync Server" and likewise Seamonkey offers a "Seamonkey Sync Server" suggesting they are two completely separate, non-connected entities.
    Hope this helps!

  • ICloud Control Panel 3.0 for Win8 syncs bookmarks with Safari removed

Is it true that iCloud Control Panel 3.0 no longer syncs bookmarks with Safari for Windows? According to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4759 Safari for Windows is no longer supported, only IE, FF and Chrome. I need a work around if this is true.

    Unlikely..
To enable iCloud on your Windows PC (Windows 7 or 8 required), first set up iCloud on your other devices, then install the iCloud Control Panel for Windows

  • Sync bookmarks with shared computer at work

I'd like to share my bookmarks, not passwords, across devices. Seems straightforward for my own PC, laptop, phone. We hot-desk at work, each with our own Windows login. When I use FF there, I have my own set of bookmarks so assume it's specific to my login. So if I sync to that computer, will FF just sync my own bookmarks, or might it combine those from other users? Or might my bookmarks be syncd to someone else's FF too and clutter them up?
And while I'm here - can I set it to sync bookmarks but not passwords?
    Thanks.

    Hi!
Firefox Profiles are specific to the Operative System user. If you login with other user, you will have a different Firefox profile in place.
That said, Firefox Sync is configured on a profile basis. So no problem at all in the configuration you are looking for.
Regarding Passwords. Once you have set up your account, you can go to the Sync Tab in the Preferences window and you will see a list of things that you can synchronize. Uncheck those ones that you don't wan to synchronize (including passwords).

  • Syncing bookmarks with Chrome

I use Google's Chrome browser on my PC. I sync my iPhone to that PC. iTunes has a drop down box on the Info page to let you choose the browser to sync bookmarks on the iPhone with. However, the drop down box only lists Internet Explorer. Is there a way to sync the bookmarks in Chrome with my iPhone?

Firefox is not listed on my MBP or my wife's Vista PC...only Safari and Internet Explorer.
One way around it is to use Xmarks, which synchronises your Bookmarks/Favorites up to a central server.
If you work primarily in Firefox, just open Internet Explorer once in a while and let it sync with all of your Firefox bookmarks, then when you sync your iPhone, everything is copied across

  • Using iDisk to sync bookmarks from firefox??

I do not like safari, I am just a fan of firefox. I tried using it for a while but it is just not the style for me. But, I like having my bookmarks synced with my iPhone, and that only is automated with safari. But I do backup to .mac syncing and I have got firefox extension foxmarks to upload to my idisk server to store firefox bookmarks. But it makes its own folder at /documents/firefox.xml I tried to change its path to /library/application support/bookmarks/bookmark.xml so that when safari synced with .mac, it would take the firefox bookmarks then sync that to my iphone.
First off, does that make sense?
Second off, is there anyway to do that? Because when i click upload in foxmarks it connects but then says error:forbidden. is there any way to allow myself access to that?
    Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Yeah, download the new safari to your computer (the one you sync the phone to) and have it transfer your bookmarks from firefox. Then when you sync the phone the bookmarks should transfer.

  • Syncing Bookmarks With A different Browser

Is it possible to sync bookmarks on an iphone with the bookmarks of a browser other than Safari on your computer? I have way more bookmarks on my mac's Safari browser than I want or need on my phone, but I also use Firefox on which I have fewer bookmarks many of which I would want on the phone. Is there any way to have the bookmark's sync come from Firefox instead? Right now I have bookmark syncing disabled to avoid loading all the ones I don't want.

Would it be acceptable to use a bookmarking site such as Delicious or Stumble-upon?
I use Delicious on Firefox (Windows Vista), Safari (Mac OS X) and the iPhone - I don't have to worry about losing bookmarks ever again
You should also be able to import bookmarks from Firefox to Safari, and vice versa. You can organise bookmarks into folders to reduce the clutter on mobile Safari's bookmarks page.

  • When bookmark with Firefox I get an error message that Google has a problem saving the bookmark. Whay are FF bookmarks being saved to Google?

I used to be able to save bookmarks in Firefox. Now when I save a bookmark there is an error message that Google is having a problem saving the bookmark. Does this mean saving to Google or Firefox? When I look roe the saved bookmark it is Google.
Also when I save the bookmark i do not get the option to save it to a folder-- I can only tag it
