Sync Manager issues...

I just bought the 32 GB Zen Portable Media Player (Black). I love it for the most part, but...When I go to Sync Manager, two annoying things happen...
. It first starts to look for "MS Outlook Updates", and since I don't have outlook, I get an error message. I have to click OK in order for Synching to proceed.
2. It then brings up a screen where it scans your computer for MP3s. Then after a while, it tells you how many MP3s are on your computer, and let's you choose one option, to Synchronize Now, and that's it. The device will then try to migrate ALL YOUR MP3s TO YOUR DEVICE. In the beginning, I chose "Add Music", and added the entire contents of a couple folders of music from my computer. That was easy. But I've since then added new songs to those folders on my computer, and have also updated some ID3 tags. Why is there no option for me to simply SYNC my folders that I've chosen, and ONLY those? Why does it just start synching my Zen with the entire MP3 collection on my computer?
Any thoughts on these issues?

Hi,
I have reread the entire post and I've got to tell you I missed the most important part.
Windows closes the program and Windows tells you there is a APPCRASH which is why there
is no reference to it in the knowledgebase.
Here is the correct forum: Microsoft Windows Vista Support
We will be glad to work with you on the Blackberry program side, this is a Vista error.
There are also many references to it on Google.
Let us know how it goes!
Thanks,

  • Creative Sync Manager weird bug (featur

    Hi,
I'm a new Zen Touch 20GB owner although I've been an avid 3G iPod owner before it died on me some time ago. Anyway, I love my new Zen Touch for what it worth but if only if the bundled software would perform better. Well, first of all, I find Creative MediaSource Organizer to be quite a decent audio player despite the weird 4-panes navigation scheme. I have no problem with it yet though.
However, the accompanying sync plugin/module for my Zen Touch is very disappointing.
Before I start ranting, here are some details:
    Mp3 Player:
    Zen Touch 20GB
    Date of purchase: 0/2/2005
    Firmware: 2.0.05 (PlayForSure)
    Creative MediaSource:
Version 3.30.2 with updated driver for PlayForSure-enabled Zen Touch
Now back to the issue. First, it takes more than 0 seconds to initialise. Loading a big chunk of drivers for all MP3 players Creative have ever produced or what? Second, it doesn't have an option to delete files in my zen player which are not in my PC library. Third, it REFUSES TO REPLACE MP3 files that are already in the player eventhough the files are listed before the syncing procedure. You see, I edit ID3 tags of my music collection all the time so it is natural for me to have my modified ID3 tags to reflect on the files on my Zen Touch as well. OK sure, when I fire up the sync manager, it manages to detect that I have all these files with updated ID3 tags needed to be copied over to my Zen Touch but why in the name of creativity wouldn't it copy the files just like it should do? The files are already in my Zen Touch? Just replace them! I know what I want to do so just replace them! Or at least give me the "Do you want to replace the files?" box with "Yes" or "No" button. Why do I have to go into the directory structure of my zen player and delete the files manually in order to get the latest files copied over?
I hope this issue is fixed soon. Don't give me those "download the freeware NomadSync etc" advices. Why bother releasing the bundled software if it cannot do such a simple job of replacing files already in the player.
p/s: I read the "read before you post" post and I already did some searches in the forum for previously posted posts on the issue above but it seems that I'm the first one to discover it. Or maybe everyone else just doesn't care and decided to suck it up?Message Edited by anatilmizun on -09-2005 02:57 AM

well, I don't mind having to use other program for not-so-common jobs, but this is about replacing/overwriting files that are already in the player. I did mention that the sync manager is smart enough to make a list of files that it thinks should be synced to my zen touch but why won't it copy the files over? Isn't it weird if you sit and think about it's Isn't the real purpose of sync manager to copy files from PC to Zen or vice versa so that both places have the exact set of files? So what if the destination already has the files? The files are different, as detected by sync manager, so it should just overwrite them. It is the basic job the Sync Manager is supposed to do, isn't it's Why should I use another program?
It's like sync manager saying "hey, I think the files X, Y and Z in your MP3 player are outdated so I am going to sync them. WHoaaaa! There are already X, Y and Z in your MP3 player so I'm going to leave them alone" Sense any weirdness or craziness about this hypotethic monologue?Message Edited by anatilmizun on -0-2005 0:09 AM

  • FIREFOX 35.0 'NEW' SYNC: I'm already signed-in to Sync but when I click on FF Sync/"Manage" in 'Options' I receive a message that my password is incorrect. Why?

