Sync from LR to Ipad

Hi,
I have been syncing my Aperture photos to my Ipad 1 via iTunes and now want to do so from LR.
When I connect the ipad up, it gives me just an option for a Folder and have been able to sync one folder but that is all. I cannot sync from more than one folder at a time and am not given any option for sync from a Collection, which is of course my best of.
How can I sync from more than one folder at a time or from a Collection?
I operate a hard wired system for my ipad (as fro my laptop) so as far as I can see the sync from iTunes is the only option!!!!???

Thanks for the answer.
I have two sync buttons at the bottom of my screen, sync metadata and sync settings.
Which of these do I use and presume I get some form of dialogue box that comes us re sync to my ipad?
So I create a Collection with sub folders for my photos that I want on my ipad, which would be like a very best of?

Why is contact sync from iphone or ipad to local iMac address book gone?

An option for syncing contacts from iphone or ipad to iMac seems to be gone. From searching other posts on this topic, I see where contact sync is now "through iCloud" but is this the EXCLUSIVE choice for syncing contacts? In other words, there is no longer any sync of contacts NOT through iCloud; I cannot sync contacts from my iPhone to my iMac without it all being stored in the cloud.
This is absurd. My iCloud was hacked (not a password issue on my iMac or any local trojan/etc there are support threads about this) and tons of spam sent to my contacts when I used to sync through the cloud. I turned off iCloud sync for contacts and opted instead to sync from phone to mac and from iPad to mac and this was working just fine, keeping me nice and updated every day no matter where I modified any contacts.
Now it seems that is no longer possible. Is this by design? Why on earth was this removed? Is it a "feature" of these new products to remove working sync methods and force everything through the cloud??

The ability to sync contacts, calendar and browser bookmarks directly from a Mac running Mavericks to an IOS device via USB or WiFi has indeed been removed. Synching through iCloud, Exchange, WebDAV or a similar cloud service is the only option now. You can comment to Apple in this issue via their feedback page, if you wish:

Syncing from iTunes to iPad deletes content from iTunes

I recently bought three TV series to watch while going away for a few days. They downloaded fine to my iTunes Library and I synced them to my iPad. I watched them on my iPad through ATV2 and today I went back to the iTunes library only to find that none of the episodes in those tv series are physically in my library any more. Itunes thinks they are there but the files are actually missing. I still have them on my iPad.
Any ideas? I am going to be very annoyed if Apple claim I have to buy them again.

I managed to recover the files from the iPad by getting a piece of software to copy them from the iPad but this is far from ideal - is this going to happen again? Do I have to backup everytime I make a purchase just to be sure iTunes isn't going to decide to delete it?

Some photos not syncing from Mac to ipad

I am using iPhoto 11 9.2.1 and iTunes 10.5 and have iPad 2 on iOS 5.1
In iTunes I have selected, sync photos from iPhoto, selected Albums, Events....Events from the last 12 months, Include videos.
Under Albums I have 1 Album checked, Events is Grayed out and only the last 12 months of events are checked. The total picture count is 1276, only about 400 photos are syncing. I upgraded to iOS 5.01 today before doing this sync. Unfortunatly I had not tried to sync these photos prior to the upgrade so not sure if that is a factor.

I had the same issue this morning after the iOS 5.01 upgrade. There was an option to sync photos from a "pictures folder". This worked but the "pictures" folder doesn't have all the organized albums and folders that are in iPhoto. So, working to find a fix for organizing the "pictures" folder since the new iOS doesn't sync from iphoto. Any help on this would be great. I think when I upgraded iPhoto today, the pictures folder may have been created.

My calendar events transfer during sync from iPhone to iPad but not vice versa.

When I try to sync my calendars all of the entries on my iPhone appear (even the duplicates) on my iPad but my entries on the iPad do not transfer to my iPhone. I have tried switching the order they sync in (iPhone after iPad or iPad and then iPhone) but no changes. I have the "All Calendars" box checked on my iTunes. Any suggestions?

