Sync Palm M500 wth Outlook?

Is there any way to sync the M500 with Outlook. I can't find the conduits.
Post relates to: Palm m500

I'm glad you're aware that the files need to be installed on your computer, but why are they going to your SD card?
Unless the download gets correctly installed to your computer, you're at a standstill!
Did you look for the files in the folders as I suggested?  Were they there?  Did you remove them?  Most likely you'll find them in /Card Inst/Slot-SD/
After you correct this error, depending on your version of Palm Desktop you'll either have to rerun the Installation Disk and when the prompt comes for "Sync with Palm Desktop or Outlook" you'll have to direct it to use Outlook.
If you have a newer version of Palm Desktop installed, there is a software "switch" available.  Go to Start Button/All Programs/Palm/PIM Conduit Sync/Sync with Outlook.

  • Sync Palm m500 to Mac OS 10.4.3. Possible?

I've just moved from using Mac OS 10.3.9 to 10.4.3 and I'd like to sync my "old" Palm m500 to it. With the previous OS I had Conduit manager v 3.2 and I could sync with no problems whatsoever. Now I wonder if I can sync Palm m500 with Tiger. I've been checking in Palm and Apple sites but I haven't found any useful information. Reading some of your comments in the forum I realize I might have problems using the new version of isync. On top of that I know my Palm is not precisely the latest model, but it works so well I don't fancy buying a new one. Can somebody help? Thanks.
    G5   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

Palm recommends that for the m500 series of handheld organizers, that you install the Palm Desktop 4.2.1 version A, available here:
    http://www.palm.com/us/support/macintosh/macdesk421.html
With this handheld, you need not first install software from the CD-ROM that was supplied with your device, as it does not contain unique software for your device.
After installing the Palm Desktop, Apple recommends that you first synchronize with it prior to configuring and using iSync. Once you've done that, launch iSync and select Enable Palm OS Syncing… from the Devices menu, and follow the instructions which appear. At the conclusion of this step, your device will appear in iSync. You can then press the Palm icon in its main window to drop down a configuration pane, which lets you specify how iSync interacts with specific contact groups and calendars.
If you intend to synchronize with other devices, including .Mac, you should also open the Preferences… dialog under the iSync menu, and check or enable all three options under the General tab. Then, each time you synchronize, you should…
    • launch iSync
    • select Sync Now from beneath the Sync Status icon in your menu bar, and
    • press you HotSync button when prompted to do so by the dialog
And, when you've successfully done all this - and find youself unhappy with the manner in which iSync performs - you should consider purchasing and installing the far more flexible, robust, feature-rich and reliable synchronization software from Mark/Space: The Missing Sync for Palm OS. More information about that package is available here:
    http://www.markspace.com/missingsync_palmos.php
One caution: The Missing Sync for Palm OS should be installed only after you have successfully synchronized at least once with both the Palm Desktop and with iSync.

I see that you are having a problem syncing your Palm device to your PC.
I would suggest posting your problem here at the HP Commercial Forum as well. This forum is specific to Palm products and you may find some more assistance.

  • "Port In Use" error message when trying to sync Palm m500 to Windows Vista machine

An error message on my Palm displays "Error: Serial Port in Use (Serial 0307)" when I try to sync my Palm m500 to my Windows Vista (32 bit) Home Basic machine. It worked until about 3 months ago and I don't have a restore point that far back to try System Restore. I've upgraded to Palm Desktop 6.2.2 (was using 4.xx) and downloaded the PalmHotSyncSetup from Pimlico Software but nothing helps. Any ideas are appreciated.
    Post relates to: Palm m500

I would try connecting the Palm's cradle, with the Palm in it, to your PC and then, in Device Manager, right-clicking on Palm Handheld #2 and selecting Uninstall Driver.  Palm Handheld/Palm Handheld #1 could be visible if you connect the Palm to USB port you may have tried using perviously.
After uninstalling Palm Desktop, reboot the PC, make sure Palm Desktop 6.2.2 is installed (since you are using Vista) and then try reconnecting the Palm.
One last thing: Make sure that you are using a 32-bit version of Windows.  There is no 64-bit USB driver support from Palm or ACCESS.  If you do have a 64-bit version of Windows Vista installed, that would clearly explain why you are having so much trouble getting your m500-series PDA to sync. This thread tells you how to check for a 32 or 64-bit install of Windows.

  • Can't sync Palm Centro and Outlook 2007/Windows 7 - please help!

    Hello,
I've never posted on a forum, but I'm at my wits end...!  I've been trying to get my Palm Centro to sync Contacts/Calendar/Memos to Outlook 2007 on my new laptop for a week now with no success.  It used to sync just fine to my old computer with Windows XP and Outlook 2003.  Then that computer crashed (my Outlook files were backed up on an external harddrive).  I received my new computer with Windows 7 XP (32-bit) and Outlook 2007.  I've downloaded the Palm Desktop 6.2, Windows 2007 Conduit, and Software Update 1.03 (Windows installer) for Centro for Verizon.
When I sync my phone to my new Outlook, it completes all 12 steps, but does not load Contacts/Calendar/Memos to Outlook.  This is a list of the error messages:

Can someone please help me transfer Contacts/Calendar/Memos from my Palm Centro to my computer's Outlook 2007?
I've ready about 3rd party software in posts (Pocket Mirror), but I don't know if it applies here because the Contact/Calendar/Memo information is in my Centro - not in Outlook.  I need to get it from my Centro to Outlook 2007.
Any help is greatly appreciated!  Thank you!

