Sync. iCloud on all devices

I have three devices, all apple and the calendars are not syncronizing. What do I do?

You need to log into iCloud on each device.

  • Do I have to run os x lion to sync icloud to all devices

I have upgraded to iCloud but it is not syncing automatically to my MAC.  Do I have to have os x lion to do this? I can't seem to get os x lion to download. It just sits there.

You will need Lion on your Mac (specifically version 10.7.2 or greater) before you can install ICloud on it. Lion does download and install, millions of people all ready have done so, be patient (it can take hours) or go to an Apple store and let them do it for you.

  • Totally at a loss with Duplicates/Triplicates in iCloud on all devices

OK - first, I am not an Apple novice and know my equipment backwards and forwards....but this one has me totally stumped and wondering if anyone has any ideas...
Second -- I have never used MobileMe, so this is not a migration problem....
Third - sync in iTunes is unchecked so I won't get duplicates
So, setting up iCloud -- iPad, iPhone and on my Macbook Pro -- following the instructions exactly one step at a time as given in APple's own instructions...
Sync 1 with iPhone creates duplicates in iCal, Reminders, Address Book on both Mac and iPhone
Sync 2 with iPad creates duplicates in iCal, Reminders, Address Book on Mac, Iphone, and iPad -
Results in duplicates and triplicates in all of them
The only thing not effected is Notes -- which don't seem to sync at all now with iCloud...
Now, to trouble shoot - I've gone through all the steps suggested by others here, and all it does is recreate the problem when iCloud sync is initiated again...
I have even gone to icloud.com and deleted everything there to assure that isn't corrupted.
I closed iCloud on all devices and selected "delete" from the sync options.
I deleted all calendars, reminders, notes, Address books from all the devices.
I restored the calendars, reminders, notes, Address books from TIme machine from earlier in the week - about as accurate as I can get right now with all the messed up iCloud syncs...
Re-establish sync with iCloud and EVERY SINGLE problem with duplicates and triplicates is back...
    What the --
Anyone have any ideas at all?  I'm going to go talk to the Genius Bar on Saturday (no appointments tomorrow on iPhone launch day), but I'm not hopeful they know more than I do about these things -- so I am turning to the experts here...
AFter spending about 14 hours syncing resyncing restoring resyncing etc. I am not back to a clean tethered-through-iTunes sync, and have found iCloud to be 100% worthless....

