Sync Manager: Change sync fol

Hey all,
I just recently got my Zen and am very happy with it in general. I had the Sync Manager set up to synchronize a certain folder with my player, however, and that folder has now moved to another harddri've. I can's seem to find a way to change this setting. Starting the Sync Manager just finds 0 tracks to synchronize and the path can't be set in settings. I looked for a registry entry that stores the path but couldn't find one. What am I missing?

Click on the Sync Manage icon in the task bar
Choose Player Settings - Creative Zen
Under Settings you will find the folder/directory location. Cheers.

When I ran sync manager for the first time, I had to chose some folders for the program to?search through when it came to finding music, videos and photos. At that time I just chose some random folders. Now I want to change those folders, how can I do that?

Click on the Sync Manage icon in the task bar
Choose Player Settings - Creative Zen

  • Sync Manager Automatic Sync not work

    Hi,
I have a zen vision m with the latest firmware. I'm using WMP beta with zencast and the latest sync manager.
Everything is working great except the automatic sync.
Zencast will download new podcasts fine, but the sync manager will often not be notified properly. I usually just restart the sync manager then it picks up on the changes needed for sync, but it will not automatically sync to the zen. Instead, a windows taskbar notification pops up telling "click here to begin sync".
I have the Sync Manager configured for Automatic Sync (prefrences, Automatic sync is checked), but it doesn't seem to work.
Am I missing something? Can the Sync Manager be configured to automatically sync my zencasts when I dock? Is there a conflict with having WMP setup for sync too?
    -beau

No, i haven't. I just decided to li've with having to sync zencast manually by running sync daily from the taskmgr icon and to use mediamonkey to do my playlists, etc. Media Monkey is actually a quite capable media player.
I may move to a Zune when that comes out for hopefully better software integration (sync) and a bigger screen. -beau

  • Use Sync Manager with Vista Search Fold

    Hi,
I've setup a custom search in Vista based on MP3 tags and I'm trying to setup the Creative Sync Manager to sync with files that are indexed by this search, Sync manager lets me select the search folder as a sync option but then doesnt find any files to sync with.
Anyone tried or have any success with this, or know of any software that might do the trick?
    Thanks in advance,
    Nick

If the sync process hangs on a PIM category, it usually means there is data corruption.
There may be database corruption causing the issue. Click on the following link for the program called DbFixiT. This program has a trial version that you can download and install on your Palm OS device. The trial version will scan for database corruption and then report the corruption. You can then find the records causing the problem and fix them yourself or you can purchase the program and have it automatically fix the records.

  • Problems with Sync Manager &

I previously used Creative Sync manager to sync up my Outlook 2007 Calendar and Contacts from my Vista PC to my new Zen (6GB), which worked fine. However, I did notice that whenever I tried to check the Outlook Data on the Zen using the Zen Media Explorer's "Manage Organizer Data" option, I'd get an error message relating to the PIM manager and it would immediately close.
I therefore tonight chose the clean up tool to remove all my organizer data from the Zen - just in case the data was corrupt. That worked OK, but now whenever I try to run the Sync manager it pops open an error window titled CTSyncU which says "The RPC server is unavailable". If I OK that, the Sync manager shows it has compared files but there are no items Calendar or Contacts items found on my computer (which is rubbish!). The "Sync Now" button is also greyed out, so I can't sync my Outlook data to the Zen anymore. Grr!
    Any suggestions

I got my hopes up when I saw someone had replied to this at last! No nickc7, I've I'd no response to this issue at all, and even though I since installed the latest version of Zen Media Explorer the problem is still there. Oddly, if I format my Zen it let's me sync my contacts first time, but after that any attempts to resync fail. Most frustrating!
Would be nice if someone from Creative would take the time to respond to this bug

  • FIREFOX 35.0 'NEW' SYNC: I'm already signed-in to Sync but when I click on FF Sync/"Manage" in 'Options' I receive a message that my password is incorrect. Why?

