Sync errors. Sync errors everywhere.

I have never had sync errors in the past. This is entirely new, and entirely aggravating.
Why is the latest iTunes so absolutely terrible?
When I try to sync, iTunes freezes and has to be shut down, and my iPod removed, likely causing corruption.
Now I'm getting errors that say that I have a 'duplicate name specified' and that the 'iPod cannot be synced.'
I have made threads about this in the past, but then I thought it was my iPod that had the problems. Now I know it's iTunes being a buggy POS.
I'm not here about fixing this. I want to know if anybody has any previous versions of iTunes archived so I can use those instead, because the newest version is an absolute trainwreck of bugs and errors.
And I want to know if Apple has said anything about fixing this.

In addition to the two errors above, when iTunes doesn't crash it ends up syncing endlessly.
I'm thinking this is iTunes syncing with the iPod but the iPod isn't responding, as it doesn't show the 'Syncing' spinny thing on it, just the 'Connected' icon.

This has been very aggravating for me for a while now. I've been trying to sync music on my ipod touch, but I keep getting a message that says "ipod cannot be synced internal device error". I tried to restore my touch and I even downloaded the latest updates ..but no use. Every time i try to sync.. I get the same message..I'm starting to give up hope. That is precisely what my mid-2010 MacBoook Pro 13 was doing before the drive finally died after an Apple Genius rebooted it a dozen or so times. I have since read about the exact same thing happening to others, including a writer for The Atlantic magazine who had never had an issue with a Mac before. Do a back-up ASAP to make sure you don't lose anything and see about replacing the HDD. It is only about $140 for a new drive. The real issue is if you lose your data, too. So, make sure you do that back-up!

I am getting a line at bottom of screen about Sync encountering an error. It happens on every page. What's wrong?

I am not aware of any changes that would cause this although I am having a problem with Hotmail in that it is keeping me at some times from emailing or forwarding email content. There was a item sent me that brought up warnings from AVG, WOT and another source but I did not open that email content or at least did not see it open as the warnings caused me to hit the "x" to get off that email.
I am not sure why I use Sync as I have not had problems before or need to check on what it does for me.
The issue with Hotmail is causing me to think more about using Thunderbird but I need to swap contacts and business connections completely at a later time this or next month.

it is a failing GPU (you have a Nividia GPU right), this is a known problem. Probably the person whom had this laptop had this problem too, before he sold it off to you.

I have it set to manually manage music and videos. The albums appear in the music section under Devices, but they don't appear on my actual ipod.
I have never had any problems doing this before, only in the last few days.

I am having the exact same issue as you are with my iPod nano. This started happening the same day after I updated the iPod software, so I wonder if it is a bug within the software that Apple needs to resolve. I dragged 3 playlists of new music from my iTunes over to my iPod and sometime while it was trying to add those songs, the error 13019 popped up. Another note, which may not be related at all, was that iTunes told me at some point during this process (I believe before the error notification, but I'm not sure and that may be helpful to know) that I did not have enough room on the iPod to copy all of the songs, but it would copy as many as it could. What is curious, like in your situation, is now all the songs it supposedly copied appear to be on the iPod under the Device->iPod->Music label in iTunes when it is plugged into my computer, the playlists in question are also showing up there, and it does indeed say my memory is full under the iPod's general tab in iTunes. However, when going through my actual iPod when it is not plugged in, none of those songs or playlists are anywhere to be found.
Anyways, all the established solutions to the 13019 error do not apply to this situation, as my iPod has always been set to manually managed so "unchecking" the Sync Music option under the Music tab of the iPod and rechecking it will not work because it was never checked in the first place. And voice memos are obviously not applicable since we are not talking about an iPhone failing to sync music.
Unless anyone can provide a new solution here, I may just have to take my computer and iPod up to the genius bar. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Error: sync audio & midi

I've searched the forum and it seems that a lot of people are having this problem - although I haven't found a solution.
I am getting the following error message:
"Error while trying to sync audio and midi. Sample rate 42572 recognized. Check conflict between logic express and external devices".
Here's what I'm using:
Intel MacBook Pro, OS 10.4.8
M-audio Midiman 2x2
Old Yamaha Clavinova controller
When I was using a powerPC iMac, everything was fine. Now that I'm using this macbook pro (intel), I'm having this error come up every 5 seconds during playback and recording.
What can I do? Is this an Intel compatibility problem or is there something else going on?

Yes. I've increased buffer sizes...
I copied the file over to my power PC mac and everything is working fine. I have a feeling it's just a compatibility issue with using a power pc program on an intel mac.
I will try downloading the intel update. If anyone else has any other suggestions, please suggest!

Error Syncing Outlook Calendar

I recenty installed BB Desktop Manager to sync my personal BB Torch. When I go into Desktop Manager to sync calendar I get the following error message: Error Encounted, Error code: 0x80043ac9 check documention.
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing Desktop Manager and the problem continues. I have also shut off the wireless sync as well.
Any ideas?

