Sync key error

after Re-Installing windows 7 i clicked on sync setup from the menu
user name and pass is correct but the sync key shows error
"Wrong Key"
why is that? the key is not generated,... i've changed it the time i created in and used it for over a year now
every time i re-install windows or ff i put it and it's working
so it's not wrong!!!!!!!!!
now what,.. i want my bookmark data and passwords back

Make sure that you are using the exact key without any space at the end.
Unfortunately, if you did change that Key or the one that you have copied is not exactly the one that was used to encrypt your data, you can not recover it and you will need to set up Firefox Sync again.
It's always a good idea to back up your profile before reinstalling the OS. Firefox Sync is not designed as a back-up service.

Getting "incorrect sync key" errors during iPhone setup

First, i tried to "add a device" in the desktop Sunc window.
Entered the simple key that my phone generated, and got a positive confirmation on the desktop.
However, the phone showed a "incorrect sync key" error message, and no connection was made.
Then, i tried it the other way around - through the phone app.
I entered the sync key, connected, and got the "incorrect sync key" error as well. I tried this twice, just to make sure i didn't have a typo anywhere.
Lastly, i generated a NEW sync key in Firefox. I then tried connecting BOTH WAYS all over again, always with the same "incorrect sync key" error appearing on the phone.
It works neither way! Very frustrating...

Resolved itself. I guess they were doing extensive maintenance over at Mozilla ... now it just went through as it should, and my iPhone is added to the list of devices.

Wrong sync key error

i keep getting wrong sync key error after i click finish on "Setup Complete." i have tried resetting the sync key. nothing works.

Sync was an Add-on before the release of FF4 after which it was integrated into the current release, so it may behave differently.
You could maybe consider updating to the current version which is v4.0.1
To do that, click Help | About Firefox | Check For Updates and then "Apply Update".
P.S. I'm off on vacation for a month from today so I won't be able to respond again until mid-July. But I'm sure one of the other guys will be able to takeover if the problem persists.

Error:Sync Key Missing in Replica DB

While I am trying to test my Sync Bo thru Emulator, in the Inbound Worklist (Handler) I am getting the below error message, ' Synchronization key 0000000001 missing in replicaion DB, and 'Return code 1 (UPLOADER)'.

Is it possible to give the steps which had been simulated?
For eg:-
1. order is created
2. Material conf/Time conf is created
3. sync
4. error
One scenario is that (if you are using MAM) if an automatic notification is created in back-end, the above steps give a missing sync key error.

I get an error:"Unable to sync. Your sync key has changed" But I simply type in the old key and it starts woring again

When Firefox starts I get an error : Sync encountered an error. An unknown error has occurred. when I go to sync preferences it says your sync key has changed. When in the update key dialog I simply type the old key it accepts it ans again starts syncing as if nothing had happened.

hello, when this is happening after you've already updated firefox with your admin account, try to delete the ''updates'' folder and ''active-update.xml & updates.xml'' within the %localappdata% folder of your restricted account like it is described in http://kb.mozillazine.org/Software_Update#Software_Update_not_working_properly

Sync Key available but Account is gone.

I have my old Sync key for the pre version 29 Firefox Sync.
I believe to have deleted the data associated with it about a week ago. Is there anyway I could restore the data?
It was in error and I don't recall seeing a confirmation.
The reason I deleted the data was because I thought I lost my key but I had two and didn't try the newer one.
I do know how to download the old version to use the old sync and update to the new one so if there is some way to restore the data I would be very glad.

Try using Portable Firefox 28 to make that attempt to recover your data with the "found" Recovery Key.

Install it to you hard drive, then see if you can connect to that old Sync account to recover your data. If you can recover your data that way, use Help > About Firefox in that version to get it updated to Portable Firefox 33.1. Then you will need to update your Sync account.

I am recommending doing it in that manner because Firefox the password manager was changed drastically a few versions ago, and I'm afraid that if you "go back" with a regular version of Firefox you may not get your passwords back in a usable form or "lose" them when updating to Firefox 33.1. And if you aren't successful you aren't risking messing up your current Firefox installation by messing around with that "go back" so many versions.
If you are successful recovering your Sync data, you can then connect your current installation to that Sync account to get your data into the new version 33.1 - and then just delete the Portable version.

I HAVE A USER ID, A SYNC KEY BUT NO WORKING PASSWORD ; CAN I CANCEL THIS ATTEMPT AND START OVER again.

i followed all the directions e ,mailed to me ,but when i tried to sync my iphone the error message said incorrect password. I then asked for a second set of instructions and redoubled my efforts and still no sucess i tried to reset tghe password but I don't have a sync tab setup under firefox/tools/options. If allowed to cancel the sync key and start over again knowing the pitfalls I have encountered I would be succeswful. i THINK FIREFox is the best system I enjoy using it every day. thankyou

Toggle Documents & Data off then back on then restart your iPad.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
On the iMac open System Preferences > iCloud

I deleted my SYNC Key and now realilze I want it. How do I reinstall it. The Sync Key under options does not work

I deleted the Sync Key, I thought it was just a refresh button and was not working. I have now read more about it, and want ot reinstall it, but when I go from tools>options.Sync, I get:
Incorrect account name or password: Update, reset or unlink
I have tried all three.
I know I made the error, but I don't know how to retrieve it. I have not shut my computer down, but I can;t seem to find it in my history either.