    Hi Mozilla support,
My query is twofold but interrelated ... and sorry for the protracted dialogue, in advance :)
    (1) Regarding my Sync "Password" + (2) Strange issue in Options/'Sync'/"Manage
Set out below is my 'issue'.
Perhaps you can clarify what is going on here for me and help me to stop this strange occurrence.
I've used firefox since 3.5 and love it.
I now have Firefox 35 on Windows 8 (64-bit) with the 'new' Sync successfully set-up on a newish HP Desktop computer (Envy 23).
While my 'issue' doesn't cause a huge problem, it IS a source of unnecessary frustration & confusion.
If possible I'd like to eliminate that unnecessary stress and enjoy using FF again.
Additionally, I thought this peculiar 'issue' may be an indication of something else amiss in my FF Sync or my FF settings.
    Here is the scenario:-
At the moment, I'm signed in to Firefox "Sync" and it IS definitely syncing successfully - the 'circular arrows' spin around & tell me when it was last synced, so I know that's okay.
However, after the last update (to 35.0), I had to "reconnect" sync because it has "disconnected" .
I had terrible trouble signing back in, even though I was using the exact same password I had been using prior to the update.
After several failed attempts to sign in and FF repeatedly telling me I was using the 'incorrect' password, I closed the browser down & restarting FF 35.
FF had somehow 'signed me in' automatically - with the same password I thought was correct or not, I don't know.
Anyway, after all the trouble signing-in I not only felt dubious that all the data WAS syncing, I wanted to take a closer look.
But also I needed to check which password was being used for Sync, when FF signed me in (after the update & restart).
To double-check sync was working properly, I went into - "Options"/Firefox Sync/"Manage" - and was told that I needed to (quote): "Sign in, Continue to Firefox Sync".
I thought it was strange as only a couple of minutes before that, FF had already signed me in & sync seemed to be working. (the circular arrows were spinning)
Not knowing what was going on, I did as suggested by FF and entered my User-name & Password (for a second time).
I was then informed my password was 'incorrect' (please see uploaded/attached image).
I found this odd, considering this 'message' came up even though FF itself had signed me in to Sync after the update to 35 & restart of the browser.
What is confusing to me is the mixed-messages I'm receiving from FF.
FF must have signed me in to Sync using the very same Password that I've used since the 'new' sync was set-up & had been using for some time, but was now informing me in - 'Options/Sync/"Manage" - that the password was incorrect.
Although I am, at this moment, signed in to sync & it is working, I'm utterly confused as to what is or isn't the correct Password.
*If it can be avoided, I don't want to change it because I've saved it in so many places in PC, for future reference.*
Can I 're-save' the same password for Sync again, so that I can be sure that it's correct?
Also, for me, this strange behaviour by FF sync is an unnecessary source of angst and would love you to tell me what is going on or how to fix it please?

    # Yes, if you go to accounts.firefox.org, sign out, you will now be signed out.
    # Sign back in, and you will be asked to save the password you entered.
    # This will save the password and autocomplete if you have this option turned on.
I am not exactly sure why the menu did not detect the password change or if it was stored incorrectly after you changed it? But after storing the correct password you can manage any duplicate passwords in the password manager.[[Password manager - Remember, delete and change saved passwords in Firefox]]

  • I'm trying to add my Linux netbook to my sync account but both my windows computers will not show the "Add Device" button in any of the sync management screens

I'm trying a new Linux build on a net book that I use for playing with non windows OS. In the process of setting up the fresh OS install I wanted in get my Firefox account set up to that I didn't have to spend lots of time working on that one thing. I'm no stranger to the browser sync and have attached several of my computers and tablets with a number of different OS to the account with little trouble including the Firefox of the previous Linux build that was on the net book. The problem now is that on both of my to main computers, a windows 7 desktop and a windows 8.1 tablet, both running the latest Firefox, I am unable to find the "add device" button in any of the sync management screens. This includes the browsers built in options screen as well as the Firefox manage account page. The first gives me options for disconnecting the account, going to the manage screen, several check boxes for what can be synced, and the device name. The manage screen, after logging in, only give me options for signing out, changing password, and deleting the account. Any help figuring out why the add device button seem to be missing from both these devices would be greatly appreciated.

Please check your Firefox Installation's version. (can be found by clicking the main menu, either clicking or hovering over the help button, and then clicking about firefox in the sub menu). depending on how long ago you set up sync you may still be using the older sync version. firefox 29 introduced a new (and might i add far less tedious) sync version. see [[How to update to the new Firefox Sync|this Mozilla support article]] for information on upgrading your sync to the new version.

  • Error in sync Manager since installing B1 PL19

    Hi,
since I installed Pl19 for B1, i get this problem in Syncmanager
when the application loads, I get a popup saying
"The procedure entry point MiniDumpWriteDump could not be located in the dynamic link library dbghelp.dll"
also in the log window of sync Manager I then see
"Object reference not set to an instance of an object" and if I click "Try Connection" I get this error (along with the original popup)
SBO Error #127:  - The specified procedure could not be found.
Event log shows this information for that error:
SBO Error #127:  - The specified procedure could not be found.
       at NetPoint.SynchSBO.Synch.SetCompany()
       at NetPoint.SynchSBO.Synch.get_SBOCompany()
       at NetPoint.SynchSBO.Synch.get_Plugins()

       at NetPoint.SynchService.NPSynchService.CycleTimer_Tick(Object sender, ElapsedEventArgs e)
All of the settings for sync are now blank
I have tried this on two machines, and the result is the same, reinstallation of Netpoint sync manager did not change the situation.
The odd thing is that I did a full sync immediatley after upgrading to PL19 and it worked just fine, however the server then was rebooted and since then, I have this problem. DI API has been updated using the version supplied in the PL19 upgrade package.
Netpoint version is 5.9.6, Running on Windows Server 2000 SP4.

