Sync My Photo Stream

A number of older photos on my Mac and iPhone 4S have disappeared from My Photo Stream, but are still on my iPad 3, there are 826 on the iPad, 369 on the phone and only 275 on the Mac.
New photos taken on the iDevices or imported from another camera are added to all three streams and photos deleted from one stream are deleted from the others.
How do I sync the old photos from the iPad with the phone and Mac so the streams are identical please?

Photo Stream does not store the photos for a long time, you have to make sure you import all photos from the photo stream as soon as they appear on your devices, if you want to keep them in the device.
Photo stream photos will be removed from iCloud to make space for newer photos, if they have been in iCloud for a month or if there are 1000 photos.
It is normal that the streams are not identical. It depends an when you activated the streams on each device, and what was currently bufferend in iCloud, when you enabled the stream.

Your iPad will upload the old photos again to the Photo Stream, if you save new copies of the photos to the Camera roll.

Unfortunately not if you use separate ID's for your iCloud accounts.

  • IPhoto 11 on MacPro is not syncing to photo stream. Why?

I have a MacPro with iPhoto 11 and I have made no recent changes, and it is set up to synch automatically. No problems until recently, lately it just won't synch to photo stream, and in the right top corner of iPhoto it says that it is uploading x number of pictures. My phone is synching pics fine, only problem is with iPhoto 11 on the Mac. Any fixes known? Do I need to reset? Thanks for any help, really appreciate the community.

    Try Resetting your Photo Stream
Keep in mind Photo Stream syncs up to 1000 of the latest photos >  New photos on all your devices.

  • Places and faces not syncing with photo stream

    Hello,
I put some of my pictures from my Mac Pro's iPhoto library into Photo Stream with the intention of grabbing them into my MacBook Pro's iPhoto library.
They download and the events are generated but the Faces and Places information did not come along :-(
I'm wondering if this is by design (I sincerely hope not!) or a bug...
    Any thoughts?

    Here's the English version
    http://www.apple.com/icloud/features/photo-stream.html
    It clearly states
when you take a photo on one device, it automatically appears on all your other devices. No syncing. No sending. Your photos are just there. Everywhere you want them.
No mention of Faces and Places there.
    Or
it automatically imports every picture from your Photo Stream into your photo library so you can edit, delete, and share the ones you want.
Again, no mention of Faces and Places here, or anywhere on that page.
    It's not a bug. It's just not a feature.
    Regards
    TD

  • HT1296 how do I  sync photos from my camera roll to iPhoto?  iPhoto seems to only want to sync from photo stream...

how do I  sync photos from my camera roll to iPhoto?
When I go into iphoto, it registers Apple iphone - but the commands "import selected" and "import all" are not operational.

    See:
    iCloud: Photo Stream FAQ

Note: disabling photostream and re-enabling it will result in any photos that are currently in the photostream album on your device, that are older than 30 days old, not being added back.

  • Syncing Shared Photo Stream comments to the website

Running Mountain Lion on a new Mac Mini.
I have a shared Photo Stream that a couple people subscribe to but most see from the Public Website. Not all comments that I enter from iPhoto show up on the website. Especially if I delete an original comment and add a new one. Comments from the subscribers are also not showing up on the website though I see them in iPhoto immediately. I am adding the comments to the Photo Stream pics in iPhoto.
Is there a way to force the Public Website to re-sync to the Stream? Several pictures that the new comments didn't show up on I reloaded to the Stream but that puts them to the beginning or end of the stream, depending on where you're looking from. New pictures, with comments, show up immediately but added comments do not. Cycling the Website OFF and back ON doesn't seem to fix the problem.
Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks.

Photo Stream only uses the file names and what you're changing is the Title, not file name.  To get the title to be the file hame you have to export the photo out of iPhoto via the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu with the option to use the title as the new file name.

  • ICloud sync of photo stream

I have enabled the iCloud backup of my photo stream and I assume that if I take a photo on my iphone, it should appear on my iclod photo stream download folder when in WiFi. This never works. My iphone and my PC is under WiFi and I have taken a photo on my iphone. Waiting for last 1 hour and haven't got the photo to my PC yet.
Tried doing the backup manually under icloud option in settings, but to no avail. I think this whole iOS5 is a complete failure. I think this is the first time such a crappy product has been released.
I think with the demise of Steve Jobs, we can see apple falling soon

Photostream in the cloud only keeps photos from the last 30 days (subject to a 1,000 photo limit). When photostream syncs the photos to your device they will stay there until deleted, which means you may well have more photos in your photostream album on your device than there are in photostream in the cloud.
The consequence of this is that if you turn photostream off and on again on your device (or enable it for the first time), it will only be populated with photos from the last 30 days, which may not be all the photos that were previously in the photostream album on that device.

  • Photo stream does not sync mac OSX mavericks

I have macbook air running mavericks 10.9.2 and when I setup photostream it only synced back for about 2 months, want it to collect all prior photostream photos from my iphone/ipad.  It has stayed just the 2 months data for a few days now so convinced it will never update.  any way to force the update?  May be a bug.  Thoughts?
Also, it seems that the photostream may have been locking up my wifi connection.  After disabling photostream it is working again but with some hangups, but not as percistant as it was before.  Thoughts?

