Sync mail on iPad with iMac

I have what I believe to be a simple question/request.  I would like to sync the mail messages (sent, received, folders) on my iPad2 to my iMac.  In other words, when I send a message on my iPad, it goes into my sent folder on the iPad.  When I sync my iPad with my iMac, I would like my iMac mail program to reflect all the activity from my iPad (messages sent and received).  I just got off the phone with an Apple support representative who told me that function does not presently exist.  That seems odd to me.  If my messages don't sync between devices such that the two devices do not include messages sent on either or both, that doesn't exactly seem to me like the two device sync at all.  Any help would be appreciated.  I'm currently using a sbcglobal.net account, which I believe is a POP3 account.
Thank you.

It seems apple has removed the info tab in itunes in the iphone page attempting to force mavericks users to rely on icloud. It was a great feature of syncing the mail accounts between the iphone and the mac. I dont know why apple is going around pulling out many such great features that used to make its software more friendly than that of its competitors. If this continues, apple might fall from high up the tree.

  • Sync Firefox on iPad with iMac

I'm having a problem with getting new Firefox (24.0a2 - Aurora) bookmarks onto my iPad. I suppose this is a "sync" problem, but please let me know if I'm wrong.)
I have a number of new bookmarks in a new bookmark folder on my iMac Firefox. My iPad, which uses "vSync-Firefox", doesn't have those bookmarks or that folder, and I haven't found any way to export them from the iMac to the iPad.
    Can anyone help?

  • Syncing Notes on iPad with iMac

When I make a note on my iPad it does not change the existing note on my iMac. When I make a change on my iMac I get a second note on my iPad leaving the original unchanged.
Notes is connected to iCloud on both computers!

OK, in system preferences I unchecked Safari. Then on my iPhone in settings I turned Safari on and low and behold all those goofy bookmarks showed up on my iPhone. So those goofy bookmarks are being stored in iCloud. How can I get those changed?

  • Sync Read mail on iPhone with iMac & MacBook

Which settings do I need to sync my read mail on iPhone with iMac & MacBook Pro?
I tried setting up Microsoft Exchange server but get the message "Unable to verify account information".
    Thank you

GO TO YOUR SETTINGS ON YOUR MAC AND SETTINGS ON YOUR PHONE AND MAKE SURE THAT FOR ONE, YOUR USING SAME ACCOUNT.  AND MAKE SURE YOU THAT YOUR PHONE HAS THE ICLOUD MAIL ACCOUNT LISTED AND TURNED ON.  ON YOUR MAC BE SURE TO ADD THE ICLOUD ACCOUNT.  ALSO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE LATEST AND GRESTEST LION SOFTWARE SO THAT YOU CAN STREAM PHOTOS AND MAIL USING ICLOUD.  IF YOU DONT HAVE LATEST UPDATE IT WILL NOT WORK.

  • I purchased Keynote for my iMac, when I sync my iPad with iMac isn't Keynote suppose to be installed on my iPad?

I purchased Keynote for iMac, when I sync my iPad with iMac isn't Keynote suppose to be installed on my iPad too?

I think that only files are synced, and not applications.
On your iPad, go into app store and download keynote.
It is possible that you have to buy it again though, once for the desktop, once for ios devices.
please let me know if this helped. and if it's incorrect, so i can change it if so.
    Thanks,
    Finally iMac!

You can add your iCloud account to his iPad as a secondary account to his primary account (settings > mail, contacts, calendars) and enable just contacts and calendars.

" how can I sync my iphone to my mac book without losing all the music and pictures on it?"
You cannot.  Copy everything you want form the old computer to the new one, then sync it.
it basically says you have to erase your iphone to sync to a new itunes!
Correct Iphone will sync, or manually manage, with one and only one computer/library at a time. Syncing, or manually managing, to another will indeed erase the current content.

My guess is that you previously synced the iPhone with a different computer in the past. You will probably want to set up Home Sharing.

  • Hi there - do you know if I will be able to sync a new ipad with ios5 with a backup from my now defunct ipad2 ios 4.3.3 ?

Hi there - do you know if I will be able to sync a new ipad with ios5 (or even an ipad 3 if it ever gets released !) with a backup from my now defunct ipad2 ios 4.3.3 ?
    Thanks

You will be able to restore from the backup of the old iPad and then sync all of the other content but you may need to update a bunch of apps in order for them to work with iOS 5 - but yes - you can use that backup.

I have sync'ed my ipad with my new mac book air, but some of the images did not download to the computer.
    I need these pictures!
Iphoto does not see these images.  How can I download them into my computer?
I have tried using a PC to view the iPad as a HD, but it also does not find the images... yet I can visualize them!!!  I need to make sure I do not lose these pictures!!!!  How can I get them into my new computer?

In iOS 7 you cannot transfer photos and videos anymore to or from your iPad as if it were a USB device.
You must sync them using iTunes:

Can I sync my new iPad with my iTunes from the cloud?

Sync what sort of content ? You should be able to keep contacts and bookmarks between the two, but you can't directly copy music or films/tv shows between them - you will either need to sync those via your computer's iTunes, or if they are iTunes purchases and you are in a country where they can be redownloaded then they might show in the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your iPad

  • Can I sync my work iPad with iTunes at home without affecting my work email and contacts?

Does anyone know if I sync my work iPad with my home iTunes account will my work email etc be effected or deleted??
    thanks

You may use your own content purchased through the iTunes stores on any device that you own or that is in your control. So, as long as you are not sharing the iPad 2 with other employees, you can sync it with your home computer. It is a bad idea to sync the iPad to both computers, as each will completely erase what the other computer synced before syncing.

  • Syncing iPad with iMac

I want to sync my ipad with my new  imac in order to copy all my carefuly comleted contacts from imac to ipad. When I connect ipad to imac the info button in itunes on the imac does not exist so I cannot sync. My ipad is synced with my old pc without difficulty.

    Hello, shells hip.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I see you have a new iMac and assume that it is running Mavericks.  With Mavericks the only way to sync information via the Info tab would be to use iCloud.  Here is some information that will walk you through the process of using iCloud.
If you use OS X Mavericks v.10.9 or later, your contacts, calendars, and other info are updated on your computers and iOS devices via iCloud. For more information, see iCloud Help at icloud.com.
