Sync new iPhone 4 with old iPhone 4 settings?

I just received a replacement iPhone 4. When I plug it into iTunes to restore to the settings of my previous iPhone 4, the only options that I can restore it to are my old iPod touches which I haven't used since August. Help!

  • Office 365 DIRSYNC - Sync new AD account with Old Office 365 Account

    Hi Guys,
I've deleted an AD account (let's name it XYZ) that is synced with Office 365. However, I was told that XYZ had joined another dept instead of leaving the company. Therefore, I've recreated another AD account for XYZ and went to the Office 365 Portal to
    recover the deleted mailbox.
However, I wasn't able to re-sync the XYZ AD account with the Office 365 account. Is there anyway to accomplish this? By the way, XYZ do also have an on-premises Exchange 2010 mailbox.
    Thanks.

Good.  I hope it's going well!
If not, you should know you need a recent copy of iTunes on your computer.
You should also check out the iPhone Manual:

Otherwise, if you are looking for help, it would be good if you told us exactly what your issues are.  What do you see?  What happens (or does not happen)?

Has anyone been able to sync new i-phone with a 2004 Volvo XC 90 with dealer installed bluetooth. New software download says it is now discoverable but pairing failed.

Is "NILESH" the name of your computer or perhaps the name of your iPhone? What are you trying to achieve by connecting your iPhone to your PC via Bluetooth?
Only certain Bluetooth profiles are supported by the iPhone, the list of supported profiles is listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647

  • Syncing new iPhone 4 to old Mac (OS X 10.4.11) vs. Gateway with Vista

My MacBook isn't compatible with the new iPhone 4 (haven't been able to successfully upgrade with the disk I got several years ago). However, I do have a Gateway with Vista (which should be compatible).
If I originally sync iPhone to iTunes 9.2 via the Gateway computer, will I be able to sync it to an upgraded Mac at a later point? Or will I be stuck with syncing to the Gateway?
    Thanks for any insight....

You will be able to synch it to an updated Mac later. Just be sure to transfer your iTunes library from your current computer to the new computer.

  • Can't sync new iPhone 4 with iTunes without it locking up iTunes

Got my new iPhone 4 last Friday. They tell me I need to register it and sync it. Didn't get around to trying that until yesterday. Tried most of the day and night last night, using iTunes 9.whatever it was. Kept on locking up iTunes. Tried deleting iTunes, reinstalling it and trying again. Didn't work. Even trying to register the phone made iTunes lock up.
Downloaded iTunes 10 last night. Have the same situation, BUT, it finally did allow me to finally register my phone this afternoon. Thought the problem was solved. Still won't allow me to sync.
Sync starts up (took it off the auto-sync setting) and it says it is going to backup the device - Step 1. Sometimes the progress bar moves 1/4 inch, sometimes 1/2 inch. Sometimes it just has the moving pattern on it. Once or twice, it actually got to Step 2, whatever that is. It always locks up. I've left it running for hours... still won't work.
Was told to delete iTunes, restart, delete trash and reinstall it. Tried that SEVERAL times, still didn't work. Was told to delete some other files (the IT guy was standing beside me because I have NO clue as to what to do with these files) - at least 1 file from the Library and not certain where the others were. That didn't work either. It just keeps on locking up iTunes and quite often, when I check with Force Quit, it shows that iTunes isn't responding. I repaired disk permissions. Didn't work. I unchecked what to sync - just trying to sync Apps now, and it still doesn't work.
All software is up-to-date on both the phone as well as my MBP. I'm at a loss. Anyone have any ideas?
Just tried it again and just plugging in the iPhone caused the beach ball to start spinning. I've GOT to be doing something wrong, but I'm at a loss.
Thanks in advance for your help.

After purchasing a new iPhone 5S I had a problem syncing iTunes with the iPhone...At the Apple Store, the Service Rep backed up my iPhone to iCloud in order to transfer all data from the old phone to the new phone. At home when I tried to sync iTunes with my new iPhone 5S, iTunes would not recognize my new phone. I discovered iTunes was configured to back up data to my Mac hard drive and the iPhone was configured to back up data to iCloud. There was a conflict, subsequently causing iTunes to not recognize my new iPhone 5S. My solution was to delete iCloud from the iPhone. After doing this, iTunes synced with the iPhone with no problems. No data was lost and syncing occurred normally.
I recommend these as possible solutions:
    1) The Apple store will back up your phone using iCloud. Make sure that iTunes is configured to back up to iCloud before you plug your new phone into iTunes for syncing/back-up. If your iTunes is configured to back up data to your hard drive, ensure that the Apple Store does not back up your phone data to iCloud. You will have to back up all iPhone data yourself at home on iTunes.
    2) If they insist on backing up your phone data to iCloud from your old phone to your new phone then, be sure to delete the iCloud account off your new phone before you try to sync your new phone to iTunes.
I used the 2nd solution to solve my syncing issues. Everything works great now. iTunes recognized my new phone and can now sync/back-up data with out problems, error messages or loss of data.
Hope this helps everyone out! I intend to get drunk to relieve all the stress and hopefully restore my sanity as a result of having to solve this problem while having to act as my own Apple support staff!