    Hi Shawn,
    Thanks for the information.
    Regarding your points
-I originally went with the Synch Manager installed on my SAP Server. However this caused issues with a 3rd party addon (called Amodat) so I moved Netpoint Sync manager to another server, where it worked happily (with the DIAPI installed)
-Since the upgrade to PL19 the problems occurred, specifically when I rebooted the server two days after the upgrade, presumably at this point something got re/un registered and this caused problems.
-The PL19 DIAPI installation, (which also coincidentally killed my Amodat and required me to delete the 680318 folders from my temp directories, there is a sdn note about it somewhere) is, I am sure, the cause of the problem but then again I have removed it fully and installed ONLY the 2004 DIAPI and still I get no joy.
-The regsvr32 test on the SAPbobsCOM dll was used just to verify that the DLL was not being properly registered on the server, other than that I have used the installer to install/remove it at all times.
-My initial concern was that something had changed in the DIAPI for PL19 and that (forward compatibility aside, it doesn't always work!) the Interop dll that shipped with the Netpoint Sync was going to need updating.
-However since I did manage to get the sync Manager running on another machine since I think this is probably an issue for SAP SDK/B1 Support and not Netpoint directly.
Phew. I guess what I'm saying is, I was just hoping that someone elese had the same problem and a handy solution already, I will continue to chase this via normal support channels from a B1 perspective.
So thanks a million to everyone for all your help so far, if you come across anything please post it up here!

  • Matl master not in sync with Change master

    Hi Folks,
I found the matl master is not in sync with change master, we use PDM thru PI to manage matl master and in a matl the MARA-MSTAE was updated thru change number but if i look into the matl master thru CC03 it looks diff then the value in actual matl master MM03. The change number i am displaying thru CC03 is the latest change done in that matl. Pls advice the cause or any SAP notes will resolve.
    Regards
    Ganesh

    HI Ganesh,
Hope you had checked the validity of changes in CC03, and that are not scheduled to be change in future.
what are the latest changes its showing in CC03 and does all of them are not reflecting in MM03....?

  • Sync Manager Not Finding Outlook d

I have a 6GB Zen and Outlook 2003. When I access the Sync Manager and it goes through the part where it is searching for music, pictures, videos, contacts and calendar info, the sync manager does not find my Outlook data to sync with. I'm not sure where to look for help. I've searched online, but all I found was documentation on how to sync, not troubleshooting and their screen prints did not look like my sync manager.
I just bought 2 weeks ago, so maybe their online information is out of date.
I also have to export my data from my work pc and import it in my home pc since I cannot install the Creative software due to security set up, so maybe that is part of the issue. Anyone who has successfully sync'd, I would appreciate the help.

Just wanted to give an update. After a completely unsuccessful attempt with Creative's customer service telephone help, I decided to completely uninstall the software and reinstall it. I carefully double checked the options when reinstalling and noticed mine defaulted to Outlook Express, which I have on my machine but don't use. I changed the default to Outlook and made sure all the proper boxes were marked and it does work now. That would be my recommendation to the others for whom it is not working. Beyond that, you could have other issues.

  • How to sync schema changes?

    Hi everybody,
    my question is:
if I made some changes in application schema on desktop database (e.g. alter table, add constraint or else) how could I sync these changes with mobile schema?
I've tried to re-package application with Packaging Wizard and then run mSync on PDA side, but nothing had changed.
What is the right way to complete the task?
    Best regards,
    Roman.

