Sync bookmarks with MobileMe

How do I sync my bookmarks with MobileMe
just connect wirelessly and it will happen automatically?

"MobileMe and Microsoft Exchange provide not only email, but contact and calendar
information that can be synced to iPhone automatically, over the air. MobileMe can
also sync your Safari bookmarks. You set up MobileMe, Exchange, and other email
accounts directly on iPhone. "

  • SYNCING BOOKMARKS WITH iTUNES RATHER THAN MOBILE ME

I used to sync my bookmarks with iTunes. Now it says that my bookmarks are being synched via the Web with MobileMe. But I'm not using MobileMe, and I have the Fetch feature turned off. It says that "over the air sync settings can be changed on your iPhone," but I can't find where that can be done. I want to sync bookmarks with iTunes and not MobileMe. What do I do?
    Thanks.

Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Select your MobileMe account.
    Bookmarks > Off.

  • ICloud Control Panel 3.0 for Win8 syncs bookmarks with Safari removed

Is it true that iCloud Control Panel 3.0 no longer syncs bookmarks with Safari for Windows? According to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4759 Safari for Windows is no longer supported, only IE, FF and Chrome. I need a work around if this is true.

    Unlikely..
To enable iCloud on your Windows PC (Windows 7 or 8 required), first set up iCloud on your other devices, then install the iCloud Control Panel for Windows

  • Won't sync calender with mobileme "inconsistent data error message"

I have tried about everything that I can think of but can't seem to solve this problem.
I have a new Macbook Pro and have been using mobileme and ical for some time now. I can't get my Macbook Pro to sync with mobileme ical. It does sync with the address book, but when it gets to the ical portion it tries and then reports "can't sync due to inconsistent data on this computer. Correct data and resync calender".
I have no idea what the "inconsistent data" is. My computer gets its time from apple.com and the time/date is correct. What is the inconsistent data. My calender and schedule is a critical issue. Please help.

Errors in syncing can happen for all sorts of reasons - loss of network connectivity, for instance - and it might be necessary to reset the synced data from a reliable source. It's not talking about deleting anything - unless you have data on your new computer that you need to retain.
The document says that if you have this problem on your new machine, you probably need to overwrite that local data with data from MobileMe.
Personally, I've never lost any data with dotmac or MobileMe, so my experience is it can be relied on. I do, however, keep backups of all my data as well.

  • IPhoto not syncing right with MobileMe

I just created a couple of new photo albums in iPhoto '09 that I want to share with my friends via my MobileMe gallery. I've done this many times without a hitch, so I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing. But this time I have a problem, that might be related to the upgrade from '08 to '09. After the albums finished uploading, I checked to make sure everything looked okay in the Gallery and all was well. But when I went back into iPhoto and clicked on one of new albums in the MOBILEME GALLERY portion of the source bar, iPhoto shows me in the Information panel that the album has no items. I no longer see my photos in the main panel on the right and there's no wireless icon next to the album name like all the other albums have (the ones successfully appearing in my gallery). But when I look at my MobileMe Gallery, all my photos are there as expected.
But now I can't update the titles on the photos within iPhoto. It's as if the connection between the Album and the MobileMe Gallery has been lost for just these two new libraries.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
(BTW, I'm also having sync issues with my iPhone again too - all my contacts appear twice in my iPhone...)

    HI...
Just so you are not aware ...
    What's happening to MobileMe?
The core services provided by MobileMe have been completely rewritten and are now part of iCloud. MobileMe will no longer be available after June 30, 2012. To continue to have mail, contacts, and calendars kept up to date automatically and free of charge, and to enjoy the new services that iCloud provides, MobileMe members must move their accounts to iCloud before June 30, 2012. Apple allowss for 5GB of free storage space.
Since you have v10.7.4, you can setup iCloud anytime to sync your Mac and iOS based devices.
Apple - iCloud - Learn how to set up iCloud on all your devices
Once you setup your iCloud account, you can access the settings from System Preferences > iCloud