Thanks MaxGuru, but that absolutely did NOT do it. That was one of the first things I tried.
OK -- so, I have returend from a TWO HOUR Genius Bar appointment and here is what we figured out: there was NOTHING that could be fixed to prevent the duplicates, not matter which solutions we tired (all those mentioned in the forum, and elsewhere).
What did we do?....First, I have always backed everything up, so I had backups to play with. Make sure you back up everything before you try anything else I mention here (i.e. do an export for iCal, Address Book etc. -- I worked from fresh copies from my Time machine backup from Monday before all this mess started to assure it was as clean as possible.)  I put those on my desktop for the time being so we can access them quickly and easily.
Step 1: delete all calendars, address book, reminders, notes from desktop, iPhone, iPad, and iCloud.com (yes, delete it all).
Step 2: put a clean copy of all that data back on your Mac (or PC) from your backup.
Step 3: In iCloud, turn off all calendars that they create that you are not using (work, home, calendar for example are calendars iCloud creates that I have never used since I have created my own and named them MyLastName, Holidays, etc).
Step 3: Turn iCloud off everywhere: on your iPHone, on your Mac, and on your iPad. Make sure you turn off every single feature, not just calendar. Totally turn everything off. LOG OUT OF ICLOUD.COM, DELETE iCloud account on your iPad, DELETE Icloud account on your iPhone.
Step 4: Restore your calendar, notes, address book on your Mac from backup (do not restore reminders - those are gone, never use old ones again, you'll create new down the road -- it just will not sync no matter what from an old copy at this point)
Step 4: Hard-wire sync your iPad and your Mac through iTunes. You'll have to turn on all the sync features. DO NOT sync your iPhone (unless it will be the only thing you sync with your iCloud and mac). Go back into the Info tab and after syncing turn off all the sync features you turned on (contacts, calendars, etc)
    Step 5: Disconnect from iTunes
Step 6. Log back into iCloud.com on your Mac. Leave it be.
Step 6B - and this is important: On both your iPad and your iPhone, turn off all calendars that are not yours as per above.
Step 7. Log back into iCLoud on your iPad.  Your iPAD will become your primary sync source. Now go ahead and one at a time turn on the address book (wait a bit, check icloud.com on your Mac to make sure it was connected properly). Then turn on the calendar (wait a bit -- depending on how big your calendar is, it might take 5-10 minutes for it to all upload to iCloud from the iPad). Check iCloud to make sure it is there. Same thing with all the other features -- one at a time from the iPad first.
Step 7. From your Mac, go to Preferences>iCloud> and turn on one feature at a time. It should now be okay without any duplicates being introduced. Give it a few minutes to make sure everything remains stable.
Step 8. Now connect your iPhone to iCloud-- be aware this might cause duplicates on your iPhone -- not to worry, there is a way to fix that. Add one feature at a time as you recreate your iCloud account on your iPhone. Start with Address, then then others...
Step 9. Check your iPhone calendar. You might have duplicates on your iPhone. That is okay. DO NOT do any further sync at this time. If you only have one copy of your calendars on your iPhone, you are good to go, and your iCloud connection should now be stable.  Step 9B -- If you have duplicates on the iPhone, go to iCloud settings on your iPhone, and uncheck Calendars. When it says delete all on this iPhone, select yes. Wait a moment. Turn your iPhone back on. It should within a few moments push one single copy of the calendar to your iPhone. Now your are good to go.
Why this is such a hassle, is anybody's guess. We literally had two Geniuses at my local Apple Store working on this with me, and we had Apple's Tech Support on the phone the entire time through the process.  When it takes about 7 people to correct a simple iCloud tech problem, you know there is something seriously amiss and there will be a lot of problems with people using iCloud for the smartphone features rather than the entertainment features down the road.
Anyway -- hopefull this might work for some of you. If not, good luck in finding your solution.
The overall answer seemed to have been to a) completely delete all old data and backup clean copies, and b) use the iPad DEVICE as your primary inital iCloud sync source. How backward is that, when your desktop/laptop should always be one's primary source.

  • Sync fails on all devices

My sync fails with all devices.
    iPhone 5
    iPod 5
    iPad 2
all previously backed up. Ever since the first backup they have failed. several updates in iOS and iTunes. I am upgrading my HDD on my PC running Win 7. Every piece of software is a fresh install. And still fail. Tried changing USB ports. No change. Is there any log file that is on the devices that could block this, if it is corrupt? I've already done a hard reset on one of the phones and no change. This is rrrrreeeeeaaaalllyyy irritating. I love the phones and iPad. I'm really ticked at iTunes. Always had problems with it. It has always bogged my computer down and never shows you what its doing.
    Please help!!!!!!!!!

    check out funambol or scheduleworld
or stick with the gmailsync... it will eventually work... it just got released not to long ago... they will work out the bugs... once they do, it will be the next best thing to a BES

  • Problem syncing Calendar on ALL devices

While my calendar and (any updates) is syncing on my iPad and Macbook Air, it's not syncing on my iPhone.  I turned it off and back on later but now there's NOTHING appearing on the calendar on my iPhone.  HELP!

