Sync contacts BACK to exchange server?

My exchange contacts are showing up on my phone, but I was hoping, that when I add contacts on my iphon, they'd sync back to my exchange server.
Is this not possible?
If it is, how do I do it?
Thanks.

What makes you think they do not?
What you descibe is essentially how exchange works.  Any changes made to the contacts on the device immediately are updated on the server.

  • Migrate Calendar/Contacts from one Exchange server to a new server?

I have an iPhone synced to my calendar and contacts on one Exchange server (old.edu). I am in the process of migrating to a different Exchange server (new.edu). Does anyone know if I can use the iPhone to be the conduit from server old.edu to server new.edu? e.g., can I sync iPhone with old.edu data on it to a computer that has a new Exchange server configured on its Outlook program and have the old.edu data copied onto the new.edu server?

No, you cannot. Exchange contacts data is synced 'over the air' only, and thus managed separately from iTunes (USB cable) syncing.
If you have Outlook connected to the old exchange server, you can export your contacts then import them after you link to the new server. But the iPhone is not going to help you in this situation.

  • Get contacts of iPhone (Exchange server sync)

    Hi,
I recently left my old job to start a new one. I have my iPhone setup to syncronize all my emails, contacts and calendars with my old companys Exchange server.
My account on their Exchange server has now been disabled and I no longer have access to my old work PC to export my contacts as a PST.
How can I get my contacts of my iPhone (must be cached I guess) onto my PC so that I can add them onto my local copy of Outlook and then setup my iPhone to syncronize from my personal laptop?
    Best Regards
    Fredrik

No way that I'm aware of, which is how most companies that provide an Exchange account want it. There is not a way to sync contacts being synced over the air direct with a supported address book application on your computer via the iTunes sync process.
You can check if the Exchange contacts synced over the air are available with your iPhone's backup on your computer which is updated by iTunes as the first step during the iTunes sync process. There are a number of utilities that provide for extracting select data from your iPhone's backup for access on your computer. Here is one.

  • Outlook contacts not syncing with Pre via exchange server

I am a Pre user and I am having two problems.  1.  The Pre is not syncing contacts with Outlook.  We use exchanger server and do have an SSL cert.  Email works fine.  2. Since I got my Pre some contacts have mysteriously been removed or filed in sub contact folders.  Any ideas?  Thanks!
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

Have you removed your EAS account from the device? Also did your IT do any updates to the server or your account recently? It could be your IT is blocking Contacts from syncing though EAS or an update disabled this feature.

  • Sync Backup Assistant & Blackberry Exchange Server

I recently purchased a Blackberry and I am using a business Blackberry Exchange Server.  My contacts are now from my Outlook account.  Is it possible to sync the contacts from my old phone with my Outlook Exchange contacts?  I am wondering if this will happen if I perform a Backup Assistant restore on my phone?

This is possible. But it will not happen when you run the Backup Assistant. When you run your Desktop Manager on your computer you can manage what exactly your phone syncs with such as if you want your contacts from Yahoo or your Outlook. Hope this helps.

  • Delete Multiple Contacts at Once - Exchange Server

I sync only with Exchange Server at work and have private, department & corporate contacts. In some cases one contact can be in all three classifications so I end up with the same contact 3 times on my iphone. Is there a want to mark duplicates for mass removal in lieu of deleting one contact at a time? Or at the very least deleting without having to actually open each contact?

Not on the phone, but you can from a contact management program (such as Outlook) or from icloud.com if you are syncing your contacts with iCloud.

  • Can't sync IMAP inbox with Exchange Server 2003

Since Lion doesn't work with Exchange Server 2003, I set up an IMAP account in Outlook 2011 via Davmail for myself and a colleague on our laptops. This has worked for my e-mail account (syncs on multiple computers, including one running Exchange directly, and with my iPad's mail client), but not for my colleague.
For some reason, my colleague's inbox receives pushes from the server, but won't send back changes made in Outlook. Messages that have been read remain unread; deleted e-mails go into what is purportedly the server's trash in Outlook 2011, but remain in the inbox on the server. Changes made on the IMAP on the laptop also don't sync to my colleague's iPhone.
    Our configuration is the same.
Any ideas? Could it be on the server side?
    Thanks!

I feel your pain. I also am a lone Mac user in an entire building full of PC robots, and the IT people haven't got a clue.
I've been trying to get Mac mail working with the Exchange server here, but it's just not happening. I've managed to get Entourage working though, which is far from ideal but significantly better than the web-based version of Outlook that I'd been having to use up till now.
For entourage, then yes - the incoming and outgoing servers are the same. You may need to ask your recalcitrant IT people which port numbers to use, but give it a whirl anyway.
    Best of luck,

  • Syncing iPhone 4 with Exchange Server

Is there any way to synch an iPhone 4 with an Exchange Server contact list and calendar without overwriting all iPhone contacts and calendar entries.  In other words, "Can they be merged rather than overwritten?"

    Thanks Kilted Tim,
After an update of iTunes and the iOS, a good backup, and a leap of faith, I figured it out earlier this morning.
I had a bad experience when I first got my phone.  I did the same thing, syncing with the exchange server and it overwrote all of my contacts and calendar items.  It was a long three months trying to rebuild them all.  I'm glad to see this option was opened to users choice.

