Sync Manager for Visio

Hi...
just installed the Sync Manager and when i try to syncronize the player in a certain point, without reason given, the software give me an error message and shut down.
Now, i would to format the player but i know that this process will delete all the folders. The question: the folders we're talking about are just those i create, for example, for videos and images?Message Edited by Lostinprofet on 08-23-2006 05:53 PM

I don't understand what you're getting at with your question, but I am having the same issue. When syncing music, I will get an error message, the kind that wants me to send an error report to Microsoft. Then it shuts sync down.
TTT for ya.

  • Using Sync Manager for LabVIEW OI exe & TestStand

We would like to have our LabVIEW Operator Interface executable send data via a TestStand queue to a logging sequence.  The SyncManager API sounds like a slick way to do this because it provides access to TS syncronization objects from other processes outside of TestStand.  I created an experimental sequence to try out the concept.  The sequence creates a queue with a TestStand Queue step, enqueues an item with another TS queue step, then uses ActiveX calls into the SyncManager API to add another item to the queue.  That all works.
When I added a LabVIEW VI to enqueue another item via similar ActiveX calls into the SyncManager API, the VI does not get a valid reference to the queue and so it can't enqueue the item.
I read on the forum that the TS queue name needs to start with * in order to be accessed by separate processes on the same machine.  When I prepend a * on my queue name, the TS queue steps continue to work, but the step that uses an ActiveX call into the SyncManager API to get a reference to the queue returns a null ref so the following ActiveX enqueue step returns an error.  Plus the LabVIEW VI still doesn't get a valid reference to the queue either.
Ideas and suggestions welcome!  The sequence and LabVIEW VI are attached. Using LV and TS 2012, got similar results in 2013SP1 .
    Thanks!

Thank you very much dug9000.  I unchecked the Create Object box in the sequence step adapter settings and disabled the Automation Open node in the VI.  Now the sequence ActiveX steps can get a valid queue ref for a queue named "*TestQueue" and can enqueue an item.  Yay!  The VI gets now gets a valid reference to the queue and can get the numbers of items on the queue.  Yay!  But, I have not been able to get the VI to successfully enqueue an item.  I tried both passing the sequence context and a null sequence context to the IQueue Enqueue method, but no luck either way.  The updated zip file is attached.  More help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Blackberry Desktop Manager for Mac does not recognize any Calendars for syncing

ive installed the blackberry desktop manager for my Macbook and hooked my phone up through the USB port when I started the program and when I go to the calendar section it says "There are no calendars available on this computer for syncing.  Please launch a new iCal and create a new calendar".  How do I fix this?  I have a lot of information on my iCal that I want transferred over to my phone, but it won't recognize the calendar in the program.  Help

I'll try to help...first you did not provide any pertinent information for troubleshooting:  Mac OS, device, device OS...
Now before you do anything go to iCal>File>Export and create an iCal archive (JIC).  The rest is dependent on the OS (as each store iCal data differently)...It is possible that your calendar file is not where it should be.  Try cleaning system and user cache. Restarting your mac and repair permissions.
On the device side, what do you have as the default CICAL?  You could try forget device in the DM or trash the user>username>application support>BlackBerryDesktop folder and start over.
Now do you have more than one calendar?  In the DM how are you setting the sync?  Two Way, All Calendars...to what calendar are you adding on the device?  Under Advanced Settings are you selecting All events and are you Replacing all calendar events on the Blackberry device?  Remember that even if you have multiple calendars in iCal they will sync as one in the BlackBerry.

  • Cannot sync - BB8900 with BB Desktop Manager for Mac

After first downloading Desktop Manager, I was able to sync with my 8900 once.  Now, every time I connect the device (via USB), Desktop Manager opens, attempts to connect to the device, and fails.  Status of the device shows at 'not connected'.
I've followed the sync services set up for Entourage and Mac. I've also uninstalled Desktop Manager and reinstalled, but it didn't resolve it.  I've disabled my password protection from the 8900 as well, and that hasn't worked.
I used PocketMac before, and while there were some issues with data loss and overlap, it worked most of the time.  I have uninstalled PocketMac at this point.
    Thanks for the help.

