Sync iphone through wi-fi network...

I did a quick search and didnt see anything about this. I think this may be a neat feature. Its definately something i would use.
I dont always take the time to go and plug my iphone into my comptuer, so i thought it would be cool to be able to sync the phone through the home network via the wi-fi connection. Any thoughts?

Well, right now the iPhone will not support wireless and/or bluetooth sync. If you want, you can leave feedback to Apple that it is a feature you would like to see.

Hope this helps you.

How to sync iTunes with iPhone 4 using bluetooth?

Look in the iTunes app store, search for "bluetooth", you should find a number listed. Make sure you read the descriptions carefully, as well as the reviews!

I just syned my new iphone through itunes and it deleted all of my new pictures.  is there anyway to get them back?

Do you sync your iPhone with iTunes every once in a while? If yes, there are chances that iTunes has taken last backup of your photos, contacts, etc. that you want back.
Connect your iPhone with your PC. launch iTunes, right click on your device and click on "Restore from Backup". Choose the latest backup to proceed.
If you configured iCloud for backup before you restored your iPhone. Go to Settings -> iCloud -  > and login using your Apple ID. Once you've logged in, all the photos, contacts, mail, messages should be back on your iPhone. This may take a while (depending on your network).
Alternatively, if you are only now setting up your iPhone, choose 'Restore from iCloud Backup' in the setup screen. Login with Apple ID and the iPhone will be restored from the latest iCloud backup.

Also, just updated the phone's software today, and iTunes' software is already up to date.

    Hi Gregg,
Have you tried resetting the device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen redisplays, see if your Music app is behaving normally.

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • ITunes on PC does not crash when syncing IPhones but crashes halfway through IPad sync

Itunes and Ipad on latest software iterations.
When syncing IPhones all perform faultlessly. When I try to sync. my IPad ITunes crashes halfway through the process.
For the last two weeks I have not been able to remove downloaded TV programmes via ITunes and have had to perform the removal via
<Settings>General>Usage>Manage storage. One audiobook is not visible on ITunes and cannot be deleted by any method I have tried.
I am storing all media on a WDCloud drive as I have over 1.3 TBytes of films, TV Programmes and audiobooks.
I have tried repairing both ITunes and Quicktime to no avail.

    Hi Brendan
    Thanks for the reply.
I noticed that the sync crashed at the point where it was downloading either Apps or Video (TV Progs). I tried a 'delete all media' reset yesterday. Problem still present and then I had no media or Apps other than some of the Apps as supplied on initial startup.
Today I tried a different USB to Lightning lead and at one point I thought it was working with Wi-Fi sync but whilst it didn't crash, the Icons of the Apps that were present on the IPad before the problem occurred are in the same place as before but greyed out and the Apps obviously have not been loaded.
Funnily enough I did a factory re-set just before you sent this so will post again if this works to help others. I believe this is going to be an IOS 8 problem like so many other IOS 8 problems I have found.
    Best wishes

  • Sync problems with iPhoto & iPhone through iTunes.

I can not sync my iPhoto with my iPhone through iTunes. Error (-50) ?
on my new laptop, I upgraded iPhoto to 9.5.1 and opened a library that I had backed-up from my previous laptop.
iTunes refuses to sync photos with my iphone. It gts stuck on the "import" step.
I tried rebuilding the library, but it did not solve the issue.

In that case, repair your original iPhoto library:
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and repair the library.
If that does not help, quit iPhoto, back up your iPhoto Library, and remove the iPod Photo cache, if there is such a folder, see:  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314
If all fails, back up the iPhoto Library and rebuild it as described by Old Toad:
Re: iPhoto has crashed on a number of occasions, but on 2 occasions also seems to delete several events, including the one I'm editing. When I go to reimport the last event, it shows them as already there. But I can't find them.

  • Syncing iPhone Apps through MobileMe via WiFi?

This may sound crazy but my iPhone appears to have synced apps through WiFi somehow yesterday.
I have not had my phone plugged into my computer for more than a week. Every night I plug it into the wall adapter to charge. Yesterday morning I did not use the phone for anything except to turn off alarms and check Twitter for a few minutes. In the afternoon I tried to use the phone only to see the battery was dead. (Weird in itself considering how little use it had that day).
I plugged the phone into the wall and came back that evening and started making some calls. Later that evening I noticed that there were no open App slots anymore. (Weird again because there had been open slots the day before.) Looking at the apps, I noticed that the ones filling the formerly empty slots were ones I had downloaded into iTunes a while back. (Weirder still that I did not use iTunes on the Mac yesterday.)
Yes, I know this sounds insane and if anyone else told me this happened to their phone I'd tell them they had simply forgotten plugging it into the computer to sync. However, I am the only person in the house, have not connected it to the computer, and lo and behold the battery dies and new apps are loaded. What other explanation is there, outside of the iPhone used MobileMe to sync apps and drained the battery?

