Sync. ovi with PC

Hi,
I'd like to sync Ovi Calendar with KOrganizer or Lightning What are the right settings? In KOrganizer, I can choose "Calendar on IMAP Server via KMail" and "Calendar in Remote File". But I guess, I've to use s.th. with SyncML, right?

Moi,
You can't manually set up the ovi sync as the server generates the password automatically to the SMS message (unless you can somehow reverse engineer that from the SMS)

Problems with syncing OVI with my N82

Hi,
I am now using OVI because it is supported for Nokia phones, and I love the nokia phones already for a long time. Now that I have an N82 I want to use it to the max. So the calander function in combination with OVI should be perfect. But it is unforunately not working...
When I SYNC then
- It does not sync all my calander data which I see on the WEB
- group contacts lose all theyr telephone numbers
- when I change some calander items / or add them, then others disapair on my phone after syncing. BUT are visable on the WEB.
What is going on? what am I doing wrong? My device is good / (*#3370#) performed, I deleted my events etc, but can not get working properly

Syncing ovi with N96

Hello, I think I'm missing something obvious that someone can help me with.
I have been using my N96 happily with ovi but I had to restore factory settings on my phone and now when I want to synch my contacts with ovi I go to sync and I am in PC suite mode and I don't know how to change it to sync in Ovi mode.
I have tried everything but to no avail.
Can somebody help? I do hope so.

Go to Menu -> tools -> sync -> options -> change active profile -> select ovi.com

I have found the root cause for the crash of Nokia Suite 3.2.100 while synchronizing N9 calendar with Outlook
Basically Outlook synchronization with N9 is working for contacts, gallery, messages, notes.
I had the situation that calendar synchronization ended in crash of the Nokia Suite. The root cause was that after first synchronization some time ago a new calendar PC-SYNC was created on the N9. Due to whatever reason this calendar caused a conflict during the synchronization and the Nokia Suite crashed.
I have deleted this calendar on the N9 and tried to synchronize the Original N9 calendar again..... and it worked.... Now again there is a new PC-SYNC available on the N9 but it doesn't cause problems anymore... Synced N9 calendar with Outlook several times and the crash didn't reoccur....
Looks like the issue is solved now :-)

Sync Thunderbird with Nokia Ovi Suite 3.0.0.290

Hallo at all,
pleas excuse i know my English is not the best one.
My Problem:
I'm using Nokia Ovi Suite 3.0.0.290 and have all my contacts in it.
I want to Sync that contacts with Thunderbird and tryed to use the Sync Option of Ovi.
I have done all necesary adjustment and wanteed to click on the Sync Butten, but this was deaktivated. Now I have tried to export the Kontakts but i dident found a soluten.
Can me help anybody pleas?????
I't can't be that there is no possibility to sync Thunderbird with Ovi.

They lack of functionality between Thunderbird contacts and calendar and Ovi Suite is a problem many of us have been monitoring for over 2 years. It looks like still nothing has been done about it. I, for one, cannot believe that so many users have been ignored for so long. To date I still refuse to use Ovi Suite until such time as I can see evidence that will sync contacts and calendar to and from Thunderbird. In addition I see no logical reason why the Ovi Suite developers took a huge step backwards and removed another piece of PC Suite that was already working well, for several years. I am speaking of file sync. Not media files, but others, such as Office type files. The phone can open and read documents, spreadsheets, PDF's and the like. So why can we no longer sync those files? I have been doing this for 6 years, but there are others who have used it for longer than myself. It is a crucially important feature for those of us who need to carry info with us. Since PC Suite can still do the sync, I cannot, in good conscience install Ovi SUite, which I still feel is not yet ready for primetime.
Nokia developers, stop playing games. Some of us have work to do.

Sync problem with OVI / Outlook of the notes with ...

