Sync for Contacts/Calendar greyed out

Hi, I just installed BB link 1.2.3.56 on my new Windows 8 Laptop. After installing BB Link, I tried to configure sync for calendar/contacts to outlook but am not able to as it is greyed out. Any idea why this happens and would anyone have a solution? I'm on a Q10 and before this sync worked on my windows 7 laptop.

The above was taken from a post from yesterday, the user had a similar issue like yours and was using Win 8.1
After many different tries the user did a Refresh and as you see all is well.
I am not saying this will correct your issue but it is worth a try, just think about it and we can still troubleshoot to try and find a answer but it is pointing to your computer.

  • ITunes 'sync' for iPhone 6 now 'greyed' out?

Yesterday and today the Sync at the lower right corner of the iTunes Mark's iPhone Summary screen is greyed out. I've never run into this before. I've disconnected the phone, rebooted the phone, open and closed iTunes. As a further test I checked iTunes to write over the iphone's Contacts, Appointments and Notes. The lower right changed to Apply/Revert, I clicked Apply, The top sync info screen flashed a couple of times but did not go through the sync process.
    Any suggestions?

Since I couldn't find an edit option to my initial post, here's a few more observations:
The box 'automatically sync with iPhone when connected' is checked.
I rebooted the computer with the two USB port connectors unplugged (iPod and iPhone) then reconnected them after the computer finished loading windows.
I checked 'sync with this iPhone over WiFi' and unplugged the phone. Apply/Revert appeared, I hit Apply. The top sync screen said 'starting to update files, the progress bar appeared for about 1/8" (~10 seconds) then disappeared. I unchecked sync with WiFi.

So I have found a common denominator to this phenomenon. After having the same problem, I started to recopy my playlist of 500+ songs in groups of 10-20, 30+, 75+, and then over a 100+. Any music I have purchased from iTunes won't copy, but everything else did. Unsure if I made a playlist called "Purchased" at some point or this is an iTunes default, I also noticed it had some of the songs contained in my other playlist and was showing on my iPhone. Regardless of what I did such as dragging music from that playlist to the other and clearing songs from that playlist, I removed it altogether from the iPhone itself vs. doing through iTunes. After that, music copied fine to my playlist.
So, my theory is that iTunes is getting tripped up on purchased tracks already showing on the phone and all songs are showing grayed out/dotted circle because iTunes can't resolve the conflict with purchased tracks.
Hope this makes sense and is helpful.

if my external hard drive is not connected to either of my machines, and I download something onto my iMac and then something different onto my Macbook, where are my machines going to be storing the new downloaded media
when the drive is not connected, +iTunes media folder location+ will default back to <MacintoshHD>/users/<yourname>/music/iTunes/iTunes music (or media)
and when I next connect the external hard drive how will I easily get the newly downloaded media onto the external HD
you'd have to point +iTunes media folder location+ back to the external via preferences > advanced > iTunes media folder location, then file > library, organize library > consolidate files
and essentially, to have it easily readable on both machines?
in that case it might be best to copy the entire iTunes folder to the external. then, on each machine, launch iTunes while pressing option on your keyboard. when prompted, click on +choose library+ and navigate to the iTunes folder on the external.
note only one iTunes can access the iTunes library @ a time !
also, make sure the external is mounted on either machine before launching iTunes.

  • Save for Web & Devices Box Greyed Out

    Hey everyone,
I'm trying to save a Photoshop CS4 file for Web & Devices so I can have Photoshop compile the slices and the CSS so I can hand-design rollovers. Unfortunately, all of a sudden the dialogue box for Save For Web & Devices is greyed out... I've check online, changed color profiles, deleted save for web and devices library files, updated Photoshop, nothing. I've even checked past .psds I've designed that I've saved for Web & Devices and haven't changed since--even the Web & Devices box is greyed out for them. Help! What do I do? I need to do this before Friday. Thank you!

    Hi
I'm also having the same problem with the Save for Web & Devices Box Greyed Out.
I think it's the plugin that's corrupt,  as I've tried deleting preferences and seetings. I can't find the photoshop cd to  reinstall it.
Has anyone got the MAC CS4 Photoshop "save for web  plugin" (Users/[Username]/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Plugins/Adobe Save for Web CS4/Photoshop/Adobe Save for Web CS4 Prefs) that they could send me.
    Thanks very much

  • ITunes 11.1.4 (62) can't find the info button to set up sync for contacts, calendars, etc.

I'm running iTunes 11.1.4 (62) and can't find the info button to set up sync for contacts, calendars, etc.

That option has been removed with Mavericks. Syncing for calendars and contacts etc can only be done through iCloud:

  • I cannot select sync for contacts. I had a previous issue which suggested I reset sync history now I can't select an email account or where to sync contacts.

I cannot select sync for contacts. I had a previous issue which suggested I reset sync history and now I can't select an email account or where to sync contacts. I check the checkbox but no email accounts are present to select.  My iPhone4 has all the contacts & mail account and runs ok.
Part of the solution to the previous problem was to delete (really I moved it) the contents of the backup folder.  Now I get this message "iTunes was unable to load data class infromation from Sync Services".  I moved the folders and files back and it did not help.

An alternate email isn't a rescue email, and it isn't possible to add an actual rescue email without correctly answering two of the questions. If you're desperate enough, create a new Apple ID; you won't be able to transfer previous purchases or iTunes Store credit to it.

