Sync Entourage Projects between computers?

I'm running OS 10.4.8 and Entourage 11.2.5 and I'd like to be able to sync/share the Entourage Projects I create with my laptop. I haven't seen any specific instructions on how to do this.
I have a .Mac account, too. I know that might come in handy.

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
I do not believe that sort of synchronization is currently supported with Entourage under the Sync Services framework, but one of these two links should send you in the right direction…

  • Moving Motion Projects Between Computers

My apologies, as I'm sure this must have been answered elsewhere - however I can't find the answer, so:
I'm moving a Motion project between two computers (Project file & media ) - I can do this easily with Final Cut Projects (you just relink the files) however - even when I "relink" the files in my Motion project - my timeline remains empty (unlike FCP, which will show the files):
What's the best technique to move Motion files between computers?
    Thanks In Advance

Good tip actually - but sadly, it isn't working that way!
I don't get it - could there be anything I'm doing wrong in the transfer/copy procedure? Is there some way I can change the mapping/references in the preferences from absolute to relative to the files?
    Thanks in advance

  • Syncing a project between two computers

I just got a new MacBook which I use when I travel every week. I have a project that I started at home on my 24" iMac. When I'm at home I would like to continue using the iMac because of the big screen. However I would still like to work on the project when I have time on the road.
So the question is "Is is possible to copy / sync a whole project with clips between two computers and be able to go back and forth between the computers?" I realize I might have to copy the whole file.
Better yet is there a way to keep the project on an external drive and use iMovie on each computer to open up and work on the project.
    Thanks,
    Alan

    Yes this is possible.
First, make sure your external drive is formatted as MacOS (journalled) or HFS+ (journalled)
Go into iMovie and from the Project list, drag your project to the External Drive by dragging the project name to the icon for the external drive in the project list in iMovie.
Now select File/Consolidate Media and choose Move (not copy). Everything will be consolidated to the external drive where the project is. You can open it on another Mac.
See the iMovie Help for further details.

  • Is it possible to Sync logic projects between two computers?

    Hi All,
I've never had to do this before, but now I have two Macs running Logic Pro (X).  As stated above, how would I go about syncing projects?  I use Dropbox to sync some data from apps back and forth, and it works pretty well, but that seems impractical with the large file sizes.  (Not that I've written it out, but I'm just sayin...)  There's no iCloud support, right?  Okay, and if this a repeat question, my apologies.

If the two Macs are on the same network.. Use a shared network drive to store and access everything?
There is no iCloud support.. I'm guessing simply because of the size of files that would be stored up there.. which would in essence, have the same issues as using Dropbox would..

  • Syncing Bridge CC between computers

    Hi all,
Is it possible to sync Bridge CC settings between multiple computers.
Most other CC apps do, so why not with Bridge. This could be very usefull for Collections, Keywords etc.
Maybe a solution that involves Hazel (yep, I'm on a Mac).
So far I have found nothing satisfying on this subject.
Or is this something that Adobe is coming up with very soon?!

After posting this question I was curious to see if I could manage some sort of syncing with Hazel (noodlesoft.com, only for Mac).
    And guess what?
    I did!
At this moment I can sync my Bridge Collections and Keywords file between an iMac and a MacBook Pro via my NAS (but this could also be DropBox or similar).
What I have done (this is only relevant for people who are using, or wanting to use, Hazel on their Mac(s)):
I've created a folder on my NAS called 'Bridge InBetween'.
On both my Macs (iMac and MBPro) I created a rule in Hazel to sync the folder 'Collections' and the file 'Adobe Bridge Keywords.xml' to the folder on the NAS.
(This folder and file can be found in 'User/yourusername/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge CC')
Because I do a sync, and not a simple copy that overwrites whatever has the same name, the most up-to-date files are copied and overwritten.
Then, I let Hazel run a script, again on both Mac's, to check between the local Adobe Bridge folder and the folder on the NAS to see if anything on the NAS is newer than on the local Adobe Bridge folder.
If so, then these files are copied from the NAS to the local Adobe Bridge folder, overwriting any existing file(s).
It is that plain simple, and it works for me because I have both Mac's set up in exactly the same way. This is important for syncing the Collections.
The Collections in Bridge are just plain XML files (e.g. collection.filelist) in which Bridge stores the name and path of a file in that collection.
In my case it means that any file in a collection has the same path on both Macs, as long as this file is on a NAS Share or inside my daily (local) work folder, which is synchronised between my Macs thanks to a very usefull NAS utility.
If you must deal with Macs that are not setup exactly the same (username, folder locations and names etc.), you'll have to edit the Collections file to match it.
And because these are XML files, a simple 'search&replace' might do the trick.
    Bottom Line:
The syncing works for me because of two identical configured Macs. If this is not the case, then the syncing of Collections can be very hard and time consuming (changing pathnames).
Syncing of the Keywords or even a Bridge Workspace should be no problem, because there is no pathname or whatever stored in these files.
I hope someone benefits form my findings.

