Sync issue and lost contacts

My wife and I share an iTunes account. We have never had any problems until now. She hasnt updated her phone in a long time. Her screen shattererd on her 4 and I still had my old one so she switched to mine. When she did, I lost all of my contacts on my 5 and it all reverted to her contacts. (not good by the way because my iphone is also my work phone.) Everytime I try to restore my phone to a previous backup, it comes up and my contacts look normal for about 15 seconds, then my phone automatically reverts back to her contacts. I have tried turning off contacts sync in the settings but it still doesnt help. I have no idea what to do here as I am running out of ideas and I REALLY need all of those numbers back. Any help or tips would be extremely appreciated.

Not sure if this will work for you but this method was developed by another user to all one to restore contacts from a backup while preventing iCloud from overwriting them. If you wife's contacts aren't backed up, do that first using the app My Contacts Backup as this approach will require deleting them from iCloud.
Ensure the device is connected to your local network.
Start the restore from iCloud back up.
Allow the devices settings to restore (watch for the confirmation of completion).
As the apps begin to restore pull the connection to your router WAN port (the one that goes to the telephone point).
Wait for the time out confirmation.
Navigate to settings > iCloud and turn off contact syncing (keep contacts when prompted).
Reconnect the router to the internet and let the restore process complete.
Delete the iCloud contacts from iCloud.com on a computer.
Navigate to settings > iCloud and turn on contact syncing (merge contacts when prompted).

Ive had the annoying problem that some appointments created on the iPhone sync to iCal and some simply dont. I had one this morning, so I thought I would go ahead and do the advanced "Replace information on this iPhone". so i checked the Calendars button. Clicked Sync in iTunes and it not only wiped out my iPhone calendar, but it totally wiped out all of my calendars in iCal. All local and subscribed ones! At this point im stunned and disappointed. Anyone have a similar problem and a solution to recover your calendars?

Application Sync Issue and Load Issue

My newly purchased 16GB phone will no longer launch the free apps I have downloaded. I followed some directions that said to delete them from the phone and then sync from iTunes (after logging off and then back on iTunes). I get the error message:
Some of the applications in your iTunes library, including "...", were not installed on the iphone "..." because you are not authorized for them on this computer.
I have no idea what has happened and I am not finding the solution .

Since the CC app messed up again and yet another reinstall, it is working (sort of, after several sync failures of lrcat) properly, including the menu, all be it very slowly considering the fast upload I have.
As is the setting sync finally.

Try resetting your home screen layout, go to your setting>general>reset home screen layout.

CC application file sync issue and CC App broken menu..

1. File sync from Photoshop CC has stopped working.
Photoshop reports the last sync time and date in edit>sync settings.
However in my Application settings I get the following..
Application settings are synced between many of your favorite desktop applications and Creative Cloud, allowing you to work consistently from any machine. To begin syncing, you will need to open your desktop application and click "Sync Settings Now".
You currently do not have any synced settings.
2. I have missing menu items in the CC app cog menu (I assume as reported on other threads) including "stop syncing", preferences/settings and other blank or greyed out items.
Prior to that I had the also reported dead CC app issue and uninstalled and reinstalled the app, which fixed dead app but left the munu broken.

I set my cRIO from 'DHCP' to 'link local' and lost contact with it.

I set my cRIO from 'DHCP' to 'link local' and lost contact with it.
I changed the setting at the placed labeled "2" to link local only, then I think I hit save at "3". Then poof, I had no network contact with my cRIO.
I tried;
Hitting the reset button
Opening a closing MAX
Going to safe mode
Throwing the Reset IP switch
Power cycling the cRIO
Running cat 5 cable directly from the Host to my target
None of it worked, and I have no contact with my cRIO.
This is what MAX looks like now. How can I fix this?

Note specifically that one option is to read the console out from the target VIA the serial port will a null modem cable during boot and it will indicate what IP the system is using.

Sync Issue with iPhone Contacts and Entourage Contacts

Curious, when I update my contacts from my iPhone 3G I would expect both Entourage Contacts and my MacBook Pro address book to eventually become fully sync'd.
This is not the case...for example I have added a photo to one contact numerous times and it does eventually update my address book contact but at some point this photo is removed. I have sync services enabled in both Entourage and System Preferences but can't figure out where the conflict exists. I have a suspicion that it is Entourage since this - as of yet - has no idea what a MobileMe cloud is.
Any thoughts?

