Sync halts after certain number

My 160G ipod today would sync fine, but after a certain number of entries, would stop. The screen on iPod changes from circling sync to steady 'Connected: Eject before disconnecting'. Does not go anywhere. I have already tried the following:
1) the 5 Rs
2) Changing cables
3) Repeat the 5 Rs several times. In fact it freezes iTunes when I do a restore
4) After one of the restores, I set it to manual sync, and selected a few tracks to sync. It would do the same.

I have a classic 160
It will not load more than 4.9 gig keeps telling me it is full.
I had Apple replace and I just received it an it will only load 1.9 gig with the same error. I've tried on several different computers with the same results. I'm running out of thing to try. The thing is when I first got it back in March it worked great. Then ITunes asked to update and I allowed it to do so and it has not worked since. I've tried re installing ITunes changing the library changing the drive letter and nothing seems to work. I'm at a loss I think I may have another unit with a bad drive. I want my IPod back and working
Ant help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

WebUtil uploads the files as Binary - so yes you could have some issues if you have a Unix host - however, that would only mean that there is an extra character to trim off of the end of the line read by Text_io.

How to get String after Certain Number of particular characters

I want to get character after certain numbers's of particular character.
For example following is String
String testString = "||A|||B||D|R|T|||TEST|||||"
I want to get "TEST" which is after 12 "|"
How can I manupulate String to give me characters after 12 "|"
I will appreciate any help.

Loop over the string, looking at each char with charAt(itn index).
Compare each char to '|'.
If it matches, increment the counter.
If the counter is 12, then take the substring from your current position in the string to the end.

Essentially, the bare issue is that you have a 500GB hard drive with only 10GB free. That is not sufficient to run the system properly. The two options you have are to move/remove files to another location, or to install a larger hard drive (eg 2TB). Drive space has nothing to do with SMC firmware, and usually large media files are to blame.
My first recommendation is this: download and run the free OmniDiskSweeper. This will identify the exact size of all your folders - you can drill down into the subfolders and figure out where your largest culprits are. For example, you might find that your Pictures folder contains both an iPhoto Library and copies that you've brought in from a camera but are outside the iPhoto Library structure. Or perhaps you have a lot of purchased video content in iTunes.
If you find files that you KNOW you do not need, you can delete them. Don't delete them just because you have a backup, since if the backup fails, you will lose all your copies.
Don't worry about "cleaners" for now - they don't save much space and can actually cause problems. Deal with the large file situation first and see how you get on.
Let us know what you find out, and if you manage to get your space back.

VST edit screen not visible after a certain number in a session

Hi folks, I have a small strange problem. After I add a certain number of VSTs to a project, I can't see the GUI of the VST anymore. It's there, and working, but I can't edit any parameters because I can't see them anymore. Anyone with this problem and why it happens?
It seems to be worst with new Waves plugins (I have Gold bundle) but it's general with any VST. Strangely, it doesn't happen with DirectX plugins at all.
Lenovo laptop, i5, using firepod.

The main screen is scrollable. The sub screen does not need to be. The box frame has been expanded to allow space for the new objects and the entire new space is visable. Only the objects located in the lower portion of the box are not visible.

Rounding After a Certain Number of Characters

Hi,
I'm looking for a way to round a number off after a certain number of characters. I'm not looking to round a number off after, say, the third or fourth decimal place, but after the third or fourth number. For example, If I round off after 3 characters, then:
19235.6578 goes to 19200
1.95723 goes to 1.96
How would I go about doing this? Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks for your reply. What I'm really trying to do is round off an answer to the correct number of significant figures. According to the rules for multiplying significant figures, the answer will have the same number of sig figs as the number in the operation with the least number of sig figs. To do this, what I thought I would do is find the length() of the least precise number in the operation and then round off the answer after that many characters. So, if the least precise number has four sig figs, the answer will get rounded off after the fourth number. Hope this makes what I want to do a little clearer; sorry for being vague.

When you restore from an itunes backup it doesnt backup music or ring tones. resync from the computer that has the music. If you bought all the songs from iTunes, you can always redownload them but ringtones are a one-time download. Follow the article to redownload them. For the ringtones you can contact Apple to ask for a redownload of them

Problem with Outlook Sync/Calendar after upgrade to 10.2

I have come up with a number of issues which may all be related.
The core seems to be around the way that my Calendar and contacts are now configured.
Firstly - I use BBLink to Sync. After the upgrade my 1.1.1 version of BBlink wouldn't sync to Outlook. Its there in BBlink, but greyed out. I updated the BBLink to the latest version. Same problem; there but greyed out.
Next issue is that I created a new calendar event on the Z10. This all went well until I went to add a person - it asks me to associate an email account to send the notification. If I do this it gives me Local Calendar and which I set to one of my email accounts. Then It displays the name of the computer I sync with.no matter what I do (none, or an email address) it wont accept either giving me an are you sure message and reassigning if I use the same email address OR if I select none it just doesn't do anything and whe I go to save it goes through the same process again.
If I look under setting>accounts I see BBLink is the source of my Calendar and Events (correct).