So, I am not able to set "In-Reply-To" header while sending my SendMail command. Which results in no LastVerbExecuted returned from the server (which I suppose is caused by the mentioned issue).
So, my question is, how to make the exchange server return a Message Id field for a new email received by my client?
    Something like mentioned here:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee220018%28v=EXCHG.80%29.aspx

You are getting customized error as a SOAP Fault from PeopleSoft application.
Regarding 3 responses, your send port might have retry count = 3 set in your send port. Hence you are getting 3 faults on each request you are making.
Now coming to the actual issue, when something goes wrong and you got fault message response, you need to deal with it. Means your orchestration send port will have "Response" and "Fault" response and you will deal with these messages respectively.
You need to assign MessageTypes for Response and Fault accordingly.
If you have done all above and still getting an error, check this
hotfix 978156 which is applicable in case of 2k6R2 and 2009 biztalk versions and happens while dealing with cross object conversion (datetime)

  • Backing up Exchange Server 2013 CU3 with Windows Server Backup Program

Looking at configuring Windows Server Backup Program to backup Exchange Server 2013 CU3 which is a member a DAG Group using a specific Backup Domain Account.
From my understanding from the following technet Article" Using Windows Server Backup to Backup and Restore Exchange Data" at  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd876851(v=exchg.150).aspx I cannot use wbadmin.exe has it uses an older
    unsupported version of Powershell.
My question is what are the minimum AD rights required for an AD account needed to be able to backup/restore Exchange Datastore using Windows Server Backup Program in Windows Server 2012?
    Thanks,
    NIck

    Hi Sathish,
After looking at your response, it all make sense except when I look at what exchange right assigned via RBAC.  I understand that the backup service account will require access to the exchange databases
to be able to backing and restoring them.  After looking at the different roles
I'm wondering if I require to assign both the Databases roles for Backing up the databases and the Disaster Recovery Role as well to be able to restore the databases has well as having a mailbox on the exchange
server for the backup service account?
Below is explanation of the roles via the ECP
    Database Role
This role enables administrators to create, manage, mount and dismount mailbox and public folder databases on individual servers.
    Disaster Recovery
This role enables administrators to restore mailboxes and database availability groups in an organization.
    Thanks,
    Nick

  • Sync of reminders with Exchange server fails

I can't synchronize my OS X Reminders with my Exchange server. I get the following message in Calendar when syncing :
Calendar can't refresh reminders in the calendar "Tasks"
And in the OS X Console, I see these 2 messages (I guess the first one is the root cause of the issue, the second one is just a notification that the sync failed ):
    02.03.14 14:24:31.810 CalendarAgent[210]: -[SOAPParser:0x7fd30899aae0 parser:didStartElement:namespaceURI:qualifiedName:attributes:] Type not found in EWSTaskRecurrenceType for WeeklyRegeneration (t:WeeklyRegeneration)
02.03.14 14:24:31.812 CalendarAgent[210]: [com.apple.calendar.store.log.exchange] [Exchange error Calendar can’t refresh reminders in the calendar “Tasks”. There was an error attempting to send your changes to the exchange server. (Error Domain=SOAPWebServicesErrorDomain Code=-997 "The operation couldn’t be completed. (SOAPWebServicesErrorDomain error -997.)")]
I have had this problem for a few months, and it still exists with 10.9.2 ; the sync used to work sometimes, but not anymore.
I guess the error comes from one reminder on the server which has complex recurrence rule.

  • Will notes in Mail sync with Notes on Exchange server and Outlook Web Access?

Will notes in Mail 5.0 sync with Notes in latest versions of Microsoft Exchange server and Outlook Web Access?

I was just trying to find the answer to this question myself.

  • New iPhone 5 syncs contacts to Microsoft Exchange over the air?

Just got a new iPhone 5. It's not syncing my contacts. I've tried everything I can find here. However, there's this one little difference. In iTunes, I'm being told that my contacts are being synced with Microsoft Exchange over the air. ***? I don't have Microsoft anything on my comptuer!
This is a new iPhone 5. I've imported all my contacts from my previous phone which has never been synced with anything. (Syncing didn't exist when I bought the phone.) I've switched all of the contanct information on, and ... nothing. I've tried syncing via iTunes. I've tried sycning via iCloud.
Any new additions I make will sync via icloud (or iTunes), but none of the old contact information will sync to my comptuer. I know it has something to do with the "syncing with Micorsoft Exchange" message, but I have no idea how or why it defaulted to that setting. How do I change it? How do I get my contacts to sync from my phone to my computer?
    Thanks.

    randers4,
Thank you for your reply. Strangely, the offending email account was the account set up at the store (not Apple store) for an iTunes account. I have no idea why they would have turned on the exchange sync in the fisrt place.
I now know how to turn off the exchange sync. However, I'm not given the option of keeping the contacts on my iPhone if I switch it off. It will delete all of my contacts. Is there a way to avoid this? I'm sure I read something in the discussions here, can you point me back in the right direction? The same thing is going to happen wiith my emails. Unfortunately, I have dozens of emails already...
    Again, thanks for your help.
