Actually I create a folder called My.iPod and add it to my Send To context menu:
Now I want to add my optimal musics to this folder from anywhere in my PC and iTunes automatically sync this folder with my iPod.

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive (works the same with an SD card) into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

  • I installed Mountain Lion so that I could sync my notes with my iPhone that already syncs notes with a specific email address I use for school, but during the install it automatically set up Notes to sync w the wrong email addy. How can I fix it?

I installed Mountain Lion so that I could sync my notes with my iPhone that already syncs notes with a specific email address I use for school, but during the install it automatically set up Notes to sync w the wrong email addy. It looked in Mail, which had 5 email accounts set up in it, and for some reason picked the only one that I no longer use because it is for a school that I no longer attend. How can I fix it so that it syncs with the correct email account for notes and calendar? There don't seem to be any settings available other than to check if you want to use the basic features. It also said during the set up that it was setting up 'find my mac' but if I look on the iCloud website there is nothing showing there for finding my mac.
At this point I feel like I wasted my money paying for this supposed upgrade. I got nothing for it but frustration. It even automatically set my security settings to allow only downloads from the Mac store so the first time I went to download something I had to stop what I was doing and go correct settings first. I feel like there should be a security setting to block downloads from the Mac store so I don't accidentally end up clicking the wrong thing and being charged.

iCloud isn't syncing them on your phone.  You simply added the email account to your phone and enabled calendar and notes syncing with the email provider, and the calendar and notes appear in the calendar and notes apps on your phone.  You can do this with Gmail, Yahoo and other IMAP account.  iCloud email is just another IMAP account, but syncs notes with Apple's iCloud server just as Gmail syncs notes and calendars with Google's server.
iCloud didnt' set up a non-iCloud account on your Mac.  When you check Mail in System Preferences>iCloud, it only creates an iCloud email account.  You can also add other email accounts to your Mac by going to System Preferences>Mail,Contacts,Calendars and clicking on the "+" sign on the bottom of the left sidebar.  If you added these other email accounts to your Mac before you upgraded to Mountain Lion, these were simply maintained on your Mac after you upgraded.

  • Cannot sync ipod with itunes after setting up new computer with newest version of itunes

Cannot sync ipod with itunes after setting up on new computer, only songs which tansferred were songs bought on new computer after set up, tried to sync songs and it deleted old songs from ipod.  How can I get them back on ipod??  They are showing in music library on itunes still.

If the iPod database gets corrupted, it will add files to "Other" instead of where they really belong.
Restoring the iPod will erase this database and recreate it.
And if I do this, won't I just have the same issue when my iPod is re-updated to the most recent version again?
No, it shouldn't. This is why you Restore the iPod. It erases the corrupt database.

  • Trouble Syncing iPod with Computer

So, when I plug my iPod into my laptop, it doesn't sync with iTunes. It's as if the iPod isn't even connected at all. However, it seems like the iPod recognizes that it's connected, because it asks me if I want to "trust my computer". The computer itself also seems to recognize that the iPod is connected, because it will automatically open the pictures folder from my iPod onto my laptop screen. But, for whatever reason, iTunes doesn't sync with the iPod, it acts as if nothing has been connected. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

however when I try to sync my older ipod with it and upload some new music to it, Itunes keeps telling me that all the previous songs will be erased
Yes, that's correct. If you don't have the songs that are currently on your iPod also in your new iTunes installation, they will be erased from the iPod if you sync it. Best to start afresh by first transferring all the music on your iPod back to your new computer/iTunes library.
For iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
Find out how to do that here.
How to copy iTunes purchases from an iPod or iPhone to a computer.
For all other non purchased content (your own CDs etc), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it is a little more involved than other methods.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Other free programs are Pod Player, SharePod and Floola.
If you want to recover just the structure of playlists from the iPod (and not the actual song files themselves), there's iRepo for Windows. which I understand has this feature along with all the standard features for these programs.
iPodRip also has the feature enabling you to reconstruct playlists.
There is also CopyTrans. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.
Once all the music is safely back in your new iTunes library, you can sync your iPod as normal.

  • Syncing iPod with iCal

I want to sync my iPod/30Gig with iCal. Actually, I'm using a different calendar/contact manager program called Daylite, but it won't sync directly with the iPod, so I have to export the calendar to iCal first. The problem is that when I sync, it's also syncing all my ToDo's. This wouldn't be bad, except that it syncs all the completed todos as well as the incomplete ones. I really don't know iCal or the iPod (just bought it today). Is there anyway of specifying what gets synced to the iPod from iCal?
    any other suggestions?

