Sync contacts on laptop and iPhone

How do I sync my contacts with laptop and iPhone over iCloud? Updated contacts 24 hours ago on laptop, iPhone contacts didn't change. What do I do?

It's either the connection from the laptop to icloud or from icloud to iphone that's the problem.  To find the answer, do the following...
Using a computer's browser log into icloud.com and then look at the contacts page.  If the edits show up there, then the problem is from icloud to iphone.  If edits are not there, then the problem is from laptop to icloud.
Whichever device the problem points to, verify that it is logged into the right icloud account and that Contacts is turned on.  (System preferences>icloud on mac or Settings>icloud on ios device.

  • Can I sync a desktop, laptop and iPhone?

I want to sync my desktop, laptop and iPhone - I am able to sync 2 of the 3 - but not all 3 of them.
Is it possible to sync them all?
If not, if I bookmark something on the one that isn't synced, then it won't be added to my iphone (for example).
    Thank you!
    Kayci

You are talking about the menu bar of Itunes, right?
Yes. With iTunes open the menu bar is at the top of your screen.
where exactly is the Store/synck you iphone option?
After you authorize the computer connect your iPhone then follow the instructions here > iOS: How to transfer or sync content to your computer
When you are done transferring the data to the desktop, right or control click the iPhone under Devices left side of the iTunes window then click Back Up.
That way you will have a backup just in case you need to restore your iPhone.

  • Calendar syncing problems with laptop and iphone

Calendar entries on my iphone don't find their way to my ical on my laptop. When i connect and sync all ical entries are double entered on my phone. Please can anyone help.
Driving me mad as i just can't rely on it!

I think this might be the same problem I'm having, except that I'm having the same problem with both the calendar and the address book. I know things are syncing correctly between my work laptop, my home laptop, my home desktop, and MobileMe. My problem is with my phone. Everything synced fine until I upgraded to version 3. Then the phone would not update at all. I've tried to turn on the Contacts and Calendars in the Settings, but the "switches" won't stay ON. The Mail switch stays on with no problem. I finally forced the phone to sync through iTunes, but then I had double entries in the calendar and double contacts (on the phone only). So .. how to I get it to sync automatically, and how do I get rid of the double entries and contacts? Should I completely delete my account on my phone, and start over? I don't want to mess something up.

  • How to sync Contacts between rMBP and iPhone 5s.

The Contacts on my iPhone 5s appear to be an older version than that on my MacBook Pro Retna.  How do I get them to sync?

I am a new user when it comes to Apple so I have to say I am not sure.  I thought I had eveything setup for Contacts on the Cloud, until I noticed the diffenences between the rMBP Contacts and those on the iPhone 5s.  I also connected the two devices with a cable and rid to sync with iTunes, but I still see differences.

  • Syncing contacts of iPad and iphone

How do I get the contacts from an iphone on to my iPad and keep them in sync. Both are currently backed up to the icloud

Backing up to icloud is entirely different than syncing with it. Make sure that you're signed into the same icloud account on both devices and turn on 'contacts' under the icloud settings on both devices. If you've created the contacts on your device in the icloud account, they should be on both devices. They need to both be on a wifi network in order for them to contact the icloud server and give the contacts to the other device

  • Syncing Contacts from laptop to iPhone 3GS

I've noticed that for a while now, new contacts entered on the macbook are not synced to my iphone during sync! So I don't have all my needed info with me when I'm away from the computer - grrrr...!
I've tried several things, to no avail:
    using an older backup
    resetting iSync
setting up a one-time sync where Address book on the laptop is supposed to replace what's on the phone.
    Anyone else solve this problem?

  • How do I selectively sync contacts between MacBook and iPhone?

I see several posts mentioning select groups, etc. in iTunes. But when I enter the "Info" tab in iTunes, the only option (radio button) available is "All contacts;" "Select groups" is greyed out.
Wait - my MacBook Pro's Addressbook doesn't seem to allow me to create any group to start with. Any pointers?

This is most likely an OS X Address Book question.

  • I need help syncing my contacts between Outlook and iPhone using iTunes. I followed the steps given and ended up with just email addresses showing in my contacts even though I have phone numbers and snail mail in my Outlook Contacts. Using  Windows 7

I need help syncing my contacts between Outlook and iPhone using iTunes. I used the knowldge document and set it up to transfer my Outlook contacts to the iphone using itunes.
In contacts on the iphone I only see the email addresses.
Yet in Outlook I have email, snail mail and phone numbers.
I followed the knowledge document from iphone.
I did it once, didn't work so deleted all the contacts from the phone and tried again. Same result. I have a PC using Windows 7 64 bit.

