Sync'd .wav files on iPod not playing
I have iTunes version 8.0.1.11, iPod version 1.3 fifth generation w/video. I have two .wav files on iTunes that playing perfectly. #1 .wav file=36.6 MB, #2 .wav file=4.8 MB. Sync onto iPod appears fine. The bar at bottom of iPod page indicates that 41.4 MB has been sync'd onto iPod. On the iPod itself, all the sub-menus identify the .wav files present on the iPod. However, when I push the play button on iPod the play page comes up for each .wav file but nothing happens. The progress bar at bottom of play page has no movement, no increasing green bar. I have tested the iPod by sync'g part of an audiobook onto the iPod. No problem. After I attempt to play the .wav file then play page goes black. Yesterday I had no problem sync'g a similar .wav file onto same iPod. Thank you.
Try converting the files to something else or even "converting" them to WAV files again forcing iTunes to create new copies. Then sync those and see if it works any better. A Wav to Wav "conversion" will be lossless. Or do a WAV to AIFF (also lossless) conversion and see if the AIFF files play.

If it's a windows only dvd you'll need windows. i don't think you want to go to the trouble of installing windows on your mac right now. Don't you have a friend or relative who will let you use their windows computer?

Importing .wav files, text info not formatted
I have some music copied as .wav files that were not imported via iTunes. I now want to copy this music into my iTunes but when I do, all the information (Track Name, Album, Artist, Track Number, etc.) is all dropped into the Track Name field in iTunes. This means I must hand type all the information into each column. Does anyone have some suggestions that I am unaware of so this does it automatically?
ThanksWAV format files do not carry tag information. When iTunes encounters a file with no tag information (be it a WAV or another format) it uses the file name as the song name, and leaves the other fields blank.

I have a .avi file that is not playing. It keeps telling me additional software is needed. I have Mac OS X 10.6.8. Can anyone explain why?
Because there's no codec installed on your system for that specific AVI, and there may be no Mac OS X component for it. Try installing Perian.

Mac suggestes downloads to open AVI files on HDVR. Telestream finds the plugged in HDVR file but will not play...blank black screen which has no sound or picture. DivX will not download, report sent to Aplle. Any ideas how to play the files?

Im trying to bring a movie from imovie to a pc using a flash drive, but the movie file (.mov) will not play on a pc. help!
I would like to offer you some additional hair, but I've pulled mine out as well. I have created a slideshow of my daughter's new house (a very nice place indeed) as a house-warming gift, took all the pix myself with a throw-away camera made into CD's, imported all of the photos, cropped and enhanced with Iaza online free photo editor, re-saved the new ones to a folder, imported the selected ones into iPhoto, had the best thematic photo printed in 8x10 format, bought the black DVD's, made the MPEG-4 movie as well as the suggested exportable to iPhone, created a folder with the slides, crafted a nice playlist in iTunes, merged it all in iPhoto, but cannot successfuly export it into iDVD. The technical documentation and writing for some of this stuff is sloppy and sometimes unintelligible. The instructional videos are incomplete. The One-on-One fellow was most helpful the other day and said Apple doesn't really have or support an functional DVD creation tool and suggested I choose one or another "app" at the "app store", but the reviews for the two major ones are shallow in depth and I haven't yet sprunf for the $20-$40 download so I can re-experience the difficult learning curve. The Macintoshs I once used were incredibly intuitive; the iMac requires some study. The slideshow I have is imperfect becauae it keeps reverting to custom slide-specific choices I have decided (several times) that I do not want, but it keeps slipping back into "Ken Burns" mode and some of the photos don't work in that mode because of their format. But I will settle for less-than-perfect if I can figure out the best way to export the MPEG-4 I have created into a Maxell DVD-R some time before my daughter's toddlers aged 4 and 2 get into kindergarten.