I'm desperate and close to open the gaz :-). I used to sync my Outlook notes with all my former phones with PC-suite. Since I have a new N8, I'm forced to use OVI instead of PC-Suite as it doesn' support this model phone. Everything seems to be possible in the set up but the sync doesn't work and always return an error code : 83860026. It even ask to reinstall Outlook which took sometime but never changed anything. As it might be due to other unknown variables, I tried the same Outlook database with other PC with XP or W7, office 2003, 2007 and even 2010 and the sync always fail with the same miserable error code. I'm fairly suprised to see this problem still there since I gave up, years ago, to use OVI because of this. My N97 and 6303 do the same. Can someone bring some good help to resolve this annoying trouble please?

thanks a lot for the advice but in the meantime I found another post stating that version 7.1.40.6 PC-Suite works great with the N8. I kept it in my archives and I can state that it WORKED GREAT in less than 5mn!
So far your suggestions might resolve the OVI sync problem but I have no more courage to follow it. I was yet using the latest version of OVI and W7 and Office2010.
However, if it would work, I would recommand the OVI software team to find out why one of their software work very fine while the other seem to cause trouble to the entire world. I could not find a single complain about PC-Suite while the support discussion ifs full of OVI reported troubles for the last 2,5 years. What a shame!
Furthermore, it is unacceptable that NOKIA force their client to use OVI with any phone while they know this software is so unstable. I would add that the "gift" is even worst when it comes to the most expensive product of the range. As the general manager of a software company, I have learnt that it is never good to insist with a product when the development team is unable to cope with bugs and troubles. Whatever the cause could be, it is better to restart from scratch and get rid of EVERYTHING and EVERYBODY involved in the mess! Please Mr Nokia new president, act positively and do your homeworks in the interest of your clients and sharholders. Additionnally, if I had not spoken English I would still be on the road side! OVI Suite doesn't sync with Thunderbird 6 / 7 from long time.
Nokia is sleeping? No news?

I have been using Thunderbird on some computers during many years. It is true now that Thunderbird 7 can´t sync adressbook with Suite.
Anyhow, Nokia has been the only phone manufacturer that has been supporting Thunderbird as long as I can remember.
just to be fair, and further more, it is time to Thunderbird to improve import/export functions for content. It is a dister nowadays and it has been for long. I am only using Thunderbird nowadays as a email client on 2 computers. All emails are on servers, also contacts and calender.
You will not be better off concerning sync issues and backup system in an Android. Just check it up for yourself...

Problems syncing n96 with wmp vista home

i'm using usb cable to sync n96 with my musiuc library in wmp. ivew tried using the nokia software but this doesnt do the random sync format i like. occasionally it works but more often than not wmp doesnt show the device? nokia ovi doesnt help too and my previous nokia disc has gone walkies whivh had an option of "sync with wmp" on the pc suite. im using vista home premuium on laptop btw.

Step by step then
1) When you plug your phone into the cable a message should appear on the phone listing 4 modes, select media transfer
2) Windows should recognise that a new device has been plugged in and display a message as such
3) When you open Media Player and select the sinc thab you should have a choice of 2 (3 if a memory card is inserted) n96 devices to choose from
at which step is the process failing

I have the exact same problem. I have not changed anything. This is probably a bug or something that has gone bad with Mac OS X (10.7.2). I have not found any solution for this on the web.

HI, if I did this, then I believe that I cloud would then hold my info which I don't want. Is that the case? The reason is that I'm an old git, therefore used to not giving out info. Would I be right?

Just got a new iphone and am syncing it with itunes, but it will not transfer my new music or voice memos. Help?

I just got a new iphone 3GS and was trying to sync it with my itunes information from my old phone. However, I keep getting multiple error messages and after the sync is complete, I find that everything has transferred except my purchased itunes music and voice memos (I record my class lectures). I am not sure what I can do to fix this. Any ideas?

The error messages are:
-"Attempting to copy to the disk 'My Iphone' failed. An unknown error occured (-69)."
-"The iphone 'My Iphone' cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all the items in itunes library."
-"The iphone 'My Iphone' cannot be synced. An unknown error occured (13010)."

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive (works the same with an SD card) into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

How do I make my iPhone 'sent' mail folder sync exactly with my iMac 'sent' folder?

I've got an email set up through IMAP on my iPhone and on my mac and I've been using it for years but I've realized all of my folders sync exactly with the exception of my "sent" mailbox. For some reason, when I send something on my comp, it doesn't show in the sent folder on my phone? Does anyone have a clue as to what this could be and how I get them to sync like the rest?

Because everything is on the same home network, all are wireless except the mini, I'd rather not do a cloud base setup. It doesn't make sence to upload then download if all are on the same network. Maybe I'm asking how to setup a secure home network.
