Sync isn't recognizing
Okay, here's my whole predicament laid out. I've had my ZVP for more than 4 months or so, and up until now, it's worked perfectly. But now, it's gone completely screwy. First, it completely froze up, and when I hit the reset button and let it turn back on, about 90% of my music library had spontaneously deleted itself. Definitely an annoying occurence. I then decided to go to the computer, I would completely delete what was left on the player, and just resync everything. Now I run into another problem where I can't start the sync. My computer makes the beeping sound (I run on XP) that is normal when you plug something in or take something out, but the sync manager doesn't recognize it. What's more, even when I take it out, the computer is saying that it's still in there, all of which is impeding me from fixing my player. It charges fine, and it says that it's docked. what should I do, oh gurus of Creative Labs wisdom?
PS - I tried all the available USB ports on my computer, front and back.
Okay, I fixed it. For those who have a similar problem, go to your rescue screen (hold down the play button while turning on the player - player must not be connected to computer) and then reformat. I lost everything, but whatever, my computer recognizes the **bleep** thing now, which is more than enough for me.

This is the new sync? that does not sound right. After reinstalling the Firefox on the Windows 7, is the mobile device still syncing successfully?
According to the original plans for the account recovery, try to reset the password from the mobile device and try to add the account one more time after getting a new oauth.

Classic iPod isn't recognized in iTunes / Cannot Sync
My iTunes is up-to-date with 12.1.1 version.
I have a Classic iPod that was working fine until the last 2 updates.
Now it's not recognized and, therefore, won't sync.
Here is what happens:
(1) Open iTunes. It freezes
(2) Finally opens. Plug in Classic iPod. Sometimes icon shows sometimes not. Have to often manually eject (Windows 7 won't let me as 'it's in use').
(3) Once finally showing. Try to Sync.
(4) Get error message stating computer isn't authorized. (Have already deauthorized and reauthorized several times).
(5) Then get message with 2 other UserIds that they need to be authorized or I will lose 40 songs. (Have authorized those as well).
(6) Then get error message that device isn't recognized. I have run diagnostics in iTunes as well, Device isn't recognized.
I am fairly computer savvy, but not a computer expert by any means. I hope that this is an easy fix. I am concerned my iPod has outlived its time with all of these new updates. Also, wondering if there is a driver or something I need for my iPod.

However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

My USBs are plugging in straight into the laptop. All 4 work. Just today, I synced my iPod with multiple USB ports. It works for the iPod, but the iPhone won't pop-up. The iPhone does not appear in iTunes as a button anywhere.
I am unable to use another computer for this. I can actually go into iTunes, add file to library, and add photos that way. So, it's recognized by my computer.
This should have been seperated. Basically, I don't have another computer accessible to me to back-up sync on iTunes with.
The last part means in iTunes, I can click "File > Add file to library" and the iPhone is shown as a camera icon. I can click on it and have access to photos. I can add those photos to the iTunes library. That's about as far as the connectivity goes with the iPhone right now. -

hello ,i' ve had this itouch for over 3 years now and the cable finally died so i got a new one and i already had a couple of errors in itunes but i could still sync ; now it isn't recognized by anything (tried 2 computers and my PS3 the systems don't even know it's there) but it still charges up . highly obligedI have the exact problem. My ipod (and now there's two of them!) used to work fine, sync, etc. with this computer. A while back, it stopped recognizing the ipod. I tried all the stuff (the 5r's), checked my usb ports (work with all other devices), different cables, etc. Finally, I got another ipod. Now I've got two perfectly good ipod classics that I can't get music on or off of. grr.
I guess it's something in my computer set up (which is still strange, since, to my knowledge nothing has really changed from when it used to work)...but it my laptop also won't recognize either ipod. so that's two computers that I'll have to take to some expert if I can't figure this out. frustrating! -

I had an iPhone 4 since they came out earlier this year. Just today, I took it into the Apple store for some water damage and got an entirely new phone. Before I went to the Apple store, I synced my old iPhone's data onto my computer. When I first plugged my new phone into my computer, I skipped the initial registration (stupid me). Now I have no way to get my old iPhone's data onto my new phone. I got the link to register the phone online, which I did, but my iPhone still isn't recognizing that it's now registered. My main concern is just getting all of my old contacts, my old phone number, and all my apps onto my new phone. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.Hello Isabel185,

If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let it charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.

Zen nano plus suddenly isn't recognized by WMP 11
Hi there. I have Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit on my PC. And I've had no issues with Windows Media Player recognizing my Zen Nano Plus - until this week. It just isn't. All of a sudden it's only showing as a removeable disk. I can access music files and what not - but I'd really like to be able to sync again. Has anyone experienced this problem?
I did download the new firmware and install it - but still having the issue. However, I did a System Restore Point today to a point to which I had thought I could still sync - and now when I open Windows Media Player it does recognize my device.
Interesting point - my device now has the udpated firmware; because I had updated last week. And AFTER I did the System Restore, and then plugged in my device, it reinstalled the driver and Windows Media Player did recognize it. So I wonder if this has to do with the new firmware installation; although WMP did stop recognizing my device prior to my updating the firmware. (That is what led me to look for the update in the first place)
However, this seems to have fixed my complaint. For the moment. Thank you for your response and suggestion! -

I just got a new macbook and before i had to sync all my photos from my old mac onto a bunch of flash drives and most are on my phone. Ive successfully imported the flash drives and the photos on my camera roll to my new macbook iPhoto but not the other 1,000+. My computer isn't recognizing it maybe because its in 'mac events'. Does anyone know what to do? Please help it would be greatly appreciated especially since i don't have much room left on my iphone anymore. thank you.
You'll need third party software to get the images not on your camera roll. iExplorer is one such app, but there are others. Search on MacUpdate
