Sync Nokia 6263 - get T-Mobile 3G

and read the post by resuna (2nd from the bottom). It works like a charm. You can get to the MetaClasses.plist either by using the terminal, or in the Finder when you get to PhoneModelsSync.phoneplugin you will have to do a cntrl-click and "show package contents" to drill down to the MetaClasses.plist, which you can open and editor (I used TextWrangler).
I did a speed test in the Dallas area (http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest?java=1) and got 327 kb/s down, 97 kb/s up. Not too bad for a phone connection.

Nokia 6263

Hopefully someone can help me out...I just got a new Nokia 6263 (on T-Mobile) but the phone won't work with iSync. I've looked everywhere (Apple's website, Nokia's site and Nova Media) but I can't find a program that will allow me to use iSync or even get my ical events on my phone.
Pleas help if you have any ideas.

My wife had the same problem with her Nokia 6263 (T-Mobile) not working with iSync. Fortunately,
I knew what to do since I modify iSync to synced with my US Cellular Motorola Krzr 1m and Razr 2 phones. First set up phone for bluetooth use, in the system preference folder. Once setup quit iSync if it is running. Hold down the control key while selecting iSync a sub-menu should appear. Click on Show Package Contents and open the following folders in this order:
Contents → Plugins → ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice → Contents → Plugins Now select Nokia-
6133.phoneplugin and duplicate this folder. Change the name of the duplicated to Nokia-6263.phoneplugin...... Now open these folders up Contents → Resources. Now change image file com.nokia.6133.tiff to com.nokia.6263.tiff Next open up MetaClasses.plist with TextEdit
Find and replace every entry for 6133 with 6263 , next find entry 0x04C1 and replace with 0x0014 (which is the new model ID). Save the changes startup iSync and add devices. Finally
okia 6263 should be recognized.

I had this problem before. I like to disable extra services to speed up my computer and I disabled the Apple Mobile Device service and had to re-enable this.
You can do that by going Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services. Once you have gone to the services window, look for Apple Mobile Device and right-click. Select "Properties". There should be some information about the service as well as the label "Startup Type" with a drop-down menu beside it. If it says "disabled", that is your problem; Change the selection to anything except disabled (Automatic is easier and ensures that you can sync as soon as itunes opens).
If this doesn't work, I would look into your anti-virus' settings. Good Luck!

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, does your device connect without that message now?

First sync attempt get "Apple Mobile Device is not started".

When I attempt to connect a new itouch to sync with itunes I get "Apple Mobile Device Service is not started" unable to connect. The computer runs Windows 7 and itunes is up to date and works with 3 other devices (ipad1,nano 5th gen, iphone 4). I also get the same message when i try and connect an old iphone 3. I cannot find anything on this issue. Please advise. I am not currently using icloud with any device.

I am at a new office that uses Outlook (not Outlook Exchange) which does not sync with my mobile... I just got iCloud set up on my PC to sync my contacts, calendar, reminders, etc... The sync worked (not without flaws, but the other issues seem solvable... I think), so that i can now see all my appointments on both my phone and on my PC. The problem I am having is that iCloud moved all of my calendar items from Outlook into iCloud calendar and now when I send out meeting/calendar invites the recipients may accept them, but the meeting does not get added to their calendar. This is a huge problem and may mean that i need to turn off iCloud.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

I am replying to my own post here as I seem to have fixed the problem.
I do have some calendars that are shared. Some of those are shared with users who have time zone support turned on. So i activated time zone support on my iphone, then deleted my icloud subscription. I then signed in to icloud again and voila... problem solved.
It is a weird one as the other calendar views were always fine and when you opened an event that appeared in the wrong day (on list view), the correct date of the event was shown in the information...

Does anyone know how to sync a Nokia 8800 with Mac OsX, in order to get all contacts over to an iPhone.
Is there a free software out there (whyever Nokia doesn´t provide one).

Nokia used to produce Mac versions of the PC Suite software back in the long-gone days of the early Communicator series, but Apple applied pressure for that to stop, because they wanted all Apple users to sync with their own iSync software.
Regretably, Apple is not great at ensuring compatibility with all phones from all manufacturers. For more information, go to http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-and-software/product-support/isync/compatibility-and-download - you will see that the original Nokia 8800 is compatible with iSync but that subsequent versions like 880 Sirocco, 8800 Arte etc. are not yet covered.
iSync itself is made by Apple, and the Nokia site will link to Apple to download it. Nokia does provide some plugins to make some common models work, but I don't think that later 8800 versions are included. It is possible to search for third-party plgins that may solve the issue if your 8800 is not the original model.

Every time I sync my Nokia 6300 the entries I have put on the calendar on the phone originally and which have then synced to iCal get duplicated so that I end up with duplicate entries every time I use iSync

Ok, the same problem occurs when I start my mac not in my local network, but in a network that is connected to the Internet. The WebDAV cal account will be created automatically when Internet is available.
