Sync Contacts from Exchange
I am an IT admin and I am supporting a user who has an iPhone. We have the phone configured to sync Mail, Contacts & Calendars from our Exchange server. This has worked fine until today. Today the user reports that only 500 out of 3000+ contacts are synced to his iPhone.
I have an iPod Touch which I have also configured the same way and have not had any problems. However, I don't have nearly the contacts that this user has.
Any ideas why the contacts would not be syncing correctly today?
Thanks,
Jack Leininger
Not sure why this has happened - it may have occurred when not connected via a wi-fi network when cellular reception was low.
I suggest turning Contacts off on the iPhone for over the air syncing with the Exchange account. This will remove all contacts from the iPhone's address book. Follow this by turning Contacts on.

Sync Contacts from Hotmail?
Has anyone had luck syncing contacts from hotmail to the kin onem?
When you set up email accounts on your phone, the only contacts that sync automatically are Exchange account contacts. You need to follow a different process to import contacts from Windows Live, Yahoo!, AOL, and Gmail.
First you need to sign into Windows Live on the Social Networking screen to auto-import your Windows Live contacts.
Then you will import your contacts from other email accounts to your Windows Live contacts. The contacts will automatically sync to your phone.
Step 1: On your phone
Sign in to Windows Live:
There are several ways to sign in:
Go to the Favorites Home screen and tap All contacts > Accounts.
Go to Apps > Contactsand tap Accounts.
Go to Apps > Settings, then slide your finger left to view the App setup screen. Then tap Social Networks.
The Social networks sign-in screen appears. Tap the social network you want to sign in to. For the steps below, select Windows Live™ - Live ID. The username you used to sign into your phone is pre-populated.
Tap Saveto sign in. Once you’ve signed in successfully, your contacts and/or feeds will sync to your phone, as applicable.
Step 2: On your computer
Now that you’re signed into Windows Live on your phone, you are ready to import your contacts to Windows Live. Once you do that, the contacts will automatically sync to your phone.
You can use any type of email account, including:
• Branded POP/IMAP email accounts
• Other POP/IMAP email accounts
You’ll need the following information if you have one of the branded accounts (Hotmail, Gmail,
Yahoo! Mail, AOL):
• Your username - The first part of your email address
• Your password - The password you use to sign in to your account.
For other POP/IMAP accounts you’ll also need:
• Incoming server name - This is typically “pop.domain.com”.
• Outgoing server name - This is typically “smtp.domain.com”. -
My wife bought an iPad Air and synced contact from our PC (Outlook), now all our contacts in Outlook have gone and we have to go to iCloud to get them, and even then they are a bit jumbled. How do I get my data back onto my PC?
If you can see the iCloud contacts in Outlook, you can copy them back to your PC by selecting all the contacts (click one, then press Control-A), then drag and drop the selected contacts to Contacts under My Contacts on the left sidebar of Outlook.
If you want to copy your calendar back to Outlook, select your iCloud calendar on the left sidebar of Outlook, switch to the list view (select View from the ribbon, then click Change View>List), select your events (click on a single event, then press Control-A), then control drag and drop them to Calendar under My Calendars on the left sidebar.
Then you can sign out of iCloud on the iCloud control panel and your local copies will still be there. If you want to add your iCloud email account back to iCloud, you can do this with these settings: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864. -
Is there any way to Sync contacts from Outlook for Mac to iPhone 5? Apple support says that only iTune can only sync contacts from "Contact" which is the default contact of Mac. If one is running Outllok on a Mac machine then it is not possible to sync the contacts with iPhone. It is strange that Apple distributors are promoting and offering machines with promise that Windows users can now run MS Office on Mac machines without any problem. While this is true, it is so strange that one cannot sync the contacts from MacBook Pro to iPhone5. If someone has found a way to sync contacts from Outlook to iPhone 5 please help as it is very frustrating to not be able to sync the contacts. Thanks, Amit.

