Sync Mac Entourage with Windows Exchange 2003

I have to maintain both my mac for personal use and my PC for my job. The calendar on my PC is where most of my meetings are entered and log from business collegues. However I would like to merge my business calendar in Exchange with my personal calendar on my mac via Entourage.
Can this be done? I am not interested in placing my personal calendar in my business calendar. I actually only want it to go one way, business to personal.
Any hope for me in this bi-computer world that I live in?

Just setup an Exchange account in Entourage and move your appointments from one calendar to another.
For specific instructions, search Entourage's built in Help files or post your questiion on Microsoft's own Office:Mac disucssions:

  • Anti-Virus Software Needed @ Work in a Windows/Exchange 2003 Environment?

I'm taking delivery of a new 24" iMac, and will be using it at work in a Windows/Exchange 2003 environment. I'll be using VMWare Fusion, and Win XP Pro 32 bit to run our business-critical applications. Also, until Office for Mac 2007 is released in January, I'll be using Office 2007 (including Outlook 2007) from the Windows partition. I'm the "pioneer" (the first) Mac user at our company and want to get this right. Regarding antivirus sofware (which I've never had to worry about on my home G5):
1.) Do I need it at all?
2.) Do I need to get it for the Windows partition? the OSX partition? both?
3.) If I need anti-virus software for either or both, what is recommended, given my workstation/network setup? will the same product work for both OSX and XP? or do I need separate programs for each?
    Thanks!

For the windows antivirus software I would avoid Norton. I've had problems with every version of it that I've used, both on my own pc and others. I've also had problems with Mcafee. Go with either ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite, Kaspersky Antivirus, or AVG from Grisoft. AVG has caught things that norton doesn't. I use the free version in conjunction with ZoneAlarm on my XP machine, but they have business versions. Zonealarm's firewall works very well. The inbound/outbound program control is hard to beat. Their anti-spyware/adware solution leaves a little to be desired though. For the ultimate antivirus protection on a PC, you really need to run redundant programs.
However for Mac, I can't recommend anything, since I'm not yet a mac user. Not yet.

  • SMB Extremely Slow over VPN With Windows Server 2003

    Hello everyone,
I finally convinced another person at my law firm to switch to a MacBook Pro. In preparation, I am attempting to fix any compatibility problems that would put off this new user. Unfortunately, our IT guy recently switched us to a Sonicwall SSL-VPN 200. I can connect to our server through the VPN client with no problems and I can mount our internal file server, but the connection is incredibly slow. My initial reaction was that it must be a problem with Windows Server 2003 and SMB, but I was previously able to connect to and operate on our VPN through our old Fortinet (ipsec) device with no problems. Simply put, directory switching, file moving, etc. are all now incredibly slow over the VPN. Help!

Full support for SMB signing did not appear until Samba 3.0.2 released in 2004. Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) supports SMB signing. Previous versions require either disabling SMB signing server-side, using a third party SMB client, using the command-line smbclient program, or updating samba yourself.

  • Is J2EE compatible with Windows server 2003?

Is J2EE compatible with Windows server 2003? Whenever I try to install it says its not compatible, and the sun site only mention XP and 2000 Advanced Server.
Does anyone use J2EE on win2k3server? Which version do you use?

Which J2EE version are you trying to install and where did you download it from? J2EE 1.4 SDK should install and run on Windows 2003. At what point in installation exactly are you getting this message?

The music sync is one way - computer to iphone.  The only exception is itunes purchases.  File>Transfer Purchases
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.  Use your backup copy to move everything to your new computer.

ASk in the DW firum and be much more specific. Web page rendering issues are specific to specific versions of browsers and you may simply be using some bad code that messes up your page.

  • Doe's the mac come with windows 7?

Does the MAC come with windows 7?

No. You can run Windows on a Mac in several different ways, but all require that you purchase Windows separately. Apple only supplies the Windows drivers needed to integrate with the Apple hardware.
    Windows on Intel Macs
There are presently several alternatives for running Windows on Intel Macs.
Install the Apple Boot Camp software.  Purchase Windows XP w/Service Pak2, Vista, or Windows 7.  Follow instructions in the Boot Camp documentation on installation of Boot Camp, creating Driver CD, and installing Windows.  Boot Camp enables you to boot the computer into OS X or Windows.
Parallels Desktop for Mac and Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  Parallels is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
VM Fusionand Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  VM Fusion is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
CrossOver which enables running many Windows applications without having to install Windows.  The Windows applications can run concurrently with OS X.
VirtualBox is a new Open Source freeware virtual machine such as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris.  It is not as fully developed for the Mac as Parallels and VM Fusion.
Note that Parallels and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc.  There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization.  The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system. See MacTech.com's Virtualization Benchmarking for comparisons of Boot Camp, Parallels, and VM Fusion. Boot Camp is only available with Leopard or Snow Leopard. Except for Crossover and a couple of similar alternatives like DarWine you must have a valid installer disc for Windows.
You must also have an internal optical drive for installing Windows. Windows cannot be installed from an external optical drive.