  • How do I sync new iphone  5S that was set up with iCloud

I just upgraded to a 5S from the 4S.  I backed up my old phone using iCloud and used iCloud in my setup on the new phone.  I still need to sync with iTunes to get my Audiobooks onto the new phone.  Currently my iTunes will automatically sync when I connect my old phone.  What happens when I plug in the new phone?  I really only need the audiobooks, everything else is fine.  Also, how do I tell iTunes I no longer have my old phone?

  • Can't sync new Iphone 5S 64GB with itunes or recognized by laptop - total mistery!

I'm not someone new with these things.
But I must be cursed or something.
    anyway,
ever since unpacking, my laptop wont recognize my new iphone 5S 64GB.
I tried reinstall several times of itunes and assorted apple services and drivers, restarts of win7 64 bit ultimate and iphone too, no luck.
I tried different ports for USB (without other things attached), different sides, different cables - nothing.
All other ipads and iphones we have connect perfectly and are recognized in itunes.
I even had a home 64bit version of win7 on same laptop, and it is recognized there, but I cant do anything with that version since its damaged.
I tried all apple support steps in several documents.
I even tried parallel connected iphones to see how the new one behaves in terms of charging (charging also doesnt work) and I got this:
    1. both iphones start charging on laptop restart.
    2. both stop charging in middle of windows loading.
    3. When windows are loaded, old iphone normaly recharges and is seen in itunes, new one not. New one from the box NEVER had option to trust computer.
I hear a pluging and unpluggin sound when I connect my usb or lightning connector for that new iphone. but nothing further. I tried stopping and restarting services etc....
Looks to me like my iphone remembers my laptop AND win instalation and doesnt want to connect to them.
    Please help someone????

after having done all I can for the past two days, and finaly resorting to posting here (and planning to chat with apple support next),
I restarted windows and hard reset iphone again (like 15th time) and got more sounds of connected disconnected only.
Other new user got me also same issues.
Then I again restarted apple mobile service, reinstalled USB driver and restarted windows and .....
iphone was turned on by the power from turned off state.
USB new search for connected devices gave a fail answer. (not found).
I restarted service again and searched for hardware changes.
and got my iphone safely tucked into my laptop and seen and recharging like a good, lille beawst it really is.
(48 hours spent trying to solve this. Unbelievable.)

  • Trying to sync new iPhone through iCloud

    Hoping somebody can help
I have just got an iPhone6 and I am trying to sync it with iCloud. I have done a recent backup from old phone.
When I try to sync this to the new phone it asks if I want to restore from an iCloud acount and I click this option it then brings up the most recent back ups To select from.... Only problem is they are greyed out as they are asking for the most up-to-date ISO.. So question is how do you get past this stage to upgrade the operating system In settings??
I have ended up clicking to set up a new iPhone as this allowed me to access settings and then I manually typed in my icloud details but only half of my information has synced over and I am missing all of my messages apps notes etc..
has anybody else had this issue and no what to do? Any help would be appreciated thanks a lot

  • Help! Where are my contacts & text messages after syncing new iPhone!

    Hi anyone who can help!
I've just had to replace my iPhone 3G which was faulty, and got my new one today without any problem.
I did all the right things by syncing all my iPhone content last night with iTunes so that I could reload them onto the new one.
But when I plugged in the new one to sync from 'back up', it said the new iphone's software was too old, and that I would first need to
1 - set it up as a new phone
    2- upgrade the software
3 Then sync again using the 'back up' content.
Well I've done the first two but after that I've found it impossible to back up using the original content and now I fear it's synced it again with new material, ie an empty phone basically! What I really need to know is all that content, ie my entire phone book AND text messages thread (going back a year) still retrievable? I've located all my contacts in the address book and I may have to re-enter them manually, which I can live with, but what about the text messages??
Any help at all much appreciated!
    simon

Text messages aren't included with the iTunes sync process except for being included with the iPhone's backup, and the same for contacts unless you are syncing contacts with a supported address book app on your computer, which must be manually selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
Before syncing contacts with the Address Book app on your Mac, enter one contact in the Address Book app on your Mac. This will provide a merge prompt with the first sync for this data, which you want to select.
The same applies to calendar events before the first sync with iCal on your Mac.
If you transfer your iTunes library from your PC to your Mac per the instructions included with this link, no iTunes content on your iPhone will be erased with the first sync with iTunes on your Mac.

  • Syncing new iPhone

If I sync my new iphone to my itunes account that I've used for my old iphone will it completely erase all the content in my itunes from my old iphone? I don't want to loose it.

Prior to syncing your itunes to your new iphone you will want to connect the old iphone to your itunes select the device showing in your itunes program and right click on the device (if using a PC) and go to where it reads 'transfer purchases' once you've done this all purchases made on the device that are not showing up in your itunes library will then transfer to your itunes library. However, IF you have music on your device that was not purchased using itunes and the account you are currently using you will then want to transfer this music to a storage device prior to syncing your new device with your itunes. To answer your question, YES, once you have synced your new device with your itunes library anything that is on the device that is not part of the itunes library will be lost if precautions are not taken to collect the data on the older device.