    Please try the following...
First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

  • Sync calendars in all devices

Hi. I can't make the Ical sync in all devices. If i write an event on the iphone or ipad it won't sync with the imac or vice versa. Not even via icloud. Any ideas? Thanks

  • Keynote deleted my presentations from icloud on all devices

I seem to have lost all my presentations on icloud.
I was using my ipad offline, trying to show a presentation. While keynote for ipad was loading, I saw all presentations, but before I could do anything, all presentations disapeared, leaving only the default "get started" presentation. As I was offline, I thought somehow that this was the problem, and thought nothing of it.
So before going online with the ipad, I wanted to back up my presentations on my MBA (which I took offline for this), just in case, but when opening keynote on my MBA, it gave me the start using keynote on icloud page, with no presentations at all.
I use keynote regularly on this computer, so this was strange, additionally, I am still logged in via numbers and pages, with all documents there. I restarted the computer, in case there was some sign-in problem, but with no luck.
Also checking icloud.com, no presentations are listed. And checking my iphone just showed me some presentations briefly before deleting them all.
I have no idea what happened, why iCloud deleted all my presentations, and how I can recover them. I do regular time machine back ups. Can I somehow recover them from there? Or does Apple have a chance to recover them?
    Thanks for your help.
    c

My iCloud just deleted my presentation from my iPad as well and I almost freaked out! Haha.. Fortunately I figured out how to find mine.  I had orginally created the Keynote on my Mac.. Of course when I tried to open from my mac it wasn't there also.... but, I went to "File" and Open Recent... and there were some crazy looking file names.  I click on the first one and to my wonder, it opened my most recent presentation that iCloud deleted.  Thank the Lord for autosave.  Hope this helps - Ron.

  • Syncing email on all devices?

    Hello!
Ever since I have the new iphone I need to delete emails on different devices, it no longer deletes an email in my yahoo account if I just do it from 1 device, so I have to go to yahoo from each device and delete it! How do I change this?
    Thanks
    BJ

You must access your Yahoo account as an IMAP account with each device.
Unless all devices are iOS devices, you won't be able to.

  • How do you sync icloud to new device

my old iphone broke so i got a new one. i need to sync my photos from icloud to my new iphone

First confirm that the new phone is running the same or higher version of iOS as your old one (Settings>General>About>Version).  If it isn't, you'll need to update it first.
Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud backup and follow the prompts, choosing the backup of your old phone to restore from.
Be sure the phone is connected to wifi and your charger while it is restoring the backup.

  • Do you need to buy icloud on all devices that I want it on?

I am trying to sync my new ipad and new iphone to my desktop(not a mac) to icloud....HELP anyone.
The ipad and Iphone keep saying that I the account is not verified and check my email on how to do it, but no email ever arrives...

No, you don't need to buy Compressor for FCPX to work.
Are you sure you meet the minimum tech specs for FCPX? How much RAM do you have? I'm wondering about how much disk space you have available as well.

  • HT4436 How do you set up icloud on all devices so that they communicate

how do I set up my icloud on my iphone and macbook so that they communicate with each other

This can get a little confusing, your AppleID account has an email address associated with it, and a user ID.  The iCloud account can be the AppleID account, but only if the AppleID is an email address.  The iCloud account ID must be an email address.  And, if you have made the ID: [email protected], then you cannot change that account.  But you can change the AppleID account to match.
See the iCloud FAQ for more info.

  • HT4759 can I upgrade from snow leopard to current version of Mountain Lion on my Mac?  So I can use icloud on all devices?

Can I upgrade from Snow Leopard  -  OS X 10.6  - on my current Mac to Mountain Lion  -  OS X 10.8.2?   Or even up into IOS?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
As your Mac is running Mac OS X 10.6, first open  > Software Update and install Mac OS X 10.6.8. This update will add the App Store, so open it and try purchasing Mountain Lion. If your Mac is compatible, the computer will start downloading Mountain Lion.
While your Mac is downloading Mountain Lion, you should make a backup of your files. Also, check if your apps are supported > http://www.roaringapps.com
If your Mac isn't compatible with Mountain Lion, see if you can use OS X Lion > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4949 If it's compatible, call Apple to purchase Lion > http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57

  • ICloud Mail not syncing as "read" across all devices

If I read an email on my Mac, it does not mark as read on my iPhone and i still see the new mail notification on the lock screen and there is a new mail mark on the mail app icon when i unlock the iPhone until I open up mail app and it checks manually.
When I used the Gmail Exchange server or Gmail App with Gmail account  it works perfectly and when i read my mail it sync immediately on all devices and the new mail notification disappear immediately after reading the mail on the other device.
Is there any way that iCloud mail can update reading mail Immediately like Gmail Exchange server or Gmail App?

