Sync notes with iCloud

Not sure what the problem is, as I can sync my notes fine, between my iPhone and my laptop. However, the notes are not syncing to my iMac. Any suggestions why this is?

My other apps (reminders, email, calendar) are syncing automatically, and notes used to do that also. iCloud is the default, and I want to continue syncing everything over the air - no periodic manual syncing required.

Yes you are right, thank you, I didn't realize that. So how do I sync my notes then? When I use iTunes to sync Notes, they still don't sync to the Mail app.

My notes aren´t syncing with my Ipad, so I went to Settings, iCloud and the Notes button is Off. I tried to put On but when I pull the button it appears the following message: "Create a free @icloud.com email address to turn on Notes", but I´m already syncing with my gmail account... An iCloud email account is required to sync notes with iCloud. You don't have to use the email account but it must be present on your phone. Just create the account, then go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Mail section) and make sure this is set to your Gmail account. Then just ignore the iCloud email account.

You can't sync contacts on your Mac with iCloud running Snow Leopard (10.6.8). That requires Lion (10.7.5) or higher. If your system can't run this, you'll have to go to turn of contact syncing with iCloud and either start syncing them with iTunes, or use an alternative service such as a Google contacts. You could, for example, go to Settings>iCloud on your phone, turn contacts off, choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted, then set up a Gmail account and sync them as explained here: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/2753077?hl=en.

I have been having syncing issues with icloud notes, contacts, and now icloud email. Does anyone have suggestions?

Just recently, I have been unable to receive icloud email on my iphone and new ipad3. Although, I am a loyal apple consumer, I feel a bit let down. I am a PhD student and used my ipad/icloud email for downloading and reading PDF journal articles. My goal is to eventally buy a MacBook Pro and eliminate some of the syncing issues with icloud by storing my documents on the hard drive. Contacts on my iphone does not sync properly with icloud. I have merged data with facebook contacts, and this merged information appears as I want it to be on icloud.com. But on the iphone, the facebook contacts and the icloud contact appear separately.
I have tried exporting the contacts out of icloud.com, then deleting all contacts on both icloud.com and on the iphone; then importing the vcard back into icloud.com, but the facebook details still appear as a separate contact. It is too time consuming to merge all of my contacts manually What should I do in order for the iphone to display the contacts as it is on icloud.com?

It looked in Mail, which had 5 email accounts set up in it, and for some reason picked the only one that I no longer use because it is for a school that I no longer attend. How can I fix it so that it syncs with the correct email account for notes and calendar? There don't seem to be any settings available other than to check if you want to use the basic features. It also said during the set up that it was setting up 'find my mac' but if I look on the iCloud website there is nothing showing there for finding my mac.
At this point I feel like I wasted my money paying for this supposed upgrade. I got nothing for it but frustration. It even automatically set my security settings to allow only downloads from the Mac store so the first time I went to download something I had to stop what I was doing and go correct settings first. I feel like there should be a security setting to block downloads from the Mac store so I don't accidentally end up clicking the wrong thing and being charged.

iCloud isn't syncing them on your phone. You simply added the email account to your phone and enabled calendar and notes syncing with the email provider, and the calendar and notes appear in the calendar and notes apps on your phone. You can do this with Gmail, Yahoo and other IMAP account. iCloud email is just another IMAP account, but syncs notes with Apple's iCloud server just as Gmail syncs notes and calendars with Google's server.
iCloud didnt' set up a non-iCloud account on your Mac. When you check Mail in System Preferences>iCloud, it only creates an iCloud email account. You can also add other email accounts to your Mac by going to System Preferences>Mail,Contacts,Calendars and clicking on the "+" sign on the bottom of the left sidebar. If you added these other email accounts to your Mac before you upgraded to Mountain Lion, these were simply maintained on your Mac after you upgraded.

It sounds like notes on your devices may have synced when the email account was added, as described here:

Notes are associated with an IMAP email account or iCloud account. To sync Notes, enable Notes for each account in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars or Settings > iCloud.
You can stop syncing notes by tapping Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars or Settings > iCloud, tapping the email address that you added, and switching Notes to the off position.
Additionally, if your husband has backed up his iPhone to iTunes or iCloud, the steps in this article can help with recovering the lost notes from his device:

I have a corporate iphone5 and I need to sync Note with Note in Outlook 2010 on my private PC running W7 .
I tried several times following indications on the site without results.
Would like to avoid icloud.
Can somebody advise?

If you change the default calendar to your Gmail® calendar, are you able to synchronize those appointments? Do you have wireless synchronization enabled for your Gmail® calendar? If so, the wireless synchronization would have to be disabled in your calendar options in order to synchronize via USB cable. This KB article provides more information. Only the calendar that is set as the default on your BlackBerry® Bold™ 9700 smartphone will synchronize with Microsoft® Outlook®. IPad can't sync contacts with iCloud

I need some help.... I have an iMac running Mtn Lion (10.8.2) and an iPad3 (6.0.1) and I'm trying to sync the two in iCloud. Contacts are giving me a headache. I've got the contacts into iCloud so I went to iTunes, clicked on the iPad and went to "info". Thought everything was OK but no contacts (actually there are a couple) on the IPad. Went back to iTunes and clicked on the iPad. went to "info" and now there is no box to check next to "Sync Contacts" and the message in the box says "Your contacts are being synced with you iPad over the air from iCloud" and "Over-the-air sync settings can be changed on your iPad." My contacts are syncing (iPad) with iCloud and I can't figure out to get the check box back so I can choose to sync my contacts. I know there are other threads out there with similar questions but I couldn't find anything that helped me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was sincronizing my iPad by using the INFO Section in iTunes when my iPad was connected by: Info>> Other >> Sync notes with Outlook >> Advanced >> Notes.
What I wanted to do, is pass the notes in my iPad to my computer (Outlook) in order to have a backup of that information. Nevertheless, what the sincronization did was eliminate all the notes that I had in my iPad and incorporate new notes from my computer.
Is there any way to restore my old notes? Is there a "trash" in iTunes were I can find that set of notes?
I do not think I have a backup of my iPad, therefore I cannot use that option. Does any one have any solution for my problem??? I would really appreciate some help.

Not as yet, and the proper answer is for Microsfot to update O2011 for iCloud, they have a statement noting that iCloud is not supported (Mail is) but no timetable for a fix.

I have version 10.9.3 on the iMac, 7.1.1 on iPhone and iPad. The iPhone & iPad sync notes fine. But neither gets the changes I put in the iMac.

I can't sync my devices. The iCloud is turned on for notes on both devices, but the notes are not syncing over. What can I do?

Open notes and tap Accounts. Make sure your notes belong to the iCloud account. If they don't, you'll have to copy and paste the text into new notes created in the iCloud account in order to sync them with iCloud.
