what's up?

Maybe some help here.

  • OIM LDAP sync default attributes

    Hi,
i am using LDAP sync to provision user/roles to LDAP (OID).
I did the experience, that organization cannot be sync'd to ldap using ldap sync.
Are there a list of all attributes, which will sync between OIM and LDAP (OID)?
    Thanks in advance!

This bit of XML just tells reconciliation to copy the "o" attribute in LDAP to a user database field usr_ldap_organization. It does not reconcile organizations as such. I hope the below is an accurate summary of handling of LDAP organizations by LDAP sync which will help.
    1) LDAP Synch does not reconcile organization objects into OIM
    2) LDAP Synch does provision organization objects to LDAP (although as pointed out perhaps you can customize something outside LDAP sync using an event handler)
    3) Users reconciled from LDAP to OIM ar eby default placed in one OIM organization based on the the LDAP Sync scheduled job settings, irrespective of their organization in LDAP (although their LDAP organization can be reconciled to an OIM user attribute, perhaps allowing you to do some more work in an event handler)?
    4) Users provisioned from OIM to LDAP use LDAP Container mapping to choose the organisation they are written to in LDAP. This is by default a simple set of attribute based rules, however custom code can be written in a plugin. Not that I found a bug that unfortunately the information that holds an OIM users OIM organization (ACT_KEY) is not made available to this plugin on create.
As to your further question, you can add other mappings as you require in the MDS files (LDAPUser.xml etc.) to map other attributes, either using supplied utilities to simply add UDFs (as mentioned in a previous post) or for less simple changes by modifying the XML by hand.

  • Sync Default Keychain Between iMac (10.6) - MacBook Air (10.8)

I want to sync the default keychain between two of my computers:
    iMac running 10.6.8
    MacBook Air running 10.8.4
I understand that keychain syncronization was a feature of MobilMe but it is not included in iCloud.
I've searched the Internet and found several authors who say that it can be done using Dropbox, sometimes with symbolic links, for example:
    http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/mac/syncing-keychains-between-macs-using-dropbo x/1743
    http://myownapp.com/manuals/tutorial_keychain/
Unfortunately, apparently (at least) 10.6.8 is very picky about the location of the default keychain, the one that opens automatically on login.  Apparently, the default keychain file must be at ~/Library/Keychains/ and symlinks do not fool the system into believing that it is there when the real file is actually in a Dropbox folder.
Here's what Keychain First Aid Version 4.1.1 (55004) says when it finds a symlink pointing to a keychain file in Dropbox (as opposed to finding the acual file itself):
    Repair started
Checking keychain configuration for nello (user ID=502)
    Home directory is /Volumes/User/users/nello
    Checked login keychain
    Checked password for ~/Library/Keychains/login.keychain
    Checked settings for ~/Library/Keychains/login.keychain
    Checked default keychain
Default keychain is set to ~/Dropbox/Sync Computers/Keychains/login.keychain (instead of ~/Library/Keychains/login.keychain)
    Default keychain set to ~/Library/Keychains/login.keychain
Warning: to use the passwords stored in “login.keychain”, you will be required to manually unlock that keychain. If this is not what you want, use the Keychain Access application to copy those items into “nello”, or delete the “login.keychain” keychain.
    Checked keychain search list
Keychain search list not properly configured
    Checked contents of ~/Dropbox/Sync Computers/Keychains/login.keychain
    Problems successfully repaired
    Repair completed
Apparently default keychains (that open automatically at login) must be located at ~/Library/Keychains/
Does anyone know a way around this location requirement?
Or does anyone have another idea of how to keep the default keychains on two different Macs in sych?
Thank you for your time and attention.

I'd seen Keychain2Go mentioned in the Apple Discussion forums.
I did some searching and Internet reviews sounded good so I downloaded it and read the help files.  My understanding from this is that Keychain2Go requires the Keychain's password.  Apparently, it decrypts the keychain entries, encrypts them with it's own method and shoves them in a database.  It appears to synchronize by comparing two databases over an encrypted channel (on a local network only) and then adding/modifying/deleting from local/remote the Keychain(s) as necessary.
Giving my Keychain password to a 3rd party application makes me nervous.  Perhaps I'm paranoid but I'm not comfortable with this.
    The search continues.

  • Tomboy web sync - default browser?

    Hello All,
I'm trying to get tomboy working with synchronization.  I've used this successfully in the past (multiple times), but I'm new to Arch Linux, so ran into a road block.   Basically when I try to use the Tomboy Web Sync, tomboy asks that I set up the default browser so that it can do oauth authentication.   I've tried a couple of different ways to set the default browser using gconf-editor, and gconftool-2, but nothing seems to work.
    Anyone figured this out?
    Thanks,
    Bobby

Nevermind, I think I just had to log out and log in fully.. looks like the $BROWSER environment variable is the way to go.
    export BROWSER=/usr/bin/firefox
place in .bashrc, and you should be good to go.