User account – restore missing admin

Thank you, vrapp!!! Your fix worked for me. From what I can tell, I think the history engine was the hang-up... I had 5000 entries to sync and it took quite a while, relatively, compared to a usual sync that only partially worked. (Before, I'd get bookmarks synced and other things, but got an error and the process was over quickly... this took some time to sync up the histories.)

Firefox Sync: "Unexpected error" when signing in, "Forgot Password", or Create account.

I noticed that there was a message that said reconnect to Sync. I clicked on it, and typed in my information, however, it keeps giving me an "Unexpected error" message in a red bar above my the e-mail address field. I've tried other tips, and now my bookmarks and add-ons are gone.
I was able to sign into: https://account.services.mozilla.com/. Please help me as I spent a lot of time and effort on my bookmarks.

hello hutothebert, firefox 29 and above use a new sync login system (https://accounts.firefox.com/) which isn't compatible with the old username/password/sync-key method (https://account.services.mozilla.com/) anymore.
however you could try this "hack" to get a new firefox version to connect to an old sync account:
enter '''about:config''' into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up), right-click somewhere in that page & create a new string preference named '''services.sync.username''' with a value like '''fake'''.
afterwards you should be able to connect to the old account through the firefox options > sync panel. if this worked and you could import your data successfully, please migrate to the new sync afterwards: [[How to update to the new Firefox Sync]]

Sync key missing in replicaion database

Firt of all, the Infos:
1) I´m running on MI 2.5 Sp 009;
2) My BAPI Wrappers are on the MI server and they call transacions in the backend system (R/3 4.6c);
3) I have a SyncBO type S01;
4) My client is AWT version;
5) I have only 3 wrappers : GetList, GetDetail and Modify;
The Problem:
When I call the Functions GetList and GetDetail via the transaction se37 or via the mobile, it works just as expected (return the data). Then When I call the function modify via se37 it works fine but when it is called by the mobile the worklist monitor (merep_mon) show the error "Sync key XXX missing in replicaion DB".
Always when I call the MEREP_EX_REPLIC, it return me the 0 records, but I get the data in the mobile client. I believe that can be a problem in the BAPI wrappers code, so their code is attached to analisys.

What i meant actually is for S01 it doesnot update the RDB when you execute transaction MEREP_EX_REPLIC, instead the replicator is called during each sync and it communicates with the backend only during sync.So it does uses the replicator but only at Sync.So looks like there is some data inconsistency that throws the error "Sync key XXX missing...", this could happen if the SyncBo mapping is changed after the Sync. Try resetting the RDB by executing the Function Module MEREP_RDB_S01_RESET with SCENARIO = <Your SyncBo>.Before that disable the SyncBo for synchronizing and after resetting, reset your mobile device too by Undeploying and deploying the application again.

I have a user getting the error "AirSAMStateMachine.c 2438 4 Sync key invalid, cmd: 4, status:4" when he tries to sync contacts on his 700p. His messages and calendar sync fine, but syncing his contacts does not.

Cannot type existing new Sync key in entry field

I recently changed my Sync key on my desktop, but when I try to type the new Sync key into the appropriate field on the options tab for Sync on my laptop, no keyboard input is accepted. No error messages, but I can tap any key and nothing happens. The keyboard and laptop themselves work fine--in fact, I'm typing the question on the laptop now--but this problem renders Firefox Sync basically useless. If I can't sync across multiple platforms, then there's no point. For that matter, if I reinstall my OS on the desktop, if I can't enter the key, the backup for Firefox info goes away. What was the Firefox Sync dev team thinking?!

I have the same problem. The incoming mail field is grey and will not let me type in it.
Any suggestions?

Hi Pattie.
I spent over 8 hours trying to solve my issue with PSE12 on Win8 and Revel Premium during the last days.
I installed PSE12, converted the old catalogue and started a test account at Revel. About 500 images from my 13000 image libabry went into my Revel storage and I was able to see them on my iPad and iPhone. Looked great.
Once I did this test, I subscribed to Revel Premium, cleaned up my PSE catalogue, deleted the default "Matthiass library" with the 500 images and created a new default library for ALL my images.
Even though the Revel agent reports success, not even one images gets transferred into Revel. When I create new albums on the mobile devices everything sync'd into Revel properly. Just my PSE12+Revel agent on my PC does not work.
Local German support just sent me an email with several issue to check. I took me other 3 hours to go thru the email - but nothing happened.
My guesses:
1. PSE12 and the Windows 8 Revel apps have a conflict
2. My catalogue has a problem
3. I store my catalogue on drive D:
4. Norton Internet Security has a problem with the Revel agent