How Can I sync contacts FROM my iPhone TO my AOL E-mail?
How can I sync contacts FROM my iPhone TO my AOL E-mail? In other words, I want to keep all of my iPhone contact information intact and make AOL "mirror" it (and not wipe it out when I sync thru iTunes).
The iPhone supports syncing contacts with Outlook 2003 or 2007, or with Windows Contacts with Windows, and with the Address Book or with the Entourage address book on a Mac.
If you aren't currently using one of the supported applications on your computer for contact info - the supported address book application on your computer is empty, before syncing contacts enter one contact in the supported application on your computer. Make this contact up if needed, which can be deleted later. This will provide a merge prompt with the first sync for this data with the supported application on your computer, which you want to select.
After this, you can export the contacts from the supported application on your computer that is supported for import by your AOL online address book - if AOL includes such an option. -

How do I sync contacts from iPhone to macbook pro OSX 10.9.4?
I wish to transfer my contacts from my iPhone to my macbook pro. I use system 10.9.4. Apparently I have to use iCloud.
You can sync contacts from between your iPhone and Mac using iCloud.
Setup instructions > Apple - iCloud - Learn how to set up iCloud on all your devices.
Apple gives you 5GB's of free storage.
You can also sync Safari bookmarks, photos, calendars, and more > iCloud: iCloud storage and backup overview -
Syncing contacts from iPhone back to iMac (Entourage)
Briefly, after both my Time Machine and hard drive failed, I lost all my data. My Entourage contacts re-main on my iPhone, and I want to sync them back to Entourage. I understand the process of "merging,"but I have run into a few obstacles: I am using the latest version of iTunes (7.6.2), by the way. First, under Preferences, I have no options available under "Syncing." Then, when I connect my iPhone, and select "Info," I have no options here, either. I do have a number of contacts in Entourage in my iMac, but, apparently, iTunes no longer recognizes the existence of this program, so I can go no-
where. (My Entourage Contacts have been duplicated in my Address Book, but that doesn't show up, either. Something must be terribly corrupted.) I'm both frustrated and perplexed, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance. pahSomething to check when syncing contacts from iphone back to computer, make sure to open address book and enter at least one contact.
Then when you connect the iphone, you should get a message asking if you want to merge the data.
Click merge and this should copy all contacts from the iphone back into address book.
the same goes with ical also.
Make sure there is at least one event in ical.
Now to move the data in address book and ical to entourage is set in the entourage preferences in the sync services section.
Hope this helps. -
Unable to sync contacts from iPhone to Address Book...works the other way
I am unable to have changes on my iPhone reflect in my Mac's address book. For example, I would delete a contact on the iphone, but it stays there in the Mac's address book after sync. The worst part is that now on subsequent syncs, the contact is never added back to the phone or deleted from the computer. I am able to create as many contacts as I want on the phone and sync them to the address book, but just not delete modify them.
Creating/deleting contacts in the address book works.
So far, I have tried:
1. Resetting the sync history.
2. Replacing all my iPhone contacts with those in address book.
3. Unselecting and reselecting sync contacts from iTunes.
4. Archiving my address book, deleting everything in it, syncing, and then repopulating it.
5. Restoring my iPhone.
None of this has worked, and I am close to pulling my hair out. I just fixed issues with the new Safari bookmarks sync, and now this. Can anyone please help me fix this issue? Any help would be appreciated.

Message was edited by: Saurabh GargThanks for the idea of looking at the Console. I've created new contacts on my MacBook and my iPhone, but neither is syncing to the other, in fact a new contact group I created in Address Book doesn't even show up in the list of groups in the Contacts sync window in iTunes. Here's what the Console says every time I sync:

Is it possible to sync contacts from my phone that were originally created in Mac address book to Outlook on a PC?
CindiS wrote:
I was told by someone at AppleCare that my saved Outlook 2007 Calendars would open on the Mac in iCal and that my Word 2007 Documents would open on the Mac using pages in iWork.
This information is correct for Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents.
It's also correct for Outlook if the Outlook Calendars where exported in the ics format.

I am trying to sync contacts from my iPhone to Mac. When I plug in my iPhone, I do not get the Info tab in iTunes (as mentioned in how to sync on this website). How can I get the info tab to appear?
Since the release of Mavericks (OS X 10.9) syncing contacts and calendars with a Mac via iTunes is no longer supported. The currently supported method is via iCloud. Setup instructions: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/

Sync contacts from back up of a restored iPhone5
How to sync contacts from back up of a restored iPhone5?
Contacts are not really a part of a backup.
If the device has been used as designed, contacts are synced to a supported app on the computer or a cloud service. Simply sync them back.
If you have not been using the device as designed, restore from backup and pray that they restore.