I am using an ion piece of equipment to record vinyl reccords to my iMac and in turn save them in iTunes. I have recorded many records this way and have never had a problem until yesterday. I recorded three songs from records to iTunes and was successful as they are on the song list and will play on the iMac. When I tried to sync them to my iPod they showed up on the menu but would not play. The iPod just skipped over the new guys. Am I doing something wrong or has my ion program flipped out? Any help would be appreciated by this old man. Thankyou
This might sound weird, but here's an idea which worked for me re music that was newly added to itunes and showed up in my ipod but wouldn't play - I simply played the tracks in itunes first, just a second of time or so will do it, not the whole track, then connect the ipod and sync again and this time they played - hope this helps.

Are you manually syncing or automatically syncing? If the latter, try syncing manually.
If you are getting the "the file format is not valid" message, suggest that you check out KB Article: http://support.apple.com/kb/sp569 which will tell you which files are "acceptable." -
I currnently have an Ipod Classic 160g. im having problems with my songs not playing all the way thru before skipping to the next track. on my computer the songs play thru all the way. its only on the Ipod, also the Ipod shows the song being there. for instance the song is 6 mins long,the time on the song goes down but like 2 mins in depending on the song it will jump aheaad. this is occuring with approximately 1/3 of the library. its really driving me nuts, ill just be getting into a song and blam its gone. Please someone who knows about this please respond.

The iPod seems to fail to play all of the occasional track that iTunes, and indeed other PMPs, are happy to play. There is probably some minor technical error in the internal structure of the file which is normally ignored by other playback software but causes the Classic to bail out.
You may like to try scanning the files with MP3 Validator which can find & fix some internal MP3 errors.
Some users have also suggested that completely removing all id3 tags and then replacing the information can be a solution. This can be achieved in iTunes by selecting an affected track, right/option clicking and using the option Convert id3 tags > None. Since some files may mistakenly have more than one tag you may need to repeat this action. Once you have confirmed that no tag is present you can replace the tag information using Convert id3 tags > V2.3 (I believe it is recommended to avoid using V2.4).
Personally I have found files for which these solutions don't work. In this case the workaround is either to re-rip the tracks or get iTunes to re-encode the file, e.g. convert AAC to MP3 or vice versa and sync the newly encoded file to the iPod instead. Because transcoding will cause a loss of fidelity you should keep your original file so that if a future iPod firmware resolves this issue you can put your original files back onto the iPod.

UCCX: Silent monitoring is not working and recorded file is also not playing

Running UCM 8.5 cluster with UCCX 8.5.
In CSD, silent monitoring is not working.
Windows XP OS is running on supervisor desktop. when i select the agent
then the silent monitoring icon will highlighted once i click on the icon,
after 5-7 seconds i am getting an error "Silent monitoring session has
failed".
Not able to playback the recorded files:
I can able to record and the file size is 2.6mb for approximate 3min
recording.When i tried to play from supervisor record viewer it is playing
but no voice is coming. And i downloaded using play & save option and
tried to play the .wav file but i can't hear any voice.
Problem is while playing back the recorded file. I can able to see the
recorded files in the UCCX.
Please help me out!!!

KrishnaIt's likely the same problem: CAD is not forwarding packets to CSD or the CCX recording service. Two common causes for this are:
The phone is not spanning to the PC port or does not allow PC Port VLAN Access. Change these options to true on the phone's configuration in CUCM.
The NIC of the agent's PC running CAD is not processing 802.1q-tagged Ethernet frames. It must not drop these and pass them into the Windows NDIS stack for CAD to get them. Google is your friend here; this commonly requires registry changes to make the NIC process the packets. -
IPod not playing songs/ not detected in iTunes!
Okay. I've been searching for days in forums, etc for a solution to no avail.
I have a 4GB ipod nano 3rd gen.
I run Windows Vista. I updated my iTunes to version 8 and plugged in my iPod to charge it. First time charging the iPod in this computer running Vista. Every other time I would charge in my other computer running XP.
When I connected the iPod I recieved the message saying the iPod may have disc problems. I cancelled the message. I recieved a message asking if I would like to sync the songs to or from the iPod. I chose to sync the songs from my iPod onto my computer (again, first time using this Vista computer).
After syncing the songs onto my Vista computer I noticed it had not synced all the songs. I ejected the iPod. Plugged it back in. This time when the message prompted about the disc needing repair I chose yes.
My iPod was not detected by iTunes, and has not been from that point on. Furthermore, I cannot play songs from my iPod. I can power it on, scroll through songs, etc, but when I choose a song to play it either flashes the album cover then that screen goes away right away, or it freezes for about ten seconds, in which time if I circle the wheel I hear my click volume going up and down but nothing on screen is happening at all. Another weird thing is I can load the Quiz Show game that plays clips of music and has you guess what they are, but when I play the game now it's just the Quiz Show music the whole time and none of my songs will play.
This is really weird and I don't know why no one has posted a solution on any websites yet. I have read so many differrent threads on so many differrent websites, but no one can answer my question.