  • ICal not syncing correctly with MobileMe

For the last week or so, ever since MobileMe was being updated, my iCal synching with MobileMe and iPhone has stopped working correctly. When I enter a meeting into iCal, it syncs to MobileMe and therefore my iPhone.
HOWEVER, any new calendar entries from the iPhone (or MobileMe's website directly), do not show up on iCal even after i try to manually Sync them. Furthermore, if I change the time of a meeting or call on iCal, a DUPLICATE meeting is created in MobileMe, thus polluting my calendar on the iPhone and MobileMe with multiple entries. When I am on the road, I can't figure out which is the correct meeting anymore.
Not sure if this is due to new iTunes or the update with MobileMe servers last week.
Here is what I have done to troubleshoot this to date:
    - In MobileMe preferences, I stopped synching my MacBook with MobileMe and wiped out all of the data on MobileMe. I rebooted my MacBook, then, I Reset Sync Data from iCal to MobileMe. It seeded fine, but still doesn't show any appointments created from the iPhone or within MobileMe on my iCal after re-syncing.
    - I deleted my MobileMe account on my iPhone. Rebooted iPhone. Re-added my MobileMe account to the iphone and synched the calendar. The calendar syncs and shows up, but still no appointments created on my iPhone or within MobileMe show on my iCal.
    - I have also tried to NARROW the variables of my issue by not synching ANYTHING ELSE other than iCal (no contacts, mail settings etc.). To No avail, still doesn't work.
Any suggestions?? I sense there is something cached in the bowels of my iCal settings, but have no idea to re-set them to re-enable synching.

I solved the issue. I took a risk and wiped my MobileMe account clean one last time, then RESET SYNCH Data from my MacBook to MobileMe.
Then, I crossed my fingers and deleted my calendars on my iCal desktop.
I then, chose RESET SYNCH Data FROM MobileMe TO MacBook pro - effectively overwriting my iCal with the same data I just uploaded into MobileMe.
The result? Everything started working again. I added meetings to my calendar with my iPhone and they showed up on my iCal Desktop (MacBook). Yeah!

  • Syncing iTools with MobileMe

iSync on my older PowerBook G4 still wants to sync with my old iTools account, while iSync on my newer PowerBook Pro wants to sync with MobileMe. The result is two calendars on an iTouch - an iTools calendar and a MobileMe calendar (and, of course, they're NOT in sync with each other). How I direct/change the PowerBook to go to MobileMe instead of iTools? (And, once that's done, how to I delete iTools from any/all Calendar references?
    Thanks!

iTools doesn't exist any more. It was completely replaced by .Mac in July 2002, then in July 2008 .Mac was completely replaced by MobileMe.
MobileMe requires Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later. You don't say what version of OS X your old PowerBook is running, but you should update it to at least 10.4.11 for it to be able to successfully sync with MobileMe. Hopefully this should resolve your syncing issues.
Also, since the release of Mac OS X 10.4 iSync no longer has anything to do with syncing to MobileMe (or it's predecessors .Mac and iTools)

  • Sync bookmarks with shared computer at work

I'd like to share my bookmarks, not passwords, across devices. Seems straightforward for my own PC, laptop, phone. We hot-desk at work, each with our own Windows login. When I use FF there, I have my own set of bookmarks so assume it's specific to my login. So if I sync to that computer, will FF just sync my own bookmarks, or might it combine those from other users? Or might my bookmarks be syncd to someone else's FF too and clutter them up?
And while I'm here - can I set it to sync bookmarks but not passwords?
    Thanks.

    Hi!
Firefox Profiles are specific to the Operative System user. If you login with other user, you will have a different Firefox profile in place.
That said, Firefox Sync is configured on a profile basis. So no problem at all in the configuration you are looking for.
Regarding Passwords. Once you have set up your account, you can go to the Sync Tab in the Preferences window and you will see a list of things that you can synchronize. Uncheck those ones that you don't wan to synchronize (including passwords).

  • Cannot sync Keychain with MobileMe - password not accepted

I have installed SL twice after talking with Apple Support. On my MacBook Pro, immediately after installing SL I received a message to input the master Keychain password for my MacBook Pro. I had never see this message before installing SL. I never had separate password for my keychain, so I input my master logon password. It was not accepted.
I posted this problem in a different thread under Apple Support and received advice to delete certain preference setting, use Keychain first aid, restore to default, etc. I did all that. No luck.
I called Apple Support and the representative walked me through similar steps before advising me to reinstalling SL.
I reinstalled, no fix. All that I have done is set my MobleMe preferences to NOT sync the Keychain so I won't get the message anymore.
I also have an iMac and have had NO problems with the SL installation.
Any advice or suggestions on a more permanent fix would be extremely appreciated! Thanks!

