Sync Outlook calender appointment color categories

When I sync my iPhone using iTunes with my Outlook 2007, the colors for the appointment categories don't show up on my iPhone calender. Does anyone have a solution?

There isn't one. Categories do not sync. The only way to color-code events on the iPhone is to have the events in separate calendars (i.e. create multiple calendars in Outlook, and each will have a different color on the iPhone).

Set my outlook calender appointment east cost time for 7am but when i went to the west coast it changed the appointmnet to 4am

You have Time Zone support turned on. 4 AM on the west coast IS 7 AM where you were.  You need to specify the time zone for the appointment if it is different from the one you're in when you create it.

  • Outlook Calender Appointment time is off by 1 hour only when sending appointments to one particular person.

My name is Caleb, I work in IT. I am trying to help a user, Karen, with her Outlook problem. When Karen sends an appointment to her husband Mike via Outlook Calender, he receives it in the wrong time zone.* Mike is also using Outlook. When Karen sends an
appointment to anyone else via Outlook Calender, they receive it in the correct time zone. When Karen sends an appointment via Webmail Calender, there is no issue at all with anyone. All Outlook accounts are running on Outlook 2010. Below is a list of appointments
sent, by what means, and the whether the date came out as correct or not:
From Karens Outlook to Caleb: Success
From Karens Outlook to Mike: Fail (shows as Pacific Time)
From Karens Outlook to Sarah: Success (Sarah is just another user)
From Karens Webmail to Caleb: Success
From Karens Webmail to Mike: Success
From Calebs Webmail to Mike: Success
From Calebs Outlook to Mike: Success
From Amys Outlook to Mike: Success (Amy is just another user)
From the above process of elimination, I have determined that the time zone problem only exists when an appointment is sent from Karen’s Outlook to Mike. I have verified that Karen’s date and time is set up correctly in Webmail, Outlook, as well as
her computer. I have not checked any of Mike’s date and time settings since he’s working at a different company. I’m wondering if the problem is on Mike’s end and not Karen’s. Then again, it works fine when Karen sends the appointment via Webmail, but not
Outlook - which leads me to believe its on Karen's end. Also, Mike did say Karen is the only one he has this problem with. I’m currently trying to get in contact with Mike’s IT person so I can have his date and time professionally checked.
    My Thoughts:
Its as if Karen and Mike's Outlooks are communicating incorrectly, only to each other. Why is Mike receiving ONLY Karen's Outlook Appointments incorrectly? Karen creates the appointment, verifies that the date and time and time zone are
correct before sending, sends the appointment to Mike, and Mike receives it in the wrong time zone. Its as if his Outlook is configured to receive Karen's appointments in a different time zone - but such a setting doesn't even exist... or does it?
*The correct time zone we want is Central Time.

    Hi,
Based on the very logical troubleshooting steps above, the issue tends to be more on Karen's client.
Please check the Time Zone Settings on Karen's computer, I'm not sure what version of Windows she's using, just take Windows 8.1 for example:
Go to Control Panel -> Clock, Language, and Region -> Date and Time -> Change time zone -> Check if Karen has selected "Automatically adjust clock for Daylight Saving Time" option, try to select or unselect this option to send the meeting
request to see if this makes a difference.

  • Sync outlook calender through scalix server????

Can anyone help sync my outlook calender to my iphone. We use Saclix webmail which I read through outlook. Email & contacts syncs fine but calender doesn't.

Thank you.  I tried this but unfortunately it didn't work -- I received a message from TunnelBlick that the computer was unable to connect to the internet after making this change.
Prior to this issue I also was unable to use my wi-fi at all after upgrading to Yosemite - I found a solution online where I deleted some files from the SystemConfiguration folder. Wi-fi works perfectly now but this issue with VPN and Outlook remains.
It seems this Yosemite roll-out has created many, many issues ...

  • Itunes don't sync Outlook calender with IPad/IPhone

When I use Itunes to sync Outlook 2013, installed on Windows 8, with IPad/IPhone it will not sync the calender, but the contacts sync very well.
What do I do to solve the problem?
AND ICloud is NOT a solution.

    Hey there Tommy,
It sounds like your contacts are syncing without issue, but your calendar info is not. I recommend the troubleshooting from the article named:

  • Sync outlook calender to iphnone 4s

do to many doctors I wish to take my 4s instead of dell computer to appointments to ad, change appointments. And have them sync to main calendar, contacts etc.

To sync your calendar with your Outlook on the computer, connect the iPhone to the computer with iTunes running, go to the Info page in iTunes and select Outlook in the list for syncing Calendar. You can also select it for contacts and notes. Your decision on that. Click Apply, or Sync and they will sync.

  • Can't sync calender with outlook calender

I am trying to sync my outlook calender with my calender on my iPad but can't figure it out. When I try to go to info tab in iTunes it says this for calender option "Your calendars are being synced with your iPad over the air from iCloud. Over-the-air sync settings can be changed on your iPad." Yet my outlook calender is not syncing, nor does it sync on my iPhone either even with me selecting to sync outlook calender. I have tried to search through others and could not find one that answers my problems.

I was able to fix it somehow by deleting the calendars on my iPad and iPhone and turning off iCloud calendar it finally let me select outlook calendar to sync by also selecting to replace calendar in advanced settings. But only by selecting both. It only took 6 months for Apple to allow me to do so because I have selected the outlook calendar before and wouldn't sync.
I have Windows 7 and MS Outlook 10

  • Outlook 2007 Calendar color coding (categories) of appointments and meeting

I synce my new iPhone 4 with Microsoft Outlook 2007 from work. I have all my appointment meetings color coded (categorized) in Outlook. The color coding is not showing up on my iPhone calendar. Why?

