Sync ipad2 to a new dell laptop

Issues 1
i purchased a new dell laptop and now my ipad will not give me the ability to sync the only button clickable is  revert

Did you transfer your purchases to the new iTunes library on your PC? You will also want to backup your iPad.
You need to authorize your computer as well in order to download iTunes content. From the iTunes menu at the top go to Store>Authorize this computer.
Read this and see if it makes sense to you. It is a way to transfer your purchased content to iTunes. The information was copied from this discussion.
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2431472
1) Without connecting your iPad to your laptop, start iTunes. Click on Edit. Click on Preferences. Click on Devices. Check the box next to "Prevent your iPod etc. from automatically syncing." Click OK.
2) Now connect your iPad to your laptop and start iTunes.
3) When iTunes starts, right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select Transfer purchases etc.
4) After it finishes transferring all your apps to your new laptop, right click on your iPad and select Backup your iPad.
5) After it finishes backing up your iPad, right click on your iPad and select Restore etc.
6) After it finishes restoring, left click on your iPad , then click on the Apps tab on top, and check the box next to Sync Apps, then click on Apply below.
If everything on your iPad looks good after the sync, go back and click on Edit / Preferences / Devices and UN-check the box next to Prevent your iPod etc. The only other thing you may want to check is if your contacts, bookmarks, etc. are syncing correctly now. If not, go to the Info tab after connecting and make sure you indicate which features you want to sync with what sources.

Just downloaded iTunes to new dell laptop, tried syncing my iPhone get an error message:  "this iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started".  What is the issue, had this phone over a year??

I had this problem before. I like to disable extra services to speed up my computer and I disabled the Apple Mobile Device service and had to re-enable this.
You can do that by going Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services. Once you have gone to the services window, look for Apple Mobile Device and right-click. Select "Properties". There should be some information about the service as well as the label "Startup Type" with a drop-down menu beside it. If it says "disabled", that is your problem; Change the selection to anything except disabled (Automatic is easier and ensures that you can sync as soon as itunes opens).
If this doesn't work, I would look into your anti-virus' settings. Good Luck!

    try this...
This is how I managed to fix the problem...and I hope this helps others in the similar situation.
I tried with another program..latest version of Nero, and this was also stopping at the 'initialising' stage. I was now lost! I thought the last resort is to give Evesham (My PC manufacturer) a buzz. They were very helpfull. Basically go into 'Control Panel', 'System', and click on the Hardware tab, then 'Device Manager'. Uninstall everything in the DVD/CDRom Drives. Then uninstall everything under the catagory IDE ATA/Atapi disk controllers. This is where my problem was, as I only had one IDE channel here. You should have 4 or 5! Reboot your machine, and everything will automatically re-load. I tried burning using Nero and it worked. Then the big test was iTunes. It worked 1st time!
I asked why the IDE channels have dissappearred, and he said sometimes uninstalling Programmes occasionally removes them.
I hope this will help others who are having problems to burn stuff on iTunes.

  • Airport express interference when my other new dell laptop with Vista

My macbook was working great with airport express. Once I bought the new dell laptop with Vista it stopped connecting to airport whenever the Dell is on. Once I switch the Dell off, my macbook immediately connects with airport. The Dell never has any prob trying to connect. I've tried to change the channel but it doesn't help as my Dell is unable to connect. My radio mode is 802.11n ( which is b/g compatible) as I can't use any other mode since my Dell won't pick up other mode. Please help .

  • After getting a new dell laptop, I was able to easily move my itunes library from my old mac to my new laptop, however now when I try to sync my music to my iphone,my songs have an exclimation point next to it and cant sync most of my music. HELP!

I recently was given a new dells windows 7 laptop. I then was able to successfully move my itunes library from my old mac to my new dell. Now I am trying to sync my whole library of music back onto my iphone 4, but when I try it says most of my music can not be located. I have exclimation points next to the majority of my music (I have 368 songs in my itunes acount). Please help me be able to sync my songs to my iphone. I am only able to sync about 31 of my songs.

