Sync Filemaker Pro with Palm Zire 31
Does anyone know how to sync my new version 10 of Filemaker Pro to my Palm Zire 31? The old versions of Filemaker had a Mobile version but the new versions don't support it. Any & all help is appreciated.

You can sync with multiple computers.
Sync the device to the office computer. Install Palm Desktop on the home PC from the CD that you received with the device. In hotsync manager, select handheld overwrites desktop and sync to the XP PC.
The main thing to be aware of is which location has the "Master" database.
Copy and Paste the following address in a browser for an article regarding sync'ing to 2 different computers.

Hi.
I read the posting regarding the options on Hotsyncing for Windows 7; however, I have some questions as I have a 64-bit system.
I have a Visor Pro that I'm trying to Sync up with my new laptop which is running Windows 7.
Steps I have taken:
* installed the Visor Palm Desktop 3.0.1 that came with the Visor (which the installation went well)
* The issue arises when I push the "Sync" button on the cradle and the following error message appears "The connection between your handheld computer and the destktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again."
Since I have a 64-bit OS it appears that I have 2 options: 1) bluetooth or 2) Infrared.
I have to admit I don't know know how to do either of these (how can I tell if this Handspring Visor Pro has bluetooth (which I don't it does)?).
Then how about the Infrared option? I see on the PDA it has a red area that one can "beam" info. Is this the same as Infrared or my 2nd option?
I love my Visor and want to continue using it, but need to backup the valuable info!
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
THANKS!!!!!
Post relates to: Visor ProHello lwalbring and welcome to the Palm forums.
Your Visor, as you suspect, does not have Bluetooth, so you must use the IR HotSync option. Since you are using Windows 7 64-bit, I believe that you are going to have to upgrade to Palm Desktop 6.2.2 to make things work from an OS/Driver perspective.
Since you are using such an old device, you are also going to have to download and install the PalmHotSyncSetup Utility from Pimlico. This update turns on support for old Palm OS PDAs in Palm Desktop 6.2.2. Without the update, you won't be able to sync your Visor with Palm Desktop 6.2.2. The software is free and the link is all the way at the bottom of the screen.
Lastly, if your PC doesn't have an IR port on it, you will need to purchase a USB to IR adapter. Some laptops still have IR ports and most desktops don't.
Once you have all the pieces, you'll want to go back to the Windows 7 and Vista HotSync thread again, and follow the directions for setting up and configuring IR HotSyncs.

ICal events being deleted when syncing with Palm Zire 21
I have been syncing my Palm Zire 21 with iCal successfully for over a year with few problems. A few weeks ago I noticed that almost, but not all of the events on both the Palm device and iCal more than three months old were gone. Then, a few weeks later, I noticed that the events suddenly were all back in the iCal application, but not on the Palm device.
But this week, I used HotSync (as usual) to sync iCal and the Palm device, and the events were gone again. Now I am wondering what on Earth I am doing to cause this. I have read the articles about setting up to sync. I double-checked to be sure I have been syncing the way that is outlined in the instructions in the help articles.
I must have missed something vital. I have been backing up my iCal to my .Mac account using Backup. I am thinking that I can restore the iCal events using my last backup. Can I? And how do I keep this from happening again?
MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.4.10) "OS10.4.10" "iSync 2.4" "iCal 2.0.5" "Hotsync 3.1"Found the issue for me. The events are not deleted, but filtered in the standard calendar view. The iPhone shows everything as it should. Outlook 2003 has all the events to as seen when going to categories view.
It seems that once events pass on the iPhone and then a sync via iTunes to Outlook 2003 the "All Day Event" field is removed from the calendar entry.
Creating another Day/Week/Month View in outlook 2003 that has a filter to only include calendar entries where the "All Day Event" field "does not exist" will allow viewing the "hidden" past events.
Hopefully this will be fixed VERY SOON. -

I am using Google Calendar to synch my company Outlook to my Palm Pre 2. I note that there are some prior posts on Timezone challenges and have followed the advice provided to no benefit.
All my events are synchronizing - however any recurring events not local to my timezone are not translating to my local timezone. So events scheduled by colleagues on the US West Coast are entered into my calendar at the time set ignoring the offset to my timezone (8 hours given that I'm in UK).
All events are properly reflected in Google Calendar it's the sync to my Pre which seems to corrupt (or more correctly not translate the time). Interestingly single events created by US colleagues are translated correctly.
Any suggestions as to how I can fix this??