I have been using this and it works great.  On their site you can choose the phone and the particular program you need to sync with and choose which you way you want to sync.

Sorry hat, the Centro has absolutely nothing in common with a webOS device!  It runs PalmOS.  Nice of you to reply with your suggestion though!
@SyncHelpPlease:  OLERR errors are covered in this Palm KB article:

Something I noticed in your post - you installed Palm 6.2.2 AND the 2007 conduit.  Palm Desktop 6.2.2. has the 2007 conduits built into it already, and the patch is not needed.  Whether this is the cause of your problems, I'm not sure, but I've fielded several posts of the same issue where the user did the same thing you did!
I'd suggest doing a clean uninstall, and reinstall of Palm Desktop 6.2.2 only.
I admit, I do not use Outlook, nor Win7, so I'm giving you my best guess at a way to solve your problem.  Hopefully, this may lead to a solution!

I have been trying to sync a Palm IIIc with my
Powerbook which is currently running Tiger (I cannot
    run OS 9 at all).
I bought the IIIc on eBay and it works flawlessly
except for the fact that it won't sync. I can click
on the hotsync square on the screen of the IIIc and
    get two options :
    1. Direct Serial
    or
    2. IR (Infrared) to PC/Handheld.
It came with a cable that has the docking connection
on one and and a dual splitter on the other - one
lead has the serial (female) end and the other is a
USB connector. I am able to charge it on the PB
using the USB but likely only because it is a powered
    USB port.
I have tried two different serial to USB adapters and
so far, the Powerbook still is not seeing the IIIc.
A friend is giving me a cradle from his old IIIe but
it has a serial connection. I expect I will have the
    same problem with this cradle.
Does anybody have any suggestions ?
Is there an adapter that can be used with OS X/Tiger
I have installed Palm Desktop 4.2.1 and have iSync.

    Hi,
I have the same problem with my IIIc and powerbook G4 (no syncing with isync).I went ahead and bought the keyspan serial adaptor and still can't get the palm to sync. I also have desktop 4.2.1, running Tiger. I can get the palm to Hotsync with a PC via the standard serial port as well as the Keyspan serial adaptor to usb.

  • Syncing Palm with Outlook 2007

I have a Palm Treo 755p that I would like to sync with Oracle Calendar. The computer being used has Vista and Office 2007 installed. Palm Desktop 6.2.2 with Hotsync 7.0.2 is also installed. I have found that Oracle Calendar Sync does not work with this setup so I have configured Oracle Connector for Outlook and Hotsync Outlook conduits. I am able to sync this way but have run in to issues with duplicate calendar entries and contacts. I am in a support environment where some customers do not use Outlook but still want to sync to OCAL. I am curious what other people are using and their thoughts on syncing Palm products with OCAL through Vista.

If you have a data plan, and don't need outlook, then just get Synthesis Syncml for $22.
Not sure if the Palm version of the conduits would work with your Treo though. When I had a Palm PDA, they never failed on me. Outlook on the other hand - ugh...

  • Problem when trying to sync with Palm Centro phone and Palm m500

I just purchased a Palm Centro phone and have had no problem when I try to sync the phone with the Palm software on the computer, however, my wife has an older Palm m500 and all her contacts are on her Palm, but they don't show up on the Palm Desktop software.  Is there something we're doing wrong?  All the dates show up on her desk top and everything in my phone shows up on my desktop, only her contacts are empty.
    Post relates to: Centro (Verizon)

It is likely that your wife's older device (with Legacy two-word PIMs) is incompatible with the Access Desktop/Hotsync for Verizon Centros as I believe it has only the new Extended (one-word) PIM conduits. If you are running XP you might be able to use a download of 4.1.4e. Suggest you search the Hotsync forum to see if the Centro can use this version of Hotsync (I don't have a Centro).

Hello Peter15, Welcome to the Palm Support Community.
To change the sync program, look here:
Start Button/All Programs/Palm/PIM Conduit Sync/Sync with Outlook.   At the next HotSync it will try to sync with Outlook.
It ~should~ give you an option of which profile to sync with.

  • Sync problem with Palm IIIxe and outlook

I am unable to sync my PalmIIIxe with Outlook 2007 on my PC running MS Vista Home premium 32 bit. The Palm IIIxe is using Palm OS 4.1 with Hotsync 4.0.  I have installed palm outlook 2007 conduits.
I do not get any options to either set up or configure conduits from the desktop Hotsync manger 7.0.2.  When I first installed Palm Desktop by Access version 6.2.2 it asked if I wanted to sync with Palm desktop or Outlook, I chose outlook…..but it will not sync, although I have been able to load apps.
    Any ideas?