    Hi Mozilla support,
My query is twofold but interrelated ... and sorry for the protracted dialogue, in advance :)
    (1) Regarding my Sync "Password" + (2) Strange issue in Options/'Sync'/"Manage
Set out below is my 'issue'.
Perhaps you can clarify what is going on here for me and help me to stop this strange occurrence.
I've used firefox since 3.5 and love it.
I now have Firefox 35 on Windows 8 (64-bit) with the 'new' Sync successfully set-up on a newish HP Desktop computer (Envy 23).
While my 'issue' doesn't cause a huge problem, it IS a source of unnecessary frustration & confusion.
If possible I'd like to eliminate that unnecessary stress and enjoy using FF again.
Additionally, I thought this peculiar 'issue' may be an indication of something else amiss in my FF Sync or my FF settings.
    Here is the scenario:-
At the moment, I'm signed in to Firefox "Sync" and it IS definitely syncing successfully - the 'circular arrows' spin around & tell me when it was last synced, so I know that's okay.
However, after the last update (to 35.0), I had to "reconnect" sync because it has "disconnected" .
I had terrible trouble signing back in, even though I was using the exact same password I had been using prior to the update.
After several failed attempts to sign in and FF repeatedly telling me I was using the 'incorrect' password, I closed the browser down & restarting FF 35.
FF had somehow 'signed me in' automatically - with the same password I thought was correct or not, I don't know.
Anyway, after all the trouble signing-in I not only felt dubious that all the data WAS syncing, I wanted to take a closer look.
But also I needed to check which password was being used for Sync, when FF signed me in (after the update & restart).
To double-check sync was working properly, I went into - "Options"/Firefox Sync/"Manage" - and was told that I needed to (quote): "Sign in, Continue to Firefox Sync".
I thought it was strange as only a couple of minutes before that, FF had already signed me in & sync seemed to be working. (the circular arrows were spinning)
Not knowing what was going on, I did as suggested by FF and entered my User-name & Password (for a second time).
I was then informed my password was 'incorrect' (please see uploaded/attached image).
I found this odd, considering this 'message' came up even though FF itself had signed me in to Sync after the update to 35 & restart of the browser.
What is confusing to me is the mixed-messages I'm receiving from FF.
FF must have signed me in to Sync using the very same Password that I've used since the 'new' sync was set-up & had been using for some time, but was now informing me in - 'Options/Sync/"Manage" - that the password was incorrect.
Although I am, at this moment, signed in to sync & it is working, I'm utterly confused as to what is or isn't the correct Password.
*If it can be avoided, I don't want to change it because I've saved it in so many places in PC, for future reference.*
Can I 're-save' the same password for Sync again, so that I can be sure that it's correct?
Also, for me, this strange behaviour by FF sync is an unnecessary source of angst and would love you to tell me what is going on or how to fix it please?

    # Yes, if you go to accounts.firefox.org, sign out, you will now be signed out.
    # Sign back in, and you will be asked to save the password you entered.
    # This will save the password and autocomplete if you have this option turned on.
I am not exactly sure why the menu did not detect the password change or if it was stored incorrectly after you changed it? But after storing the correct password you can manage any duplicate passwords in the password manager.[[Password manager - Remember, delete and change saved passwords in Firefox]]

  • Error in sync Manager since installing B1 PL19

    Hi,
since I installed Pl19 for B1, i get this problem in Syncmanager
when the application loads, I get a popup saying
"The procedure entry point MiniDumpWriteDump could not be located in the dynamic link library dbghelp.dll"
also in the log window of sync Manager I then see
"Object reference not set to an instance of an object" and if I click "Try Connection" I get this error (along with the original popup)
SBO Error #127:  - The specified procedure could not be found.
Event log shows this information for that error:
SBO Error #127:  - The specified procedure could not be found.
       at NetPoint.SynchSBO.Synch.SetCompany()
       at NetPoint.SynchSBO.Synch.get_SBOCompany()

       at NetPoint.SynchService.NPSynchService.CycleTimer_Tick(Object sender, ElapsedEventArgs e)
All of the settings for sync are now blank
I have tried this on two machines, and the result is the same, reinstallation of Netpoint sync manager did not change the situation.
The odd thing is that I did a full sync immediatley after upgrading to PL19 and it worked just fine, however the server then was rebooted and since then, I have this problem. DI API has been updated using the version supplied in the PL19 upgrade package.
Netpoint version is 5.9.6, Running on Windows Server 2000 SP4.