Copy them from your old computer, or your backuo copy of your old computer. to your new one.
The music sync is one way - computer to ipod.  the exception is itunes purchases.

  • IPAD sync crashes new Dell Laptop every time sync attempted

I have a new Dell latitude 6410 laptop and when trying to sync IPAD to new computer as soon as sync starts running it crashes my laptop to the fatal blue screen.
How uninstalled and reinstalled Itunes, selected to attempt only small file and app sync and still crashes after a few seconds. Apple blames OS, Dell blames Itune-Ipad. I am stuck in the middle very sad and frustrated.

I would uninstall both iTunes and QuickTime and then reinstall them. But reinstall Quicktime first separate from iTunes and than after Quicktime is installed install iTunes.

  • Can't install iTunes on new Dell laptop

I bought a Dell laptop running Windows 7. I can download but not install iTunes. I have tried turning off the pop-up blocker and suspending Norton Antivirus' firewall. Any suggestions? I can't access my full iTunes account that shows previous purchases. And when I plug in my iPod Touch and my new iPad, the computer recognizes them but nothing happens with the iTunes website.

    many thanks.
Are you using Internet Explorer for the download?
If so, fingers crossed the following documents might be of some assistance:
How to download iTunes when Internet Explorer information bar appears

If no joy there, try switching off any pop-up blockers or web accelerators you may have running. (They can also interfere with downloads in this sort of way.)

  • NX and new dell laptop shuttering / skipp

My college recently replaced my old Dell C540 (.7 ghz celeron, 630 mb RAM) with a newer Dell D60 (.6 ghz pentium M, 52 mb RAM).
Before the switch, my NX with my Logitech 2200 speakers worked great. However, now I am hearing random shuttering and skipping while listening to any music (mp3s, streaming audo, etc).
If I use the onboard audio card, there is no skipping.
This happens if only the program playing the music is running (so lots of free memory) and whether or not the laptop is plugged in.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance,

I was searching through on a sound distortion problem of my own, and this thread helped me isolate it. Similar but different:?I have an HP Omnibook 6000 laptop.
I installed an Audigy 2ZS PCI card in a full docking station, which is connected to my network via my house ethernet. I run iTunes on it over the network, with the music all stored on a system in my office. I set it up this way because I wanted a higher quality audio connection going into my stereo system, and it served that purpose quite well. Worked great, until..... If I pulled the laptop out of the docking station, and used the onboard audio, I had terrible audio distortion. I was assuming that it was a conflict between the Creative software installed and the onboad audio, until I read this post. I was, indeed, using a wireless ethernet connection when the laptop was undocked. Pulling out the wireless card and connecting the laptop to a wired connection eliminated the problem. Now, here's the odd part:? Prior to installing the SoundBlaster and associated software, my laptop worked FINE running iTunes over my wireless network using the onboard audio. So, somehow there appears to be a resource issue between Windows XP wireless networking and the Creative software. Has anyone out there run into this sort of issue before? I did a cursory search of this forum and haven't run into anything quite like it.

  • Can I sync my iPod to new Vista laptop without loosing all my tunes?

When I attached my i-pod to my new laptop, I got the "sync'ed to another computer message. Is there a way to import my tunes library (drag & drop?) Import from an external drive? I have tried both and the new iTunes does not seem to find the old music files.
Thanks in advance for any advice,
    DELL XPS M1210   Windows Vista

Yes, it can be done. Vista is set up differently. XP was set up as "Administrator" and "My Music". Vista has taken away the "My" and uses "Owner", etc. Anyway, if by connecting your iPod to the new computer it completely synced it and your iPod is empty...there really is no easy way to get it back other than starting over. If iTunes lists your music but says it can't be found...all you need to do is reassociate every song with the new path. For example: C:/Users/Owner/Music and then whatever folder you may have it in.
    Hope this helps some?