I've been sorely disappointed by the same lack of functionality. The nice folks at the Apple store suggested two work-arounds:
    1) Delete any completed ToDo items
    -or-
    2) In iCal, select all in the ToDo items pane and copy (Apple-C or Edit>Copy), then paste into a new file in Text Edit. Save it to the desktop as a .txt file. In iTunes>iPod>Music prefs, make sure you have 'Enable disk use' checked. Copy the .txt file from your desktop to the Notes folder on your iPod. Once you eject/disconnect your iPod, you should find the text file under the Notes heading in your main menu (unless you haven't set Notes to display).
It's hardly worth it, which makes me think I should ditch iCal & just keep my ToDo list in text files like I used to, but it's the only simple work-around.
    Good luck!

  • Auto-syncing ipod with itunes: how not to have it synced with whole library

I remember a year ago when I had itunes automatically sync with my ipod, it created a playlist, something along the name of "NAME's iPOD SONGS" or something like that. And then every time i connected my ipod, it would only look into that playlist to see what's been added or removed, and so it would sync only with that folder.
But now, it wants to sync with my whole library, which doesn't fit on my ipod. How do I make it sync with only a playlist instead?
    Thanks

    Connect your iPod to iTunes
When it appears click on the iPod icon in the left hand pane
    Select the Music tab
Near the top of the tab select *Sync Music* & *Selected playlists:*
Check the playlists you want to include, uncheck those you don't
    Click Apply

  • Cannot sync iPod with click wheel to iTunes...

I cannot sync my iPod with click wheel to my iTunes on Windows. I have already attempted the five R's, multiple times, including restoring my iPod three times, and updating my iTunes software. But when I plug my iPod in, it takes forever to be recognized by iTunes, and just sits there, whizzing and clicking, with the "Do Not Disconnect" message blinking. After awhile, iTunes will download a song or two from my library, then quit. I often get a message that says my iPod is "corrupted." Help! How can I get my iTunes library back on to my iPod?

I am having similar issues. I have received lots of advice, none of which work so far but there is lots to try here. Good luck!

  • Syncing ipod with itunes will it tranfer over song ratings?

I just imported my itunes libary from one computer to another and lost my song ratigns and play count. If I sync my ipod with my itunes libary on my new computer will it transfer over the song ratings from the ipod to the computer, or will the computer overide the ratings on my ipod and make everything "unrated"?

Perhaps a corrupted iPod? Why not try a restore (warning: will erase and then resync everything) and see if that clears it up?

  • Syncing iPod with different OS...

I have been using my iPod with my Mac ongoing....
now I am traveling and will be taking a netbook/Windows 7. I'll be downloading iTunes into the netbook PC and then putting selected music folders from the Mac into the netbook iTunes.
    My question is:
when I plug the iPod into the now-loaded netbookPC iTunes, will it cause problems of syncing the two together(not work properly, losing existing iPod music, reading song files properly,re-writing music files, etc.).
When it asks me the 1st time if I want to Sync with the netbook iTunes, how do I handle this with the least amount of potential problems ?
    Thanks

    Hi there.
I'm no expert on this matter, but I know that with the older iPods ( I don't know if they changed it with the newer models) you could not take music, pictures, movies etc. off an iPod. You could only replase them, or delete them.
Now, you do get some external programs that can take the songs off of an iPod.
What I suggest you do is take all the music off of your old computer, and put it on your new one. This way, when you sync your iPod with your new computers itunes library you will not lose any if your songs, movies etc. because it will be like syncing with your old computer.
Not sure if that helped at all.

  • Syncing iPod with iPhone?

I have an iPod Touch 4th generation 32gb, and I just bought an iPhone 4 32gb. How do I copy or sync the info from my iPod with my new iPhone?

Do you have the music in iTunes?
I want to transfer the music on my iPod to my phone
    You can't.
You can transfer from iTunes to the iPhone the same way you transfer from iTunes to the iPod.
I tried putting in blank CD's and put my iPod music on there then upload the music from the CD's to my library
How did you get the music onto a CD if it was not in your library?
yopu cannot burn from the iPod to a CD.