Update apps would not have gone active from a simple tap as a) I still would have had to enter my iTunes password and b) it would not have put new apps on the phone.
I have a clue about part of this though. All the apps were purchased before the last backup to my computer. If you have more apps than spaces in the iPhone menus does it just place apps up to the magic number of slots or does it go ahead and load everything in there?
My phone did flake out yesterday evening and I had to power down and restart it. So I am thinking maybe those apps were on the phone outside the menu screens and when it powered back up it saw open slots and moved the apps in question into those slots.
As far as why the battery drained in during the day while not being used for anything, I may just jave to chalk that up to a quark for now.

Can you not sync wirelessly with a desktop PC on a wired network, while your iPhone is on the network wirelessly??

I also thought that this was the case, but that is incorrect.  Please see my previous post below:
I was having the same problem with an iPhone 4 and Windows XP.  I finally fixed the issue! I read several posts over the past month telling me to make sure that both the PC and iPhone were on the same network.  I thought that both were on the same network; however, I was using my "Guest network" to connect my iPhone to my Airport Base Station.  In order for both devices to be on the same network, the first 3 numbers of both IP addresses must match.  For example, if the PC's IP address is 199.167.1.X, the iPhone's IP address must be 199.167.1.Y.   I signed onto my password-protected network from the phone just to see what IP address it would use.  As soon as I logged on, my iPhone started to sync wirelessly.  I don't know if this will work for anyone else, but I would suggest comparing the IP addresses of your PC and iPhone before doing anything else.  For those posting that the PC and iPhone must be on the same Wireless network, my PC is hard-wired to the Airport Extreme and it still works!
    My Setup:
    iPhone 4 (running IOS 5.0.1)
Dell PC (running Windows XP SP3) (no wireless network card)
Airport Exteme Base Station (5th Generation & updated firmware)

  • Do you need to sync the iPhone through iTunes if you sync over the air?

Do you need to sync the iPhone through iTunes if you sync over the air?
My MacBook Pro and iPhone 3G with OS 4 synchronize with each other over the air through my Snow Leopard Server. Though when I connect it to iTunes I see that it allows me to checked "Synchronize with this computer" type options and I'm confused as to why that would be if they're synchronizing over the air.
Can someone help clarify when those should be checked? Because I do want everything that's on my computer synchronized with my iPhone and vice versa, but if I add the accounts on my phone manually that seems to work too.

In regards to syncing contacts and calendar events, if you are syncing this data over the air on your iPhone and the contacts and calendar events synced over the air on your iPhone match the Address Book and iCal data on your Mac, there is no reason to sync this data direct with the Address Book and iCal on your Mac via the iTunes sync process.

  • IPhone - Outlook reminders sync'd through MS Exchange

I sync my iPhone through MS Exchange. All of my appointments from Outlook are brought over as well; however, the iPhone doesn't provide the ability to snooze, edit, or reschedule appointments. Is there an app that provides these functions?

Not that I am aware of.
I don't believe the SDK allows 3rd party apps to communicate with the ActiveSync functions on the Phone.

  • After upgrading to 9.02, can't sync iphone, wants to restore it

After i upgraded to iTunes 9.02, I went to backup my iphone and sync it etc, but instead of syncing, it brought me to a screen that says "An iPhone has been previously synced with this computer" and only offers me the options of setting it up as a new iphone, or restoring it from a previous backup. Unfortunately the previous backup does not have any of the new paid app's I downloaded directly to the iphone, nor does it have all the progress i've made on certain games. Is there any way of correcting this or am I doomed to have to restore everything?
    Thanks in advance!

Hi... I have the same problem. Upgraded to iTunes 9.2 in order to download the iphone iOS4, and now I can't connect to the internet. Airport is connected, and there is an IP address, but Safari can't open pages and iTunes can't connect to the store.
I've been through all the network diagnostics and rebooted all equipment several times, reset Safari, and run both spyware and virus detection with no results. My other computer and iPhone each connect fine using the same wireless connection just fine.
    Any ideas?

One external app on 1st gen iPhone 5.  Cellular Network Data Sent = 1.2GB.  What could cause such a high usage?

I had the same issue, whilst my IPhone 5 iOS 7.0.2  was in my pocket all morning, I checked the usage on traffic monitor and it said data usage 1.1 GB.  My setting are:
    icloud:
    mail:off, contacts:on, calenders:on, reminders:on, Safari:off, Notes:on, passbook:on, photos:off, Documents & Data:on(whatsapp only), Find my Iphone:on
    itunes & apps store:
    music:off, Video:off itunes match:off Automatic downloads music:off, apps:off, books:off, update:off
    Podcasts: Auto downloads:off
itunes wifi sync: last sync Friday 11 Oct 2013 (not this morning)
I am using an inmarsat satelite connection if anybody knows any other settings that could cause vast amounts of data to download please advise. After thought would'nt it be nice if apple had an all in one feature(switch) that only allowed Push notifications and safari usage through. Thanks in advance.