I assume you are syncing cal's through iTunes. While I am not sure how to solve your problem, I'd recommend using Google Exchange to sync your contacts. It works in real time and uses your gmail credentials to do so.

How do I disconnect sync from ipod to ipad

I have an ipad that is primary device, and have an ipod that just purchased & set up icloud and syncd with w/ my ipad. I want to disconnect my ipod from the information being sent to my ipad accounts. How?? thanks!

To configure on each device, go into Settings > iCloud and decide what actions you want the cloud to not sync to your devices.

Does iMovie sync from laptop to iPad?

Can I sync iMovie from my MacBook Air to the new iPad I just purchased. I can buy an iMovie App for the iPad but I only want to do this if it will sync with my existing movies. Thanks.

You will have to buy the app for the iPad. You can transfer iMovie Files back and forth from the iPad to the Mac and from the Mac to the iPad by using file sharing.

There is no photos tab to sync from PC to ipad

I can't find a photos tab on iTunes. I've done it before, I just want to transfer some photos from my PC to my iPad. Where is the tab or how can I get it back?

The Photos tab is only visible when you have a device connected to iTunes. There is no Photos tab "in iTunes".
The tab (that does appear) is used to specify which folder (on the computer) you wish iTunes to use to copy photos from. So, drop the photos into that folder and at the next Sync iTunes will put a copy on the iPad.
There should be no need for you to touch the Photos tab since the folder has already been specified by you, unless you wish to change the folder. That will of course remove the photos (from the iPad) that are in the old folder.

Can't get iMovie project to sync from Mac to iPad.

Followed all the steps and updated all software. Synced the project from iTunes to my iPad but the import button on the iMovie app can't find any projects. Any ideas how to get this working?

Is your other son's iPad signed into the same Apple ID that you are using in iTunes on the computer? Are there any restrictions enabled on his iPad preventing apps from installing?
Are the games selected to sync in iTunes?
Connect the iPad to the computer and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Apps Tab on the right.
Click on the two games that you want to sync.
Click on the Sync Apps Heading.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes

Yahoo Sent mail doesn't sync from Mac to iPad & iPhone

Hi just noticed that when I send mail from my Mac Mini (running Yosemite) these appear in the mac's sent mailbox bit don't appear in Yahoo's sent mail folder and therefore don't appear on my iPhone & iPad sent mail.
It also looks as if other mailboxes on my Mac Mini are not syncing correctly: i.e. I moved mail from my inbox to a yahoo folder on my iPhone but it doesn't appear in that folder on my Mac Mini.
I used the standard settings when setting up the Yahoo account on my Mac. and haven't changed them.
Any guidance to ensure these sync properly ?

A Cox email account is a POP account. What you are wanting is not supported with a POP account. Although it is possible to access a POP account with more than one email client, a POP account is designed to be accessed with a single email client only.
This is supported with an IMAP account. All server stored mailboxes with an IMAP account are available automatically with each email client used to access the account along with all server stored mailboxes kept synchronized with the server with each email client used to access the account.
A MobileMe account is accessed as an IMAP account. You can store sent messages on the server with an IMAP account. Not so with a POP account.

Games restarting after sync from iPhone to iPad

I just got the iPad 2 and synced my apps from my iPhone 3GS. All of the games I transferred restarted on my iPad. How do I get it so the games are the same on both devices?

hi randers4 .... this might be the solution. Question, what do you mean by "if you have any contacts or calendar events on your iPhone or iPad that are not on icloud.com, add them there." Where is "there" and how do I get to "there".
Now,... I do have contacts and calendar that are on the iPhone but was not signed on to the cloud. Do have an ID and PW. So I logged onto the cloud .....that turn on the cloud on the iPhone and did a backup. Is that what you mean when you say add "them there" on the iphone?

