Sync i pod Classic to new PC

I have an i-pod Classic which is synced to a PC which is now no longer working. I now want to sync to my new PC (Dell Inspiron 15r ) without losing music already on i-pod , there are tracks and pictures on the i-pod which are not on the new PC, how can I do this ??

Use your backup copy of your old computer to put everything on the new one.
This is one of the many reasons that always maintaining a backup of your computers info/files/docs/pics/music/etc has always been basic.
If for some reason you have failed to do so, then you can transfer itunes purchases from your ipod:

  • Cannot sync I Pod Classic with Contacts

I cannot sync my Contacts in Agenda with my I Pod Classic. Could anybody help me? Thanks

Okay, first off, make sure you have the new iTunes.  The only songs that will transfer will be the songs that you bought from iTunes.  Then connect the iPod to the new computer, then a message will pop up, asking to earase data from iPod and transfer all purchased music to the new iTunes library, this should transfer the music and sync the music, when the iPod is connected, go to the iPod icon on the left side of iTunes.  Then hit sync at the bottom right corner.  A message will pop up asking you to make sure you want to switch libraries becasuse the iPod can only be connected to one library, hit accept, and all should be good!

  • Can i sync a previously synced i-pod to a new PC without losing all files?

here is my problem. i had all of my tunes on an external hard drive. the hard drive has become corrupt and now the files are no longer accessible. also my PC hard drive has been reformatted. now i have replaced the external hard drive and have loaded i-tunes onto the reformatted PC. i want to add the songs from my i-pod to the new i-tunes but when i try to sync it will not allow me to do it as the i-pod has previously been synced to a different PC (which is no longer available). is there a way to get the songs from my I-pod to my new PC or will i need to import all the songs again from the CD's? Help............

TOUCH COPY IS A THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE. THE ABOVE SITE WILL ALOW YOU TO DOWN LOAD THE PROGRAM AND COPY UP TO 40 SONGS, BUT IF YOU HAVE A LOADED I-POD YOU WILL NEED TO PURCHASE THE PROGRAM FOR $25. SMALL PRICE TO PAY RATHER THAN IMPORT 2500 SONGS FROM CD's. THANKS FOR THE INFO

  • Sync older iPod classic to new mac

    Hi folks
I have just bought my first mac computer and my ipod classic will not sync. It is connecting and listed in devices but the content is greyed out. It will not sync to pick up new purchases.
Is this due to it only being used on a windows pc before?
How due I preserve my music and get the sync working?
    Regards
    John

    Ralph
The third article seems to answer my problem. The ipod can only be used with a windows computer unless I restore it on the mac computer.
I still have a laptop on windows so will use it there.
All I have to do now is get rid of the hundreds of duplicates in itunes!!
    Many thnks

  • Can`t sync i-pod Touch to new computer.

Hiya folks, can`t get my new Windows 8 laptop to see and transfer the music and app`s on my 2nd gen Touch. The computer can see a device is connected but
thinks it`s a camera and only the pictures show up. I`ve got the latest i-tunes installed and tried my best with the troubleshooting instructions but to no avail. Any idea`s?. Cheers, Pete.

iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    - I would start with
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
    - New cable and different USB port
    - Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

  • My i-Pod classic is no longer listed as a device & cannot sync.

I have an i-Pod classic (click-wheel) that works just fine.  I recently transferred my i-Tunes to a new Windows computer, successfully.  I just tried to sync my i-Pod and found that my i-Pod is not listed as one of my authorized devices - therefore it won't sync.  I removed the former computer from the list, but not my i-Pod.  How can I get my i-Pod back on that list of devices - there is no "add a device" icon...  When I called support, they just tried to charge me more money to investigate the problem.  How hard is it to simply put my device (that I already paid money for...) back on my list, as it was in August before I got the new computer?  I am starting to feel like they are forcing me to purchase a new i-Pod.... not cool for the customer.
