Sync Indesign Settings from CC to CC 2014

I can't get my ID settings to sync from CC over to 2014?  I click on the sync settings button and sync the settings and I'm signed in but nothing happens.  Does anyone know how I could get this to work for me please.

Try Edit > Migrate Settings from Previous Version.

  • Why is it so chaotic to Sync Settings between apps of Adobe CC 2014? (and to transfer settings from CC to CC 2014)

Although, in general I'm a big fan of the Adobe Products and the CC Idea, I think that some parts of it were not ready for launch.
The part that mostly disturbs me is the settings syncing / Update. (Or "Seamless Update")
    Concerning the updates:
I had own workspace in all the CC Adobe Apps, the only CC 2014 App that imported the previous settings in the new app at the first start was Photoshop.
Indesign made it through the Edit => Migrate previous local settings
Illustrator by copying the settings files manually
in Dreamweaver and Flash I had to recreate the workspace manually (which finally took less time then trying  to sync settings.)
So long for the Seamless update that wasn't so seamless.
    Concerning the settings syncing
Why could'nt adobe have the settings syncing working the same way in all it's CC 2014 applications? ( File Menu on PC / The Name of the App Menu on Mac => Sync Settings, upload or download settigns; done!)
    Instead (on mac) :
In Photoshop: Photoshop => my account name => upload and download settings ( and no way to import settings from previous version )
In Illustrator: Illustrator => my account name => Sync Settings ( and I cannot import settings from the previous version, only from the same version )
in Indesign: Indesign => my account name => Sync Settings ( and the only CC 2014 App where the "Migrate previous local settings" function is working )
in Dreamweaver => my account name => Sync Settings and a button on the far right of the upper toolbar (and no way to import previous version's local settings)
in Flash => my account name => Sync Settings and a button on the far right of the upper toolbar (and no way to import previous version's local settings)
in Premiere Pro => my account name => Sync Settings with the possibility to clear settings and to use settings from a different account
Appart from that update and syncing chaos, the syncing between two computers simply doesn't seem to work ( at least for me).
I have a computer at work and a laptop at home and I'd like to have the same workspace in my apps at home as at work for occasional home working.
I created and configured my custom workspaces on the mac at work and then synced settings (respectively uploaded them in Photoshop). I had cleared all the saved settings from the Creative Cloud online account first.
I arrived at home, tried to sync settings but no workspace was implemented. (and before you ask, yes i had checked that the workspaces should be synced and that, on the laptop at home, the cloud settings should be applied.)
After few tryings I gave up and ended up recreating my setings on both machine. Frankly I don't know why the sync settings are for, since they just don't seem to work.
I really think you should rethink this feature: make it simpler, working THE SAME WAY in all Adobe apps, and, well, just working!
I'd just like to log into creative cloud an any computer, sync settings, and be able to use my custom created workspace.
I posted this in the Cloud Forum since, in my opinion, the settings syncing is a cloud matter and not a matter of each app individually.

  • Help Exporting Settings from CC to CC 2014

Hello, our team, in which everyone is on a Mac OSX 10.7.5 has recently upgraded to AI and PSD CC 2014.  Prior we have been having sync issues with our settings, in which the syncing just not seem to travel between computers.  Our new issue though, is, we are trying to sync all of our personal settings from AI CC to AI CC 2014.  We are exporting our settings from EDIT > MY SETTINGS > EXPORT SETTINGS in CC and then in 2014 we are running the import function, selecting the exported file and all getting the same message "File does not contain valid illustrator settings.  Please select a valid settings file."  Please advise on how we can have our settings travel so we do not need to st up our workspaces again on all computers.  Thanks.

You can manually move the settings files from the old location to the new:
    Workspaces:  ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator 17 Settings/en_US/Workspaces
    Keyboard Shortcuts:  ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator 17 Settings/en_US
The new location would be the same, except "Adobe Illustrator 17 Settings" becomes "Adobe Illustrator 18 Settings".