    Hi Shawn,
    Thanks for the information.
    Regarding your points
-I originally went with the Synch Manager installed on my SAP Server. However this caused issues with a 3rd party addon (called Amodat) so I moved Netpoint Sync manager to another server, where it worked happily (with the DIAPI installed)
-Since the upgrade to PL19 the problems occurred, specifically when I rebooted the server two days after the upgrade, presumably at this point something got re/un registered and this caused problems.
-The PL19 DIAPI installation, (which also coincidentally killed my Amodat and required me to delete the 680318 folders from my temp directories, there is a sdn note about it somewhere) is, I am sure, the cause of the problem but then again I have removed it fully and installed ONLY the 2004 DIAPI and still I get no joy.
-The regsvr32 test on the SAPbobsCOM dll was used just to verify that the DLL was not being properly registered on the server, other than that I have used the installer to install/remove it at all times.
-My initial concern was that something had changed in the DIAPI for PL19 and that (forward compatibility aside, it doesn't always work!) the Interop dll that shipped with the Netpoint Sync was going to need updating.
-However since I did manage to get the sync Manager running on another machine since I think this is probably an issue for SAP SDK/B1 Support and not Netpoint directly.
Phew. I guess what I'm saying is, I was just hoping that someone elese had the same problem and a handy solution already, I will continue to chase this via normal support channels from a B1 perspective.
So thanks a million to everyone for all your help so far, if you come across anything please post it up here!

  • Sync Manager Not Finding Outlook d

I have a 6GB Zen and Outlook 2003. When I access the Sync Manager and it goes through the part where it is searching for music, pictures, videos, contacts and calendar info, the sync manager does not find my Outlook data to sync with. I'm not sure where to look for help. I've searched online, but all I found was documentation on how to sync, not troubleshooting and their screen prints did not look like my sync manager.
I just bought 2 weeks ago, so maybe their online information is out of date.
I also have to export my data from my work pc and import it in my home pc since I cannot install the Creative software due to security set up, so maybe that is part of the issue. Anyone who has successfully sync'd, I would appreciate the help.

Just wanted to give an update. After a completely unsuccessful attempt with Creative's customer service telephone help, I decided to completely uninstall the software and reinstall it. I carefully double checked the options when reinstalling and noticed mine defaulted to Outlook Express, which I have on my machine but don't use. I changed the default to Outlook and made sure all the proper boxes were marked and it does work now. That would be my recommendation to the others for whom it is not working. Beyond that, you could have other issues.

  • Hot sync manager won't open

For some reason I downloaded Palm desktop 4.1.4 on my windows PC for my M130 and the hot sync manager won't open. My operating system is XP Home. I was wondering if the problem might be that the Palm desktop is too outdated to use on XP. I'm new in the Palm world so I really need some help.

Are you running any kind of Fax software or modem software on this PC?
I found out Windows Media Center has a function that monitors the phone line to your computer.  It will announce the caller ID of any call coming in, if set to do so.
This was causing problems with some Fax software I wanted to run!  When I turned this setting off, the Com port became available.

  • Neither Sync Manager works with my Mi

My Zen Micro is running firmware 2.2.02_0.00.65.
Since I updated to the MTP firmware, the standard Sync Manager does not work. As you can see in the pic below, my Micro is not even listed as a possible device. All I get on both options are My Comp and PC Music Library. The Sync Manager Beta also is whacked, though I don't know if it worked before my switch to MTP. (BTW, did the Sync Manager Beta come with the ZenCast software I installed? I can't remember). Everytime I run it, it shows zero items found. I have it watching my podcast folder for new downloads (as per the "Player Settings" option in the systray, but it never finds anything).
Incidentally, I use iTunes to grab my podcasts and Notmad Explorer to move most files and playlists. I just want a sync app that will monitor my new podcasts and load them up for me. Am I expecting too much? Any recommendations for a 3rd party app that will do this?
Here's what I get with the standard Sync Manager version 5.0.8.0:

    Hello Nash_x91x,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing when syncing music to your iPhone 5.  I recommend resyncing the music to your iPhone for the issue you described.
If you are syncing automatically, resync content to the iPhone by unchecking "Sync Music" and click "Apply."  Then check "Sync Music" and click "Apply" again.  If you do not want to sync your entire library, be sure to select "Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres" and select the content you want to sync:
If you sync manually, delete the music when your iPhone is selected in iTunes and drag new content to your iPhone.
You can find the syncing steps in the following article:

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.