FMS2 core dies after a number of connections

Howdy folks
My company developed a flash video chat (adult related)
application. We have intensively tested the application without
problems on the developer edition of FMS and afterwards we decided
to buy a license. We have configured the license on the
1000/40/unlimited and fired the site up. But here's the problem.
After a certain number of connections (we counted at about 40
simultaneous streaming sessions plus let's say an average of 2
guests per each stream) the core goes off and dies, therefore not
loading the video anymore. Each time this happends we need to
restart the FMS and it's working fine for another period of time.
The system FMS2 is running on is a Dual Intel Xeon 3.2 Ghz with 4
GB of RAM. The processors are running at about 30 - 40% of their
capacity right before the core goes down.
Anyone else had any similar experience and if yes what was
the solution? Any help is greatly apreciated. Looking forward to
hear from the community.

Thanks for the feedback. I've been adviced by so many persons
in so many ways but based on flv streaming scenarios. I do not do
that. I am in to a many-to-many scenario where the application
instances (sources of stream) come and goes dinamicaly. I get their
webcams and stream them to any potential viewers.
In the flv streaming case the fix for this issue is simple. I
set the <Scope> to inst and define RollOver and MaxCores
values and i have no stress since the cores will be replacing each
other at the defined period of time.
But in my case (many-to-many) i cant run the fms with the
Scope inst but only as app.
Anyway .. i do hope(think) that separing FMS will solve this
issue.

Problem syncing ipod after laptop change

I have recently changed laptops and after a number of problems I seem to have got my ITunes library (stored on a portable hard drive) linked to the new laptop. However, when I try to sync to the IPod, all seems well but any albums called "Greatest Hits" all seem to be treated as one album. I can see all the separate albums on the IPod, all with their own artwork but the track list for each is the same and contains around 300 tracks as an amalgamation of all the "greatest hits" albums. I've tried restoring and re-syncing but the same thing happens. I see the same thing on the laptop but can "fix" it by using a sort by Album/Artist but I don't recall having this issue in the past and it's not really ideal.
Any ideas to put this right would be greatfully received.

Users can't log in to server after X number of computers connect

I'm running a Leopard server with unlimited number of connections in a high school setting. It is set for an Open Directory master. After "X" number of students login, the students get a server error and no additional students can't login to their accounts. I logged into one of the student machines as admin and tried to connect to the server using the "Go-->Connect to Server" with their user ID and password. Here is the message that was returned:"This fileserver will not allow any additional users to log on. Please try to connect again later." Any ideas out there? Thanks for the look.

The next step is to open Console (or Terminal, or access the logs via ServerAdmin if you prefer) and look at the logs. I've never seen a similar issue, so I can't even begin to guess what's happening. AFP logs would be a good place to start, but poke around whatever other logs that may be relevant and see if there are any clues. I have seen Servers have issues with all connections, but never more than a certain number, and 8 makes no sense.
Can you elaborate any more on what your network looks like and how exactly your server is setup, and how you set it up?

Voice memos, once correctly synced, will appear under your Music Library. Can you go through your music library to check?

If you had a Vector Signal Generator, this would be more controllable using something similar to this forum.
Otherwise, the only way to control time on the 565x would be to use OOK modulation scheme. This will allow you to turn on the signal for a little time On and Off.
There is a shipped example called "565x Digital Modulation.vi" (on versions 1.3 and later of the RFSG driver) that can perform this task. Basically it uses the function named "niRFSG Configure Digital Modulation User Defined Waveform.vi" to write the user bit sequence and with property nodes you will configure the OOK scheme and the symbol rate (refer to specifications of your card for the possible values).

Itunes doesn't sync music after 3.1.2 upgrade

i have a strange issue. after upgrading my iphone 2g to 3.1.2 iTunes doens't sync all music, even i tried to mark perticuler play list but it doent seems to sync any music or video, once i click on sync button after few secs it says sync completed and nothing is transfered to my iphone!!
also all apps are working fine and everything is restored from previous backup except the music and video only !!!

I got the solution, it was not problem with iphone but with itunes library... some virus crapped the itunes library on my physical drive ... cleaned the virus re organized library and it works fine....
