Sync errors with Outlook calendar

I know this has been raised in various forms in other posts, but there doesn't seem to be any consistency or permanent resolution.  I have a Curve that I am syncing with Microsoft Outlook.  Environment is Vista, Outlook 2007, BB Desktop Manager 5.0.1.18.  Contacts, tasks, and notes sync fine.  Caledar sync sometimes works sometimes doesn't.  Error message varies.  Now have it configured to always remove everthing from the device and just copy Outlook entries.  Still get errors - sometimes.  I've been working on this for almost a year now - trying different solutions - from removing the intellisync folder to compeltely uninstalling and reinstalling desktop manager. This is actually my wife's phone and she's about ready to ditch the phone and go back to her old Treo.  I'm not the only one with this problem - there are similar posts in all the BB forums.  And I'm fed up with hearing the problem is with Outlook.  Outlook may be a problem, but the intellisync software should know how to deal with it by now.  Someone please help !!!  before my wife files for a divorce...

Same problem - no solution yet and lots of attempts to detect and repair Outlook 2007 as recommended - no change.

  • Error when syncing blackberry with Outlook calendar

I had sync all set up and working fine.  I would occassionally get an error, but could solve it by resetting the configuration, then reconfiguring it.  Now I get an error every time, even immediately after resetting/reconfiguring.  The log shows that the process is failing when it is reading a record from my Outlook calendar.  Even after I delete the offending record, and several before and after it, the sync process fails again!  Is there some reliable way to debug and fix this problem?
    Thanks,

  • Sync issue with Outlook Calendar

I just got my first BB - the Pearl 8120.  I installed the Desktop Manager v4.6 off the BB web on an XP tablet pc.  I set it up to syncronize with my outlook 2003.  The sync worked fine for the contacts, however, when it started syncing the calendar, it started up saying it was reading from MS Outlook Calendar and read through the items until it reached 2096/13344.  It stalled for about 30-45 seconds and then started up again until it reached 4613.  It stalled again, but started up again.  At record 6089, a message comes up that says "Intellisync - The operation terminated unexpectedly".  I push "ok" and it returns to the desktop manager.  If I push sync again, it comes up and says "Intellisync - unknown error reported".  I have to close out of the desktop manager and restart to have it sync again.  I tried syncing just the notes and it worked fine.  I also sync'd the tasks with no issues.  However, everytime I try syncing the calendar, it bombs out.
I tried to see if there was a suspicious calendar entry in outlook, but I can't find which entry it is bombing out on (just the number - the entries listed in the log don't appear to be in a specific order).
I turned off my anti-virus and had the same luck.
I also went into the advanced section of backup and restore to delete the database (recommendation from BB website technical support), but there are no databases listed at all for the computer databases.
I have been using hotsync from Palm to sync with my palm.  Active sync is also installed on my system.
    Any ideas?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Ok- I think I found a solution.  AT&T directed me to a BB document KB01451 which shows you how to turn on advanced logging capability.  Evidently, I had a few records in my Outlook database where the date codes were corrupted for some unknown reason.  I followed the directions to turn on the logging.  Then, do a sync.  After you get the error message, look in the tif.log using notepad and scroll to the bottom of the document.  Within the first few lines, you will see the subject line.  Go into Outlook calendar and go into the advanced find.  Type in the subject line and have the search look for the subject title.  If you have more than one entry with the same name, you can probably figure out the specific record with a location or some other identifying mark.  If not, you need to process all the records you found.  What I did was open up the record - each corrupted record had a reoccurance set.  I went into the reoccurance tab located under tools.  I selected ok and acknowledged the warning it would give me about changes to some events may be changed.  I then saved the appointment.  I then went into the directory of the logs and renamed the logs.  You can also just erase them if you don't want to keep track of them.  By the way, you will probably have to shut down the desktop manager and Outlook in between the errors - you may have to close outlook through the task manager as it gets hung due to the error.  You just have to keep going through the process until you find all the corrupted records - I had 6 in my file of 13k records.  I have no idea why this was happening - the records were from many years ago to a few weeks ago....not a good sign!!  My Palm didn't seem to have an issue with these records, so I don't know why they were an issue with the BB....but I am up and running after several hours of messing with this - hopefully this will help someone else.