I had the same problem. Wasted 3 weeks googling, installing and re-installing the software. The problem is with invalid characters in one of your calendar items. My faulty appointment did not have any pre-1900 dates as BlackBerry's website says. The only way I could find this faulty record was to:
make a backup of all my calendar entries on the phone using Backup in Desktop Software
delete say last month of entries in the calandar on the phone
synchronise, if you get the error again the faulty record is somewhere before the last month
delete another month of entries, synchronise and so on
when you get to the point that you don't get the error message than delete all calandar entries on the phone by using Delete Data in Desktop Software and Restore all the entries from the Backup
then its a matter of isolating the faulty record by deleting week by week in that faulty month.
There is no way to find out which entry corresponds to the record number given at the time the error message is shown. Pretty annoing.

Firefox sync getting an error while syncing

I my previous profile was corrupt and not working, so I recently created a new profile and logged it into my sync account. Everything seemed fine at first, but towards the end of the day I started getting the error message at the bottom of the screen that sync was encountering an error while syncing.

Okay, I have just cleared all my history and I am still getting the error. When I have "history" unselected this computer syncs up fine, with it selected I get the error. Is there some additional information that can help narrow down what is causing the problem.

Ipod cannot be synced. Unknown error (-48)

I've had my 80 gig ipod classic for 4 months now, and I've had very few problems with it. Whenever I've had an issue with iTunes not recognizing the ipod when I plugged it in, it was easily resolved with a reset or reinstalling iTunes, or restarting the computer. However, today when I went to add some new files to my ipod, I had to install the newest version, 1.1.1, and after installing that version and trying to sync the files to my ipod, iTunes simply refused. Repeatedly I'd get the error "Ipod cannot be synced. Unknown error (-48). I've been browsing this site and others to find an answer, I've tried all the standard ipod fixes (five Rs) and toggled with the syncing options, namely syncing only checked songs and manual sync, and it won't load any new music either way. I have Windows XP home edition on a Sony Vaio that's a few years old, and I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me fix this issue with my ipod.

Another thing I've noticed is that when I leave my ipod plugged into my computer, the "other" part of what's on my ipod increases slowly. There's actually more of this orange "other" data on my ipod than music, and there's absolutely nothing on my ipod except a few thousand music files and two videos. At least, there shouldn't be.

Oh yes, me too. Two days ago I bought my 160GB iPod Classic, but I have not been able to put anything in it. First the sync seemed to take hours (ca.6GB/1400 songs) and finally I had to disconnect without eject, because the iTunes and my computer got jammed. Again and again the same thing. Unknown error (-48) I recall.
Then after updating the iPod software (now 1.1.1) and reinstalling the iTunes a couple of times, the iTunes does not recognise my iPod at all. iPod says first it is syncing, then just connected, but nothing in iTunes.
Like a kid with who has a brand new toy, but is not able to play with it.
I tried calling the Apple support, but they just dodged the question and apparently had no idea. Anyone, how can I get some music into my brand new iPod?

Had my nano for 6 months no issues with sync of music or photos, a few weeks ago every time I plug it to sync an error "ipod cannot be synced an unknown error occurred (-40)" click ok and it goes ahead with music sync but not photos.

removed photo sync and no error message. checked for updates but ok.
4.14GB free space on ipod, tried syncing only 1 photo and error message returned?

New ipod not syncing to library - error message -69?

Just bought new ipod and it begins to sync with my existing library, but once it gets to the "K"'s it says it can't sync a particular song and then only syncs a tiny fraction of what it was syncing before the error message.
I thought it was a particular problem with the song, so I deleted the song. Then I deleted an entire artist. Then it had the same issue with the next artist in line alphabetically.
Help!

The message is saying that iTunes can find the file for "Stuff you need to know part 3" can't be found. Does (what ever it is, a song? podcast or what) play in iTunes? Try deleting and redownloading.

When syncing photos getting error iPhone can not be read from or written to

I am getting an error only when I try to sync photos. Error is iPhone can not be read from or written to. This only happens when I am syncing photos, so far everything else syncs fine. I have an iPhone 3G S. I had some pictures on the iPhone that I deleted, still no sync. I am restoring the iPhone right now.

I am having the same issue. I get "iphone unable to sync, an unknown error occurred (-51)" I have restored twice and once even set up as a new iphone. Nothing so far has worked. If anyone has any suggestions, please pass them on

In mid July, after the firefox update, I had decided to close firefox like I usually do before I open the client for my MMORPG Aion, so I did. I end up not turning on firefox for a few days and when I did my bookmarks were gone as well as my toolbar bookmarks and my history. I start to wonder what happened and then I realised that there was a grey bar at the bottom of my browser stating, "Sync encountered an error while syncing: Unknown error. Sync will automatically retry this action.." I had no idea why this would happen as I never had this problem before so I look at the firefox support database but since I'm quite the greenhorn when it comes to programming there was only so much I could understand. I did try looking for corrupt or locked profiles but I saw none. Now as of today it's going on 2 months since the problem began and just today I recieved the firefox 32.0 update but still have this problem so I'm at my wits end and I not sure if I'll ever get it working again. Also my sync account is the one under the new system I had updated a few days before the problem began it also seems to be working on my other devices. Im lost without my bookmarks please help.