  • JVM & HP iPAQ with Windows Mobile 2003 SE

    Hi,
what kind of JVM can I use on HP iPAQ with Windows Mobile 2003 SE. I don't know what configuration should I use, if CLDC or CDC.
    Thanks for replies.

    Hi;
For the configuration i think its CDC, as the ipaqs have a big memory as using CLDC, but for the JVM, i don't know,
if you find the answer plz send it to me at [email protected]
    good luck.

  • IPhone 3Gs won't sync with my Exchange 2003 account. How can it be done??

I'm a school teacher for a charter school. I check my emails at home from:

When I arrive at that page, I type in my username and password.
It is an Exchange 2003 server.

I have tried entering my information over and over again....PLEASE HELP!

  • Syncing iphone calendar with Windows Live Mail

Hi guys - I just upraded to Windows 7 and I'm looking to see if it's possible to sync the calendar with the Windows Live Mail calendar? I'm thinking the only option at this time is MS Outlook, but just thought I'd ask. I searched and read through 3 other similar questions on here but didn't find any answer, hence the new post. Thanks!

    Allan Sampson wrote:
Microsoft copied Google and now supports accessing a Hotmail or Windows Live Mail account as an Exchange account with the iPhone's Mail app. This provides Push access for received messages and for syncing contacts and calendar events over the air with the account on your iPhone.
For syncing calendar events direct with an application on your computer via the iTunes sync process, you need Outlook 2003, 2007, or 2010.
I understand your second statement about the needing Outlook - but I'm trying to reconcile it with your first paragraph - there is support for calendar events over the air between Windows Live and iPhone? So it can be done, just not physically through syncing via iTunes?

  • IPhone conflict with MS Exchange 2003 set up for Blackberries?

My business uses MS Exchange 2003 and it is set up to push e-mail for Blackberries. Some of the employees have gotten iPhones, one with the new 3Gs. They tell me that it is easy to link their phones to the server for email and calenders. My tech people say, no:
    1. No VPN access from Iphone to network
    2. Might be able to get the phone to sync, but only when connected to a PC that is connected to the network, using activesync software.
    3. There is no way to get mail to the phone when offsite. (unless we send all corporate mail to an outside provider)
    4. Solutions to support MAC gear will require another box (server/pc) that is configured as a gateway… testing and config… not quite sure how long it would take, or what licensing/requirements.
    Who is right?

There is a way and it's very nice, took me a few days to get it right. with my method you will be able to u use your webmail just like it's active sync.. I'm not a good explainer but I'll give it a shot!
Go to your web mail service on a pc and log in, in your browser it says something like webmail.(companyname).com...ok now that u got that , on your iPhone make a new exchange account with the following info ^ > put the above webmail.com under the server field , now the rest of the fields have to be exactly right for this to work under email: your company email address, domain: blank , then for user name and password enter just like u would if u were signing in on safari... Boom it's that easy!

  • How to synchronize iPod touch with Microsoft Exchange 2003?

I just bought the iPod touch and would like to synchronize it with my calendar and contacts. I use Outlook 2003 SP3 on PC and it is connect to an exchange-server. I have the latest version of iTunes (v7.4.3.1). When I connect my iPod (v1.1.1) to my computer, I have no problem with synchronizing music, video, pictures or Podcasts. When I look under Devices and Info-tap, I cannot select any contacts, calendar or bookmarks. Under calendar, it says: There is no supported calendar program. I have tried to read all posted threads, but non-helpful. How do I fix this, please help?

Yeah, unfortunately, Apple didn't get compatibility for Exchange 2003 working for OSX (it does for iPhone, but not desktop OSX.)
Me personally I'm on Exchange 2007, but I also use [Google Calendar Sync|http://www.google.com/sync/index.html] to sync Outlook. My Macs and iPad go directly to Google Calendar and the PC use Google Calendar Sync to sync Outlook to Google Calendar. Google Sync only works for Outlook calendar and must be Outlook 2003 or later. (I've used Outlook 2007 and currently Outlook 2010.) Google Calendar is free so this may be an acceptable way to sync, assuming your work PC has internet access and can be left on for the sync app to run.