  • New Iphone OS5 Sync Error With Outlook

    Hello everyone,
Below are the errors that I keep recieving when I try to sync my Iphone, with my Outlook 2010. I highlight the Outlook abd click next because, it is the most up to date. I guess my next question is, what can I do to fix it?

    Hi,
This way I found the corrupt reoccuring entry:
synch with outlook ran to error - found a post saying that deleting all calendar entries in phone may help
calendar on phone can just delete entries in past - so changed clock to future time and wanted to delete all entries
'system error' or so came when I tried delete all calendar entries
start playing with changing phone clock to various future dates and trying to delete calendar
deleting was only possible when clock on phone was anytime before the end of reoccurance of wrong calendar entry - when all instances of reoccuring entry were 'in past' for the phone, than deletion crashed with error
Don't know if there was attachment  - cannot open it, but I do not think so.
Following your suggestion opened backup file with Noki, but most entries are not backed up -  out of 328 identified entires only 30 are appearing in Noki list. Could happen that corrupt entry blocks the proper backup as well.
    Thanks a lot.

  • Syncing iPhone With Outlook Calendar

    Hello all,
I've been using my iPhone 4 (latest firmware - 4.3.3) and syncing contacts, calendars & notes with Outlook 2003 in Windows Vista for some time now & all has worked fine. I also Outlook to access my Hotmail e-mail.
I've recently re-installed with Windows 7 (32bit) and upgraded Office to 2010 as well. I'm again using Outlook to access Hotmail. With the latest version of the Outlook Connector, it now also accesses my Hotmail contacts in Outlook, which it didn't do before & defaults to using my Hotmail calendar rather than the local one in Outlook alone.
After some tidying up, I've sorted all my contacts so that what's on Outlook (and synced to my iPhone) is the same as what's in Hotmail. This seems to be syncing back & forth quite happily between the phone & Outlook via iTunes.
With the calendar, due to Outlook now using the Hotmail calendar, I've had to re-enter all my entries in "Adam's Calendar" (i.e. the Hotmail one) in Outlook, whereas before they were on the local calendar. Having done this, they sync across to Hotmail online and sync onto the iPhone. Entries made via Hotmail online also appear on Outlook and so sync to the phone.
The problem comes the other way. If I make an entry in my calendar on the phone, it won't sync to Outlook. Likewise, if I use the phone to edit an entry that was synced over from Outlook then the changes don't sync back. The only calendar I have displayed on the iPhone from the available list is "Adam's Calendar". I've tried forcing iTunes to only sync that one by de-selecting "All calendars" and only selecting "Adam's calendar" from the available list (consisting of that entry and "Calendar"). So, there should be no reason for "Adam's Calendar" on the phone to be syncing to any other calendar on the computer. Still no joy...
Anybody got any ideas why this isn't working and what might fix it??
    TIA,
    Adam.

Folks, in case it helps anyone else, I've found a solution!
Set up the iPhone to connect to the Exhange server for Hotmail, then sleect which (of e-mail, contacts & calendar) you want to connect to.
Go into Settings-->Mail, Contacts, Calendars-->Add Account...
    Select a MS Exchange account
    Enter your details:
    Email: [email protected]
    Domain: [Leave blank]
    Username: [email protected]
    Password: password
    Click 'Next'
A new field for 'Server' will appear. Enter m.hotmail.com
Continue through and you will be able to set on/off your hotmail e-mail, contacts and/or calendar to connect to the phone. In my case, I just went with the calendar as I use mBoxMail for e-mail so it's all nicely structured in folders and figure it's easier (and won't eat my phone's bandwidth) to just sync my contacts to Outlook through a cable and Outlook then sync to Hotmail over my broadband connection.
Now, any entry made on my phone flies through the airwaves to Hotmail and in turn up the broadband cable to Outlook. Likewise, any entry made in either of the other two makes the same journey.
Hope that helps anyone else in a similar position.
    Adam.

  • I-Phone Sync Error with Outlook

I looked around on the forum but did not find answer to my question. Here's what i have going on. When I am trying to sync my outlook calender with my Iphone using I-tunes, I am getting an error something like Microsoft Sync Client has encountered an error during sync and need to shut down. The error details shows that my .ost file is in use and further digging shows that it is related to MSVCRT.DLL file causing the issue.
    Can someone help with this?

okay so i have tried all the suggestions on the help topic... i think the problem has to do with outlook connector because the two email addresses i use are live mail/msn addresses... any ideas?

