Sync/burn an audio book in full

I bought my first audio book. It is 7:23.48 hours long. I tried to burn it to a cd, and sync it to my iphone. IT will only burn and sync the first chapter. (1:61) The book does not show the other chapters on my laptop screen. I go to controls and click next chapters and it will go to next chapter. I can listen to the whole book on my desk top. Any suggestions on how I can get this whole book on my iphone and a CD. Thanks

With your phone connected, iTunes running, click on the "Book" tab, scroll all the way down, is sync audiobooks checked? If not, put a check in the box.

Trying to burn an audio book....need some help...

Ok,
I am burning some auidobooks for a friend. Rather than the audio book being broken down into tracks it is one track. The first book went fine though I ran out of CD's. The first book was a mix of brands and contained CDR and CDRW.
I purchased the next set of blank CDRs and finished the first book fine no problem. Then I started to burn the next book. As before, it tells me that I need mutiple CDs because the track is obviously too long to put on one CD. So I start the burning process. Everything goes fine. No errors at all. I put the CDs in to check them. When I get to the second CD, however, there is a track listed but it does not play.
I check all my settings again (I am well versed in using my mac): Burn speed is at maximum and I am burning an audio CD. So I figure that I may be applying too much RAM else where in my comp so I close everything down except iTunes and I try again.
The process has no hiccups and seems to be fine and it completes. I again put them into check their completion and about half way through the first CD the audio just stops. Both times it keeps playing, but no sound is coming out. I try playing the CDs in other programs and in an external CD player to no avail.
So this is my problem. I have now wasted 12 CDs. I thought it might be the brand (Memorex) but remember that it did work. The only thing I think I can do is to slow down the write speed (the CDs are cabable of 52x...or so they say) or buy another brand But before I waste another 6 cds I was wondering if anyone had any advice?

Welcome to the group. I don't have advice for why it didn't work but I can tell you about good CD brands as I've had problems burning music in the paste. From being on this forum I have heard Memorex is bad although I've used them for music with no problem. The best though is Verbatim and that after I ran out of my cheap ones I bought a big bundle of them, Sony is also good, along with Maxell.

Trying to burn an audio-book that is too big for the CD?

I purchased an audio book (apx 2hours long). I tried to burn it to the CD but it keeps telling me that there isn't enough room on the CD. Is there a way to burn the CD to a folder, then split the tracks up to muliple disks?
Keep in mind with audiobooks, it's one file, but when you burn it, mulitple tracks are created. (kinda like an .iso).

DVD's can only hold about 4.7 GB's of DV Stream format (the format used by iMovie).
DV Stream is 13 GB's per hour of recording so it would take 3 DVD's to "store" your data for a one hour capture.
"Export" (back to tape) or use iDVD to "burn" an MPEG-2 version of your file.
Only the "tape" version would not require some type of conversion on import.

How to burn iTunes audio book to CD that will play in my car

I purchased two audio books from the iTunes music store. I have no intention of sitting at my computer for twelve hours listening to the books. I intend to listen to the books on my car CD player during long road trips. When I try to convert the files I get a message that says that they can't be converted because they are protected files. How can I play them on a CD in my car?

I THINK my iTunes preferences were already set to "Audio CD" on my first, failed attempt. For this failed attempt I simply hit the burn icon in the upper right of iTunes. When I followed your advise my preferences were already set as you suggested but this time I used one of the pull-down menus along the top to select "burn playlist to ....". This worked perfectly. How do I burn an audio book to cd

I just bought a 16 hour audio book that was downloaded in seven parts. When I went to burn it on CD, the error message came back to break down the playlist into tracts that fit the disc size. Problem is that there is no tracts. I bought the audio book from iTunes so how do I break part down into manageable size?

The audiobook content in iTunes is provided by
audible.com. If you will check on audible's website,
there are complete instructions on how to burn your
CD to disc. In fact, I'm in the process of burning
one to disc myself, using audible's instructions.

ITune fails to burn large audio books:The iTune library file cannot be saved. There is not enough memory.

I am trying to burn large audible audio book to virtual CD and iTune 11.2.2 keeps crashing midway. After spending hours trying to get information off technical forum, here is the description and possible explanation of what is happening:
The burn start normally, iTune create 10 tracks of 8 mn per CD.
The burn progress pass 10 CD (up to 30 CD).
The a message box with: "The iTune library cannot be saved. There is not enough memory" appears.
In the back ground the process keeps going for another 2 or 3 CD then stops.
This is NOT a memory problem:
My computer still has over 100 Gb of HDD left
On my i7, only 4 of the 8 core were used.
The whole process didn't go over 3.5 Gb of RAM (out of 8).
I reinstalled, iTune.
I re-imported the files.
I raised the processes priority to High.
From the forums, This problem started past iTune 7.x and x64 bit processors whenever iTune used more that 1.5 Ghz of RAM.
It does follow the behavior of a 32bit bit system going Out Of Memory.
The way I see this: Apple has to either create a fix to reuse the current iTune memory properly or create an update to 64bit so it can use whatever RAM is available in the computer.
Does anyone else have any other idea?

Well, I installed the latest iTunes this AM, works perfectly. Although for some reason it did lock up after playing a song today.

No, it isn't.
The issue you are experiencing is one that has occurred in multiple versions of iTunes, a simple search would have revealed this.
A simple search was conducted, no one seemed to have an answer. Do you always adopt such a haughty attitude? Or was I just lucky.