You can't access an Exchange account via ActiveSync with the Address Book and iCal on your Mac.
You can access a MM account with Outlook on your PC at work and keep your MM email account server stored mailboxes synced between your PC at work, your iPhone, and the MM "cloud". Not sure about syncing MM contact info and calendar events with Outlook at the same time with an Exchange account.
This will not provide for syncing your Exchange account contact info and calendar events with the Addresss Book and iCal on your Mac because the accounts are separate.
You can access an Exchange account and a MM account at the same time with the iPhone's mail client, and sync contact info and calendar events over the air with both accounts at the same time. You can view combined contact info or separately for each account, and the same for calendar events.

  • ITunes stopped syncing videos to iPad and iPhone

I have a bunch of TV shows purchased from iTunes store on my laptop (MacBook Air, OS X 10.8.2) which I routinely sync to my iPad and iPhone. After ungrading my iPhone to iOS 6, the sync stopped working to both iPhone and iPad (which I did not upgrade yet) with iTunes saying that I can not sync these videos because I do not have permission to play them on this computer. This is incorrect as this computer is authorized to play them, and I can actually play them on this computer. I've done all the tricks I've found suggested - reset iPhone (which I didn't think would work since the iPad is affected too), deactivate and activate my iTunes account, and am stuck. Thoughts?

    Hey there kuyosh!
After reviewing your issue, I have an article to suggest that will help you troubleshoot the issues with your iPad. The following article will help you do some basic troubleshooting on any iPad issues you may be seeing and their interactions with syncing to the computer:
    iPad: Basic troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3274
The specific section you want to pay attention to will be "If iPad doesn't appear in iTunes or you can't sync iPad." If you are still having issues after following the steps in that section of the article, you will want to restore the iPad by following the instructions in this article:

  • Email syncing for virginmedia, mail and iphone 4

I have a virginmedia email account which I sync with Mac Mail and iPhone 4.
When I download emails to my mail app the same emails aren't also downloaded on my iphone and vice versa. General syncing with read/unread emails don't happen either. I'm left with half my emails on my phone, half on my laptop and resort to using the webmail which is dreadful for email management.
Any help would be really appreciated.
    Thanks

The design and intention behind transferring the backup for an existing or another iPhone to a new iPhone is for doing this right away with the new iPhone before using it much if at all. The first time you connect a new iPhone to iTunes on your computer that was being used to sync with another iPhone, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the existing or another previous iPhone to the new iPhone. This places all the data included with the backup for the existing or another previous iPhone to the new iPhone. This doesn't add the data included with the iPhone's backup to any of the data available on the new iPhone, which there shouldn't be any since this should be done right away or as the very first thing with a new iPhone.
If a backup for the new iPhone was not created before the backup for the previous iPhone was transferred to the new iPhone, any of the data that was available on the new iPhone before the backup for the previous iPhone was transferred to the new iPhone is lost.

  • Syncing contacts from iTunes to iPhone 4s -got all my girlfriends contacts

Syncing contacts from iTunes to iPhone 4s
I upgraded my iPhone 4s to the latest os yesterday. My girlfriend and I use the same installation of iTunes, and for some reason I got all of her contacts copied to my phone. During the installation of the new os, I was told there was a conflict with the contacts and I was prompted to choose between to different sets of contacts both bearing my name but my girlfriends picture (!). I tried to skip this stage and moved on with the installation, and when I was done our contacts were all mixed up. When I later installed the new os on her iPhone (3), she got all of my contacts!
Is there a way to show iTunes what to put in which phone?

    Hello Hylan,
    There are a few possibilities.
First, make sure both iTunes and the iPhone are up-to-date.
Make sure the "Sync Address Book Contacts" box is actually checked in the Info tab for the iPhone.
You can try resetting the Sync history on the Mac:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627
It could be an issue with the Contact database on the iPhone.
If your contacts data on the Mac is current (no contacts on the iPhone that are not in Address Book). you can replace the Contact data on the iPhone with a fresh copy from the Mac.
At the bottom of the Info tab for your iPhone, you'll find a checkbox for Contacts under Advanced -- this will replace the contact data on the iPhone when you sync. It is a one time checkbox and will be unchecked automatically after the sync.