5th gen Ipod not playing in any docking station
I have a 6th generation ipod classic that works great in my pioneer receiver and in both cars. I bought a 5th gen ipod on ebay for my wife and it seems to work just fine.
I restored it using itunes, then put synced songs to it. Everything works fine when it's connected to Windows but it won't play in any docking station. It gets a charge from the station, but won't play.
Does the 5th gen ipod not work in docking stations or is it possible mine isn't functioning right. I contacted the manufacturer of the station in one of the cars and they said all ipods should work.I have the same problem with a Pioneer X-HM50-K hifi system. My 5th gen ipod (system 1.3 which up-to-date iTunes claims is up-to-date, tried resetting/restoring/all that), when plugged into the docking bay, pauses the music and shows a tick mark after a while with the text "ok to disconnect" beneath it. The tick mark becomes a Pioneer logo after a while but that does not change the fact that the ipod does not react, neither to the command buttons on the Pioneer system (or on the remote control) nor to the buttons on the iPod itself (those do 'click', but have no effect). It does get charged, but doesn't play, just as in the top posting.
A friend's iPod nano works just fine on the Pioneer, and my iPod works fine for everything else (headphones, iTunes, other docking systems I tried at friends', ...). So there seems to be a specific incompatibility with Pioneer systems.
How can this problem be investigated and solved ? -
MOV files from Ipad not playing correctly in 2010 Windows PPT presentation
I inserted .mov files taken from Ipad 2 into a.ppt on my work PC. I saved these files to the folder containing all of the videos I am showing in the ppt-- the same folder where the .ppt is located as well. Then I inserted them as I do all videos (I create ppts often for work) -- and the clips that are horizontal play fine but the vertical ones do not play correctly- audio and video not in sync. any remedies? (using ppt 2010, converted files to wmv, didn't work either). I should add that when I viewed these files on my PC (by just clicking the file) they play fine, but they are not rotated correctly. This must have been my fault when I took the videos. However, when I insert them they are rotated correctly but just don't play right - looks like a Japanese movie. please help!

ITunes 7 and new iPod not playing video
OK here's my other problem:
I have a new iPod, and have downloaded iTunes 7 and Tiger.
I've downloaded a video from iTunes (Michael Jackson's Thriler).
But when I double click on it in 'purchased', it won't play. Nothing happens, no icon, nothing.
Then when I restarted I got a message after iPod syncing that said 'Thriller' not transferred because iPod cannot play it'.
Any idea why?! I thought that's what I paid for...!I am having a similar problem. I downloaded a song from iTunes a few minutes ago, but when I went to listen it, only part of the song plays. The song is abut 2:50 in length, but skips to another song in the playlist at about 1:30. It seems to pick the song it skips to rather randomly, fwiw!
Can I try downloading the song again, or will iTunes charge me for it a second time?

IPod NOT playing iTunes downloads - HELP!
I thought it was an audiobook I downloaded, but I re-downloaded it tonight and it still didn't work. So I downloaded a song and just like the book, it went swiftly into iTunes and played fine.
When I sync the iPod, the music comes over, but will NOT play. It tries for a few seconds, then moves back to the main menu.
Surfed help and discussions and haven't found this problem.
I have soft/hard reset, deauthorized/authorized, etc...but to no avail.
Any Thoughts???