  • A AD Sync default scheduled job

    Hi all
Can someone give me some guidance in recreating the default dirsync/A AAD sync scheduled task as mine was accidently deleted :(
I've been trying to find some guidance on the net but my Google Feng-Shui must be off today.
    Any help would be appreciated

Meh, just create it manually then. Basically, a task that runs every 3h, uses credentials for either the AAD_2347blabla account or any other user that is added to the relevant AAD admin groups, and starts the process "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Azure
    AD Sync\Bin\DirectorySyncClientCmd.exe"
Here's an example XML of an exported task:

  • Google sync default calendar

how do i chose what calendar on my BB, google sync uses to link my google calendar?

    Hi alex12344321,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.
Your Gmail® calendar will synchronize only with the calendar you have set as default on your BlackBerry® Torch™ 9800 smartphone. You can verify or modifiy this in Options > Device > Advanced System Settings > Default Services.
This KB article provides more information on synchronizing calendars."Using the Calendar application on a BlackBerry smartphone that supports multiple CICAL service books" http://bbry.lv/Pze8O2
    Hope this helps.

  • BT Cloud Sync - Default View of Shared Folder Cont...

I share a folder within 'BT Cloud Sync'.  When the folder is opened via the BT Cloud icon in my Windows 7 notification area the image files it contains are rendered in list view.  On opening the folder  via its share link the files were formerly rendered as thumbnails but now appear as images, variously resized and cropped. I'd prefer thumbnnails but failing that I'd  like to make list view the default. List view can be selected each time the folder is accessed via the share link but the setting doesn't 'stick' so I'd be grateful if anyone can suggest a method of making it permanent.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Aplogies to BT Cloud and the forum. I forgot that my browser was running inside a sandbox which only allowed the list view setting, or indeed any other data,  to be permanently stored if suitably configured. When so configured the setting 'stuck', as as one would expect.

  • 10.4.7 update screws up image file associations

Since installing the 10.4.7 update, all my image files now open in Preview as the default application, regardless of Type or Creator.
I know that the file association of an individual can be changed via Get Info, however, I have 11,000+ image files in various formats as well as several thousand PDFs scattered across three hard drive, and do not want to waste several days tracking them all down and changing their file associations manually.
I know that the "Change All" button in the Get Info panel is supposed to change all documents of a given type to the selected application, however, the "Change All" function seems to be broken because hitting "Change All" simply reverts everything to Preview.
Deleting Preview does not solve the problem, as everything then defaults to Image Tricks; deleting Image Tricks simply defaults everything to Color Sync; deleting Color Sync defaults everything to Graphic Converter, which is fine for JPEGS, but I need Photoshop files to open in Photoshop, Illustrator files to open in Illustrator, etc.
Is there a script or other simple way of changing the default application for various file types at the system level, i.e., so that .JPG always open in Graphic Converter, .PSD and .TIF in Photoshop, .PDF in Acrobat Reader, etc.?
    Thanks.
    2.0 GHz G5 Dual

Well, I had it happen to me again yesterday, i.e., all graphics files defaulting to Preview. I changed them back using the procedure I used earlier, but if this continues, it's going to be a MAJOR problem.
    Even after you selected, for
example, Graphic Converter as the default application
in the Open With pop-up menu, per step 3 in "Mac OS X 10.4 Help: Changing
the application that opens a document."
Unfortunately, no, not even after selecting Graphic Converter as the default app in the Open With menu.
    I think you
mean Show Inspector, which is Command-Option-I, vs.
Command-I for Get Info. The Inspector displays
common info for a selection of objects, so you can
change the default app for multiple files in one
    window.
Hmm ... I get the same "Multiple Item Info" panel whether I hit Command-I and Command-Option-I if I have more than 10 files selected. In any case, I hit Command-I to bring up the Multiple Item Info panel.
    3. The anomalies you described are very strange. As
a general check, run the Procedure specified in my
    "Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache
Corruption" FAQ. I'd recommend at least running
    Steps 1-3.
I'll give it a go. Thanks!

  • LR3 Syncronize folder finds "missing" photos that are not missing

Having switched to LR3 I made some new catalogs and syncrnized some folders.  LR3 kept find a ton of missing photos though and I was sure they were not missing.  SO I clicked on the "show missing files" button and sure enough it just showed me hundreds of photos that were not actually missing.  I checked them by right clicking on them and using the "show in finder" option to check that they were indeed still on my disk.
Whats happening ?  It seems to do it every time and I have tried it with several folders.  Every time it thought it found hundreds of missing photos.