    Hey Maarten08 and autoca,
I would suggest doing the following:
Uninstall BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac, restart the computer.
    Then perform the following:
On the Mac computer, navigate to Macintosh HD >
    System > Library >
    Extensions.
    Locate the BlackBerryUSB.kext and
    BlackBerryUSBDev.kext files.
Move these two files to the Trash.
    Empty the Trash.
    Restart the Mac computer.
Then go to www.blackberry.com/desktop to re-download BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac.
Install and then hook up the BlackBerry and make sure you have mass storage mode enabled.

I upgraded to Mac OS 10.9 a few months ago.
Up till then I was happily able to sync mac Contacts and Calendar to my Blackberry Curve 9320 via Blackberry's Desktop Manager (for Mac).
Since upgrading the software tells me to that Mac Sync Manager is turned off.  I know it isn't because everything else is syncing.

BlackBerry Desktop Software utilizes Apple's SyncServices technology in order to synchronize Contact, Calendar, Notes, and Tasks information to and from the Mac computer.
BlackBerry Desktop Software synchronizes information with the SyncServices database, which is synchronized with the desktop applications on the Mac computer (for example: Apple Address Book, iCal, Apple Mail, Microsoft Outlook for Mac). BlackBerry Desktop Software does not synchronize directly to or from the desktop applications on the Mac computer.
Mac OS X Mavericks v10.9 and later does not use SyncServices, therefore, it is not possible to synchronize Contact or Calendar information using the BlackBerry Desktop Software on these versions of OS X.
For more information on SyncServices and OS X Mavericks, see the following Apple Support article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5847
Note: BlackBerry Desktop software 2.4 is still supported for use with Mac OS X v10.6, 10.7, and 10.8.

  • Is MS Identity Management for Unix / PW Sync supported in WS 2012 R2

We need to upgrade the AD forest DC servers and the FFL and DFL levels.
The current AD domain is a one-domain forest, with WS 2003 DC servers.
Our target is to install the newest Windows servers (WS 2012 R2) as DC's.
To make the job, we are going to promote new DC's first, then de-promo the old ones, and finally raise the DFL+FFL levels to the newest possible.
However, currently there are the MS Identity Management for Unix / Password Synchronization software in each of the DC's installed. To keep passwords in sync and thus the IDM to work, the software has to be installed to each of the new DC's, too.
    According to MS article
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc731178.aspx
the pw sync can be installed to WS 2012 server.
    My question is that,
    - Can we go forward with WS 2012 R2 DC installation and assume that the pw sync can be used in them, too?
    - Or, do we have to install older DC servers (WS 2012)?
    Br,
    Kari Oikkonen
    Fujitsu Finland

We found the following TechNet article:
    Windows Server 2012 R2 Packages
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn452400.aspx
According to it, the psync package is still there.
One colleague also shortly tested with R2 server by installing it with
    Dism.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:psync /all
command, and the pw sync seemed to install OK.
So, we now are encouraged to install R2 servers for DC and psync.

  • Desktop manager for mac not syncing with calendar

Desktop manager just started to give me a sync error yesterday when syncing the calendar. I receive no error message for the contacts. I use desktop manager for mac. I have never had this issue before. I updated desktop manager yesterday after the sync error but, that did not correct the problem.

    Thanks for the reply yancy.
What error message are you receiving?  Are you only synchronizing to Ical or Entourage?
Also have you attempted to forget the device and the re-setup the synchronization?
To forget the device, go into Device>Forget Device.  Unplug the BlackBerry, plug it back into the Mac.
I look forward to your reply.

  • Deleting past calendar events on sync with desktop manager for mac? How to proceed

I am new to Blackberry desktop manager for mac.  It is all set up and first sync is done without a problem.  Now when I try to sync, I get a message that over 600 of my past calendar items will be deleted if I continue with sync.  I need to keep previous calendar items, is there a way to solve this problem and not delete past events?  I am sorry for asking this question, I am just new and very unsure of what I am doing.  I had used missing sync before, but when my blackberry had to be replaced, new blackberry wouldn't work so I wanted to try desktop manager.  HELP!  Thanks!

I am having the same problem. checked space, had to delete 2 apps. was set to forever, just changed to from 30 days in past to 18 months in future hoping it would make a difference on sync. Still trying to delete 1256 events.