I'm having real issues as well with my keychains on one of my machines. Are you having similar problems to what I have listed in http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2130442
Note that if your keychains are hosed, like mine appear to be, you will have trouble doing anything with MobileMe.

  • Synced ical with mobileme, now can't edit calendar

Hi, I synced ical through mobileme thinking mobileme would serve as a "backup" for my ical. I use ical on my macbook and don't check the mobileme calendar.
but now i can't write on my ical when it is open on my macbook.
how can i change the settings so that i can use ical on my macbook and have it backed up on mobileme?
if this is impossible please tell me how to restore the original settings and get my ical off mobileme.

Hello Doxiechick and welcome to the Palm forums.
Are you sure you are syncing with Microsoft Outlook and not a Microsoft Exhcange server or some other corporate email system?  If you are syncing a Palm OS device, like the Centro, to Microsoft Outlook, the default database files don't get deleted.  My guess is that there is something else going on here, especially if you have contacts on your Centro.

  • Syncing iPhone with MobileMe and iCal

I know that when I'm set up right the changes I make on one device (iPhone, iCal, MobileMe) sync to all other devices. Here is my question. iPhone calendar *****; so, at work I want to be able to create calendar events on my personal Mac and sync through iTunes (Mac will not be connected to internet and I can't access MobileMe from work computer). I need to be able to create recurring events that are custom (beyond the bare-basic the iPone calendar offers).
Can I use the option to sync with iCal through iTunes while Mac is not connected to the internet and still use MobileMe? I have tried this but keep getting duplicate calendar and contacts entries.
Do I have to use one or the other?

Doing both does nothing but duplicate the calendars and calendar events on your iPhone. When doing both, each is synced and stored separately and differently on the iPhone. The calendars and calendar events synced direct with iCal via the iTunes sync process are stored separately and not synced over the air with your iPhone and vice-versa.

  • Syncing bookmarks with Chrome

I use Google's Chrome browser on my PC. I sync my iPhone to that PC. iTunes has a drop down box on the Info page to let you choose the browser to sync bookmarks on the iPhone with. However, the drop down box only lists Internet Explorer. Is there a way to sync the bookmarks in Chrome with my iPhone?

Firefox is not listed on my MBP or my wife's Vista PC...only Safari and Internet Explorer.
One way around it is to use Xmarks, which synchronises your Bookmarks/Favorites up to a central server.
If you work primarily in Firefox, just open Internet Explorer once in a while and let it sync with all of your Firefox bookmarks, then when you sync your iPhone, everything is copied across

  • Problem syncing calendars with MobileMe

I have a weird problem with my 2nd gen iPod touch and MobileMe. I have several iCal calendars on my current generation MacBook Pro, MacPro, and iMac current generation, all of which are in sync with MobileMe. I have no problem syncing anything else with my iPod touch, except birthdays and my personal calendar.
For some reason, all the events in my personal calendar are missing on my iPod touch and so are birthdays. I have been looking through all the options I can think of on iCal, Mac OS X 10.5.6 preferences, and on MobileMe, and the online helps to no avail.
How do I get my personal events and birthdays back on my iPod touch? I tried power cycling it, but that didn't help. I tried resetting it and restoring the settings via iTunes. No go. All my software is current, including the iPod touch. Any ideas on how to fix this issue are welcome.

    NP.
This is sort of the generic fix for this type of issue.
We see it on Exchange, Mail, POP, etc.

    Usually works.
    Glad it did for you.

  • Syncing Bookmarks With A different Browser

Is it possible to sync bookmarks on an iphone with the bookmarks of a browser other than Safari on your computer? I have way more bookmarks on my mac's Safari browser than I want or need on my phone, but I also use Firefox on which I have fewer bookmarks many of which I would want on the phone. Is there any way to have the bookmark's sync come from Firefox instead? Right now I have bookmark syncing disabled to avoid loading all the ones I don't want.

Would it be acceptable to use a bookmarking site such as Delicious or Stumble-upon?
I use Delicious on Firefox (Windows Vista), Safari (Mac OS X) and the iPhone - I don't have to worry about losing bookmarks ever again
You should also be able to import bookmarks from Firefox to Safari, and vice versa. You can organise bookmarks into folders to reduce the clutter on mobile Safari's bookmarks page.
