Sync -ing my I Mac with my portable

I just purchased a new portable and installed an air port - got that working now I want to sync both machines with my I mac being the " boss" I do have a .mac account now called moble me. Any help would be great

I'm afraid you're asking in the wrong place. iSync is for syncing a Mac with a mobile phone or PDA - it does not sync Macs to each other.

How do I sync iCal on my mac with OS 8 devices

    Hi jgiolma,
Since you do not mention what version of the Mac operating system you are running on your MacBook Pro it is a little hard to answer your question. For computers running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 or later one way to sync your calendars would be to use iCloud. See this article for minimum system requirements for iCloud -

  • Can you just sync playlists across 2 macs with identical libraries

can you just sync playlists across 2 macs with identical libraries. i have done a carbon copy of my home mac itunes library to a work mac.  i'll then switch itunes match on on the home mac, and i am assumign i won't need to redownload everything to my work mac.   my question is though, is it possibnle to use itunes match to just sync playlists as really i dont want to have to upload my contetn to the cloud as its nearly all not goign to be on itunes match in the cloud (obscure stuff).  so if i keep libraries in sync myself, can i jsut use match to sync my playlists?
    cheers

No you can't. Match is an all or nothing service.
However, depending on the size of your library and your upload speeds, you may be surprised at how quickly the match/upload process takes, and by the amount of stuff that does match.
Depending on how big an issue the subscription fee is to you, it may be worth giving it a go. I use match mainly to keep my iTunes libraries in sync and it is the solution that I've been looking for for years.

  • There has GOT to be a way to sync Entourage on one mac with Entourage on...

There has GOT to be a way to sync Entourage on one mac with Entourage on another mac! So far, the only way I can find to keep my mail synced on two macs using Entourage is to kill the Daemon on one machine and copy over the contents of the Microsoft directory to the other machine, but this is NOT a sync, it's a replacement. This will not work if email has been exchanged on both machines before the copy can be done. So what are we supposed to do? Thx for any help on this perplexing problem.
    coocoo

Wait, I'm confused. Chronosync is just a fancy filecopy no? I think i tried it once moons ago just for folder syncing. it worked, but i did not see much advantage of that over just dragging the files. It still won't sync the individual emails right? (ie. add new, leave old alone). But u say using an imap server will help there? I don't even know what that is, but I guess I can install it on one of my macs right? Or do I have to pay to subscribe to one (like mac.com or whatever that thing is)? not an option here in Nepal. Well thanks for ur help so far!

  • Gave grandkids Ipads for Christmas.  I need to sync each to my Mac with their own Itune accounts.  I do have them on my computer with their own login.  What is the best way to sync their Ipads?

I need to sync each of my grandkids IPads to my Mac with their own Itune accounts.  Each grandkid does have a login on my computer that I control.  On their IPads they each set up a ITune account.  What is the best way to sync their Ipads?  Is there something I need to make sure is turned on in their accounts on my computer?

    Hi Jodel,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your grandkids each have a user account on your Mac, you can use the steps in this article to set up syncing with each user account and iPad:

  • How do I sync Office 2011 for Mac with Contacts under Mountain Lion?

How do I sync Office 2011 for Mac (Outlook) contacts with Contacts under Mountain Lion (or iOS6)?  Outlook doesn't seem to have moved on from iSync, and meddling seems to produce unpredictable results.

You can't. Microsoft have not added support for the industry standard sync protocols iCloud uses.

  • I got it. Syncing Blackberry Storm using Mac with Missing Sync

I just bought my Storm Sat and have been trying to sync for days. I have a IBOOK G4 running the latest TIGER OS. I read all you guys post and I think it all helped a lot. Im a new BB user so it took me awhile to figure the phone. Ok, so anyway to the good stuff. As mentioned I followed some of the other threads, installing Pocket Mac and the updated driver. Uninstalling and re-installing. Taking the battery out and all that. None of that worked for me either like some of you. Keep getting the error message. So, I broke down and bought Missing Sync. Still wouldn't work. So, tonight I uninstalled PocketMac and deleted all files associated with off my Mac. Then I brought Missing Sync up on my Mac. On your Storm go to Options then Memory. Click on Mass Storage Mode Support select On. Then when you see Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode I selected Prompt or you could do Yes. Save Changes. Then go to Missing Sync just set what your preferences are for sync and click Sync. Boom- you are good to go.
This is what I did. It sync my Itunes and IPhoto and everything else. So, now Im at piece. Hope this will help someone. To everyone else thanks for your ideas cause it did help me with my dilemma, so I guess I will keep the Storm.