  • Creative Sync Manager weird bug (featur

    Hi,
I'm a new Zen Touch 20GB owner although I've been an avid 3G iPod owner before it died on me some time ago. Anyway, I love my new Zen Touch for what it worth but if only if the bundled software would perform better. Well, first of all, I find Creative MediaSource Organizer to be quite a decent audio player despite the weird 4-panes navigation scheme. I have no problem with it yet though.
However, the accompanying sync plugin/module for my Zen Touch is very disappointing.
Before I start ranting, here are some details:
    Mp3 Player:
    Zen Touch 20GB
    Date of purchase: 0/2/2005
    Firmware: 2.0.05 (PlayForSure)
    Creative MediaSource:
Version 3.30.2 with updated driver for PlayForSure-enabled Zen Touch
Now back to the issue. First, it takes more than 0 seconds to initialise. Loading a big chunk of drivers for all MP3 players Creative have ever produced or what? Second, it doesn't have an option to delete files in my zen player which are not in my PC library. Third, it REFUSES TO REPLACE MP3 files that are already in the player eventhough the files are listed before the syncing procedure. You see, I edit ID3 tags of my music collection all the time so it is natural for me to have my modified ID3 tags to reflect on the files on my Zen Touch as well. OK sure, when I fire up the sync manager, it manages to detect that I have all these files with updated ID3 tags needed to be copied over to my Zen Touch but why in the name of creativity wouldn't it copy the files just like it should do? The files are already in my Zen Touch? Just replace them! I know what I want to do so just replace them! Or at least give me the "Do you want to replace the files?" box with "Yes" or "No" button. Why do I have to go into the directory structure of my zen player and delete the files manually in order to get the latest files copied over?
I hope this issue is fixed soon. Don't give me those "download the freeware NomadSync etc" advices. Why bother releasing the bundled software if it cannot do such a simple job of replacing files already in the player.
p/s: I read the "read before you post" post and I already did some searches in the forum for previously posted posts on the issue above but it seems that I'm the first one to discover it. Or maybe everyone else just doesn't care and decided to suck it up?Message Edited by anatilmizun on -09-2005 02:57 AM

well, I don't mind having to use other program for not-so-common jobs, but this is about replacing/overwriting files that are already in the player. I did mention that the sync manager is smart enough to make a list of files that it thinks should be synced to my zen touch but why won't it copy the files over? Isn't it weird if you sit and think about it's Isn't the real purpose of sync manager to copy files from PC to Zen or vice versa so that both places have the exact set of files? So what if the destination already has the files? The files are different, as detected by sync manager, so it should just overwrite them. It is the basic job the Sync Manager is supposed to do, isn't it's Why should I use another program?
It's like sync manager saying "hey, I think the files X, Y and Z in your MP3 player are outdated so I am going to sync them. WHoaaaa! There are already X, Y and Z in your MP3 player so I'm going to leave them alone" Sense any weirdness or craziness about this hypotethic monologue?Message Edited by anatilmizun on -0-2005 0:09 AM

  • FIREFOX 35.0 'NEW' SYNC: I'm already signed-in to Sync but when I click on FF Sync/"Manage" in 'Options' I receive a message that my password is incorrect. Why?

    Hi Mozilla support,
My query is twofold but interrelated ... and sorry for the protracted dialogue, in advance :)
    (1) Regarding my Sync "Password" + (2) Strange issue in Options/'Sync'/"Manage
Set out below is my 'issue'.
Perhaps you can clarify what is going on here for me and help me to stop this strange occurrence.
I've used firefox since 3.5 and love it.
I now have Firefox 35 on Windows 8 (64-bit) with the 'new' Sync successfully set-up on a newish HP Desktop computer (Envy 23).
While my 'issue' doesn't cause a huge problem, it IS a source of unnecessary frustration & confusion.
If possible I'd like to eliminate that unnecessary stress and enjoy using FF again.
Additionally, I thought this peculiar 'issue' may be an indication of something else amiss in my FF Sync or my FF settings.
    Here is the scenario:-
At the moment, I'm signed in to Firefox "Sync" and it IS definitely syncing successfully - the 'circular arrows' spin around & tell me when it was last synced, so I know that's okay.
However, after the last update (to 35.0), I had to "reconnect" sync because it has "disconnected" .
I had terrible trouble signing back in, even though I was using the exact same password I had been using prior to the update.
After several failed attempts to sign in and FF repeatedly telling me I was using the 'incorrect' password, I closed the browser down & restarting FF 35.
FF had somehow 'signed me in' automatically - with the same password I thought was correct or not, I don't know.
Anyway, after all the trouble signing-in I not only felt dubious that all the data WAS syncing, I wanted to take a closer look.
But also I needed to check which password was being used for Sync, when FF signed me in (after the update & restart).
To double-check sync was working properly, I went into - "Options"/Firefox Sync/"Manage" - and was told that I needed to (quote): "Sign in, Continue to Firefox Sync".
I thought it was strange as only a couple of minutes before that, FF had already signed me in & sync seemed to be working. (the circular arrows were spinning)
Not knowing what was going on, I did as suggested by FF and entered my User-name & Password (for a second time).
I was then informed my password was 'incorrect' (please see uploaded/attached image).
I found this odd, considering this 'message' came up even though FF itself had signed me in to Sync after the update to 35 & restart of the browser.
What is confusing to me is the mixed-messages I'm receiving from FF.
FF must have signed me in to Sync using the very same Password that I've used since the 'new' sync was set-up & had been using for some time, but was now informing me in - 'Options/Sync/"Manage" - that the password was incorrect.
Although I am, at this moment, signed in to sync & it is working, I'm utterly confused as to what is or isn't the correct Password.
*If it can be avoided, I don't want to change it because I've saved it in so many places in PC, for future reference.*
Can I 're-save' the same password for Sync again, so that I can be sure that it's correct?
Also, for me, this strange behaviour by FF sync is an unnecessary source of angst and would love you to tell me what is going on or how to fix it please?