    Hi
Unfortunately, you cannot rely on republishing for schema evolutions. Behavior is quite odd (for instance, i change column length, it does nothing, and then i add a column, and it works perfectly for both changes).
I've open a TAR on the subject, and was told to use Consolidator API.
If you do not want to use the API, there seems to be a way, but it's pretty uneasy to do (need all your users to have synched at a certain date, need to recreate repository ...); here's a copyand paste of that method (i got it on metalink forum) :
"I manage a mobile schema of 135 tables and I have found that the ONLY reliable way to deploy schema revisions is to drop and recreate my repository. I have spent time on the phone with Oracle regarding a few issues, and the end result is that simply republishing my Mobile app does not work 100% of the time and odd bugs pop up where tables refresh over and over and never get in sync, or some tables never sync up correctly at all, or the structure doesn't update on the PDA. The repository simply gets "out-of-whack" or corrupted.
Furthermore, anytime you make DDL changes to the base backend tables on which your Mobile schema is based, you must republish your application. This is documented, I believe. Republishing the Mobile schema _should_ simply cause your clients to get out of sync and require a full refresh. Your results may vary with 10.0.0.0.x
With my app, I only do maintenance every 90 days or so, so I have all
clients sync by Friday of the weekend of maintenance, and I rebuild my Mobile repositories over the weekend. I do have different customers on different servers so I can do rolling maintenance. It is becoming less acceptable to recreate repositories as our customer base is growing and more users are added to one Mobile server.
If you can get by with a simply republish, by all means do so because if you do recreate the Mobile schema you must recreate users, and the users will require a full database refresh.
    1) Make sure all your users have synched any modified records or they will lose their updates
    2) Configure and activate tracing on the Mobile server
    3) Stop Mobile server
    4) Do your DDL on the backend tables
    5) Restart Mobile server
    6) Republish your JAR file
    7) Try a sync, you should get full refresh. Try a 2nd sync. If you get another full refresh, you are hitting the same bug I've seen and you will then probably either have to log a TAR and provide Oracle with lots of tracing information (which you should have if you
    did step 1) "
    good luck

  • Sync Manager

Every time I open my computer I get the message that Sync Manager is not working. Where can I download a new sync manager to reinstall? I am using Windows Vista SP2. I have both a ZEN MX and a ZEN V Plus.

Oh, Schamm! I've searched for days for a fix for this, and I was so excited when I found your solution. I found the file and changed it to "NO." But when I tried to run iSync, I got the same error. I tried deleting the file and restarting the computer to no avail. In fact, every time I go back to the com.apple.syncserver file, it seems to have reverted back to "YES."
I'm glad your solution has worked for some. I wish it had worked for me. I wouldn't know why, but maybe it's because I have an iMac and everyone else in the discussion has a MacBook? Ah well, I'm not quite ready to reinitialize my hard drive, but I suppose I'm at least looking at reinstalling Snow Leopard. That is unless someone has another suggestion, which I would certainly be willing to consider.

  • Sync Manager Problem - doubling of mu

I am having a problem with Creative Sync Manager.
When I synchronize my music library and playlists from the comuter to the Zen Micro I get a doubling effect of music in the Zen Micro library and playlists.
The problem seems to go in both directions when I synchronize in both directions.
I find a similar problem if I drag and drop a playlist from the computer to Zen Micro or (vice versa.)
I'm not sure but it seems that when playlists and the music library are syncronised the transferred selections are assigned a transfer date and time. If this transfer date/time is different from the original transfer date/time, it appears that the softtware assumes that the selections are different!
Is there some way that I can make the drag & drop and Sync Manager work properly? (I am using Zen Micro Media Explorer 4.00.3)

  • Sync Manager doesn't actually SYNC

Am I correct in discovering that the Sync Manager v6.0x does not actually SYNC MP3 audio files to the Zen 32GB correctly?
I have spent a lot of hours trying to get my PC-based library sync'ed up with the Zen. Discovered earlier that you can add any folders you want when first filling the Zen with music but cannot tell the Sync Manager to use only specific folders there after. Well, that sucks. OK, worked around that limitation by copying only folders I wanted on the ZEN to a separate place on my source dri've and used that as the source for the Zen Sync Manager. So now I have to maintain this secondary library. Moving on....
I then used Media Monkey to make some tag changes to some of the source MP3 files, for example changed the genre and added album art to perhaps 30 files. File dates/times all got changed to reflect the tag changes.
Ran a LEFT TO RIGHT (source to Zen) sync and the Sync Manager discovered these source files were different than the Zen's files. So far, so good. Sync Manager then attempted to copy the files but {SCREEEEECH}? "ERROR: FILE ALREADY EXISTS" and the new file was not copied.
ISN'T THE POINT of the sync supposed to be that changed source files get copied to the ZEN?
What am I missing here? Yes, I have RTFM but I am willing to admit I am wrong if that is the case.
Note - I prefer not to use Media Monkey to sync the Zen because MM cannot maintain the source folder structure. Instead it insists on storing audio files in a genre or other tag-based named folder on the Zen. (Unless I am mistaken here, too.)
    Signed,
Getting very frustrated with Creative Software so far.

Perhaps I need to give up the idea of maintaining the folder structure and look at using MM again. MM actually syncs only the changed files to the Zen the way one would think a sync tool *should* work?
