Sync messages archive?

Hi ,

Dear Arvind,
Is there a work around to archive synchronous message (error and successful)? We may need it for erro analysis later and we dont want to keep too many messages in our system..
No, unfortunately not. There is no functionality in XI/PI to archive synchronous messages.
Also ... How does async errored messages get archived/deleted? I do not see an option in sxmb_adm for errored aync messages?
Messages in error state cannot be archived. As a pre-requisite for archiving the message must have a final message state; here the error state is considered to be non-final. In order to perform a transition to a final message state you have two options:
- Restart message (for example from SXMB_MONI); this way it might be processed successfully; after message processing is complete the message state becomes final.
- Cancel message manually (for example from SXMB_MONI); this way you explicitely state that you do not want this message to be processed anymore; this step is required because canceling message processing means to violate the EO guarantee given to the sender once the message was accepted by the Integration Server.

  • Message archiving/deletion in PI 7.1

    Hi All,
I'm new to SAP PI. We have newly implemented PI 7.1 in our landscape. We have installed PI in HP UX 23 with oracle as the database.
We have configured the messge archival/deletion in our PI production server. We have allocated a dedicated file system to store the archived messages. Eventhough we have maintained the path of the archival_interface, no messages are archived in this drectory.
We are using synchronous interfaces and while executing the report ( RSXMB_SHOW_REORG_STATUS  ) as per the note 872388, the report says that there are more than 1700 messages to be archived. But no messages are getting archived in the path mention as of now.
I think we have missed out some steps while configuring the archiving process. Can somebody help me with the steps involved in PI integration engine message archival/deletion.
Your timely help will be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Go to transaction "SXMB_ADM" on the ABAP stack of your XI installation. Go to "Integration Engine Configuration" and click on tab "Specific configuration". Check if you have the parameter "LOGGING_SYNC" enabled (It should have a value 1). In case it is not present, please create this entry and have the default value as "1". This will enable you to view all sync messages on sxmb_moni.
    Thanks,

  • Sync messages in table BC_MSG

    Hello experts,
I am trying to read sync messages by querying table BC_MSG using message id.
The query I am running returns empty result.
When I use the same operation in RWB, the message is found.
Does anybody have any idea why this is happening?
    Regards,
    Effi.

Thank you for your fast reply.
I have checked default logs and I get the error:
SQL statement is "DELETE FROM "XI_AF_MSG" WHERE "MSG_ID" = ? AND "DIRECTION" = ?".#5#1654#72000#ORA-01654: unable to extend index SAPXIDDB.SYS_IL0000087335C00020$$ by 128 in tablespace PSAPXIDDB
Tables XI_AF_MSG and XI_AF_MSG_AUDIT are in the same tablespace. So, I can't delete messages in this tables because the tablaspace is full? Is not possible for us to get some extra space inmediately, nor have access to oracle directly.
The others jobs, recover is executing ok but not archiving. Gives us a nullpointer exception. There is any way to get free space in that tablespace?
    Thank youuuuuuuuuuuu

  • Archiving job successful but no messages archived

    Hi guys,
what's wrong? When I check processing statistics, nothing has changed.
    Thank you,
    Olian
BTW:  how to delete these archived messages? I don't want to delete what hasn't been archived, so I just want to be sure. Thanks.

    Hi
Is there a way how to archive messages sent before the job has been scheduled?
    1) --> You have to update all SXMSPMAST records. Field: ITFACTION = ARCH
    Write ABAP-Report!
Please do this just for one record! Then run the archive job an see if the message was archived.
    (First do in your test-system!)
If this works, you can do this with all records!
What do you advise me, how should I schedule delete job so I will not delete any unarchived messages?
    2) --> If you sucessfull archived all messages, you can run your deletion job
(note: sync. messages can not be archived)
is it possible to run archive job every week & delete only once a month? Won't be archived messages archoved twice?
    3) --> No, because after you run the archive job, the messages get ITFACTION = DEL
    Please test first!