Can I use Filemaker pro with Thunderbird to send emails
I use Filemaker Pro 11 for my database which is a list of names and addresses. I currently use Microsoft Outloook to send Emails. I have ten mailboxes on Network Solutions. They let me send 100 emails at a time, for each box for a maximum of 1000 per hour.
No. mail merging is done with an add-on and it does not use filemaker.

Can't sync Yahoo calendar with Palm Pre
I've been having a hell of a time trying to get this palm pre up and running. I've tried all sorts of apps to try and get my Palm desktop data onto my phone, but since I never used the Outlook program none of them worked. I've always just operated on the palm desktop. I found one that worked from companionlink, but for some reason when i started using it my phone would restart itself. My last ditch effort to try and keep this phone (and my sanity) was to manually enter all my information into my web acct with yahoo. I already had the account, and my contacts, email, etc is already there. This should be as easy as adding it as an account on my phone, but for some reason it isn't. I've made it the primary account, added it to the phone, added the password, and still when i sync, nothing shows up on the datebook on my phone. it's blank. HELP!!!!
one more thing.....my yahoo email alerts are coming through fine on the phone....i get them all, so there is a connection there. i just can't get my calendar.

I have a new Macbook Pro that I would like to sync regularly with my iMAC so that all of my files are in both locations. Is there an easy way to do this?
Not with iSync - it's only for syncing contacts and calendars to mobile phones.
Have a look at Dropbox.

In my opinion, it's one of the best things you can install on a computer. -

Addresses and Calender events won't show up on my Palm Zire 22
I just got an iMac with leopard installed. I have all my addresses and calendar events on my mac and I'm trying to sync it to my Palm Zire 22. I've set it up according the the instructions given at isync help.
It appeared that the sync was successful (my palms says HotSnyc operation complete) and iSync also says Synchronization Complete. But none of my addresses and calendar events showed up on my palm. My palm is still empty. What's wrong? Can someone please help?Hi Michael,
Thank you for your reply. My HotSync log actually gave me OK on all the items you mentioned. That's why I thought it was weird that the sync didn't work.
However, I tried it again last night, with only the calendar option checked from the iSync dialog and it WORKED! I went back and unchecked the calendar option and checked my "address/contact" option, and it worked too!! Now I have all my calendar events and addresses on my palm. So I guess the solution is that I have to sync and addresses and calendar separately... Not sure if this issue will be solved, but for the time being, at least that what I can do... -
Unable to sync TX calendar with Outlook 2003 (Windows XP)
Last week I noticed that random past diary entries were gradually disappearing from my TX with each Hotsync without me changing any settings or receiving any error message. They went 1st from Outlook on my PC but remained on my TX and then all non-recurring anniversaries pre-2008 disappeared from my handheld too. Future events were fine though.
We contacted Palm Live Chat twice but got nowhere. They couldn’t retrieve the lost data; tell me why it had happened or what to do to stop it happening again. I was quite upset because I’d lost 5 years’ diary entries and then annoyed when I scrolled through the help forums and saw how many people were experiencing similar problems.
Luckily, I managed to find an old version of my calendar up to last summer in Palm Desktop on our laptop. So we copied it over to the PC via a memory stick, changed the PIM conduit temporarily and synced the TX with Palm Desktop (version 4.2), making sure the HS icon was customised to synchronise the calendar files. But what it did instead was overwrite the calendar on the TX with that from Palm Desktop, effectively wiping all calendar entries from last summer off the handheld – including all my future plans.
In an attempt to get these back, we changed the PIM conduit back to sync with Outlook and tried again. Now everything has come to a total standstill. Luckily, my calendar events from this year and the future are still in Outlook but it won’t now sync with my TX at all. When I try to HS, the TX seems to do a soft set and reboot itself back to the factory date & time setting page.
We have also tried:
· Disabling Windows Automatic Updates before performing a Hotsync
· Running the repair feature in Office 2003
· Running DBFixIt
None of that has thrown up any errors and I have got myself in an increasingly desperate tangle. The latest HS log is below and it looks as if I’ve probably duplicated lots of files I shouldn’t have by desperately swapping between Outlook and Palm desktop (take a deep breath – it’s huge ….) Can anyone please help me? I’m so fed up about this.