  • Can't sync mail settings from iTunes to iOS7

I can't seem to sync the mail account settings from my computer to my new iphone, and have to enter them all manually. iTunes says it's done the business, but it uploads settings for a whole load of accounts I don't use (in spite of me unchecking them) and not the ones I do use.
I should note that I use imap, and have icloud syncing for email turned off.
Fortunately I'm clever and can enter them manually, but it does take away from the "use straight out of the box" ethos of Apple, especially as I have spent a fortune updating my hard and software to the latest products.
    Fix it Apple.

You should begin by transferring your purchased content into your iTunes library so that the sync does not "erase" the iPad. There is no need to remove apps from the iPad before you sync.
Connect the iPad to your computer, launch iTunes, right click on the iPad name on the left side and select - Transfer Purchases from the pop up window. Let the transfer complete, right click on the iPad name again and this time select - Backup. That will backup the iPad app data and settings (among other things) to your computer.
Make sure that you are signed into the same account on the iPad - the same Apple ID - that you are using on the computer in iTunes. On the iPad go to Settings>Store >Apple ID in order to check. If the ID's are the same - go into the Apps Tab in iTunes on the right. Make sure that the Sync Apps heading is selected and make sure that all of the apps are selected to sync as well. You can go into all of the tabs in iTunes and select all of the content that you want to sync. When you are sure that everything is selected the way that you want - click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes to sync the content to the iPad.

  • I upgraded to 8.0.1 and now my settings will not sync (download settings) from the cloud.

I updated Premiere to 8.0.1 yesterday and now I am un able to sync my settings.
I want the settings I have in adobe cloud to be downloaded to my current computer and every time I try and sync it goes all the way to the end (yellow progress bar goes all the way across) and then I get an little box saying Syncing Settings Failed.
I tried logging out  in Premiere and then logging back in.

    Hi bumpfilms,
Please go to https://creative.adobe.com/appsettings and sign in.
Click on clear all settings or clear settings of a particular application (Make sure the application is closed)
Open CC application sign out and sign in again and then try to sync the settings after launching the application again.

  • Sync Email Settings from Outlook

When I sync my Outlook Mail Account Seetings via iTunes -- those accounts show up on my iPhone; however, you can't go into settings to see how they have been set up.
Two of my email accounts which work flawlessly on my computer give me error messages on the iPhone. And of course there is no way to check why its not working.
    Profiles:
A user must be able to define his own profiles. For instance -- when I put the phone on silent -- I should have the option to define how the phone behaves under the profile "silent". Further, I should be able to set up new profile settings like "Outdoor" where the ring could be very loud. Apple could go a step further and add "Brightness" to the equation so that you can even choose the brightness of the screen in certain profiles.

I would recommend creating the accounts manually on the iPhone and turning off the mail account information sync. I so far have not been impressed with that feature.

  • Cannot sync mail settings from macbook to iphone using itunes

hi. i am another new mac user. i have one problem with syncing my iphone through itunes. i can select contacts, calendar and bookmarks, BUT the mail options are shaded grey and not available to select.
i'm guessing that somehow i have selected that mail be synced with mobile me, but i don't want to do this!
can anyone please advise how i revert to syncing with itunes?
also, don't know if this is related, but my iphone doesn't seem to be backing up to my macbook when i try syncing or updating in itunes.
Would be really grateful for guidance. thanks.

    Hi,
For the email account syncing issue, try restarting the iPhone and your Mac. You can restart the iPhone by holding the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears> then slide to turn off> and turn the iPhone back on by pressing the Sleep/Wake again, as described on page 34 of the iPhone User Guide.
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/iPhoneUserGuide.pdf
For the backup issue, try right-clicking the iPhone and choosing Backup iPhone as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Do you see the backup in the iTunes> Preferences> Devices?

  • How to transfer app settings from iPhone?

We only got the iPad in the Uk today so apologise if these are obvious questions!
Is it possible to sync/transfer settings from my iPhone to iPad. I set up my new iPad and would like iPhone settings on the iPad to be synced e.g. preferences of an app etc. Is this possible or will the devices work independently. I am not a games fan but I do indulge in Angry Birds, the iPad version has lost all my settings! Is it possible for both devices to sync settings so that whatever platform I play on the settings will be updated?
I have not yet Kindle yet, are page marks etc synced between the devices?