How do I burn this audio book?

I have a audio book, in the main / only folder, it has 14 folders each labeled cd1, cd 2, cd3, all the way up to cd14.
Each folder has a number of mp3 files in it from 18 - 22 in number.
Each cd folder is approx 40 mb in size & each mp3 file is about 2.5 mb each.
How do I burn this and how many folders can I fit on 1 cd?

14 folders each about 40MB is about 560MB total. Most blank CDs can hold 700MB. So in that sense, you only need one CD.

Can I burn an Audio Book on to CD's?

I purchased an audio book from the iTunes Store, which came in 2 parts, with a total length of about 4 hours. When I tried to burn the book onto a CD, I couldn't because the audio book is longer than the CD capacity. I don't believe the audio book is broken into chapters that I could load in sections. Is there any way to burn this onto blank CD's?

Hello! Is there a way to break it up into sections, so when played in a CD Player in the car, and you have to seek/rewind, it won't start over again? It's burning it as 1 track per CD.

I was burning an audio book and on the last of six CDs, the CD i entered had a problem. Itunes quit without burning the last CD. Is there any way to get it to burn just the last CD or do I have to re-burn all of them?

I was burning an audo book to CD. It was six CDs long. After the fitth CD I inserted one that was defective and itunes just ended, as though
the burning had been completed. Now I have five of the six CDs.
1) Why did it do this instead of telling me I had a bad disk or something?
2) Is there any way to get it to re-burn just the last disk instead of having to re-burn all of them?

Ibook sync problems also audio books wont play correctly

I updated my ipad from 4.3 to 5.0.1 now I am unable to sync my books in one go with out the other folder showing in excess of 24gigs plus when I try to listen to an audio book ipod player will only play the first chapter then I need to select the next chapter and so on where as with 4.3 the chapters would just play one after the other I would be great ful of any help thank you.

Just I case any ones reading this I've found out that I'm not the only one who's suffering these faults with all of the apple products i.e. iPod touch, iPhones, and the iPads are all the same with this spurious other folder in iTunes when the devices are plugged in when I contacted apple care for help with this the so called technication tried to explain it was the iOS operating system that was accounting for the other folder when asked to explain how any operating system for a tablet or any device could be in the region of and above 20gigs he just went silent and it was hard to get another word from him he even refused to allow me to speak to his boss???
As for the audio books the only work round I have found is to use a free programme called Audacity 1.3 for windows you can also get this prog for the mac as well it allows you to stitch audio files together so in stead of having for example 3 large files for and audio book with say 5 chapters in each file you can stitch them all together as one large 15 chapter file it also allows you to adjust the meta data which is very handy.
Depending on how many chapters you have can take some time to do this but is so well worth it when if it was not done you could have an audio book with 150 chapters of 3 mins long which would mean every 3 mins you would have to select the next chapter to play or if it was all stitched together you just select remember last position in the iTunes file info and no more worrying about selecting the next chapter and if you don't listen to the audio book right the way through you can start off right where you left it last time.
I hope that this info has helped any one who like myself is having the same fault with their audio books not playing correctly.

Burning mp3 audio book cds

I have mp3 formatted audio book cds that I cannot listen to using my CD player in my car but will play on my computer. I tried burning it onto a CD via iTunes but the result is the same thing. It'll play on my computer but not on the CD player in my car.
Is this because my CD player is not formatted to play mp3? Is there a way I can convert mp3 to a more conventional format during the burning process?? Do I have to use a special CD to burn an audio CD?
Or is it the way I have the preferences set up in my iTunes's Importing and Burning options?? FYI, I have them set to "Import Using: MP3 Encoder" and "Burning: Audio CD."

Flag, are you using CD-R or CD-RW media? Most stereos don't read CD-RW.

Burning an audio book to disk

I have purchased an audio book from Audible.co.uk. I have it in my list of purchased items, but, unlike music playlists, the playlist containing the audio book does not give the option to burn it to disc. I am told it can be done but have so far, not succeeded. Can anyone help?

Are your trying to burn as an Audio CD or a Data CD? The former would work if the playtime was under 80 minutes, otherwise it isn't going to fit. If the book is not DRM protected and you plan to playback on a player than can handle data discs, or want to create the CD for transfer/archive purposes, then the second method should work.

My computer was stolen and I since bought a new one. I have all my music and books on my itouch and would like to sync my itouch to my new computer. I didn't know who to do this and since have started to rebuild my itunes on my new computer so now I don't want to sync because it will erase all my stuff on my itouch with what I have on my new computer. So how can I sync what is on my touch to my computer?

Can only sync calendar and contacts...not music or audio books

I have an itouch that I was only able to fully sync once. Then I could no longer sync music or audio books. I updated all software and then did a full restore on my itouch. Still no success. I have tried this on three different computers that I have used with (no problems) my older ipods but I cannot get this sync to work on any of them.
When I sync, I get a message on the itouch that a "sync is in progress". However, no music or audiobooks are transferred. Only calendar and contact info is synced. I checked the itunes settings for the itouch and they are set to sync all songs and playlists.
Spent several hours scouring troubleshooting hints to no avail. Please help!

Are you sure you do not have your ipod set to manually manage music and videos on the ipod summary screen?