  • Can't get firefox sync to work. I keep getting 'Error While Syncing' message

I am on Mac OS X 10.6.4, Snow Leopard on a Mini Mac a year old.
I got a message from X Marks telling me they were shutting down.
As I use my bookmarks every day and have thousands of them all sorted into folders I definitely never want to lose them or lose access to them if my house burns down or my computer is stolen!
I was using Firefox 3.6 and followed X Marks advise and downloaded Firefox Sync...but...won't work....kept giving me the 'Error While Syncing' message after trying to sync for a while. I looked at the blog and tried a few things like resetting password, restarting computer, checking my setting etc., but no deal. So, as the Firefox Sync download page told me that if I was using Firefox 4 beta the feature was built in and I didn't need the download, I then downloaded Firefox 4....which has removed my X Marks option, which was at least viable till after Xmas! and I still have the 'Error While Syncing' message beside the Sync button on my status bar....so now I am completely at a loss. The only thing I can do if I can't fix it up is go back to 3.6 and go on using X Marks while it is still available and pray that you get this sorted out before they dissappear.
I also like to be able to get my updated bookmarks on the other browsers I use, like Chrome and IE, so I would really appreciate it if you would include this cross browser sync capability as soon as you can. I have pledged X Marks that I would even pay for their service to continue as it seems they are so ahead of anyone else in their service and it is a large pain in the you know where that they can't keep going.
Thanks. and I hope you can help. From the blogs it seems that I am not the only one having this problem of getting the Firefox Sync working

    @globaltruth
Thank you for your suggestion. I tried it. Unfortunately, the error message still sits on my statusbar, right after the Firefox Sync image.

  • Sync messages should have higher prioritization in IE than async messages

    Hi there,
does somebody know how I can assign a higher prioritization to sync messages than to async messages in XI 3.0? In case of a bottleneck on the Integration Engine I want to get sync messages processed first. Message prioritization in SXMB_ADMIN does not work because it's ony applicable for async (EO / EOIO) messages.
    Thank you.

UPDATE: Since there doesn't seem to be a solution for this issue let me specify it. What kind of installation can be made in the landscape to separate sync messages physically from async messages?

  • Why is latency for sync messages more than async messages in PI?

    Hi All,
Is it normal thing for Sync messages to have more latency time than async messages in PI. if yes then what is the reason behind it?
Also whats the appropriate latency time in PI?
    Thanks

    Hi XIer,
synchronous message sender need to wait for a response. They cant wait for an eternity, so there must be a timeout, usually 3 minutes or something.
asynchronous message sender do not care (techniquely) about any reaction, the program can go on after sending. Therefore any timeout makes no sense.

  • Message Archiving for the Adapter Engine

    Hi,
we have configured archiving for Integration Engine (SXMB_MONI) messages on the Production XI System. is it necessary to configure Message Archiving for the Adapter Engine also ? in which scenarios archived adapter messages are useful ? are there any other advantages/disadvantages for this(in case of errored messages on the adapter engine) ? Please share any ideas.
    Thanks
    Pavan.

    >>is it necessary to configure Message Archiving for the Adapter Engine also
Not necessary, but depends upon the scenario, lets say you are posting messages to external partner's FTP and there was some issue in connectivity due to which file was not delivered,in this case you need to send the message again.
same thing can happen in inbound messages too.
    >>in which scenarios archived adapter messages are useful ?
i would do this specifically for JDBC sender coz once you pick up the files based upon SQL query, you change the flag so that those values are not picked next time,in this case you can't re-run the old query and get same results.
this also holds for proxies and file too.
    Thanx

  • Message archiving in adapter engine

    Hello Gurus,
We have successfully configured message archiving in the integration engine via all the sap documentation and sdn blogs.
For the archiving in adapter engine, we have followed the documentation as well however our messages are simply not being archived in the adapter engine.
The steps for AE we took are as follows:
    1.  goto DataArchivingService/DAS and created an archive store, home path synch and assigned it to an archive path (the ILM browser connects fine as well)
    2.  created the archiving background job in RWB (both default and a custom one with rules)
The jobs seem to be running fine on our schedule but no messages are being processed.  I am assuming the retention period in AE is the one we have set up in SXMB_ADM for IE.
Is there anything we may have missed?