Post relates to: Palm TXProblems with a calendar sync in Outlook can generally be traced to a corrupt appointment at some time. It can happen from a shutdown in Outlook or any number of other reasons. If you can remember when the trouble began, see if you can locate an appointment on that day. You can also try and reset the sync history in iTunes, and can also run scanpst.exe and troubleshoot your Outlook file.
I've used every version of Outlook since 2000 and have been able to trace this issue a couple of times to an appointment that has a recurring setting. You can change the view of your appointments and list them. When you do that, you may be able to locate an appointment that doesn't look right. I had to print out all of my appointments once and then reenter them. Luckily I didn't have that many, so it didn't matter. Again, this is usually something corrupt in the Outlook file that will make the problem appear, and since everything else in Outlook is syncing except the calendar, that is the place to look. -
Sync'ing a Palm Zire 72 with Windows 7 (Home Premium 64)
Ok I am probably a dinasour but have relied on my Zire 72 for years for all the contacts and calendar items I don't want to keep on my phone but now cannot get it to sync with Windows 7. I never used Vista, migrated straight from XP to Windows 7 but have read all the threads on Vista and hot sync'ing. I know I apprently can't use the direct USB cables as there are no 64 bit drivers from palm for this so I purchased the recommended USB-1510 IRDa adaptor. Even though Cables Direct does not seem to have Windows 7 drivers, Windows 7 appeared to recognize and accept the Vista 64 drivers and the adaptor seems to be recognized. I am using Hotsync 4.1.0 and Palm Desktop 4.1.4. Have tried everything, soft resets of the Palm, reboots of both the computer and palm, reinstallation of the software, etc and cannot get these to sync. I either get the message that the connection cannot be established or once or twice that the port was being used by another process.
Does anyone have any suggestions before I competely give up. Many thanks!
Post relates to: Zire 72I have hotSync Manager 6.0.1 and while the Zire 72 will NOT sync over the USB cable it will sync over a Bluetooth connection. You need to have a Bluetooth interface either built into the computer or a Bluetooth USB plug in device. Then you have to set up the channel by making both devices visible to other devices once they recognize each other you have to follow the dircetions in Windows 7 for making it a trusted device. After they are trusted devices they will sync over Bluetooth which is slower that using a straigth USB cable but it works.
This is also the way you can sync a Palm LifeDrive and HP Ipaq with SW on Windows 7. Yes I have all three and this was the easiest way so I could make them sync up suing the same interface. The Lifedrive and HP Ipaq can also sync over WIFI but this was easier for me since all the devices use the same interface, i.e. no remembering special setups.
I am running WIn 7 Home Premium and I am using Palm Desktop Application 4.1.4 for all Palm syncs. I have 2 Zire 72 Palms and 1 Life drive. They all come up in that Palm Desktop Application allwoing me to copy things from one to the other. -
I last talked about Palm Desktop compatibility with 64-bit Windows at http://forums.palm.com/palm/board/message?board.id=software&message.id=37767. Fortunately, I haven't replaced my laptop yet, so I am in the enviable(?) position of planning the acquisition of a spanking new machine with 64-bit Windows 7 Pro (sidenote: likely a 14" ASUS). However, my PDA is still Palm Vx, which requires Palm 4.1.4, which requires 32-bits, which is provided in Windows 7 Pro by its Windows XP Mode. Has anyone heard any word of whether XP mode allows seamless sync'ing through the serial or IR ports? Serial is most preferrable, of course, due its speed, lack of headaches with line-of-sight alignment, and the fact that it needs to be docked anyway for recharging.
I'm not sure if it's as dependent on the Palm Desktop version as much as it depends on the Hotsynch Manager, which is 4.1.0. There are probably certain Hotsynch Manager versions that are compatible with Palm Desktop 4.1.4 and Palm Vx.