    Hi,
I did a test on my side: The account in Outlook was an Outlook.com account, I created an appointment in its calendar, gave it a category. Then I logged on the calendar on
https://bay04.calendar.live.com/calendar/calendar.aspx, the appointment was there and I could see the category, but there's no color on it.
Based on what I see, it's probably by design that Outlook.com Calendars don't display category colors, although it already has a category. To confirm this, you can post the question in Outlook.com forum:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com
Since iPad is not a Microsoft product, I'm not sure and can't guarantee if it supports the calendar categories that Outlook supports.

  • Unable to Use Color Categories for Outlook 2013

I've recently installed Office 2013 and found that the categories tag wasn't even on the ribbon (beside the tags where it should and used to be). and whenever i tried customizing the ribbon to add it, it was greyed out in the menu and didn't appear on
the ribbon. Whenever I clicked an appointment, the categories tab wasn't there either. Even the normal tags (Private, High Importance, Low Importance) don't work - they're clickable but they don't work. In the same way, whenever an appointment window opens,
yet again, the categories tab isn't there.

The categories you assign won't sync to the server and be visible on other computers, but you can use either keyboard shortcuts to assign categories or a small macro to bring up the category dialog and assign them for messages on this computer.
This works on selected mail - add a button for it to the ribbon -
    Public Sub CategorizeIMAP()
    Dim objItem As Outlook.MailItem
    Set objItem = Application.ActiveExplorer.Selection.Item(1)
    objItem.ShowCategoriesDialog
    Set objItem = Nothing
    End Sub
http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/outlook-categories-flags-and-imap-accounts/ has more information and a macro that works for open or selected items.

  • Shared 2010 Calendar Color Categories not appearing in Outlook 2007

I have a SBS 2003 (exchange 2007) environment wih a mixed Outlook use between 2007 and 2010. One 2010 Outlook client has shared a calendar to several 2007 users and they swear that when they received the email invite to view this shared 2010 calendar, the
color categories list in their Outlook changed to match the shared calendar without any interaction from the users. A new hire was given the same invite to view this shared calendar, she accepted, the calendar is visible however, the color categories
    are not appearing.
I've tried setting an appointment in the 2010 Outlook shared calendar with all the color categories in the list, then going to the client's 2007 Outlook and updating the color categories in her mailbox but nothing changes.
I've read about 20-30 blogs, tech form and MS tech answers on this subject and I get conflicting solutions. One states that you can't transfer the master color category list, you have to change it on each Outlook client while others state the use of an appointment
and upgrading the categories from the properties in the client's mailbox (which didn't work) or using a third party add-in to manage a "Master Color Category list" (which costs money). I would like a straight answer to my question, which is,
"why can't the Outlook 2007 client see the color categories in the 2010 shared calendar?" and "How to I fix this?".
This questions has been asked in so many different ways that I'm not sure if someone will help me without having to call MS support and pay for it. This has got to have a simple solution that I don't need to pay for it, yes?
    Anyone, please help me.....

Hey mate i had the same issue and was dumb founded till i came up with a solution that worked for me, and possibly someone out there looking for the same solution. Half the info i looked up was all bullshit and took me months to come up with a fix as
    im busy with other priorities.
still busy so ill be quick...and not gonna get too technical just gonna lay it all out in steps
    1. create a mail account in exchange eg.
    [email protected]
    2. log into the account through outlook and share the calendars you set up.
    3. go to the exchange management console on the 'server ' right click the created
[email protected] mailbox > manage full access permissions> and start adding the users who need access. (only thing that worked for me)
    4. close and reopen outlook on the users computer and then you should see the colour co-ordinated catergories that you assigned for scheduling that they can all access and book appointments in a easy colour co-ordinated layout.
if it dosent show up try - *on the users computer* start >run>cmd>gpupdate/force
this will force the update on some computer that didnt show up with the effect. only had this problem with 1 user and this fixed it :)
hopefully this idea helps you! as it did me cause no geek out there never gave me this easy fix option, instead right properties and blah blah blah technical crap that dosent work, wankers!
    thanks :)
P.S this worked between 2010 and 2007 microsoft outlook

  • Color Categories in Outlook calendar

I see that this question has been asked before, but it doesn't appear to have been asked recently, and I'm hoping things have changed.
Is there a way to make the color categories from the Outlook calendar show up on my ipad calendar?  I have all my events color coded in Outlook, and the events sync without difficulty, but the category colors do not appear on the ipad.  Thanks in advance.

The iPad seems to assign colors not randomly, but in a way different than iCal.  There appears to be no direct way of choosing colors for various calendars.  To get the colors to match those on iCal on my iMac, I had to "trick" the iPad.  For example, I my iCal events in blue, holidays in red, and week numbers in black.  The iPad had week numbers in black, but events in purple and holidays in orange.  What I did was disconnect my Exchange account (thereby deleting all events), and then removed and reinstalled the holidays.  The new holiday installation came up red -- perfect.  Next I turned on my Exchange and synced my calendar events, and they came up blue.
Seems like the iPad assigns color in a certain order based on what's in the caledar already.  Turning on certain events in some order seems to be the only way to choose colors, and even then I don't know exactly what the order will be.  I think I got lucky.