  • Cannot see sync messages in backend SXI_MONITOR

    Hi
We have a problem with some sync message ScenarioX -> PI -> Backend sometimes taking 2-3 minutes executing. I have cheked performance of PI pipeline steps, and it is the CALL_ADAPTER which is timeconsuming. I have run and debugged the proxy code in backend system and that is performing well.
Question now is how the backend performs.
I have added LOGGING_SYNC to the IE ocnfig, but the messages are not showing in SXI_MONITOR on the backend system.
Any good ideas to what is the problem/solution?
    Thanks
    regards Ole

    HI Ole,
explain you scenario, as you mentioned it is CALLADAPTER which time-consuming , so likewise explain which adapter you are using on receiver and sender side and what is the scenario .. is it synchronous or Asynchronous or Async to Sync Bridge and all information it will help to give you better solution for performance.. as many things depends on adapter you are using on Sender and receiver side as well as data size which is flowing thru interface..
    Thanks,
    Bhupesh

  • Using ccBPM to make XI return a sync message request as the response

    Dear all,
I have a scenario where I need to return a sync message request back as the resonse. This is needed to test an non-SAP interface.
I'm pretty shure I can use the ccBPM to do this, but I can't get it to work. Any pointers on how to set this up would be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!
    /Johan

    Hi,
Yes that is tru that you can use ccBPM.
For reference you can use these 2 blogs to go ahead with your work.

  • Working of Sync Messages?

    Hi All,
I have a question about the working of Sync Messages in XI.
My scenario is file(async) to rfc(sync) to file(async).
    Situation 1)
There are say 10 files. Each file is dropped in the input folder after 2 min interval. The file size may vary , in the sense, the 1st file can be very large and the 2nd one can be very small.
File adapter polls every one min, so it will pick up only one file in one poll in EO mode.
    My question is:
Will XI send the files to the RFC for the 1st file first, wait for the response and then send 2nd file , 3rd,, so on ... or is there no guarantee that the files will be in the order they are picked?
For XI to call in sequence, should i make the file adapter EOIO? or will this work as EO?
    Situation 2)
All the 10 files are available at the same time for the polling file adapter and all of them are picked by By Date. How will XI call the sync RFC now? Again will it send the 1st file picked , wait for response and then send 2nd file etc with EOIO and EO?
    Regards,
    Balaji
Edited by: Balaji M on Nov 12, 2008 3:32 PM

    Hi Balaji
    For situation one
Will XI send the files to the RFC for the 1st file first, wait for the response and then send 2nd file , 3rd,, so on ... or is there no guarantee that the files will be in the order they are picked?
For XI to call in sequence, should i make the file adapter EOIO? or will this work as EO?
AE will pick send the data to IE and will not wait for response as File to RFC is async in nature. File adapter does not support Sync. This applies to any case if you use BPM for File-> RFC-> File or without BPM using Standard modules. Implementing EOIO also it doesn't guarantee the order of picking the file only the order to process is as per queue.
All the 10 files are available at the same time for the polling file adapter and all of them are picked by By Date. How will XI call the sync RFC now? Again will it send the 1st file picked , wait for response and then send 2nd file etc with EOIO and EO?
If you are referring to processing sequence then By Date is OS Time where file adapter will be polling.  here also the behavior is going to be same as per my understanding.
    Thanks

  • Outbound and Abstract Sync message Interface difference

    Hi Experts,
Is there any difference between the input and output messagetype for Outbound/Inbound Synch Message Interface and Abstract Sync Message Interface.
Do we  need to mention the same input and output messagetype for both outbound and Abstract or it should be otherway around?
    Regards
    Sara

---Is there any difference between the input and output messagetype for Outbound/Inbound Synch Message Interface and Abstract Sync Message Interface.
No there is not. U can select any message type irrespective of the type of message interface.
---Do we need to mention the same input and output messagetype for both outbound and Abstract or it should be otherway around?
Yes. As per ur requirement u can specify the same.