  • How to sync photo stream on ipad

How do I sync my photo stream on ipad

What do you mean sync your Photo Stream?
Photo Stream only works after you enable it on all of your devices. After you turn Photo Stream on, any photos that you take with one of your iDevices will sync to your other iDevices.
If you want to import the Photo Stream Photos to your computer (you don't sync the photos using iTunes) then have a look at this.

Make sure that you go to the very end of the in article to see the section about Photo Stream.

  • My iPad will not sync photo stream from iPhone

My iPad ios7 will not sync my photo stream. It only received 1/4 of my photos. My iPhone ios6 has the correct photo stream. Tried Turing off photo stream on iPad, afraid to turn off photo stream on iPhone as I may lose data. I know the photo stream limit is 1000 so I keep it at 900. iPad is fully updated. iPhone all apps are fully updated. Same Apple ID is signed in across 2 devices for iCloud. Both are backed up on same wifi. Loading iTunes just to back up photo stream seems silly but maybe forced to.     Thank you.

How long are My Photo Stream photos stored in iCloud?
The photos you upload to My Photo Stream are stored in iCloud for 30 days to give your devices plenty of time to connect and download them.

  • HT201317 iPhone 5 and Photo Stream - some photos don't sync

I used my iPhone 5 as my camera on my recent trip to Wales. Most of the photos synced with Photo Stream - for example walking to the castle and leaving the castle are synced and now on Photo Stream, but inside the castle will not sync. Tried turning iPhone off and on, it is charged 100%, good WiFi connection. Same thing happened every day - some photos (the ones I want to have on the iPad) seem to be stuck on the iPhone camera roll. I also turned My Photo Stream off and on again, and when it rebuilt itself, the same photos did not appear in Photo Stream. I'm at a loss as to what to do.

Try taking a new photo on your phone and see if it appears in photo stream on your iPad.  If it does, photo stream is working on your phone.  If you still have some photos in your camera roll that will not upload to your photo stream you may have to create a shared photo stream containing the missing photos and invite yourself to it. This should appear on your iPad.  This article explains how to create a shared photo stream: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmc0cd7e99.

  • IPhoto photo stream time zone/ duplicates issue

I've got a bunch of duplicate photos in my iPhoto library on my Macbook from both manually importing photos from iPhone when connected and from syncing via Photo Stream.
I've since disactivated Photo Stream, but still had duplicate photos on my computer.
I've merged all the albums called "October Photo Stream" with the other imports into one big list sorted by date.
The problem is, I was travelling quite a bit across different time zones, so they're not all really in order. It seems the Photo Stream copy of the photo (the one with the keyword attached) has the time and date as my "home" timezone, not as the "local" timezone as per the time where the photo was taken.
    Is this by design?
I'd now like to remove all the duplicates and was thinking I'd just search for Photo Stream keyword, then select all those pics and delete.... the problem is I'm not sure which ones actually have duplicates as they don't all have duplicates! I really can't figure out how/why some exist as duplicates and others don't... perhaps something to do with when I was/wasn't near a wifi network (applicable while I was travelling but less so for pictures at home as my wifi is always on at home).
This photo stream "feature" is confusing as ****, and don't even get me started on the other iCloud services like docs... could they have designed it any more counter intuitive if they tried?
    Any advice/ assistance appreciated.
Further, if I reactivate photo stream in future, how do I stop this behaviour from happening again?

I've noticed this same problem. I just got back from a trip overseas and the time on all my iPhone photos imported from the photo stream is wrong by two hours (the time difference). It seems a bit stupid to have the photos time stamped with your home time zone, and it means that when I imported the photos from my camera they're all out of order and I need to adjust the time on all the iPhoto photos. That's not particulary hard, it just seems unncessary. I hope someone form Apple notices this and fixes the problem.

  • Photo stream shows constant downloading on iPhone 6.

When going to photos on the iPhone 6, at the bottom of the screen it has been showing "downloading" since last Friday. It has not synced my photo stream from 2 weeks ago I took on my old iPhone. the MBP has them on it. The old iPhone shows them in photo stream also. And the iPad has them on it. The iPhone 6 had downloaded some of them, but there are blank spaces between some of the photos, when I click on a blank space it says "loading" but never does. Any ideas on what I am missing? thanks!

I do not have the possibility to turn my photo stream on, that is the problem. Check the picture i attached.

  • Photo stream not working well

i cannot reset my Photo Stream at iCloud.com, it kept on popping out saying "server error, please try at a later time", etc.  and days ago my iPhone 4 photos did not show any in my iPad 2, but now tonight i saw only on my iPad 2 one photo i took by my iPhone 4 this afternoon, i am at home the whole day in Wi Fi reach, and that is the only thing sync in my Photo Stream.  very frugstrating!!!

i got some solution, i can reset it now, you cannot use Microsoft IE to reset, you have got to use the SAFARI to visit iCloud.com to do the re-setting. but still my problem is not fixed, i still cannot sync thru Photo Stream. i have cancel my account and sign in again, causing a lot of troubles, a lot of contacts merged, and got messed, up, i have one contact with two different names and totall different phone numbers, etc, what a big mess!!
