I want to take my iphone and sync it to a new apple id that i created. I was wondering what the best way to do that was? a restore?

You want your device to be associated with a different apple id? go to settings>store and tap on your apple id. sign out. sign in with your new apple id .

No, there is no way to do that. All your purchased items under an Apple ID are permanently attached to that Apple ID. You will need to contact Apple and see if they can help you.

Need help syncing new apple tv 2g to computer that was connected to apple tv 1g

hi all. i just picked up apple tv 2g. my apple tv 1g died. i cant seem to sync my computer to new 2g as it doesnt appear in itunes devices. i can stream from computer but cant sync photos or music. looking to sync my itunes library to new a2g but no luck. ive already gone into preferences and deleted old apple tv. any thoughts?

The Apple TV 2 is a streaming only device, you can't sync any content to it (other than for the screensaver). You set it up by turning on homesharing in both iTunes (advanced menu) and on the Apple TV (settings/computers), you can select the photos you want it to share from the advanced menu in iTunes.

The ID change won't sync across your devices, you have to change it in your device settings. If you use the ID for purchasing, go to Settings>iTuens & App Stores, tap the ID, sign out, sign back in with the new ID. For FaceTime, do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime, for iMessage do the same thing in Settings>Messages>Send & Receive.
If you use the ID for iCloud, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the new ID. This deletes the account and your iCloud data from your device, but not from iCloud. Provided you are signing back into the same account, your iCloud data will reappear on your device when you sign back in. To avoid losing photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll (if not already there) before deleting the account. To do this, open your my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.

Providing your Apple ID is not a .me or a .Mac address, you can change it with Apple and continue to use your account.
Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
Once who have done this you can then correct it on your mobile device.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
When you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
If however, your Apple ID was a .me or a .Mac address, then you will need to create a new account, follow the instructions above for deleting your account on your mobile device and then tap the "create Apple ID" button to create a new account.

I'll ask my question differently. I have multiple devices and I sync them to my itunes account. For one of my devices, I gave it to a family member. I changed my itunes password and did not give it to the family member who has one of my devices. Will they be able to update applicable apps not having the new password?
Also, if that family member opens their own itunes account and purchase apps and sync the phone, will they lose all the apps that was purchased from my itunes account?

No.
Content bought using one Apple ID cannot be merged or transferred to another Apple ID.
All content is forever tied to the Apple ID used to obtain them.

Can I sync my new Apple ID account to a shared Itunes

Basically I used to share an Itunes and Icloud account with my dad. I got a new Iphone 4S and after some problems regarding music syncing (solved) everything seemed to be fine. My dad now has got a new Iphone 4S (Only a couple of days after me) and when he synced his phone to Itunes itunes recognised his phone as mine. He then got all my pictures, contacts - his phone was basically a replica of mine. His phone is in the process of restoring though we have not chosen an Icloud account to connect his phone to because we believe that is were the problems have come from, so we have left it for now, not restored just yet.
I created a new Apple ID and made my phone have this different Apple ID, so now our phones have different Apple IDs.
What I am asking is: can I connect my phone (with a new apple ID) to the Itunes that my dad and I shared with the other Apple Id that he still has?
If you need more details do ask as it is a bit of a strange situation. What I am wary of is me connecting my Iphone to Itunes and because my Iphone now has a different ID it will mess Itunes up or something.

No you do not have to sign in/out every time.
Sign in with the account you want to use. Store > Sign In.
Then authorize the computer for both accounts. Store > Authorize Computer.
You will still have complete access to the content purchased under both accounts but will only be acquiring content going forward with the account that is signed in.
All of this is done in iTunes on the computer and has nothing to do with the iPhone.
On the iPhone, you simply sign in with the account you want to use. Settings > Store > Sign In.

How do i sync my iPhone to a new macbook pro and start a new apple ID?

Ok, so I just go a new macbook pro for college, and what I am trying to do is sync my iphone with my new computer and get all my music etc onto the new mac. But i also want to start a new apple ID. I previously have had my iphone synced on the family's imac under the family apple id. Now i want to sync that iphone onto my computer and also start my own apple ID linked to my iphone and computer.
I can't figure out how to do this without having to reset the iphone.
( I already created the new ID)

All content bought/downloaded from iTunes is tied to the account that downloaded it and it can't be transferred to a different account - so you will need to authorise your old account on that computer if you want to transfer its purchases over.

When I updated to ios 5 I was forced to create a new Apple ID. Now my iTunes sync does not work properly. Why did it do this and is there a way to fix it?

I already had an iTunes account when I pushed the iPhone. After upgrading the OS to 5.0.1, I kept receiving an error message saying that my AppleID was invalid, even though it worked perfectly within iTunes on my PC. It seemed to want my email address as my "new" AppleID so I entered that, but it created a second ID. It seems my cloud account and the "phone" iTunes is attached to the newer ID and my "PC" iTunes account is attached to the older ID.
Now, when I try to sync iTunes, I don't see all of the songs I purchased, some sync and others appear to sync but are grayed out with the sync icon next to the title. The songs are still on my phone, but not in my iTunes library.
Is there any way to fix this and consolidate the accounts? Also, why did the upgrade force me to create a new AppleID? I haven't upgraded to the 4 or 5 phone because I'm afraid this is going to happen again and I'll have a third AppleID to contend with.

There is no way to consolidate iTunes accounts.
Setting up an iPhone has never required creation of a new Apple ID.
You've apparently purchased content with both Apple ID's. Sign into the device with the correct Apple ID and sync the content.

The Apple TV (with the exception of the Apple TV 1) does not sync, it streams everything from your library on your computer or from the internet.

You can search within your music folder on your pc, or within documents folder for a music folder.

If the music was purchased from the itunes store, you can also download it directly from there to the ipad.

Sorry, I did not mean to imply that security was non-existant or horrible, just it is online, so no absolutes.
iCloud is really not useful, IMO, for collaborating as only you or your AppleID enabled devices can access the files.
I have multiple online storage accounts with the common free services, but my most used is www.box.net. Many document apps will readily support it, and even if one does not, you can use the box.net app itself to access files, then open them in the app usually. And you can share your online folders, with reasonable controls on access to keep control of who can see (and upload or download) what.
A lot of people I know use dropbox as well, but they are usually using paid accounts (often their company sets one up for them to use to exchange files with clients) and I don't know how much better is the security on a paid dropbox account versus a free one. I suspect the free ones are on a par with box.net.
You could also use add security by using some sort of PGP or other encryption tools to encrypt files put up on the shared folder(s). You'd exchange public keys with your colleagues so they could decrypt those files once they download them. That may be overkill for many peoples needs though.
Another option, if you have an online hosting account, is to get one that offers SFTP access and use that for sharing files (the downside of that is having to distribute the password to colleagues, so you could loose control of it if one of them is careless or thoughtless with it). It seems more and more document-type apps for iOS are supporting generic FTP and SFTP as well as the popular free online storage solutions.