  • Is it Possible to Sync Certain Projects Between Macs?

It would be very helpful if my wife and I could synchronize certain Aperture projects (not our entire Aperture libraries) between the Aperture libraries on several Macs. Is this possible? We both use the .aplibrary scheme to store our photos.
    Thanks!

    Hi David,
Aperture is a single-user application, designed to be used by one person in one place at one time.  It provides no multi-user functions, nor is there any automatic way to sync Libraries for use in different locations.
There are work-arounds involving exporting and importing/merging, or putting the shared Projects on a Library on a (literally) shared disk that only one of you opens at any time.  That's it, afaik.
You can add your voice to the chorus asking for some sharing/syncing via "Aperture➞Provide Aperture Feedback".

  • Sync'ing users between computers ?

    Hello All,
I just bought a new MacBook Pro and was wondering whether it's possible to "share" the same account between the two. That is, somehow sync my user data so I have access to all my files/preferences no matter which macbook i'm using.
The infrastructure available is: Time Capsule, iDisk, internet all the time, local network at home.
    Thank you.

I use DropBox it works very good for keeping more than one Mac in sync. Unlike iDisk it's fast and can be backed up to Time Machine. DropBox is free up to to 2 GB's but you can buy 50GB's for $99/yr or 100GB's for $199/yr. BTW, all the files in you DropBox are also on your local hard drive for easy access, just like folders you already have.
There's also Chronsync. I've got it and have basically stopped using it and switched to DropBox.

  • Best Way to Share Premiere Pro Project Between Computers

I have Premiere Pro on a Mac.
In Final Cut Pro we use Media Manager to move projects and it works pretty great. Is there a Premiere Equivalent?
I have media from a shoot that is duplicated on two computers. Each computer has a different project and edit associated with that meda. I would like put both projects on one machine.
I copied the project from computer A to computer B and re-linked the media, but the edit is screwed up. Is there a trick to this? Should I do some sort of media move too?

If you both have the exact same elements the edit should open up totally normal. Where I work we constantly give each other just the prproj file because we all have exactly the same editing elements, such as promos, lower-thirds, bumps, voiceovers, music, animations. So basically it's extremely simply because we have a folder structure for each program that we edit and that makes things extremely simple. So at the very most we have to relink 4-5 folders because once you re-link one thing a category/folder everything else is auto-pilot. Because Premiere then finds the rest of the stuff from that specific category inside the folder. So re-linking is fairly easy, as long as everyone keeps their folders correct.
However like Steven correctly mentioned you can go to project>project mananger and you copy all your clips to a new folder/location. You can make it create a trimmed version of the project or a full version of the project. But if you and the other person both have the exact same stuff then you shouldn't need to even use the project mananger, if you re-link all the media correctly there shouldn't have been any issue, I've done this literally 1,000 times and never had a problem unless I accidently mis-linked something.

  • Transfer events and projects between computers

How do I transfer iMovie '08 events and projects from one iMac to another iMac? I need to free up some disk space on the first iMac, and the second iMac has iMovie '09. I am using Time Capsule as a backup for both computers.

Thanks -- I will try that shortly. A wrinkle that I neglected to mention is that the library on the MacBook Air has photos previous to the India trip that will be duplicates of some on the other computers' libraries (and in some cases they're early versions of photos that have been edited on the desktops). Is there a way to transfer less than the full library? Thanks.