    # Yes, if you go to accounts.firefox.org, sign out, you will now be signed out.
    # Sign back in, and you will be asked to save the password you entered.
    # This will save the password and autocomplete if you have this option turned on.
I am not exactly sure why the menu did not detect the password change or if it was stored incorrectly after you changed it? But after storing the correct password you can manage any duplicate passwords in the password manager.[[Password manager - Remember, delete and change saved passwords in Firefox]]

  • I'm trying to add my Linux netbook to my sync account but both my windows computers will not show the "Add Device" button in any of the sync management screens

I'm trying a new Linux build on a net book that I use for playing with non windows OS. In the process of setting up the fresh OS install I wanted in get my Firefox account set up to that I didn't have to spend lots of time working on that one thing. I'm no stranger to the browser sync and have attached several of my computers and tablets with a number of different OS to the account with little trouble including the Firefox of the previous Linux build that was on the net book. The problem now is that on both of my to main computers, a windows 7 desktop and a windows 8.1 tablet, both running the latest Firefox, I am unable to find the "add device" button in any of the sync management screens. This includes the browsers built in options screen as well as the Firefox manage account page. The first gives me options for disconnecting the account, going to the manage screen, several check boxes for what can be synced, and the device name. The manage screen, after logging in, only give me options for signing out, changing password, and deleting the account. Any help figuring out why the add device button seem to be missing from both these devices would be greatly appreciated.

Please check your Firefox Installation's version. (can be found by clicking the main menu, either clicking or hovering over the help button, and then clicking about firefox in the sub menu). depending on how long ago you set up sync you may still be using the older sync version. firefox 29 introduced a new (and might i add far less tedious) sync version. see [[How to update to the new Firefox Sync|this Mozilla support article]] for information on upgrading your sync to the new version.

  • Zen Sync Manager doesn't work with Windows 7

    I have a Zen 6GB MP3 player, firmware version .2.03_0.03.0.
I recently upgraded my computer from Windows Vista to Windows 7. Sync Manager (looks like version 6.4.8.0, dated 7/7/2007) worked fine with Vista, and it even worked for a few days after I upgraded, but now it does not recognize that there is a player connected.
Zen Media Explorer still works, so I can drag and drop audio files to the Zen, but this is a bit of a pain. More importantly, I need to find a way to sync organizer (Outlook) data.
I have tried running Sync Manager in various compatibility modes (Vista, XP SP3, XP SP2), but it still will not recognize the player. From something I read in another post in this forum, I'm wondering if I need to uninstall Sync Manager and reinstall it in a compatibility mode? All my other applications work fine with Win 7, so I'm not that familiar with how to use compatibility mode properly.
    Thanks!

I tried every which way to solve this problem, and in the end contacted Ctreati've tech support. They advised the following:
"Please be advised that, currently, we do not have Creative Media Explorer (Sync Manager) and firmware updates available for ZEN on Windows 7 OS.
Creative is working constantly on updates for Windows 7 users who are using Creative products. These updates will be deli'vered from time to time on our website. We encourage you to often visit our support site, http://support.creative.com/ and forum page, http://forums.creative.com/ for product updates and announcements."
Frustrating; it looks like a matter of waiting ...