Actually it does not work that way. Actual program settings might, in a few Apps, be retained upon backup. But no data are permitted to be stored in backup by 3rd party apps. Only Apple Apps will retain data. Everything else had to be started anew on the iPad.
That is, your notes, contacts, address book, data will get backed up and synced. But ToDo apps, for example, will not sync your data and you will need to start tons fresh on iPad. Neither will any of your games settings be retained, and you will be back to Level One on all of them.

  • 2nd computer won't sync Indesign workspace settings from cloud

Wonder if somebody could help please? I have Indesign CC 2014 installed on my work computer and offsite on my home computer. I sync my workspace from the work computer to the cloud but my home just doesn't give me the option to download the cloud workspace. All i can do on the home computer is press sync settings which then overwrites the cloud settings. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

    Have you tried here:

  • Settings are not syncing between AI CC and AI CC 2014

I can't get the settings to sync from AI CC to AI CC 2014. I am able to sync the settings in AI CC and supposedly they are available in the cloud but when I open AI CC 2014 the workspaces and keyboard shortcuts are not available for me to choose. Having the same problem in ID CC and ID CC 2014 as well. I was finally able to get PS CC 2014 to load my settings but I'm not entirely sure why those decided to show up. Anyone else having this problem and have a solution to fix it?

    Stuart, l3acon,
It has been up in other threads here. CC 2014/CC18 functions as a new version.

  • 'Sync Settings' in After Effects CC 2014 wont sync after incremental AECC2014.0.0 - AECC2014.0.1 update

After doing an incremental update from AECC 2014.0.0 to AECC 2014.0.1 the Sync Settings dialogue doesn't work.
After clicking on ‘Sync Settings’ I get:
‘Authentication failed. Check network connection, Adobe ID, and password. Please try again’.
After checking all of those things (network, password etc) I try again but there's no change and I get the same error dialogue again.
I then tried ‘Use settings from a different account’ but still using my existing Adobe login details but I still get the sync dialogue error message.
    What's the story morning glory?
Running AECC 2014.0.1 on MacBook Pro - 10.9.4

I have exactly the same issue and error message, whilst clearly logged in to CC (the AE main menu shows I'm logged in and does everything it should when logged in apart from sync my settings).
It's clearly an issue at Adobe.  There was a similar problem last year which affected Premiere too.

  • PS v14.2.1 - Can't sync settings from cloud

I recently had to do a clean install of Windows 7 (x64) and reinstall all of my CC apps. I'm using PS version 14.2.1 which is the same version I was using prior to the Windows install, and for which I had synced many settings). For some reason there's no option to obtain my sync info from the cloud, and I'll be damned if I have to go through the whole process again, as I recently had to do with Illustrator 17.1.0
Does anyone know how I get the settings from the cloud and into Photoshop?
    Any help much appreciated.

For what it's worth I have access to a second computer with the correct sync settings (which I synced to the Cloud, so the Cloud should now have my desired sync settings), but PS on my first computer still refuses to show anyway to apply these settings.
I'm downloading the 2014 release now but it shouldn't really be necessary. This is so frustrating, especially when the Adobe PS sync help page only applies to the 2014 release (I can't find any sync help for the previous versions anymore).

  • Sync settings from CC to CC2014

I can´t get the sync to work.
I sync from CC, sync uploaded ok.
I try to sync from CC2014. Sync ok. I hit the «apply» button in the left lower window corner (weird placement), but nothing happens.
    No keyboard commands, no workspaces.
I kinda liked my old settings...
Does any one have an idea?
    Thanks

    Hi,
When you do 'Sync Settings Now' in Flash CC 2014 for the First time, it will start the sync and at the end it will ask you Whether to Sync Cloud or Sync Local. If you choose to Sync Cloud it will carry forward all the settings saved in cloud for CC.
    Thanks!
    Mohan