  • Use Sync Manager with Vista Search Fold

    Hi,
I've setup a custom search in Vista based on MP3 tags and I'm trying to setup the Creative Sync Manager to sync with files that are indexed by this search, Sync manager lets me select the search folder as a sync option but then doesnt find any files to sync with.
Anyone tried or have any success with this, or know of any software that might do the trick?
    Thanks in advance,
    Nick

If the sync process hangs on a PIM category, it usually means there is data corruption.
There may be database corruption causing the issue. Click on the following link for the program called DbFixiT. This program has a trial version that you can download and install on your Palm OS device. The trial version will scan for database corruption and then report the corruption. You can then find the records causing the problem and fix them yourself or you can purchase the program and have it automatically fix the records.

  • Sync manager hangs without Outlo

    Hey, folks!
I'm new. Joined up because I'm having a problem and so far Tech Support is not helping.
I have a ZEN Vision:M 30Gb. My comp runs Windows XP. I don't have Outlook. When I try to run the Sync Manager, it opens a dialog to set up Outlook even though I configured the Sync Manager not to synchronize with Outlook. When I click Cancel to get out of the Outlook dialog, I get an alarm box complaining that Outlook couldn't be opened. I click its OK button, and then Sync Manager hangs until I reboot.
Has anybody else experienced this? Is there a good fix? Tech Support suggests I download the newest version of the sync manager, but I can't find it on the downloads page. (there's nothing mentioning it under MP3 Players>ZEN>ZEN Vision:M.)
Thanks in advance for any info/advice!!

I don't understand what you're getting at with your question, but I am having the same issue. When syncing music, I will get an error message, the kind that wants me to send an error report to Microsoft. Then it shuts sync down.

  • Sync Manager (Nomad Version) Download

    Hi,
I wondered where I could download the version of Sync Manager that allows you to sync from MP3 player to MP3 player? It was part of the old Nomad MediaSource software as a standalone executable.
Or, is there anyway to synch from player to player.
My issue is that if the files get exported to my hard dri've then the audio mp3 files return to the original tags and names etc, so my Play Lists lose some of the renamed tracks.
    Thanks for any help.
P.S. just recieved my replacement ZEN X-Fi from Creative...

-Thanks for your reply. That would take a long time , but I assume that it may be the only viable method...
Where can I download the Mediasource installation package with the Sync Manager utility. I think that it was installed with the NOMAD Dukebox 3. I think it was called CTSyncU.exe?
Thanks and come on Creative please!

  • Problems with Sync Manager &

I previously used Creative Sync manager to sync up my Outlook 2007 Calendar and Contacts from my Vista PC to my new Zen (6GB), which worked fine. However, I did notice that whenever I tried to check the Outlook Data on the Zen using the Zen Media Explorer's "Manage Organizer Data" option, I'd get an error message relating to the PIM manager and it would immediately close.
I therefore tonight chose the clean up tool to remove all my organizer data from the Zen - just in case the data was corrupt. That worked OK, but now whenever I try to run the Sync manager it pops open an error window titled CTSyncU which says "The RPC server is unavailable". If I OK that, the Sync manager shows it has compared files but there are no items Calendar or Contacts items found on my computer (which is rubbish!). The "Sync Now" button is also greyed out, so I can't sync my Outlook data to the Zen anymore. Grr!
    Any suggestions

I got my hopes up when I saw someone had replied to this at last! No nickc7, I've I'd no response to this issue at all, and even though I since installed the latest version of Zen Media Explorer the problem is still there. Oddly, if I format my Zen it let's me sync my contacts first time, but after that any attempts to resync fail. Most frustrating!
Would be nice if someone from Creative would take the time to respond to this bug