I am having some of the same issues and I think you are right about Entourage. Here is what I did for a temporary fix. I did a export, address archive from my address book, then I imported it back into my address book, overwriting my address in my address book, I now have 217 contacts in both my address book and iPhone. Apple has some issues with syncing and they need to get this fixed.

Problems Syncing Gmail and Verizon Contacts

Since I got this phone, I've been having problems getting it to sync my contacts with gmail and with the Verizon Backup Assistant.
For Gmail, it seems to actually be updating the contacts (both from the .com to the phone and vice versa) but I always have a "sync error" noted under "Sync Contacts" for my main gmail address when I look at the account under "Accounts and Sync". (its a red exclaimation point next to "Sync Contacts" under the account info). Its not really a problem I guess, but the error message bugs me. The full message under "Accounts and Sync" is "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." This message has always been there.
For the Verizon Backup Assistant, I can only seem to get it to sync if I do it from the website for backup assistant (and that only works sometimes). It does not work from the phone when i hit the "back up now" tab in the Verizon Backup Assistant. Also it never has backed up any of my google/gmail contacts. On the few occasions when it has worked, it only backs up those contacts that have the little orange headshot which denotes a verizon contact.
I have spoken with Verizon support twice. They promise they will open a ticket/escalate the issue and call me back, but I never hear another word from them. After a failed attempt, the phone will continue to try to sync to Verizon Backup Assistant and send me repeated messages that it failed. Finally, I just have to shut the app down to stop the notifications.
BTW, I really don't care about the Verizon Backup Assistant, except that it needs to be on and working in order for the "wipe" function to work through the Assurion program if the phone is lost or stolen.
I have made sure that all my contacts have been 'joined' so it should work. Has anyone else had these problems with the Charge?

Had the same issues since I use my Droid for business and personal so I have > 2,000 contacts. The problem is Verizon Backup times out trying to import it all. As the Verizon Technical folks told me,. the Backup Assistant was made for a semi-smart phone like Blackberry where I had no issues in synching the phone since it has half the capabilities and features. These new phones can import 2-3X the data and features so it takes too much time.
First item: Export your Gmail contacts out of Google into a CSV file depending on the operating system you have. I'm on Windows 7 so CSV Windows and save your file to your Desktop.
Next TURN OFF your Synch capabilities on your Charge by going to OPTIONS/ACCOUNTS & SYNC and UNCHECK the Auto-synch box and the Background data boxes.
Next, got to the Verizon website, log-in and Click on My Verizon, then click on Backup Assistant at My Device Tab and import the file into Backup Assistant via the CSV import command that is on the Right side of this page down below where is says IMPORT CONTACTS. Once completed, it may take a while ( with my contact data base about 30 minutes) it should show your contacts on the screen. Log out and go back to your Charge OPTIONS/ACCOUNTS & SYNC and CHECK the Auto-synch box and the Background data boxes back to ON. Over the course of the next 1/2 hour or two, you will see your contacts start showing up depending if you are on 4G or wireless. Also make sure you are synching to your gmail account under Manage Accounts and you have Gmail selected. Since I'm on Outlook Exchange I just use Outlook (Until that time Google lets you imput multiple contacts from the same company instead of one at a time approach) and have GMail turned off.
Not sure about Google, but I know Verizon is using IntelliSync which is the same software Palm used on it's Palm Pilots to synch the data since I have seen it come up as it works really well. So once it has the core data base in there, it will synch all the updates/deletions no problem. I set mine to synch in the late evening since less traffic at that time. Let me know if this solves your problem.

Accidentally deleted exchange account and lost contacts....please help

I have a unique problem and I'm worried that it may not be fixable but hopefully it is. Here is the long detailed explanation.
I was trying to start setup for an outlook account to sync my business emails to my phone (which I never got around to doing) I noticed that under mail/contacts etc. that there was an exchange account.....with it being early in the AM and still in bed I accidentally deleted it. I noticed immedietly after that my texts were coming in with numbers rather than contact names. I don't usually use the start mail (blue with white envelope) I had it archived away.....because I have the gmail app which was much more user friendly. Whoever set up the exchange account must have been at the verizon store when i bought the phone possibly. I did not do this myself. Anyways I have a few more problems that makes this issue worse....for some time now my iCloud has been saying it does not have the appropriate amount of storage......(And I assume is not backing up my contacts) I've never really had to use iCloud before so I think this may not help either. I looked on gmail and only certain contacts....older ones were on there. I went to a verizon store and he helped me re-add my exchange account which im assuming was through my gmail email (Only email I really use) and certain contacts seemed to pop up. After leaving the store I realized that a lot of the newer contacts I've added were still missing......I'm not sure what else I can do to recover these contacts if anything but I am now up for suggestion. This is basically where I'm at right now.....not totally missing everything but missing a good deal. Also would like to get my cloud up and running again so this doesn't happen again. I haven't hooked to iTunes yet but I never really did that regularly so that might not help either. Like I said I am up for any suggestion......maybe a way to look up my exchange account if by chance it wasn't under my gmail email account......Thanks in advance!