Unfortunately, iCloud only pushes new mail. In iOS, it has never pushed the updated status of mail read, moved or flagged on other devices. http://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT203545
You could try switching your iCloud mail to fetch instead of push. I've never tried this, but maybe it will fetch the read status, as per the fetch schedule.

  • My photo stream-need to sync across all devices, that's the purpose right?

We have iPhone 5Cs, an iPad, and a computer that runs windows 7.  We used to be able to use the My Photo Stream across devices just fine.  When I took a picture on my iPhone it would automatically sync to My Photo Stream on my computer.  When we took pictures on our iPad same thing, when my son takes pictures on his iPhone it would also sync seamlessly to My Photo Stream on our computer.  It is enabled, but when I click on the icon in My Favorites it says it's not enabled and to open iCloud, I do but then it is clearly clicked on to enable.  I have signed out of all iCloud accounts and signed back in to no avail.  I pay for extra storage on iCloud because the hope was I would be able to sync pictures across all devices, 2 iPhones, iPad, computer, and iCloud.  But this isn't happening.  I want to be able to take a picture with my phone and (when connected to Wi-Fi) be able to have that sync to my computer and the iCloud especially.  What is wrong?

In fact when I uninstalled iCloud and reinstalled it, I thought it had fixed itself, because it did revert back to the default location and the My Photo Stream was showing up, oddly enough when I took a picture on the phone and went back into the My Photo Stream it would come up with the error message that "iCloud Photos is not enabled" which it clearly was before I took the picture.  It had My Photo Stream with no photos in it.  Am I missing a setting?

  • IPad 2 not syncing Calendar to other devices through iCloud

My iPad 2 is not syncing Calendar events to other devices through iCloud
Devices:  MacBook Pro (Mountain Lion 10.8.2), iPhone 3GS (iOS 6.0), iPad 2 (iOS 6.0)
    iPad 2 Settings:
       iCloud settings: Calendars 'ON'
Mail, Contacts, Calendars: Default Calendar:  Calendar; Sync:  All events
       Shared Calendar Events:  'ON'
Within Calendar App:  Calendars checked:  Home, Calendar
    iPhone 3GS Settings:
       Identical to iPad 2 settings
MacBook Pro iCloud Calendar: Home and Calendar checked
I set up the following test event entries for the same date to see what was coming up in each device above:
1-From iPad:  iPad to iCloud test
2-From iPhone:  iPhone to iCloud test
       3-From iCloud.com:  iCloud.com to iCloud test
4-From MacBook Pro:  Launchpad Calendar App to iCloud test
(The last two entries may be redundant, but I wanted to cover all possibilities.)
I then I checked the Calendar App for each of the above devices for "events" 1, 2, 3, and 4 above.
The iPhone Calendar App had "events" 2, 3, and 4
The MacBook Calendar App through LaunchPad had "events" 2, 3, and 4
    iCloud.com had "events" 2, 3, and 4
The iPad, however, had "events" 1, 2, 3, and 4
Only the iPad had all events entered from all devices.  This creates a problem, of course, since I almost always have the iPad with me, and that's where I make additions/changes to Calendar, Contacts, Notes, and Reminders. Dependability across the Cloud is pretty important!  What can I do to resolve this?
N.B., Contacts and Reminders synced successfully across all devices through iCloud.  Notes, on the other hand, showed a different problem.  When I created a "Test from devices" note, the iPad and the iPhone showed the additions to the note from each device, including the MacBook.  The MacBook only showed what had been written from the MacBook.  Hmmmm...
Any help here would be greatly appreciated!