  • Help Syncing Muse Files between computers

I created a my first website using Muse CC and published through Business Catalyst using my work computer.  When I log on at home on my lap top, site isn't listed.  How do I make this happen?

If you're using a Mac, creative cloud will be on your taskbar next to wifi, time, volume etc. Open the dropdown, go to files on the tabs and start syncing.
On a PC alternatively, it will be on the taskbar at the bottom (cloud runs in the background). I've not tried it on my PC at home, but I imagine it's a similar situation.
Once you put some files in there, you should have access between both machines. Make sure you put the whole website folder (where your files are saved) in the cloud, or alternatively, export as HTML and put those files in the cloud.
    Hope that helps.

  • Sync'ing Files Between Computers

I've just invested in a MacBook Pro to go along with my iMac in my daily workflow. I have one folder where I save all my work files (graphic designer). What I'm trying to do is find a way where I can have a copy of this folder on each Mac, and it will keep sync'd up with up-to-date files. I might find myself working fro my iMac in the morning, then needing to up and head to the office that afternoon. As a result, I need all my files to be up-to-date.
The only solution I can come up with is to purchase an external HD, and have that serve as the save-point for all my files. Then, that drive will go with me wherever my MacBook Pro goes, that way I have all the appropriate files.
However, I want to first fully explore all other possibilities to see if there's a better solution.
Thanks in advance for any input.
    Chris

    Chronosync is perfect for this:
    http://www.econtechnologies.com/site/Pages/ChronoSync/chrono_overview.html
You are going to have exactly my set-up; MacBook Pro and Mac Pro. When I'm in the office it's the Pro I use, when I hit the road it's the laptop. Chronosync will let you specify folders etc. that need to be kept up to date and you can kick the sync. off manually (if you hit the road unexpectedly) or scheduled; I have mine run overnight.
BTW, I have nothing to do with the company, just a very happy user!

  • Syncing old email between computers

I have an old eMac running Tiger (10.4) with a buch of of email files on it.
I'd like to move these files onto my current system, a MacBook running Lion (10.7).
Ohter than creating some temporary systems, using Leapord & SnowLeapord, to move the data
is there a simple way I can move these files onto the newer "Main" system so I can Retire the eMac?

A note about Migration Assistant. when you set up a new Mac, you need to run Migration Assistant before setting up a user account: then it will set up a user account with the same name as the one you are migrating from and transfer your Home Folder with all its documents and data, including preferences, so that you can resume work very quickly. (It's probably better not to let it migrate applications, but to do that yourself).
If you set up a user account first, when you run Migration Assistant it will create a new separate user account and migrate all the data to that, leaving your with the issue of having to transfer everything to the account you want it in.

  • ITunes does not sync playback position between computers

I have a Macbook (10.7) and a Mac Pro (10.8). The same audiobook on both but iTunes on the Macbook doesn't seem to remember where I left off when I was listening on the Pro. I resisted upgrading from 10.6 for a long time but isn't icloud supposed to do this?! I can't find any settings that control this and, yes, the audiobook is set to "remember playback position"
    Thanks for your help!

    SeaBeast wrote:
... on the device your are listenning the track.
    Beast,
This is similar to my question, however I'm talking songs, not audio books, here.
How is it possible to have different "remember playback position" settings for different devices using the same iTunes library?
The example is that the iPod I connect to my car audio always (annoyingly) starts playing the same song whenever the iPod is switched on. I want to use the "remember playback position" setting to to stop this, and instead start playing the song from where it left off previously. I assume I could use a batch change on iTunes to accomplish this. However, I wouldn't want that setting used for other devices.
    Thoughts?

  • Sync Entourage Between 2 Computers

Other than using a Palm and other than e2sync (which I don't understand yet how it works) is there any way to sync Entourage on 2 computers over the internet?
PS. e2sync turns your Entourage info into iCal and then to isync to send to the other computer. But does the other computer that is syncing turn the iCal info back into Entourage?

I use the Missing Sync for Palm OS to sync my Palm and Entourage. I suppose you could sync to your palm and then to each computer, or fudge something with Sharing on System Prefs. allowing you to access the synced computer and transfer the data to the second computer.