Syncing issues and avoiding losing at&t unlimited plan if restore is used

I am suddenly having syncing issues when I try and sync my 3G ipad.
I am not sure what has caused this. I did take advantage of last week's software update. Now, when I turn the ipad on, there is a graphic of a serial cord, and when I do get it to connect with itunes, it urges me to restore
the software.
I was one of the early purchasers of the ipad, and so qualified for the AT&T unlimited flat rate per month plan. I don't want to lose this subscription.
I had an Apple express appt. this morning, but never received the phone call!
I even tried to cancel it online after 30 minutes elapsed, but received the message that the "communication was unavailable!"
I am wondering if anyone with this special plan has gone through the restore process, and if that ended up wiping out your election for the 3G plan,
and caused a hassle for you. I like having this $30/mo plan and don't want
to lose it. Thanks in advance for any advice.

One other person posted that he lost his plan during the update. If you loose your plan all you have to do is call AT&T to get it reinstated. SInce your iPad says connect to iTunes, you have to restore your iPad. You have no other choice.

Sync issue with google contacts.

Just noticed that my contacts had not updated since Jan 2010. After conferring with Motorola did a factory reset. Put everything back in. Contacts were good for a couple of days. Now getting a message problem with sync. However gmail, calendar, facebook and picsa are syncing fine. Just the contacts.
Anyone got any suggestions. I have had the phone since before January without any other issues.
No apps that should interfere with process.

What is the difference. When I click on Contacts it shows the same as My Contacts except that My Contacts shows the groups broken down. Contacts lists alphabetically with the groups to the right and My Contacts lists the groups under it with the contact listings to the right.

Reinstalled icloud control panel for pc and lost contact with contacts and calendar

I downloaded OS5 for my iphone and the new upgrade for my macbook air. Things worked great yesterday with everything pointing to Icloud. I could not open Outlook 2010 this morning. I uninstalled iCloud Control Panel. I got Outlook to open, but it cannot see iCloud and all contacts and calendars are gone and I have no icloud file to point to. How do I reistablish the link?

It stopped working, most probably after the last update of 31st December 2012. I'm not sure though. First time sync works both ways. Calendar items from both iCloud and Outlook appeard in both sides after the first, manual, sync.
All updates from Windows and MS Office are installed (that can also messed everything up btw)

IPhone Sync issue (and album art messed up)

Whenever I sync my iPhone with iTunes, instead of just updating the media I have changed, it will randomly add anywhere between 30 to 300 songs that were already on my iPhone. It doesn't cause any problems with using the iPhone other then the fact that it takes a really long time to sync even when I don't change anything or add new media to sync with the iPhone.
So far I have:
-made sure I have the latest updates of iTunes and all software
-re-set iSync
-done an archive and install
-had a genius appointment at the Genius Bar at the Apple Store and
-they replaced my iPhone
...but my problems still exist. And on top of that, all of the album artwork on the iPhone is jumbled up. It looks fine in cover flow, but when I switch to the normal mode it will be the wrong artwork with the wrong song. My album artwork in itunes is not jumbled up, but all of the artwork for the movies and tv shows I have bought and downloaded from the iTunes Store has disappeared and I can't get it back by searching for album artwork.
So, to recap, my 3 main problems are.
1) iPhone Sync issue
2) Album artwork jumbled up on iPhone
3) TV Show and Movie artwork disappearing on iTunes
If anyone can help your time would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

Original iPad Sync Issues and random artwork

My friend has been using an iPad (first generation) and he recently upgaded the software to iOS5.
Lately, he has been having issues with the software: he cannot sync music to and from his iPad and he is having issues with the synced videos and their artwork.
For example, he has a TV show called "Handy Manny" for his child to watch, but the artwork displayed for the show is irrelevant to the show itself.
Does anyone know what may be the problem and how to correct it?