Apps don't sync from iPhone to iPad

Just got an iPad and although my apps from iTunes/iPhone have transferred to my iPad, the information didn't transfer....it's like it's two separate accounts...is there a way to sync them up so the information within the apps transfers back and forth and stays up to date? I have tried to figure this out, but am having no luck. Thanks in advance.

Syncing an existing app on iTunes to a different device is like adding it new to that device.
You must enter-configure your specific info.

Syncing from IMac to IPad

Hello. In the past I have successfully added CDs to Ithes, made a library, put related libraries in a folder....say classical music...and low and behold, when my generation 1 Ipad was plugged into an outlet and connected to the same Wifi signal, just about all was on my IPad.
This did not happen yesterday. I uploaded 4 CDs from English textbooks I use, but aft the first long sync process, only one of the CDs was there. Subsequent SYNC NOW command on my IPad went through a quick 1234 process, but nothing changed.
In the past I was subscribed to ICloud but that ran out when the free one yer expired...as a continuing me.com user. But I never even came close to using my alloted amount, so guess that is not the reason. Have never used Match. So what may the reasons be?
As an aside, I also activated Radio in ITunes and it now looks very similar to what was there before, just more radio stations. I had thought you would be given the opportunity to select and listen to artists rather than just more of the same stations as we have always has on the Mac platform. I have not upgraded to Maverick, or was it Wyatt Earp, because I am happy to be at the highest level of the big cat systems. Am ai missing something in my understanding of his the "new" radio differs from what has long existed, save in an increased number of stations?

Some photos will not sync from iPhoto to iPad

I could REALLY use some help. For starters, here is what I am working with:
iPad3, 64 Gigs, 32 gigs free, up to date iOS
Mac Pro with OSX 10.8.3 and iPhoto 9.4.2
The main problem is that some photos can not be synced to my iPad. I have done this for years using iTunes. When I am in iTunes, I can see the albums where the photos are supposed to be. But often, the number of photos in the folder is listed as zero. Other times, the number is less than the number that is actually in the folder on my Mac. Syncing or Applying does not find and move the seemingly invisible pictures.The photos on my Mac are in JPEG format, and can be seen and emailed and edited, etc. on my Mac. I just cant get my iPad to see them and sync them. To say the least, this is problematic, I use my iPad show my craftwork photos to clients, and I can't get some newer photos put on the beautiful handheld iPad.More (potential) pieces of the puzzle:
the issues seem more frequent with new photos. Old albums seem stable and transferable
I have done some things like clearing ALL photos off my iPad, restarting it, then moving the albums back on to the iPad using iTunes. Didn't help
iPhoto on my Mac does sometimes exhibit some crankiness. It tends to crash if I choose Info on any photo. Sometimes it loses photos I have imported. Sometimes it duplicates some photos in a folder.
I have tried restarting my Mac, have done disk diagnostics, have zapped PRAM, repaired permissions.... all sorts of things like that
A few weeks ago, I backed up my iPhoto library to another drive, then run a couple of the options in the Rebuild iPhoto Library menu. None of that helped.
I think there may have been a few other anomolies in the last few months, but the ones above are the things I can remember
Any help would be super kind of you. I am a Mac user since the very original 128k 1984 Mac. And I have figured out a lot of minor problems in all those years. This one seems so mysterious and intractable. And is really putting a kink in my use of the iPad.

didn't try the reboot but when I took my first picture wit the iphone camera then all photos showed up in 'photos' album along with 'camera roll'

Photos synced from PC to iPad are not in the correct orientation or the correct order.

Photos shot in portrait orientation are rotated on PC, but when synced return to original. Also, photos do not appear in the correct order.

They will be in date modified order, with the Photos app you can't change the field that they are sorted by - you will need to adjust their date modified fields on your computer to be in the same order as date taken.
Try deleting the photo cache from your computer and re-try syncing them and see if they are correctly oriented : iTunes: Understanding the iPod Photo Cache folder