i managed to get both music and pictures onto my storm from my macbook, and from my storm to my macbook.
i had to go into options on the storm, then memory, then to "prompt" for auto enable mass storage mode when connected.
then i disconnected and re-connected the usb with pocketmac open on my macbook and it started synching. at first it synched everything BUT my music and photos. then i noticed when i plugged the usb back into my storm once more, two seperate blackberry harddrives appeared on my desktop, Blackberry1 and Blackberry2. I went into Blackberry1, then to the folder "home", then to the folder "user", then to the folders "music" and "photos" and just clicked and dragged music from my itunes library and photo library into those folders. then I tested it to make sure it worked. sounds great on the storm! it has to be done into the folders on Blackberry1 though, i tried it with Blackberry2 and even though it has the same folder names, when i tried to play the music i had dragged and dropped said it was an incompatible format. it's not the format, it's just the wrong drive.
hope this helps someone out, it worked for me!

  • Sync Z1 / Kalender on mac with bridge

    Hi,
On OSX using Brigde for Mac there is no Menu Point for Kalender synchronisation (Expiria Z1), just Contact Sync is available.
    Why
    BR Thomas

Google calendar it's OK, but if I need to sync my calendar on my company Server (iCal Server)? I can sync it to my Mac's local iCal (throug a VPN), and was able to sync it with iSync to my old Nokia E51 an even the older Sony Ericsson K700, and now I can't sync it to Xperia Z3 compact... it really seems me a step backward. It was the same with my previos HTC, but really hoped something better from Sony.

  • Sync'ing ezdrummer, Superior Drums with Logic pro

Hi - I am trying to sync ezdrummer and superior drums with the measures and metronome on Logic and can't seem to do it - the metronome is completely of and each measure in teh drum pattern ends up in the middle of the time bar on logic - completely random. This is in spite of resetting the temo on the project (which shouldn't be necessary)
    Any help would be appreciated

    Hi Erik,
I 'play' in my drums by 'drumming' on my keys - is that also called 'programming'?
My definition of 'drum programming' is:
It is acceptable to say you are programming if you're editing MIDI events or regions in the process, recording/editing within a composition of multiple MIDI performances, if entered with a controller or manually, modifying the sounds or samples used by a performance, and many other scenarios. 'Drum programming' encompasses most things which are aided by a sequencer or a sound generator (I'm not considering live drums in this explanation). 'Programming' is such a vague term, there is nearly always a better word to use (assuming you want to be specific), because the term can be used for just about anything related to MIDI events or sound generation/reproduction/sound design for a drum track or loop.

    Hello,
I am new to mac environment.  I would like to sync up my itunes library from my PC to Macbook Pro. I currently backup my itunes on PC using synctoy 2.1  to  portable drive. I am able to copy folders from portable drive onto macbook pro but would like the abililty to sync ( ie copy the delta) to save time.
    Thanks,
macbook pro - OS X Lion
    PC -XP

It depends on what they are. Generally, a Mac OS X application will have a distinctive icon; if they’re all documents(not Windows applications), double-click all of them.

  • How can sync Contacts on My Mac with my Icloud Contacts?

Does anyone know how can set up a sync between "Contacts on My Mac" and my "Icloud Contacts"?  I am looking to get a complete copy in both locations.  Is there a way to do it in the OS or any reliable third party software?  Any help is much appreciated... thanks!

Outlook for Mac is not compatible with iCloud. The only people who can fix this are Microsoft, who, so far, refuse to support the industry standard CalDAV and CardDAV protocols iCloud uses in their Mac products.
Microsoft would prefer you use their own proprietary syncing solution - Exchange - to sync with Outlook.
Although Microsoft don't support open sync protocols, Apple do support both open and closed protocols so Macs, iPhones and iPads all support syncing with Microsoft Exchange, as well as with iCloud, Google Sync and others.
If you insist on using Outlook for Mac, you'll have to switch over to a Microsoft Exchange based system to sync with your iOS devices.