  • Calendar and contact options are greyed out

    Hi all,
I wand to sync my contacts and calendar between my iPad1 and my Windows Laptop.
After installing the icloud sync software, I was only able to check "favourites and photostream" to be synced. The fields mail, calendar and contacts are greyed out and not available to select.
I have browsed through the Internet, de-installed that software piece and installed it again, not change.
Passwaords have been corrected according to the iTune needs (8characters, and so on).
I do not know what to do, any ideas?
    Thanks

When you say you are trying to get a file from your local c:drive, dio you mean that you are trying to import a file into your site from elsewhere on your computer, rather than 'getting' it from your remote server.  If you are trying to import a file from your local c:drive don't use the 'get' or 'put' buttons because they are just for remote connections, instead just use windows explorer to locate the file then either copy or cut and paste the file into the folder for your site.

  • "Automatically sync ..." is greyed out - no Syncing under Preferences

I see someone else had this problem, but the solution confused me.
In iTunes Summary my iPhone, the "Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected" is unchecked and greyed out. Another poster suggested going to Preferences > Syncing, and that seemed to fix the problem for him, but.... there is no "syncing" under my preferences.
I want iTunes to launch when I connect the iPhone (it currently does) and automatically sync (which it does not).
    iTunes 8, iPhone 2.1, OSX 10.5.5.
    Any ideas?

I understand what it does, but I don't see the point. For starters, most users will never look past the Summary page. The only person I could see it being useful for would be users who a) own many devices b) never want to sync a single one.
If I own few devices, I could easily check them off manually (you only do it once after all), and if I own a lot of devices, it seems more likely that I'd want to auto sync at least ONE of them.
Anyway, mystery solved. Just seems like an option that shouldn't be there in the first place.

  • IPhone V will not sync.  The sync button in itunes is greyed out.

Have synced many time without problems but now the iPhone shows up in Devices, but the sync button is greyed out.  If I make a change to any of the parameters for syncing the "Apply" button shows up normally and I can click "Apply" but then the synch button immediately appears butis greyed out.

    Hi Fbrown,
Do you have a firewall turned on? If so, try turning it off to see if it resolves your issue.

  • Mauualy sync ipod but all contents greyed out. Help!!

I have added items manually (box ticked for that and no auto syncing) but now my ipod touch is full. yet when I click on my ipod in the menu on the left, all the contents are greyed out so I cannot edit anything. I can however edit everything in my itunes library. why is this. I have downloaded music recently but cannot add it as ipod is full. Would appreciate help but not very technical so please please explain in a way I can hopefully understand!!

    Hey Lorras,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you aren’t able to backup your iPhone 5c because it isn’t showing up as a device in iTunes. The suggestions in the article below will most likely resolve the issue, use the first article if you have a PC and the second if you have a Mac.

  • Turn off wireless Syncing for Contacts

Blackberry Desktop software will not sync, (via Outlook 2010) claiming that the wireless tab is activated for the Contacts on my blackberry 9700. This has been turned off, phone restarted via a cold restart, yet I still cannot sync the contacts. All other syncs, calendar, Memo, Tasks sync fine.

I have a 9800 and I was trying to sync my contacts and I had the exact same problem. It was really frustrating but I finally figured it out. I don't know all the details.. I just know how it worked for me. From the homescreen click contacts. Once contacts is open, hit the menu button and click options. Contacts Options will pop up and for me there were 3 options at the top ( Contact Display and Actions, Recent Activites, and AT&T Address Book) then a gray divider line that says "Contact Lists". Under that divider line was my personal email address. I clicked my personal email address and a second window pops up that has THE CHECKBOX.. the one the instructions refer to (THE needle in the haystack). I unchecked that box and magically in desktop manager, after hitting the "configure settings button" it worked. Hope this helps! believe me i know how frustrating it is. The instructions in desktop manager should be more precise!

  • I have 2 e-mail acts.1 gmail,1 aol ,when I did the sync for contacts it took the gmail contacts and added them to both accts. Is there a way to sink from aol

hi, this thread already deals with the issue:

  • Why is my Transcode Setting for MPEG1 ok box greyed out?

For the longest time I could Export>Adobe Media Encoder which takes me into Transcode Settings and I could select MPEG1 and hit OK at the bottom of the page. Now, for no particular reason, the OK box is greyed out.
Any thoughts as to what caused this or what I can do to get my OK box un-greyed?
I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!
    Shawn

No, the only thing I did was to open a project, save as and then replace one piece of music with another on the timeline. I can choose Windows Media, Quicktime or RealPlayer but any of the MPEG options has the OK button greyed out. And it's like that on all my current projects now.
I did remove my external harddrive for a few hours to upload some other stuff from another computer, but that shouldn't make a difference since Premiere is on my main harddrive in my desktop. I would think anyway.
Is there a way to check my Adobe Media Encoder or reinstall it without messing up any projects I currently am working on?
    Thanks!

  • All folders in import menus for After effects are greyed out since upgrade to Mavericks

Since upgrading to Mavericks yesterday - all folders in the import menus (and save menus) are greyed out. I cannot access sub folders or even import a .mov directly from the desktop. All files and folders are greyed out.
I can use the "Open with" command on indivdual files which seems to work, but it's very inconvenient when working with multiple files.
    Any ideas?
I have patched After effects with the 12.01 bug fix already...

Solutions on this page helped me! Bloody view options..... why do this for an OS release...https://discussions.apple.com/message/23567197?tstart=0#23567197?tstart=0