    Melissa,
I did not upgrade my catalog from LR2 to 3 , instead I started an entirely new catalog. I was hoping then to import some old LR2 catalogs into the new LR3 one but alas that plan has fallen foul of the import bug that effects importing catalogs with the same folders in them so I cant do that..... but thats all in another thread.
I think maybe I was not clear enough becuase it sounds like you didnt quite catch my point.  My point is that the photos are not missing at all, they ares still clrearly displayed in the catalog and I can double click them and open them no problem.  I do not have to locate them at all. They are still there.  It is just lightroom saying they are not there when i sync a folder.
So to clarify, when i syncronize,it tells me that X number of files are missing.  If I click the button to "show missing files"  all the photos that it shows, are still there.  It does not display them as missing, it displays them as normal.  Now this would not reall be a problem except that the sync default is to remove missing files.  So if you leave that option selected, LR removes a ton of files that were not missing!
Does that make it clearer, sorry i was not so clear the first time.

  • Nokia N82 and Microsoft certificate install

I got my N82 after using Windows Mobile for over 6 years I decided to get a phone that does email not the otherway round. I install MfE or Mail for Exchange and started sync'ng and was told to install a certificate. After spending the best part of a week trying to get the certificate installed I am stuck. The best resource I have found online so far is http://www.redelijkheid.com/symcaimport/ which allows you to upload a .cer file and then download it to your file. All the other sites talk about modify web sites and playing with the MIME, etc. That just disable the Exchange Sync default website since you need to overwrite the SSL port. Cannot use OpenSSL is I run Windows XP not linux. I see a N95 user had the same problem. If you copy the cer file, even if it is renamed it does not open on the phone if you export a .p12 it wants you to enter a "new key store password". I know with my last phone an imate I had to get a certificate install package, is there any such thing.
Anyone out there got any ideas or pointers
Unhappy email user, happy phone user

Might not help a great deal but you can use OpenSSL on Windows, but you'll need to compile it. How you do that, I haven't got a clue as I normally use Linux for that kind of thing my self.

Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!

  • IPod Using too much Memory

I just finished using my 2gig iPod nano as a harddrive to transfer songs from my home computer to my laptop.
Now that I've finished transferring my songs, I've deleted the folder I made on my iPod with the expectation that I will clear up the memory that was taken up by that folder.
The problem is that, however, my iPod is still reading on its Settings -> About section and on iTunes that I am wasting that harddrive space even though I deleted the folder I transferred. So now apparently I'm using up 1.1gigs of memory for only 80 songs, when before they took up a tiny fraction of that. Any way I can get this fixed?

    You should restore the Nano.
To restore, connect the iPod, open the iPod updater and click restore. It will take around 5 minutes and will take the iPod back to factory settings, deleting all the music and hopefully getting rid of the "used" memory problem.
Restoring won't change anything in the iTunes library, only on the Nano.
Reload as normal after a restore, making sure to change from automatic sync (default) if needed.

  • Setting up calendars os 3.1.2 (newbie)

    Hi All,
I can't figure out how to setup multiple calendars. (This is a brand new unit.)
    Under: Settings/Mail,Contacts,Calendars/"Calendars"
    I see (only) two fields:
    New Invitation Alerts (off)
    Time Zone Support
A book I'm using shows two other fields are supposed to be here, they are:
    Sync
    Default Calendar
but these fields do not exist on my ipod. Have they been moved??
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
    Rob

First of all, welcome to the forum, rh_cal. I have a Touch I purchased in September, so mine is pretty new, too. In the Settings section you mention, I don't see Sync, and I suspect I only see Default Calendar because I do have multiple calendars set up; if you don't, it would make sense that you don't need a default named, as everything would go into the same calendar.
My understanding is that you must set up your multiple calendars via your computer; that would mean using iCal or Entourage on your Mac or Outlook on your PC (see the user guide for your Touch). Once you've done that, attach your Touch to your computer and select it. Then select the Info tab and scroll down to Calendars and select which calendars you would like to sync to your Touch.
    HTH!

  • Extension Conflict Causing Mac to crash

My Classic environment in Mac OSX Tiger keeps on crashing (no error messages) and causing bottleneck in OSX. I can only quit Classic by a FORCE QUIT as nothing else works.
I have been having this problem for a while know and have tried virtually everything to resolve it (repair disk permissions, re-install Classic, rebuild desktop, increase Classic Memory) and nothing works.
Any tips that might resolve this tough bug?
    Thanks..

    Use a "Half-Interval Search":
In the Advanced pane in System Preferences > Classic choose "Turn Off Extensions" and Start/Restart Classic. If it boots up, you have a problem with Extensions.
Open Extensions Manager Control Panel. Select about HALF your Extensions and give this group a new name. Restart Classic.
If Classic crashes, the problem is in the first Half.
If Classic does not crash, the problem is in the second half.
Divide the offending group in half, give this group a new name, and restart.
Continue in this fashion until you have found the cultprit(s).