  • How to sync Q10 with outlook calendar through the cloud on a remote laptop

Hello all, I took delivery of a new work mobile today (BB Q10). All set up with my work email installed. Told I can set up to have my work calendar on it as well - great. Got home, installed latest version of BB Link on my laptop (C Drive), connected the device via USB and got stuck.
It appears to be only willing to sync with a local (C Drive) version of Outlook which was set up for my personal email account (Gmail) That is not the one I want. I want the work one in the cloud. We log in to the whole MS Office 2007 package via the cloud using a Citrix app.
I know it can be done as a colleague already uses it successfully but he does not work local to me and neither of us are particularly computer savvy.
Can anybody help please. The only bits I want are the actual calendar, no contacts etc.
    Thanks
    Dave

I wish that would work for me. I had used BB devices for years until my work took them away and gave me a Samsung Galaxy 4S. I'd been using that for the last 3-4 months, but I just hated it so I went on eBay and bought myself a new Q10. I used device switch and everything moved over except my weekend work schedules. All my other appointments moved over, so I'm not sure why that didn't. I've tried almost everything. The old BB Desktop software used to work great, but now we have to use BB Link, and there is no option for me to sync my calendar from my home iMac, or my work PC laptop.....very frustrating! I should not have to enter it all again manually. I really like the phone, but I can't figure out why BB Link is so limited. There should be an option built in to sync appointments from a Mac or a PC.

it seems like some permisson issue and some folder/files been deleted already. Please refer to this link below

  • N8 Sync error with Outlook

    Hi - i have just got a new N8.
I have downloaded Ovi etc.  When i set Ovi to sync with my Outlook contacts it crashes, i get a message saying Run time error,  the software was stopped in unusual way.  Then it closes down.  i am running windows 7 and office 2010.
Any ideas how this can be resolved OR how i can upload all my contacts from a CSV file?
    cheers
    James874

Hi hi, I just solved similar issue with new phone ,  I tryed to get my contacts from outlook with Ovi Suit, but 1/3 of the contacts did not come through, and mobile nr became office nr and so on.  Do not recommend this way at all !  It should work direct from outlook.
    -  Application
    -  Mail
    -  Personnel manager (if I remember right)
    -  application
    - Sync contacts
After it works, I can just add contact on my computer and they come on my phone.  So its great when it works.
    Hope this helps.

  • Outlook Sync Error with Recurring Meetings on SharePoint Calendar

We have a SharePoint (Foundation 2010) calendar that users also connect to Outlook (2010/2013). We are experiencing a problem with emailing recurring meeting requests to the SharePoint calendar; the item is received and populated properly on the SP calendar
but Outlook fails to sync the item.
The Outlook client then displays a send/receive error: [ Task 'SharePoint' reported error (0x80004005) : 'Failed to copy one or more items. For details, see the log file.'
] The error in the log file reads: "Error mapping item #140"
This issue only occurs when recurring meeting requests are emailed to the SP calendar list. Recurring meetings sync properly with Outlook when the meeting is created directly on the SP site and when created directly on the calendar view within Outlook.
I will appreciate any insight to this matter.
    Thanks,
    Josh

    Hi,
This issue may occur if Outlook cannot connect to the Sharepoint List so that
Outlook changes cannot sync to the Sharepoint. Please try the following steps and check if it helps:
    1. This error message could be caused that the PC with the Outlook installation couldn´t access the CRL from the HTTPS certificated used on the SharePoint server. To check that open the sharepoint Web site, and check the SSL certificate. There is an entry
for the CRL. Now check from the affected PC if the CRL could be accessed.
    2. Check AAM configuration and we can try to browse the URL
http://intranet ; then we can recreate the connection to Sharepoint in Outlook, try to sync it and then check the result
See this thread with similar problem:

The calendar is the big thing for me.  Any Ideas??
    Thanks

I just wanted to let you know that I'm having the same problem with my 8120 and it started on the 18th.  I spent 3 hours, 39 minutes, and 42 seconds on the phone with BB support yesterday with no luck and we tried every trick they could think of.  I'll certainly let you know if I find any information since I too can't live without my calendar.
